Pick Gong when a revenue leader wants one enterprise platform for forecasting, a built-in dialer and a long security checklist, and is ready to negotiate for it. Pick Avoma when you want to know the bill before the first sales call. **Gong publishes no prices**: its pricing page says licenses are priced per user, with a platform fee based on the number of users, and buyers request a custom proposal [1]. Avoma lists every figure. Organization costs $29 per recorder seat per month billed annually, or $39 per recorder seat per month billed monthly, and people who only watch are free [2]. Coaching and forecasting are per-seat add-ons. For a team of up to 100 recorders that wants to start on its own, Avoma is the simpler purchase.

**$29** — Avoma Organization per recorder seat per month, billed annually ($39 per recorder seat per month billed monthly); viewers are free.

- **No list price** — Gong: per-user licenses plus a platform fee, quoted by proposal
- **14 days** — Avoma trial of Organization with all add-ons, no credit card
- **12 months** — Gong history Avoma migrates at no added cost, eligible moves

## A price list against a sales conversation

> **About these prices:** Prices shown are what Avoma lists for visitors in the United States, in US dollars. Your price can differ by country, currency and local taxes such as VAT. Check your current price — Avoma: https://api.colosus.site/go/avoma?to=pricing

Avoma charges only the people who record. Startup costs $19 per recorder seat per month billed annually, or $29 per recorder seat per month billed monthly, for up to 25 recorders. Organization stretches to 100 recorders. Enterprise costs $39 per recorder seat per month, billed annually only, with a minimum of 10 recorder seats, and every recorder must sit on the same plan. Managers and executives who watch recordings, read notes and comment cost nothing. There is one trap. An add-on attaches to a paid base license, so a sales manager who wants the forecast needs a recorder seat too.

Add-ons are extra and go only to the people who use them. Conversation Intelligence and Revenue Intelligence each cost $29 per seat per month billed annually, or $35 per seat per month billed monthly, following the base plan's billing cycle. By our arithmetic, ten Organization recorder seats billed annually, with Revenue Intelligence seats for five of them, come to $5,220 a year. The matching figure for the rival stays blank. Only a proposal fills it.

Gong's page names the parts of its price without amounts: per-user licenses, a platform fee that grows with the number of users, and integrations with your existing stack at no charge. On trials, Gong's conversation intelligence page offers personalized demos and invites buyers to discuss trial options. Avoma's October 2026 pricing post claims Gong has no self-serve trial and no month-to-month billing, only pilots run by its sales team. That is a rival's reading. Avoma opens a 14-day trial of Organization with every add-on switched on and no credit card.

Piloting Avoma as a Gong replacement with an exit in mind? Monthly Organization billing beats annual only if you stop within 8 months, by our arithmetic; past that, annual wins. Enterprise has no monthly option. Seat removals and downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle, and Avoma typically refunds nothing mid-subscription; the [Avoma pricing guide](/articles/avoma-pricing) walks through those billing rules and the seat caps.

| Area | Avoma | Gong |
|---|---|---|
| Public price | Yes, per recorder seat; Enterprise billed annually only | No; per-user licenses plus a platform fee, by proposal |
| Trial | 14 days of Organization, all add-ons, no card | Demos; buyers contact Gong about trial options |
| Conversation intelligence | Conversation Intelligence add-on (scorecards, coaching) | Separate conversation intelligence product |
| Forecasting | Revenue Intelligence add-on, Salesforce or HubSpot | Forecast Essentials and Forecast tiers |
| Calling | Connects to the dialer you already use | Gong Dialer inside Engage |
| Security claims | SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 42001; SSO and SCIM on Enterprise | ISO 27001, 27017, 27018, 27701, SOC 2 Type II; customer-managed keys |
| Agents and MCP | Agents built from prompts; MCP from Organization | Custom Agents in plain English; MCP support |

> 💡 **Seat only the people who record:** Avoma bills recorder seats, so managers who only watch, read and comment cost nothing. Give add-ons only to the people who use coaching or forecasting, and remember each add-on needs a paid base seat.

