**$20** — Starter per month billed annually ($240 a year) for up to 5 brands, before VAT and add-ons.

- **$0** — Free: 1 brand, 20 posts a month
- **$10/mo** — per connected X account on web paid plans (legacy buyers $5)
- **15 days** — refund window, first purchase only

## How Metricool prices: brands, not seats or channels

Metricool sells its plans by the **brand**, and that one word explains most of the bill. A brand is a container that holds one profile per social network and ad platform, plus one website or blog. So a single brand can carry an Instagram account, a Facebook Page, a TikTok, a LinkedIn page, a YouTube channel and more, all for one slot. What a brand cannot hold is two profiles on the same network. Two Instagram accounts for the same client mean two brands, and each Google Business Profile location needs a brand of its own. Count your clients and locations first, then your networks.

This is a different logic from most of the market. Buffer bills every connected channel, Hootsuite bills every user, and Later sells bundles it calls Social Sets. Metricool bills neither seats nor channels until you reach the plan that adds a team, and even there users are unlimited. The practical effect is that a business with one identity spread across many networks gets a lot for very little. An agency with many small clients pays by headcount of clients instead. Both cases are cheap per brand. The surprises sit elsewhere: in X, in the add-ons and in the billing rules.

All prices below are in US dollars and exclude VAT. Metricool also shows euro prices, and annual billing saves up to 24% against paying month to month [1]. We read the pricing page and the help center in October 2026 and checked every toggle state, monthly and annual, for each brand size. Payment is by card or PayPal, in euros or dollars. That is the whole frame. Everything else is detail.

## Every plan and price on one card

Metricool has four tiers. Free is a single brand. Starter comes in two sizes, Advanced in three, and Custom is a quote for anything above 50 brands. Each paid size can be billed monthly or annually, and the annual price is shown as a monthly figure even though you pay for the year up front. All figures are before VAT and add-ons. Here are the published prices:

| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Brands |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 | $0 | 1 |
| Starter | $25 a month | $20 a month ($240 a year) | up to 5 |
| Starter | $45 a month | $36 a month | up to 10 |
| Advanced | $67 a month | $53 a month ($636 a year) | up to 15 |
| Advanced | $107 a month | $85 a month | up to 25 |
| Advanced | $210 a month | $159 a month | up to 50 |
| Custom | Quote | Quote | more than 50 |

Read the table by brand count first and by feature second. The jump from one size to the next within a tier changes only how many brands you can connect; the features stay the same. The jump from Starter to Advanced is different, because it changes who can log in and which integrations work. That is the line most buyers actually have to decide on, and it is covered in detail below. The annual discount grows with size, so the biggest accounts save the most by committing for a year.

> 💡 **Count brands, not networks:** A brand holds one profile per network, so list your clients and locations first. Two accounts on the same network, or two Google Business Profile locations, need two brands.

## What each plan unlocks

### Free: one brand and 20 posts a month

The Free plan is $0 for one brand and **20 posts a month**, and published posts are what count. It connects every network except LinkedIn and X, keeps 30 days of analytics, shows a fixed demo of five competitor profiles per network, and gives the AI assistant five credits a month. The official MCP server works here too, so you can drive Metricool from Claude or ChatGPT, but the 20-post limit still applies. There are no reports, no SmartLinks, no Flows, no Studio and no Canva. It suits one small account. Our [guide to the Free plan](/articles/is-metricool-free) goes deeper.

### Starter: the solo plan

Starter costs $25 a month billed monthly or $20 a month billed annually for up to 5 brands, and $45 or $36 a month for up to 10. It removes the post cap (publishing becomes unlimited under the Fair Use Policy), adds LinkedIn, keeps your analytics history without a time limit, and brings PDF and PowerPoint reports, 100 competitors, SmartLinks, Google Drive and Canva, and 20 AI credits per brand a month. It also lets you buy the X and Advanced Analytics add-ons. The limit that matters is simple. **Starter has one user.** No teammates, no roles, no post approval, no API and no Zapier.

### Advanced: the team plan

Advanced costs $67 a month billed monthly or $53 a month billed annually for up to 15 brands, $107 or $85 for 25, and $210 or $159 for 50. It adds team and client management with unlimited users, roles and permissions, post approval, custom report templates and complete X analytics. It also opens the developer side: the public API, Zapier, Make (the automation tool) and n8n through the API, and the Looker Studio connector. Recurring posts, 15 days of detailed post analytics, 35 AI credits per brand and unlimited AI alt text round it out. For anyone who works with other people, this is the real entry price.

### Custom: above 50 brands

Custom is for accounts with more than 50 brands. It adds White Label, either for agencies or for integrators but not both, a dedicated account manager and a custom number of AI credits. There is no published price. You contact sales. With White Label, clients log in on the agency's own domain and see the agency's logo. Agencies weighing White Label should read our [Metricool guide for agencies](/articles/metricool-for-agencies) before that call.

