Lovable suits agencies that build client websites and web apps, with one structural catch: the bill belongs to a workspace, not to a person. Paid plans allow unlimited users, so adding designers or client reviewers adds nothing to the subscription, yet every message they send draws on one shared credit balance. Pro with 100 credits, $25 per month billed monthly or $21 per month billed annually, covers roles, per-member build limits, custom domains and badge removal. Business with 100 credits, $50 per month billed monthly or $42 per month billed annually, adds the agency pieces: handing a project to an account outside your workspace, restricted projects, groups and controls over outside collaborators. The Partner Program pays commissions on referrals. The Terms forbid reselling Lovable itself.

**$50/mo** — Business with 100 credits billed monthly ($42 per month billed annually): the lowest plan that transfers projects outside your workspace.

- **Unlimited users** — On Pro and Business, priced per workspace, not per seat
- **10%** — Expert commission on referred Business subscriptions, net of taxes and fees, for the term Lovable sets
- **0-20%** — Solution Partner commission on first-year Enterprise fees, by tier

## Decide whose workspace runs the meter

A Lovable subscription covers exactly one workspace, and each additional workspace needs its own plan and invoice. Inside a workspace, all projects draw from shared credits regardless of which member or outside collaborator sends the message. That leaves an agency three workable set-ups: one agency workspace holding every client project, a separate paid workspace per client, or a workspace the client owns and pays for, with your team invited in. Each choice moves the cost, the admin work and the eventual handover in a different direction.

Pooling is not cheaper per credit at small sizes. A client workspace on Pro with 100 credits at $25 per month billed monthly and one pooled Pro workspace with 400 credits at $100 per month billed monthly both work out to $0.25 a credit, by our arithmetic, because the menu price stays flat up to 800 credits. Separate workspaces even gain extras: each Pro or Business workspace receives its own 5 build credits a day (some regional plans cap that at 30 a month) and 20 Cloud credits a month on top of plan credits, grants Lovable calls a temporary offering. Pooling wins on paperwork. The per-credit discount above 800 credits is small.

The third set-up deserves a look for retainers billed at cost. When the client owns the workspace and invites your staff to a project, the client's balance pays for the work, because external collaborators consume the workspace's credits rather than their own [1]. Nobody has to re-bill credits. Ownership questions also disappear at the end of the engagement, since the projects never lived in your account.

> ⚠ **Pro cannot hand projects over:** Transferring a project to an account outside your workspace needs Business or Enterprise. On Pro, build client work in the client's own workspace from day one.

## Clients in the project, and on the preview link

An external collaborator is anyone outside the workspace whom you invite to a single project. They hold a separate collaborator role, and on Free and Pro they do not count toward the 200-member cap on owner, admin and editor roles. Business and Enterprise owners can block outside collaborators or cap their project role through a dedicated setting, and turning on Enforce SSO blocks them by default until an admin allows them back. If your client runs a Business workspace with SSO enforced, ask for that exception before kickoff.

Most clients need to react, not edit. Shared preview links work on every plan, and guests can comment on them without a Lovable account or email address. On Free and Pro those links expire after 7 days, so a review that drags into a second week needs a fresh link. Business adds a password of at least 8 characters and expiry choices of 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or never. For a staged launch, a published app can also go out invite-only to up to 10 people per project on Free and Pro, each signing in to open it; publishing to the whole workspace or to groups needs Business.

> 💡 **Keep client reviewers on preview links:** Guests can comment on a shared preview link without a Lovable account, and leaving a comment costs no credits. Only sending a comment thread to the agent uses credits.

## Limits that protect the retainer

Owners and admins on Pro and up can set a default monthly credit limit for members plus individual overrides, which reset on the 1st at 00:00 UTC. The catch is scope. **Member limits count build credits only.** Hosting, the built-in backend and AI features in a deployed app use run credits that belong to the project, so a client app with busy visitors spends the workspace balance no matter who built it. Usage limits and alerts, on every paid plan, can block Cloud, AI or connector usage in deployed apps, and adding credits does not lift such a block. Limits by group or by access token need Business. Set both kinds early.

Credits are spent per message on the work done, failed attempts included, and the [pricing breakdown](/articles/lovable-pricing) covers rollover windows and top-ups. Budget the plan step too. Moving up for agency controls doubles the price of the same credit count: Pro with 400 credits is $100 per month billed monthly, while Business with 400 credits is $200 per month billed monthly. Run and AI usage cost the same dollars on both plans, so a Business workspace simply records fewer credits for them. Lovable does not publish whether build messages use fewer credits on Business, so budget build work at the full price of a Business credit.

> ⚠ **Member limits miss visitor costs:** Per-member limits count build credits only. Hosting, backend and AI usage by a client app's visitors draws on the workspace balance and needs separate usage limits, available on paid plans.

## Handing a finished app to the client

On Business and Enterprise, a project can go to a Lovable account outside the workspace by email, and the recipient accepts the request [2]. Moving a project drops its collaborators unless you tick the option to transfer them. Check that box. Pro has no such button. A remix is not a substitute, since it copies code and database structure but not records, secrets, custom domains, collaborators, Git sync or connectors, and projects with payments, a Shopify store or own-domain email cannot be remixed at all.

