**$12** — Per user a month for Cal.com Teams on yearly billing ($16 billed monthly), the plan most teams need.

- **$28 / $37** — Organizations per user, yearly or monthly billing
- **$0.01** — per credit; Cal.ai calls use 29 a minute
- **$300/mo** — HIPAA BAA on Teams or Organizations under 15 users

## What Cal.com costs, in one paragraph

Cal.com has four plans. Free costs nothing for one user. Teams costs $12 per user a month on yearly billing or $16 on monthly billing, and Organizations costs $28 or $37 on the same two terms [1]. Enterprise is priced by quote, on annual contracts only. Around those seat prices sit three metered costs that decide the real bill for many buyers: credits for SMS, WhatsApp and the Cal.ai phone agent, a $300 monthly fee for a HIPAA business associate agreement on smaller plans, and per-payment fees if you take money through Cal Pay. **Most small teams pay only seats.** Clinics, phone-heavy sales teams and ticket sellers should read on before choosing.

| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed yearly | Credits per member a month | What it adds |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 | $0 | 0 (can be bought) | One user, unlimited event types and calendars, payments, CRM sync |
| Teams | $16 per user | $12 per user | 750 | Round robin, collective and managed events, routing forms, workflows, Insights |
| Organizations | $37 per user | $28 per user | 1,000 | Sub-teams, attribute routing, SAML SSO and SCIM, compliance, audit logs |
| Enterprise | Quote only | Annual quote | Unlimited | SLA, dedicated database, onboarding, HRIS integrations |

## Free, Teams, Organizations: what each rung buys

### Free covers one person well

The Free plan is not a trial and not a stripped demo. One user gets unlimited event types, calendars and bookings, more than 100 apps, the Companion mobile app and browser extension, Stripe and PayPal payments, Cal Video, two-way Salesforce and HubSpot sync, and a one-click import of Calendly events. What it lacks is everything that involves a second host: round robin, collective and managed events, routing forms and Insights. Workflows on Free are limited to the default reminder email, with no customization. Free accounts also get no included credits, though they can buy them. We cover the plan's edges in more detail in [is Cal.com free](/articles/is-cal-com-free).

### Teams is where most buyers land

Teams adds one team with shared availability, round robin, collective and managed event types, recurring events, custom email and SMS workflows, routing forms, booking analytics, custom APIs and branding removal. Cal Video recording and transcription also start here. Each member gets 750 credits a month, reset each billing cycle. A 14-day free trial comes with it. For a sales, support or recruiting team that needs to share bookings fairly between people, this is the plan that does the job. **The single-team limit matters.** If your company needs separate teams for sales, support and hiring, each with its own admins, that structure belongs to the next plan.

> 💡 **Start monthly, then switch:** Monthly billing costs $48 more per Teams seat a year, but it lets you find your real seat count during the first months before you lock in a yearly plan.

### Organizations is for structure and control

Organizations adds unlimited sub-teams, routing by attributes such as region or company size, a company subdomain at yourcompany.cal.com, SAML SSO and SCIM provisioning, SOC 2, HIPAA and ISO 27001 compliance, instant meetings, domain-wide delegation, role-based permissions, additional APIs and audit logs. Members get 1,000 credits a month instead of 750. The help center confirms that attribute routing is only on Organizations and Enterprise, and auto-translation of attendee workflow emails and texts is an Organizations feature too. The plan also has a 14-day trial. The jump from Teams is $16 per user a month on yearly billing, which is steep for a small company that only wants one feature from the list, so check which feature you actually need first.

### Enterprise buys guarantees, not features

Enterprise has no published price. It is sold on annual contracts through sales, and Cal.com runs a quote calculator that covers HIPAA, EU data hosting, dedicated databases and SLAs and produces a PDF quote. What you get is mostly assurance: dedicated onboarding and engineering support, a 99.9% uptime SLA with a 99.99% option, HRIS and directory integrations, priority Slack support, a dedicated database and unlimited credits. Enterprise is also the only route to running the commercial product on your own servers, as an on-premises deal. Few small teams need it. A company that does will know it, usually because a security review or a procurement team asks for it.

## Monthly or yearly billing

The pricing page advertises a 25% saving on yearly billing. For Teams the math is exact: $12 against $16 is a quarter off. For Organizations, $28 against $37 is a saving of about 24.3%, by our arithmetic. Over a year, one Teams seat costs $144 on yearly billing and $192 on monthly billing, a difference of $48. One Organizations seat costs $336 or $444, a difference of $108. That adds up. They also buy commitment. Paid plans bill in advance and renew automatically, so a yearly plan locks in the seat count you start with for twelve months. If headcount is still moving, monthly billing for the first quarter finds the right size cheaply.

