To cancel VEED, the workspace owner turns off auto-renewal in Workspace Billing, completes the short cancellation questionnaire and waits for the confirmation email. Do it at least **two business days before the renewal date**, or the plan renews for another full period. Cancelling stops future charges, but it does not refund the current one. Paid features and leftover AI credits stay until the period ends, and then the workspace falls back to the Free plan. iPhone subscriptions are the exception, because Apple bills them. For a customer who simply changes their mind, refunds exist in one narrow case: a consumer who never used the service and cancels within 14 days.

**2 business days** — Cancel at least this long before VEED's renewal date, or the plan renews for another period.

- **14 days** — Change-of-mind refund window, only for consumers who never used VEED
- **Period end** — Paid features and leftover AI credits last until then
- **Owner only** — Only the workspace owner can cancel a web or Android plan

## Turn off auto-renewal in Workspace Billing

Only the **workspace owner** can cancel. Collaborators cannot open billing, invoices or subscription settings, and ownership cannot be transferred from the interface, so a departing owner needs support for that handover. Each workspace is billed separately, which means a person who upgraded two workspaces has two subscriptions to stop. Android subscriptions run through VEED's own checkout rather than Google Play, so they are cancelled in the same place as web plans. The help center describes the whole flow in one short article.[1]

1. Sign in with the account that owns the workspace.
2. Open the dashboard and go to Workspace Billing (the pricing page calls it Team Billing).
3. Switch off auto-renewal for the plan.
4. Fill in the cancellation questionnaire. The cancellation is not complete until you do.
5. Wait for the confirmation email and keep it.

That email is your proof. VEED's help article says that if no confirmation arrives, the cancellation may not have gone through, so check the spam folder first and then contact support while there is still time before renewal. The terms also allow cancelling through chat or email support when the in-app route fails. Paid plans get live chat with typical replies in 4 to 8 business hours, while email-only Free accounts can wait up to three business days for an answer.

## Beat the renewal date by two business days

Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly, whether or not anyone opened the editor that month. The deadline is strict. VEED's Terms of Sale require cancellation at least two business days before the renewal date; miss it and the subscription renews for another period, and cancellations are generally not refundable.[2] For a renewal that falls on a Monday, the safe last day is the Thursday before, since weekends do not count as business days. Email replies can take up to three business days, so start a week early if the in-app switch gives you any trouble.

The stakes depend on the billing cycle. On monthly billing, a missed deadline costs one more month for every editor seat in the workspace. On annual billing VEED charges the whole year upfront, so at the base credit level a missed renewal means $147 a year per seat on Creator, $265 a year per seat on Pro and $465 a year per seat on Studio, and more on a higher-credit variant. For a three-seat Pro workspace on annual billing, VEED's figures add up to $795 a year. Put the renewal date in a calendar with a reminder a full week ahead.

## iPhone, VEED Lite and Enterprise plans cancel elsewhere

A subscription bought inside the VEED iOS app is an **App Store subscription**. Apple manages it, so turning off auto-renewal in Workspace Billing does nothing for it. Cancel it in iPhone Settings under your name and Subscriptions, and send refund requests to Apple's report-a-problem page rather than to VEED. Invoices for these plans also come from Apple, and VEED cannot change them. The account itself works the same everywhere, since one login covers web, iOS and Android with the same projects and workspaces.

VEED Lite is a different story. It is a separate iOS captions app, formerly VEED Shorts, with its own Apple subscription called Mobile Pro, and it is cancelled through Apple as well. A Lite subscription does not unlock VEED on the web. Whether a paid VEED plan includes Lite varies between VEED's help pages, so check in the app. Lite is billed separately through Apple, so cancelling one subscription leaves the other running and billing. Enterprise contracts bought through VEED Sales follow a third route entirely: changes go through the Customer Success Manager on the account, not through the billing page.

> ⚠ **iPhone plans ignore Workspace Billing:** A plan bought in VEED's iOS app is an Apple subscription, so switching off auto-renewal on the web does not stop it. Cancel it in iPhone Settings, and cancel any separate VEED Lite subscription there too.

## What happens after you cancel

Nothing switches off on the day you cancel. Premium features keep working until the current billing cycle ends, and any remaining AI credits can still be spent until then. After that, the plan's credit allowance is removed and nothing rolls over. If you hold a few thousand credits on an annual plan, spend them on the generations you actually need before the end date, because they have no cash value and no one will buy them back.

The workspace then drops to the Free plan rather than disappearing. Free exports carry a **hardcoded watermark**, top out at 720p and run no longer than 10 minutes, with 10 minutes of auto subtitles a month and 1 GB per uploaded file. Export finished projects while you are still paid, since a watermark burned into a Free export cannot be removed later. Our guide to [VEED's Free plan](/articles/is-veed-free) covers every Free limit in detail.

