**US$358.80** — A year of annual Basic: enough keyword research, SERP checks and tracking for one blog.

- **200 keywords** — tracked weekly on Basic
- **100 a day** — keyword and SERP lookups on Basic
- **25%-35%** — recurring affiliate commission

## Why Mangools fits a content site

Mangools is built for the kind of site most bloggers and affiliate marketers run: one or a few content sites that live on long-tail keywords. KWFinder, its first tool, was built in 2014 to find keywords with low SEO difficulty, which is the core task of a content site. Mangools' home page quotes Gael Breton of Authority Hacker calling it "a great choice especially for beginner bloggers". **Ease is the selling point.** This guide shows how a blog or affiliate site can use each tool, which plan fits and where the limits bite, from Mangools' own pages as of 12 October 2026.

The short version is simple. For one blog or affiliate site, annual Basic at US$358.80 a year covers keyword research, SERP checks and weekly tracking of 200 keywords [1]. Competitor research needs Premium. Start on the free plan and Free+, and upgrade only when the limits stop you. It also helps to know the gaps up front. There is no site audit, so technical issues need another tool. There is no own backlink index, since the link data comes from Majestic. Tracking is weekly on every plan below Agency. Most blogs can live with all three. Big publishers cannot.

> 💡 **Check the SERP before writing:** Spend one SERP lookup on every target keyword. If the results show a different intent, such as delivery services for a recipe keyword, write a different article.

## Start with the vertical, then the niche

Mangools' affiliate SEO guide sets out nine steps: choose a vertical, pick a niche, do affiliate keyword research, create quality content, optimize on-page, run regular audits, build links, optimize conversion and monitor performance [103]. Mangools covers research, links and monitoring. Audits and conversion need other tools. The guide also contrasts affiliate SEO, which optimizes a site promoting other companies' products, with client SEO, which optimizes a site that sells directly. Affiliate SEO gives you more control over the site, but it carries the risk of high competition and time-consuming work. Mangools suits the affiliate side.

The first decision comes before any keyword. The guide advises proven verticals with consistent demand, higher commission rates, room to expand the product line and less seasonality, and it warns that even first positions earn little in a weak vertical. **Check commissions before keywords.** Then pick the niche inside that vertical, which the guide also puts before keyword work.

KWFinder's search by domain is the practical tool here. Run it on three successful sites in the niche to see what brings them traffic. The catch is that Basic shows only 25 rows per domain, which is thin for this job. For niche research, Premium is worth a month. Paying US$69 for one month of Premium, with 2,000 competitor rows per domain, and then dropping back to Basic costs US$20 more than a month of Basic billed monthly.

> ⚠ **Basic is thin for niche research:** Basic shows only 25 competitor keyword rows per domain. A single month of Premium at US$69, with 2,000 rows, is the cheaper way to study a new niche.

## Building a keyword list by intent

### Commercial, transactional and informational

The affiliate guide sorts keywords by the searcher's intent, and each intent calls for a different page. Commercial keywords, such as best products and product reviews, come from searchers still evaluating options, so the content should compare and present choices. These are the keywords that pay. KWFinder's CPC column helps find them, because a high CPC means advertisers value the query. Between two keywords with similar volume, the one with a CPC several times higher usually signals buyers rather than browsers.

Transactional keywords, such as buy a product or a brand and product for sale, signal readiness to purchase, and the guide recommends direct product pages with prominent affiliate links and calls to action. These pages convert best. They also face the hardest competition. Informational keywords bring visitors who are not ready to buy but can be led to buying guides, so the guide recommends a mix of content across intents. KWFinder's Questions tab is the fastest source for them.

### Long tail and Keyword Difficulty

The guide shows the ideal target as a long-tail keyword with high volume and relatively low difficulty. Filter KWFinder's suggestions to a maximum KD and a minimum volume before opening any of them, because scoring costs lookups. Scoring 50 filtered suggestions uses 50 SERP lookups, half of Basic's daily 100, while scoring all 200 suggestions from a Basic lookup would take two full days of allowance [183].

Keyword Difficulty runs from 0 to 100 and is built from the link strength of the first-page URLs. New sites should start well below 30, where weaker pages rank. Once your site has links, Relative Keyword Difficulty re-scores keywords against it. A site that has earned links from a few dozen relevant blogs will often find that keywords rated 40 on KD look easier on RKD, which widens the list of realistic targets. Switch to it later, not on day one.