Git sync gives any plan a route for the code. Lovable creates a private repository on GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket Cloud and keeps it in sync both ways, but database records, stored files, sign-in settings and secrets never travel with the code. An app on Lovable Cloud therefore stays tied to someone's credits until its backend moves to Supabase by hand, which our [Lovable review](/articles/lovable-review) weighs in more depth.

Domains need the same foresight. A domain bought through Lovable belongs to the workspace that bought it, and lovable.app subdomains belong to Lovable, which can reclaim them with notice. Client apps deserve a custom domain, a feature of every paid plan. Removing the Edit with Lovable badge needs Pro, and the badge returns on the next publish after a downgrade. Business also offers design templates, which copy an entire codebase into a new project, with one default template per workspace, a handy starter kit for repeat builds.

> 💡 **Buy domains in the right workspace:** A domain bought through Lovable belongs to the workspace that bought it. If the client will own the app, buy or connect the domain from the client's workspace.

## Experts or Solution Partners: picking a track

The Expert track serves freelancers and agencies under five people, and a Pro plan is the entry requirement. Experts earn a 10% commission on Business plan subscriptions they refer. The commission is calculated net of taxes, discounts and payment fees, runs only for the commission term Lovable sets in its Program Guide, and is not paid on discounted subscriptions, self-referrals or existing customers. Certification is free and has no exam: it is assessed on projects already shipped, traffic and build quality, plus Academy courses on security, client delivery and SEO/AEO. You can certify as a website builder, an app builder or both, and switch tracks later as the shop grows.

Solution Partners are the larger agencies, consultancies and systems integrators. Joining takes a Business plan, an approved application, a signed partner agreement and a certification project, after which the firm gets a directory listing, a Partner Development Manager, a partner support inbox and co-selling with Lovable's sales team [3]. Four tiers set the commission on referred Enterprise deals and the credit bonuses:

| Tier | Commission on first-year Enterprise fees | Credits on reaching tier | Credits per won deal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Registered | 0% | 50 on joining | 50 |
| Select | 10% | 500 | 100 |
| Premier | 15% | 3,000 | 300 |
| Elite | 20% | 8,000 | 500 |

Select, Premier and Elite partners also earn 10% on Business subscriptions they sell. Premier requires $120,000 of Enterprise sold ARR or $240,000 of managed ARR, and Elite $300,000 or $600,000. Commission applies only to first-year fees of referred customers who sign at least a 12-month Enterprise term and pay the annual invoice, calculated net of taxes, discounts and payment fees. Every lead must be registered in the Partner Portal, and registration alone grants no exclusivity. Enablement is a self-serve hub with documentation, without live training.

The Partner Directory lists 500+ certified partners across both tracks, and clients can filter it before they reach out. Inquiries go straight to the partner, who agrees scope, pricing and contract with the client directly. Lovable endorses no partner and does not guarantee that a listing brings work, so the directory is a storefront rather than a lead pipeline.

## Where the contract and the data rules draw lines

The license covers building, deploying and operating apps for personal or internal business purposes and letting their end users use them. Reselling the Services, or making them available to third parties on a service-bureau or time-sharing basis, is prohibited [4]. Selling finished apps and your hours is the model the Partner Program describes. Packaging access to your own workspace as the product is what the clause targets. Get any edge case confirmed in writing.

Client material in prompts raises a second question. Since September 2026, Free and Pro content may train Lovable's models unless each user opts out in account settings, while Business and Enterprise workspaces are excluded by default and Business includes a Data Processing Agreement. Lovable does not support HIPAA workloads and signs no Business Associate Agreements, and its Terms bar health data, card data, government IDs and biometrics without a written agreement. A healthcare or fintech client therefore needs a different conversation before the first prompt.

## FAQ

**Does Lovable limit how many client projects an agency can create?**

No. Lovable sets no project limit; plans are priced by credits, not by projects or seats, so the constraint is the workspace's credit balance.

**What happens to client apps if our workspace downgrades?**

Published apps stay live and connected custom domains keep serving, but the Lovable badge returns on the next publish and a workspace-published app switches to invite-only on its next publish. Apps on the built-in backend or with AI features still need credits to serve requests.

**When are Solution Partner commissions paid?**

Within 45 days after each three-month accrual period ends, in US dollars, and only once the amount owed reaches $500. Lovable can end the partner terms on 30 days' written notice.

**How long do invitations to a workspace stay valid?**

Email invites are valid for 30 days and invite links expire after 5 days, with one active link per role. Enterprise workspaces do not support invite links, and Free workspaces can send 5 email invitations a day.

## The bottom line

Lovable fits agencies that ship client websites and web apps and are ready to treat credits as a project cost. Pro carries a small shop through builds, member limits and branded launches, and it is the plan the Expert track requires. Business earns its doubled credit price when you hand projects to clients, gate outside collaborators, need the training exclusion by default or want Solution Partner status. Decide early whose workspace pays and owns each client project, because a transfer to the client's account needs Business and on Pro moving it later is manual work.