## Why the X add-on changes the math

On plans bought on the web, X (Twitter) is not part of the plan price. To publish to X, see its analytics or watch X competitors, you need a paid plan plus the **X add-on, at $10 a month or $120 a year per connected X account** [2]. One add-on covers one X account in one brand. Five clients with X accounts need five add-ons. The Free plan cannot add X at all. The one exception is Starter Mobile 5, bought in the app, which includes X in its price.

The reason is upstream: X charges Metricool for every API connection, so the cost is passed on per account. The current price started on July 13, 2026. Earlier buyers keep the old $5 a month rate, even for add-ons they add later, but only while at least one legacy add-on stays active. Remove all of them, or cancel and resubscribe, and the old price is gone for good. The add-on follows the billing cycle of your main plan, so on an annual plan you pay for X a year at a time.

The effect on small accounts is large. A five-brand Starter account billed monthly costs $25, and five X add-ons would add $50 on top, tripling the bill by our arithmetic. On Starter you also get reduced X analytics; the complete set waits on Advanced. If X is central to your work, price it in before you compare Metricool with anything else.

> ⚠ **X is billed per account:** On web plans every X account needs its own $10 a month add-on on top of a paid plan, and Free cannot connect X at all; the app-only Starter Mobile 5 includes X in its price. Older buyers keep the $5 rate only while one legacy add-on stays active.

## The other add-ons, and the ones still coming

### Advanced Analytics

The Advanced Analytics add-on starts at $12 a month on Starter and $36 a month on Advanced [3]. It is bought once for the whole account and covers every brand. It unlocks the full Metricool Studio (reports built from a written prompt), full Campaign Dashboards and 30 days of detailed, day-by-day post analytics. Two details matter. The data is not retroactive, so collection starts the day you activate it. And the Free plan cannot buy it.

### Hashtag Tracker, by the day

The Hashtag Tracker is not in any plan. It costs $25 a day per network, and every four days you buy earn one free day. It follows hashtags on Instagram and X only, and the X version also needs a paid plan plus the X add-on. Metricool's pages give different caps for X (25,000 or 100,000 posts per session); Instagram is capped at 10,000. Think of it as a tool for a launch or an event, not a standing listening service. Metricool has no social listening beyond it.

### Studio, Campaign Dashboards and Flows: free for now

Three newer tools come at no extra charge on Starter and Advanced, but only for a limited time. Studio and Campaign Dashboards are announced as a future paid add-on, and so is Flows, the automation for direct messages and comments. Without the Advanced Analytics add-on, Studio is limited to two views of ten versions each, and Campaign Dashboards to three per brand. Studio is not on Free, and Flows is on neither Free nor the app-bought Starter Mobile 5. Do not build a budget around them staying free. *Treat them as a preview.*

## What real setups cost

Metricool's brand pricing turns into very different bills depending on how many brands, X accounts and people you have. Here are four common setups, priced by our arithmetic from the published rates. In each case, remember the totals exclude VAT. Each example adds the plan to the add-ons it needs, then shows the yearly bill or the cost per brand. Your numbers will differ. The method will not.

### A freelancer with five clients and two X accounts

Five brands fit Starter. On monthly billing, the plan is $25 and two X add-ons are $20, for $45 a month. On annual billing, the plan is $240 a year and the two add-ons are another $240, for $480 a year, or $40 a month. Notice what happened. The X accounts cost as much as the whole plan on annual billing. That same $45 a month would also buy Starter for ten brands on monthly billing, without X. For this freelancer, X is the biggest line on the invoice.

### A small business with one brand

One brand with Instagram, Facebook and TikTok and a few posts a week can live on Free, as long as 20 published posts a month is enough. The moment it needs LinkedIn, X, reports or more posting, Starter for five brands at $20 a month billed annually is the next step. That works out to $4 a brand a month, though a single business will use only one or two of those five slots. The spare slots are useful for a second location or a side project.

### An agency with 15 brands and a team

Fifteen brands and several staff members mean Advanced. Billed annually, it is $636 a year, or about $3.53 a brand a month. Paying month to month at $67 comes to $804 a year, so the annual plan saves $168. Add the Advanced Analytics add-on (from $36 a month) and three X accounts ($30 a month) on monthly billing, and the account runs from about $133 a month by our arithmetic, assuming the add-on's $36 starting price applies. That is still a team plan with unlimited users. Few rivals price a team that way.

### The 11th brand problem

The awkward step is growing from 10 brands to 11. Starter tops out at ten, so the 11th brand forces Advanced. On annual billing, that is a move from $36 a month to $53 a month, or $17 more. On monthly billing it is $45 to $67, or $22 more. The upgrade does bring users, approvals and the API, so a growing agency usually wants it anyway. A solo creator who simply collects brands may find the jump harder to justify.

> 💡 **Watch the jump past ten:** Starter stops at 10 brands, so the 11th brand moves you to Advanced. On annual billing that is $36 to $53 a month, but you gain unlimited users, approvals and the API.