### Timing seasonal posts

KWFinder's trend chart shows 12 months of volume and year-over-year growth. For seasonal affiliate products, publish before the peak. Volumes arrive with about a one-month lag, so plan two months ahead. A gift guide for December should be published by October, so it has time to be indexed and climb while the trend still shows rising interest.

## Checking the SERP before you write

Mangools gives the example of a pizza recipe keyword whose results are all delivery services, which is the wrong intent for a recipe post. One SERP lookup avoids writing the wrong article, and Basic gives 100 a day. **Spend one on every target.** Publishing two articles a week means about eight SERP checks a month for the final targets, a tiny share of the 3,000 or so SERP lookups Basic allows in a 30-day month.

Two free tools help around the edges. The SERP Simulator previews titles and descriptions among real competitors, with a heatmap and an AI Overview preview. Affiliate titles compete with dozens of near-identical "best X" results, so a distinct snippet wins clicks. When the top ten results all start with best and a year, a title that leads with a tested number of products or a clear verdict can stand out without changing the keyword. The Reddit Threads Finder lists keywords where Reddit ranks in the top five, with volume and comment counts, and the threads show what buyers ask and which products they mention. Read them, then write better answers.

> 💡 **Track mobile only:** Each device is tracked separately, so tracking mobile alone keeps all 200 Basic keywords for one device.

## Planning and linking the content

Save keywords into lists by topic and send them to SERPWatcher when the post goes live. The lists become the content calendar. A site with ten topic lists has a year of posts planned. For basic audits, the guide suggests checking on-page tags with the free Mangools SEO extension, which shows a page's Moz and Majestic metrics, keyword positions and best backlinks while you browse. That covers single pages. Site-wide audits need a crawler.

The same lists drive internal linking. The guide recommends links from top-of-funnel and middle-of-funnel content to bottom-of-funnel pages, moving readers from informational posts to commercial and transactional ones. KWFinder lists organized by intent make that map. Link every guide to a review, and every review to a buying page. Put together, the research, the lists and the linking fit a simple monthly rhythm. A month of Basic covers all of it, and then you repeat:

- Week one: niche research with search by domain.
- Week two: 30 long-tail keywords saved in lists.
- Week three: SERP checks and outlines.
- Week four: publish and start tracking.

## Tracking what you published

### Weekly, mobile only

Basic tracks 200 keywords weekly. For most blogs, weekly is enough, because rankings for evergreen content move slowly. Track mobile only. Mangools' FAQ is blunt about why: "Each tracking is separate." Tracking one device keeps all 200 keywords for it. A blog with 60 published posts, each targeting a main keyword and two variants, needs 180 tracked keywords on mobile, which fits inside Basic with 20 to spare. Tracking both devices is one of the most common ways to waste the allowance.

### Performance Index and estimated visits

SERPWatcher's Performance Index weights positions by search volume on a 0 to 100 scale. Tag keywords by post or category to see a subset index for each section of the site. If the index for product reviews rises while the one for how-to guides falls, the site's earnings are likely moving the right way even when overall traffic looks flat. Write more of what earns.

SERPWatcher also shows estimated visits for each tracked keyword, built from position, click-through estimates and volume. On an affiliate site, the ten pages with the most estimated visits often earn most of the commission, so sort by that column and protect those pages first. A drop on one of them deserves attention before any new article.

### Checking estimates against real clicks

Compare the Performance Index and estimated visits monthly with real clicks in Search Console, and SERPWatcher can import Search Console keywords to make that easier. If estimates and clicks diverge, trust the clicks. Estimated visits assume average click-through rates, so a page with a weak snippet can earn far fewer clicks than estimated. That is a signal to rewrite its title, not its content.

## Links, competitors and AI answers

LinkMiner lets you filter a competitor's backlinks by category, such as blog, Q&A or forum, to find links you can replicate. Guest posts and resource pages show up quickly, and you save them to favorites before pitching. Filtering to one link per referring domain and the blog category often turns thousands of rows into a short list of sites that already accept guest content in the niche. Our [LinkMiner tutorial](/articles/mangools-linkminer) walks through it step by step.

SiteProfiler shows a site's Domain Authority, Trust Flow, top content and competitors, and Basic allows 20 profiles a day. Profile the top five sites in your niche once a quarter and note who grows fastest. Five profiles a quarter use five of Basic's 20 daily lookups once, which is a negligible cost for a clear view of which competitor is gaining authority.