## Who counts as a seat

### High-water mark versus active users

Cal.com bills teams and organizations per seat, but it uses one of two methods depending on the plan [46]. With high-water mark billing you pay for the peak number of members during the billing cycle. In the help center's example, a team that grows from 10 to 15 members and then drops to 12 pays for 15 seats. With active user billing you pay only for members who hosted or attended at least one booking in the cycle, or for your minimum seat commitment if that is higher. Seat tracking resets each cycle, and seat details are not shown on free or trial plans. The help page does not say which plan uses which method. Ask before you sign.

### Why the method changes the bill

The difference matters most for teams with uneven usage. A recruiting team that adds 20 interviewers for a hiring push in one month pays for the peak under high-water mark billing, even if most of them leave the team two weeks later. Under active user billing, an interviewer who never hosted or attended a booking that month costs nothing, unless the team is below its minimum commitment. **Remove departed members before the cycle ends.** Under either method, a member who stays on the roster through the peak of the cycle can count. Managers who add people *just in case* should know that the roster, not the calendar, is what the invoice reads.

> ⚠ **Peaks count, not averages:** Under high-water mark billing a team that grows from 10 to 15 members and drops to 12 pays for 15 seats, so remove departed members before the cycle ends.

## Credits: the meter behind SMS, WhatsApp and Cal.ai

Credits pay for three things: SMS messages, WhatsApp messages and calls made by the Cal.ai phone agent. One credit is worth $0.01 [45]. Every SMS and WhatsApp message uses credits, including messages to the US and Canada, and each is priced at the Twilio rate for the region plus an 80% processing fee. The help center's example is an SMS to India that costs Twilio $0.05 and costs you 9 credits. Messages are charged per segment: 160 characters for plain text, but only 70 if the text contains emojis or special characters. *Emojis can double the price.* When credits run out, SMS and WhatsApp stop and Cal.com falls back to email, and all team admins get a low-balance warning.

### How far the included credits go

Teams includes 750 credits per member a month, worth $7.50, and Organizations includes 1,000, worth $10. Enterprise gets unlimited credits, and Free gets none, though Free users can buy them. Purchased credits carry over when an individual upgrades to a team account. Cal.ai phone calls cost 29 credits a minute, or $0.29, and test calls use credits too. So one Teams member's monthly allowance covers about 25 minutes of Cal.ai calls, and one Organizations member's covers about 34 minutes, by our arithmetic. US phone numbers for the agent cost $5 a month; numbers elsewhere have to be imported from Twilio. For reminder texts alone, most small teams will stay inside the allowance. Daily AI calling will not.

## The HIPAA rule that can decide your plan

A signed business associate agreement is free on Enterprise and on Organizations with 15 or more users. On Teams, and on Organizations with fewer than 15 users, it costs $300 a month [329]. Several older Cal.com pages tie HIPAA to Enterprise alone; the HIPAA page is the current rule. The Terms are firm on one point: protected health information may not be submitted without a signed BAA. Cal.com also places responsibility on the customer for making sure any third-party integration that touches patient data is itself HIPAA compliant, which matters for calendar, CRM and video apps connected to the account.

The $300 fee changes the arithmetic for small clinics. By our arithmetic, ten clinicians on Teams with yearly billing pay $1,440 in seats plus $3,600 a year for the BAA, or $5,040 in total. Fifteen Organizations seats on yearly billing also cost $5,040, and the BAA comes free. **So a practice with ten or more clinicians should price Organizations first.** A practice with 12 clinicians on Organizations would pay $4,032 in seats plus $3,600 for the BAA, $7,632 a year. Whether three seats you pay for but leave empty count toward the 15-user threshold is not stated on the HIPAA page, so get that answer from sales in writing.

## Cal Pay and the cost of getting paid

Every account has Cal Pay switched on by default. It is Cal.com's own payment option, processed by Whop, and it needs no separate payment account. Fees come out of the payment and the withdrawal rather than from the booker, so the client pays exactly the price you set. Each payment carries a $0.30 card fee, a $0.07 Radar fee, a percentage processing fee, a Cal.com application fee and an orchestration fee; a $1.00 payment loses $0.42. Withdrawals cost 2.3% by card, 1% by ACH and 2.7% by PayPal or Cash App, plus a Cal.com withdrawal fee. In the help center's worked example, a $55.00 booking pays $6.12 in fees and $48.88 reaches the bank.

That example works out to about 11% of the booking, by our arithmetic, which is a meaningful cut for a coach or consultant selling hour-long sessions. The alternative is to connect your own Stripe or PayPal account for paid event types, which every plan includes, and pay that processor's own fees instead. One exception has no workaround. Ticketed Cal Events sell only through Cal Pay, so a host running paid workshops through that feature accepts the Cal Pay fee structure. Identity verification happens at the first withdrawal, not at setup, so plan for a short delay the first time you move money out.