## Billing rules to know before you pay

### No standard free trial

There is no standard free trial of the paid plans. The Free plan is the way to try Metricool. Trials exist only through codes, and the terms differ by code: affiliate codes give 30 days to first-time users who have never had a paid plan, and the DSC15 Looker Studio coupon gives a 15-day trial of Advanced (Custom has no trial); a payment method is required and you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid the charge. If a friend or creator offers you such a code, it is legitimate. Without one, start free and upgrade when you hit a limit.

### Refunds: 15 days, first purchase only

The refund window is narrow. You can withdraw within **15 calendar days of your first purchase of a paid plan**, and that right also covers add-ons such as the X add-on on their first purchase [4]. Automatic renewals are never refunded, monthly or annual. An annual plan can be cancelled mid-cycle, but there is no prorated refund. After cancelling, you keep the plan until the end of the cycle and then drop to Free. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method; PayPal is immediate and cards take five to ten business days.

### Upgrades, downgrades and failed payments

Upgrades take effect at once and you pay only the prorated difference for the rest of the cycle. Downgrades and cancellations wait until the cycle ends. Here is the trap: **Metricool keeps the oldest brands by creation date** by default. To keep different ones, delete the unwanted brands from the Connections panel before the downgrade or cancellation completes; after that, the choice is locked. The other brands are hidden, not deleted. If a payment fails, Metricool retries for several days, then moves the account to Free. Your data is kept and returns when you reactivate. It accepts cards and PayPal, but not prepaid or virtual cards.

### App purchases and VAT

Inside the iOS and Android apps, the only plan on sale is Starter Mobile 5: monthly only, billed by Apple or Google, with the X add-on included in its price and no promo codes. It shares the main Starter features, up to 5 brands, LinkedIn and reports, but not Flows. Cancellation and refunds go through the store. On the web, VAT may be added depending on your country, and any VAT or tax ID must match the company name. Metricool is based in Spain, so US customers get a W-8BEN-E rather than a W-9.

## How the price compares with Buffer, Hootsuite and Later

Each rival counts something different, which makes like-for-like comparison tricky. Buffer charges per channel: Essentials is $6 per channel a month billed monthly or $5 billed yearly, and Team is $12 or $10, with unlimited users on Team. Its Free plan covers three channels. A single business on four networks would pay $24 a month for four channels at that monthly rate, by our arithmetic. Metricool Starter is $25 a month billed monthly for up to 5 brands, each with all its networks. Buffer gets expensive as channels pile up; Metricool gets expensive as X accounts pile up. Our [Buffer pricing breakdown](/articles/buffer-pricing) has the volume tiers.

Hootsuite charges per user. Standard is $99 per user a month billed annually, with up to 10 social accounts, then Professional at $199 and Advanced at $399 per user a month billed annually. It has no free plan and no published month-to-month rate. Two people on Standard come to $198 a month by our arithmetic. Metricool Advanced, at $53 a month billed annually for up to 15 brands, has unlimited users. Hootsuite does offer listening, a fuller inbox and a SOC 2 report, while we found no published security certification for Metricool.

Later sells Social Sets of eight profiles, one per platform, which is close to a Metricool brand. Later Starter is $25 a month or $18.75 billed yearly for one Social Set, one user and 30 posts per profile a month; Growth is $50 or $37.50 for two sets, and Scale is $110 or $82.50 for six. Later removed X support in August 2025 and has no public API. For one identity, the two land near each other. For five brands, Metricool Starter at $20 a month billed annually (or $36 for up to ten) is far cheaper than Later Scale at $82.50 a month billed yearly.

## FAQ

**How much does Metricool cost?**

Free is $0 for one brand. Starter is $25 a month billed monthly or $20 a month billed annually for up to 5 brands, and Advanced is $67 a month or $53 billed annually for up to 15 brands. Prices exclude VAT.

**Does Metricool have a free trial?**

A card or PayPal is required, and you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid the charge.

**Is X (Twitter) included in Metricool plans?**

Not on web plans. X needs a paid plan plus the X add-on at $10 a month or $120 a year per connected X account (earlier buyers may keep $5 a month while a legacy add-on stays active). The in-app Starter Mobile 5 plan includes X in its price.

**Can I get a refund from Metricool?**

Only within 15 calendar days of your first purchase of a paid plan or add-on. Renewals, monthly or annual, are not refunded.

**Which Metricool plan includes team members and the API?**

Advanced and Custom. Starter has one user and no API, Zapier, approvals or Looker Studio connector.

**What happens to my brands if I downgrade?**

The downgrade takes effect at the end of the billing cycle and Metricool keeps the oldest brands by creation date by default. To keep different brands, delete the unwanted ones from the Connections panel before the downgrade completes; after that, the choice is locked. The others are hidden, not deleted.

## The bottom line

Metricool is one of the cheapest ways to manage many brands, because it charges by brand rather than by seat or channel, and Advanced gives a team unlimited users at $53 a month billed annually for up to 15 brands. Budget for three extras before you sign: the X add-on at $10 a month per account, Advanced Analytics if you want full Studio, and the end of the free period for Studio, Campaign Dashboards and Flows. Start on Free, count your brands and the X add-ons you need, and pay annually only when you are sure, since the refund window is 15 days on the first purchase only.