AI search increasingly answers "best X" questions, too. Every Mangools plan includes one AI Search Watcher monitor with five prompts, so track five buying-intent prompts for your niche and see which sites the AI engines cite. Those are the links to chase. If one review site gets cited for most buying questions, a mention there reaches readers in AI answers and in Google at once. The free AI Search Grader checks a brand's visibility across six named AI models. Test your own name and two rivals. Most small sites start invisible.

## Which plan fits your blog

The plans line up with the stage of the site, and the jump between them is about limits rather than features. Most blogs move from the free tier to Basic and stop there; the others need Premium for competitor rows, more keywords or seats [1]:

| Plan | Price | What a blogger gets |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Free | US$0, no card | Learning KWFinder, with imports of 15 keywords five times a day |
| Free+ | Free | Ten days with 50 keywords tracked daily |
| Basic | US$29.90 a month billed annually, US$49 monthly | 100 keyword and SERP lookups a day, 200 tracked keywords, no sub-users |
| Premium | US$44.90 a month billed annually, US$69 monthly | 700 tracked keywords, 2,000 competitor rows, 3 sub-users |

**A new blogger** can start on the Free plan with no card and no time limit. A beginner can test 75 keywords a day through imports, enough to plan the first ten posts over a week. It is enough to learn, not enough to build a site. Free+ then works as a trial: track your first posts daily from launch, because daily data in the first weeks shows indexing and early movement. Then decide on Basic.

**One blog** belongs on annual Basic. A blogger publishing two posts a week rarely needs more, and most stay on Basic for years. At US$358.80 a year, a site earning even a single commission of about US$30 a month covers the tool, which is why annual Basic is the default choice for most niche sites. That is the sweet spot. See our [Mangools pricing guide](/articles/mangools-pricing) for every limit.

**A portfolio of three to five sites** needs competitor research and more tracking, and SERPWatcher splits keywords across unlimited domains. Five sites with 140 keywords each fit Premium's 700, while Basic would allow only 40 per site, too few for most active blogs. Agency is rarely needed. **A content team** needs seats: Premium includes 3 sub-users and Agency 5, sharing limits, and Basic has none. Four writers on Premium share 500 lookups a day. If each researches two articles a day and scores about 30 keywords per article, they need about 240, comfortably inside the limit.

## Earning from Mangools' affiliate program

Bloggers who like the tools can join Mangools' own affiliate program with a free account. It pays 25% to 35% recurring commission with a 30-day cookie, and commissions continue while the user stays subscribed [9]. The affiliate page's example shows how that works: 30% of a monthly Basic payment of US$49.00 is US$14.70, and 30% of an annual Premium payment of US$538.80 is US$161.64. On those rates, five readers on annual Premium would earn about US$808 a year, more than the cost of the blogger's own annual Premium plan. Payouts start at US$150. PPC on Mangools' brand and coupon sites are not allowed, so read the rules and disclose the link.

## Mangools next to Semrush and Ubersuggest

Semrush's SEO plan costs US$139 a month and adds a site audit and daily tracking, while Mangools Basic costs US$49. For one blog, the extra US$90 a month rarely pays back. For a large publisher, it might. Over a year on annual billing, Semrush's SEO plan costs US$1,407.96 against US$358.80 for Mangools Basic, a gap of US$1,049.16 that would fund a lot of content. Our [Mangools vs Semrush comparison](/articles/mangools-vs-semrush) goes deeper. Ubersuggest's Individual plan covers one project with 125 tracked keywords, while Mangools Basic tracks 200 across any number of domains. Ubersuggest's prices were served to us in euros, so compare the limits rather than the price tags.

**What users rate it, by platform**

| Platform | Rating | Reviews | As of |
|---|---|---|---|

_Rendered from our current record; these are other platforms' user scores, separate from our own Toolkit Score._

Users rate Mangools well on the review platforms, and the scores sit close together rather than splitting between happy and angry camps. The vendor's own testimonials come from bloggers and SEO consultants, which says something about who actually buys it. The audience is clear. It matches the reader this guide was written for: one person or a small team running content sites, not a large publisher with an SEO department.

## The bottom line

For bloggers and affiliate sites, Mangools is the easiest complete toolkit: KWFinder for long-tail research, SERPChecker to confirm intent, SERPWatcher for weekly tracking, and LinkMiner and SiteProfiler for a light look at competitors. Start free, move to annual Basic once you publish regularly, and add Premium only when competitor research or several sites make the extra rows and keywords worth paying for. Keep a crawler for audits. Mangools will not do that part.