Two quieter rules apply on the way out. VEED's privacy policy says content uploaded on the Free plan, outside the mobile apps, is used to improve its products, including training AI models, and a user who objects cannot stay on Free but must delete the account or upgrade. Letting a card expire is not a clean exit either: when a renewal payment fails, VEED retries daily for five days, then puts the subscription on hold and drops the workspace to Free temporarily, which leaves the billing relationship open instead of closed.

### Deleting the account goes further

Deletion is separate from cancelling. An account with an active subscription cannot be deleted from settings until the paid period ends, although support can help delete it sooner. **Deletion never triggers a refund.**[3] It permanently removes all data, workspaces and projects, and VEED cannot restore them, while every embedded video stops working on the sites that host it. Download final versions and replace the embeds first.

## Refunds: unused accounts within 14 days, plus two exceptions

VEED's terms say it does not have to refund anyone who changes their mind after subscribing and using the service. The single full-refund case covers consumers who have never used the service, meaning no uploading, editing or adding subtitles, and who cancel within the first 14 days. Open one project and upload a clip, and that right is gone. Plan the cancellation as a way to stop the next charge, not as a way to recover the last one.

Cancelling only stops the next charge, and downgrading removes credit add-ons from the next cycle with no prorated refund for the current one. AI credits are non-refundable and expire at the end of the period, and breaching the terms can end the account with no refund. Beyond the 14-day rule, a pro-rata refund of the unused prepaid period applies only when VEED materially changes the service or ends the contract for its own reasons. For iPhone plans, Apple decides refunds under its own rules.

> 💡 **Download invoices before you leave:** VEED does not email invoices; they sit in the Invoices tab of Workspace Billing and only the registering email can reach them. Save the ones your accountant needs while you still have the account.

## Before you cancel, trim the bill instead

Many cancellations are really complaints about a bill that grew. VEED charges **per editor seat**, and every member counts: the owner, each collaborator and each pending invite.[4] A three-seat Pro workspace on monthly billing costs VEED's $135 a month, while one Pro seat costs $45 a month billed monthly. Removing collaborators brings the next invoice down, but it refunds nothing, because unused seat time becomes credit on future invoices instead of money back.

> 💡 **Revoke pending invites first:** VEED bills every pending invite as a seat, so clearing unaccepted invites cuts the next invoice without cancelling. Removed seats are not refunded; unused time becomes credit on future invoices.

Dropping a tier is the second lever. Moving from Pro at $45 per seat billed monthly to Creator at $25 per seat billed monthly keeps 1080p exports and removes the watermark, but you lose 4K, multiple Brand Kits and volume translation. A higher-credit variant can be stepped down the same way, effective from the next cycle. Mind the direction, though: upgrading resets the billing period and charges a full new cycle, with unused time on the old plan deducted, so an accidental upgrade brings a large charge forward.

Billing period is the last lever for people who come back for short projects. By our arithmetic, on Creator, Pro and Studio at their base credit level, and on every Pro credit variant, monthly billing is cheaper for five months of use or fewer and annual billing wins from the sixth month. Five monthly Creator charges of $25 come to $125, under the $147 annual charge, while six come to $150. On the higher-credit Creator and Studio variants the crossover comes later, between months 7 and 11, so check that variant's prices in our [pricing guide](/articles/veed-pricing).

## FAQ

**Can I pause a VEED subscription instead of cancelling?**

We found no pause option in VEED's help or terms. The Terms of Sale say VEED is typically unable to accept change requests to individual subscriptions and suggest cancelling instead.

**Does cancelling stop the VEED API?**

No, the API is a separate account at api.veed.io with no subscription to cancel. Its prepaid credits are non-refundable and expire two years after purchase.

**Where do I find my VEED invoices after cancelling?**

Invoices are not emailed; download them from the Invoices tab in Workspace Billing, which only the email that registered the subscription can open. iPhone app invoices come from Apple.

**What happens to my referral rewards if someone I referred cancels?**

VEED's referral rules say the referrer stops receiving rewards from that referral once the referred customer cancels a paid subscription.

## The bottom line

Cancelling VEED takes a few minutes if the right person does it at the right time. The workspace owner switches off auto-renewal in Workspace Billing, finishes the questionnaire and keeps the confirmation email, at least two business days before renewal. iPhone plans go through Apple and Enterprise through the account manager. If you simply changed your mind, expect no money back unless you never used the service and are inside 14 days, so spend leftover credits and export clean files before the period ends. If cost is the real problem, remove seats or drop a tier first.