## Recording calls and coaching reps

Avoma joins calendar meetings on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex and other platforms with its bot, or records without one where the platform allows: Zoom when your company hosts, Teams cloud recording (with a Microsoft license and admin approval), Google Meet native recording, Webex cloud recording as host on a paid Webex license, the desktop app's Local Recording and in-person meetings on mobile. Since October 2026, Avoma records Zoom meetings only when Zoom is connected to Avoma; a calendar connection alone is not enough. When a prospect hosts on Zoom, the Avoma Assistant joins only if someone from your organization with Zoom connected is in the meeting. Transcription minutes are unlimited on every plan, in 70+ languages.

Phone calls take a different path on each side. Avoma pulls calls from dialers a team already runs, including Aircall, RingCentral, Dialpad, Outreach, Salesloft and Zoom Phone, and analyzes them only for members with a paid recorder seat. Gong's Engage page describes Gong Dialer, which places, records and logs calls from the web or a phone, inside the platform that analyzes them. A sales floor that wants one vendor for dialing and analysis gets that from Gong. A team attached to its current dialer avoids a rip-and-replace.

Coaching is where Avoma's base plans stop. AI scorecards (MEDDIC, MEDDPICC, BANT, SPICED, Sandler or custom) with timestamped justifications, automatic scoring rules, AI coaching recommendations, the Live Answer Assistant and Global Ask Avoma across all conversations come with the Conversation Intelligence add-on. Without it, Ask Avoma answers questions about one meeting at a time. Answer cards appear to the rep in the desktop or web app, never to the customer. Gong sells conversation intelligence as its own product and lets teams write Custom Agents in plain English, no code needed.

## Forecasting and deal risk

Gong's Forecast page sets out two tiers. Forecast Essentials covers deal boards, account boards, an AI Deal Reviewer, win-loss insights and deal drivers; the full Forecast tier adds forecast submission, an AI Deal Predictor, forecast analytics and an AI Revenue Predictor [3]. Forecasting is a product line there, not a module. A CRO who runs a strict weekly forecast call and wants account boards beside deal boards will find the more dedicated tool on Gong's side of this comparison.

Avoma packs its answer into the Revenue Intelligence add-on. Each deal gets a health score from 0 to 100, deal and forecast risk alerts reach Slack, and a methodology tracker follows MEDDICC, BANT or SPICED with 90 days of backfill. Forecasting covers submission, roll-up, targets and history. Once a deal is won or lost, AI win-loss writes the reasons back to the CRM, but only for deals with recorded calls, transcripts or tracked email. The same add-on brings deal-level Ask Avoma, 2-way CRM field updates and native Gmail or Outlook email sync. **Forecasting works with Salesforce and HubSpot only.**

## Scheduling, lead routing and the CRM

Avoma ships a scheduler beside its recorder. Every paid plan gets unlimited 1:1 scheduling links with two-way Google Calendar and Outlook sync and reminders that carry reschedule links. Group, round-robin and embedded scheduling are included from Organization; on Startup they arrive only with the Lead Router add-on. That add-on costs $19 per seat per month billed annually, or $25 per seat per month billed monthly. It routes inbound leads by rules, qualifies form fills and hands a prospect from SDR to AE during a live call. Inbound forms must be HubSpot or Marketo forms.

Avoma's Gong comparison page, read in November 2026, claims Gong has no built-in scheduler or lead router; treat that as a competitor's argument and ask Gong directly. On the CRM side, Gong's Engage page says it syncs contact data and activity history with Salesforce and other major CRMs, and Gong lists 300+ partners and integrations in its Gong Collective. Avoma connects Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive and Zoho through one sign-in flow, with Copper and Zendesk Sell set up through support. It holds one CRM at a time. Notes save to CRM records on every plan.

## Security reviews and the Enterprise gate

Gong says it holds ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 27701 and SOC 2 Type II, runs its AI models in-house without public large language models, lets customers supply their own encryption keys and keeps each customer logically separated in an AWS virtual private cloud. It also lists an Okta integration for provisioning and deactivation. Procurement teams with a firm ISO 27001 clause should weigh this. Avoma does not list ISO 27001. Its subprocessor list names OpenAI and Anthropic among its AI providers.