> 💡 **Use your own processor:** Cal Pay fees took $6.12 from a $55.00 booking in Cal.com's own example. For paid event types, connecting your own Stripe or PayPal account is an option on every plan.

## Billing terms, refunds and the switching offer

The Terms are plain. Paid plans bill in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically. Proration applies only where the billing method you were shown provides for it. Fees are non-refundable except where the Terms say otherwise or the law requires it. Invoice billing is available only under an Order Form or master agreement, which means a contract negotiated with sales. The FAQ lists card and bank transfer as payment methods and says the billing person must be the team owner. Subscriptions, payment methods and invoices are managed through a Stripe billing portal. Cal.com may also change or end free plans and trials with notice, as most vendors reserve the right to do.

For teams leaving Calendly, Cal.com advertises an offer to credit the full value of a current Calendly contract toward the first year, with terms attached. The comparison page and the switching guide both mention it. If you are mid-contract, that offer can remove the cost of switching early, so raise it with sales before you cancel anything. Ask how the credit is applied, and get the terms in writing.

## How Cal.com compares with Calendly on price

Calendly is the obvious benchmark, and on list price Cal.com is cheaper at every comparable rung. Calendly Teams costs $16 per seat a month on annual billing or $20 month-to-month, while Cal.com Teams costs $12 or $16 for a similar set of round robin and routing tools. For a five-person team on yearly billing, Cal.com Teams comes to $720 a year and Calendly Teams to $960, by our arithmetic. The free plans differ even more. Calendly Free allows one event type and one calendar connection, while Cal.com Free allows unlimited event types and calendars and includes payments and CRM sync. For a detailed view of the rival's plans, see our [Calendly pricing guide](/articles/calendly-pricing).

The gap widens at the top. Calendly sells SAML SSO as an add-on on annual Teams or inside Enterprise, and its Enterprise plan has a $15,000 yearly floor with a 50-seat minimum. Cal.com puts SSO and SCIM in Organizations at $28 per user on yearly billing. Healthcare is the sharpest difference: Calendly says it does not currently comply with HIPAA, and its Customer Terms forbid protected health information, while Cal.com offers a BAA. Calendly includes 250 SMS credits per seat below Enterprise and bundles its AI notetaker into higher-priced Plus plans, whereas Cal.com meters its phone agent per minute. Both vendors treat fees as non-refundable, and Calendly's renewals can rise by CPI plus 3%.

## Which plan for which team

A solo consultant, coach or freelancer should start on Free and stay there until a second host is needed. Buy credits only if text reminders matter to your clients. A sales, support or recruiting team of up to a few dozen people belongs on Teams, which covers round robin, routing forms and workflows at the lowest per-seat price. Move to Organizations when you need more than one team, attribute routing, SSO for your identity provider or audit logs. Healthcare is the special case: price Teams plus the $300 BAA against Organizations at 15 seats before choosing.

Enterprise makes sense when a contract needs an SLA, a dedicated database, EU hosting or self-hosting, or when phone agents run all day and unlimited credits pay for themselves. Before you sign any paid plan, run through our [Cal.com buyer's checklist](/articles/cal-com-buyers-checklist) to confirm seats, credits and compliance needs. **Start with the trial.** Fourteen days is enough to see how many members actually host bookings, which tells you more about your real seat count than any headcount list.

## FAQ

Free costs nothing for one user. Teams costs $12 per user a month billed yearly or $16 billed monthly, Organizations $28 or $37, and Enterprise is priced by quote.

**Is there a free trial of Cal.com Teams?**

Yes. Teams and Organizations each come with a 14-day free trial, and signing up for the Free plan needs no credit card.

**What are Cal.com credits?**

Credits pay for SMS, WhatsApp and Cal.ai phone calls. One credit is worth $0.01; Teams includes 750 per member a month, Organizations 1,000, and Enterprise is unlimited.

**How much does a HIPAA BAA cost on Cal.com?**

It is free on Enterprise and on Organizations with 15 or more users, and costs $300 a month on Teams or on Organizations with fewer than 15 users.

**Does Cal.com refund unused time?**

The Terms say fees are non-refundable except as stated or required by law. Plans renew automatically and are billed in advance.

**Is Cal.com cheaper than Calendly?**

On list price, yes: Cal.com Teams costs $12 per user a month billed yearly, while Calendly Teams costs $16 per seat billed annually.

## The bottom line

Cal.com is one of the cheaper ways to give a team shared scheduling. Teams at $12 per user on yearly billing undercuts the obvious rival and includes routing and workflows, while Free is generous enough that many solo users never pay. The real cost questions sit outside the seat price: credits for texts and AI calls, the $300 monthly BAA below 15 Organizations users, Cal Pay fees on paid bookings and the seat-billing method on your contract. Price those four before you choose, and the bill will hold few surprises.