Avoma says it holds SOC 2 Type II and, since August 2026, ISO/IEC 42001:2023, a standard for AI management. Its plan matrix lists SOC 2 compliance as an Organization and Enterprise feature, not on Startup, so buyers who need SOC 2 evidence in the contract should plan on one of those. Hosting is on AWS in the United States, and Avoma says customer meeting data is never used to train AI models. SSO (SAML or OIDC), SCIM, HIPAA support, mutually signed DPAs and custom retention are Enterprise only; Avoma says it supports HIPAA on Enterprise through a BAA. By our arithmetic, the smallest Enterprise purchase is 10 recorder seats at $39 per recorder seat per month, billed annually only: $4,680 a year before any add-on.

> ⚠ **Security paperwork sits on Enterprise:** SSO, SCIM, HIPAA support, mutually signed DPAs and custom retention are on Avoma Enterprise only, which is billed annually only with a minimum of 10 recorder seats.

## Leaving Gong, and who should

Avoma's help center spells out the switch. For eligible migrations, Avoma moves the previous 12 months of Gong recordings and transcripts at no additional cost [4]; longer history, very high volumes or extra requirements may cost more, confirmed before work starts. A Gong admin supplies an API access key and secret. Gong notes and scorecards do not transfer, though Avoma can generate new ones from the migrated calls on request. Private Gong meetings stay Private in Avoma; every other migrated meeting becomes visible to the whole organization. Avoma's comparison landing pages, read in November 2026, also advertise a promotion of two months of Avoma at no charge plus Gong call migration; Avoma does not publish the conditions.

> 💡 **Get the migration scope confirmed:** Avoma includes 12 months of Gong recordings and transcripts for eligible migrations; have Avoma confirm which history window and volume your move covers before the migration starts.

**What users rate it, by platform**

| Platform | Rating | Reviews | As of |
|---|---|---|---|

_Rendered from our current record; these are other platforms' user scores, separate from our own Toolkit Score._

Reviewer sentiment settles little here. Avoma has one review base large enough to read as a trend, and the badges on Gong's site are its own marketing. Scope decides. Choose Gong for forecasting, a native dialer and what it calls in-house AI under one contract, if you can wait for a proposal. Choose Avoma if your team records with up to 100 seats on a self-serve plan, wants prices before a demo and needs a scheduler beside its call notes; larger teams move to Enterprise. Our [Avoma review](/articles/avoma-review) covers the product in depth, and [Avoma alternatives](/articles/avoma-alternatives) maps the lighter note-takers.

## FAQ

**What happens when the Avoma trial ends?**

The account switches to a viewer role: past recordings, notes and transcripts stay accessible, but nothing new is recorded until you buy a paid plan. The trial needs no card and no automatic charge follows it.

**Can the team keep recording in Avoma while Gong history is migrated?**

Yes. Avoma's help center says new conversations can be recorded in Avoma while the Gong history is being moved, and the included migration covers the users who join the Avoma subscription.

**Does Avoma record Zoom webinars or breakout rooms?**

Avoma does not record Zoom webinars, and in Zoom meetings with breakout rooms it records the main room only.

**Who can see Avoma recordings by default?**

Internal meetings default to Private and external meetings to organization-wide visibility; none are Public by default, and admins can set and lock these defaults separately for internal and external meetings.

## The bottom line

Gong and Avoma suit different buying styles. Gong is the quote-only revenue platform: forecasting tiers, its own dialer and, by its own account, in-house AI and a wide set of ISO certificates, priced per user plus a platform fee that only a proposal reveals. Avoma is the priced, modular choice. You pay per recorder seat, viewers ride free, and coaching, forecasting and lead routing are add-ons assigned person by person. Teams of up to 100 recorders that want to try before talking to sales should start with Avoma's 14-day trial; enterprises with ISO 27001 clauses or one-vendor mandates should take Gong's proposal seriously.
