# Pipedrive Pricing: $14 to $79 a Seat, and Where the Bill Leaves the List

> Pipedrive's four plans on both billing terms, the add-ons that are free only from Premium, the top-up packs, and the worked case where Growth plus add-ons costs more than Premium.

Pipedrive sells four plans and publishes the price of all four. There is no free tier,
no quote-only tier and no contact form standing between you and a number, which in this category is
unusual enough to lead with.

What the page does not make obvious is where the money actually goes. That is the part this page is
for.

**OUR TAKE:** The list price is honest and the bill is bigger than the list. Budget at the plan
where the add-ons become included rather than the plan whose features you are reading, count seats
rather than people, and treat the advertised 42 per cent annual saving as belonging to the cheapest
plan, because it does.

**$273 vs $295** — Five seats a month on Growth with LeadBooster and Smart Docs, against Premium with both included.

- **20.2%** — The real annual saving on Ultimate, against the 42% the pricing page advertises.
- **$400/year** — The threshold above which implementation is free. What it costs below is not published.
- **50 then $50** — Automations included on Growth, then the monthly price of each pack of fifty more.

## The rates

Per seat, per month. The second column is the monthly rate when the year is paid up front.

| Plan | Month to month | Billed annually | Per seat per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $24 | $14 | $168 |
| Growth | $49 | $39 | $468 |
| Premium | $79 | $59 | $708 |
| Ultimate | $99 | $79 | $948 |

Prices exclude VAT. The vendor states that EU customers are billed at their member state's rate
unless they supply a valid VAT number[1].

A 14-day trial comes with no credit card and, unusually, no cap on how many people you invite into
it[1].

> 💡 **undefined:** Build the quote at the plan where your add-ons stop being extra. On any account using LeadBooster or Smart Docs, Premium at $59 a seat is within a rounding error of Growth at $39 plus those two, and carries triple the custom fields, five times the reports and three times the automations.

## What the annual discount is really worth

The pricing page advertises savings of up to 42 per cent for paying annually. That number is
calculated from the cheapest plan and nowhere else:

| Plan | Saving on annual billing |
|---|---|
| Lite | 41.7% |
| Growth | 20.4% |
| Premium | 25.3% |
| Ultimate | 20.2% |

If you are pricing Ultimate, the twelve-month commitment is worth 20 per cent, not 42. The gap
between those two numbers on a ten-seat Ultimate account is about $2,600 a year of expectation that
the page does not meet.

## Seats, not people

You are billed by the number of seats on the account whether or not anyone is sitting in them, and
the vendor says so directly[3]. Three things follow.

An empty seat bills. When someone leaves, the seat they vacated keeps charging until you remove it.

Removing it is not immediate. The change takes effect at the start of the next billing
cycle[3], which on annual billing can mean paying for a seat nobody uses for the better part of
a year.

And seats cannot be mixed. Every seat added goes onto the plan already being billed[2], so a
team that needs one person on Premium features pays Premium for everybody.

No seat minimum is published anywhere we could read. That is worth a written question before you
commit.

> 💡 **undefined:** If you are automating, compare a Growth account with automation packs against plain Premium. Fifty automations plus one pack is $89 a seat equivalent before anything else; Premium includes 150.

## The add-ons, which is where the real step is

| Add-on | Monthly price | Lite | Growth | Premium | Ultimate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LeadBooster | $39 | paid | paid | included | included |
| Projects | $20 | paid | paid | included | included |
| Smart Docs | $39 (to 30 docs) | paid | paid | included | included |
| Campaigns | by contact count | paid | paid | paid | paid |
| Web Visitors | from $49 | paid | paid | paid | paid |

The vendor's own wording is that only Premium and Ultimate include some add-ons at no additional
cost[2].

Do the arithmetic that the page does not. A Growth seat is $39 on annual billing. Add LeadBooster
and Smart Docs, which Premium includes free, and the same seat is $117. Premium is $59. The list
price gap between Growth and Premium is $20 a seat; the gap that actually exists, for any team that
needs lead capture or documents, runs the other way.

Campaigns is metered by contacts rather than seats, in bands that start at $0.016 per contact per
month up to a thousand contacts and fall to $0.003 above forty thousand[1]. Web Visitors is
metered by identified organizations: $49 a month up to 200, $99 up to 500, $299 up to 2,000[4].

A note on the cards. The pricing page advertises these from $32.50, $16 and $13.33. None of those
figures names a billing period. They reconcile only as the annual price divided by twelve, and the
page never says so, so treat them as annual rates presented without their term.

## Top-ups, which are a second price list

From Growth upwards, capacity can be bought in packs, up to ten of each[2]:

| Pack | Quantity | Monthly | Annual |
|---|---|---|---|
| API tokens | +250,000 | $100 | $1,000 |
| Leads and deals | +25,000 | $100 | $1,000 |
| Reports | +50 | $50 | $500 |
| Automations | +50 | $50 | $500 |
| Custom fields | — | $50 | $500 |
| Team management | +10 each | $100 | $1,000 |

Teams, visibility groups and permission sets are sold together as one bundle rather than
separately[2]. Data enrichment credits run at $0.10 each monthly, and prospector credits start
at $1 and fall to $0.30 in volume bands[1].

Two of these are worth planning around. Automations cap at 50 on Growth, so a team that automates
seriously will either buy packs at $50 a month or move to Premium, and Premium is often cheaper.
And the custom fields pack appears in the vendor's pricing data but not in the top-up table of its
own documentation, so ask about it rather than assuming it exists on your account.

> 💡 **undefined:** Ask for the implementation terms in writing if your plan lands under $400 a year, because one or two Lite seats fall below the threshold and the vendor publishes no figure for that case.

## How the rates compare

Pipedrive does not sit at either end of this category. It sits in the middle, and the shape of the
ladder matters more than the entry price.

| | Entry paid, annual | Mid tier, annual | Free plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pipedrive | $14 | $59 | none |
| Zoho CRM | $14 | $23 | 3 users |
| HubSpot | $7 | $90 | yes |
| Salesforce | $25 | $195 | none |

Two readings come out of that table.

The first is that a cheap entry price tells you very little. HubSpot opens at $7 and steps to $90,
a jump of roughly thirteen times, with onboarding fees attached at the upper tiers. Pipedrive opens
at double that and steps to $59. The team that outgrows the entry plan, which is most teams, pays
less here.

The second is that Pipedrive has no free tier while two of its three main rivals do. For a solo
operator or a two-person business testing whether a CRM is needed at all, that is a real
difference, and the 14-day trial is the only answer to it.

Where Pipedrive is unambiguously ahead is the absence of a wall. Every plan is published and every
plan takes a card. Salesforce's upper editions and HubSpot's enterprise tiers both involve a
conversation. Here the most expensive plan on offer is $79 a seat, and you can buy it on a Tuesday
afternoon without speaking to anyone.

## Implementation

Implementation is free when you sign up for a plan over $400 a year[1]. What it costs below that
threshold is not published.

That threshold is low enough to clear with three Lite seats on annual billing and high enough that
a one or two seat Lite account falls under it. If you are starting small, this is a line item with
no published number, which is the kind of thing to settle in writing first.

> ⚠ **undefined:** The add-on cards advertise prices with no billing period attached. Those figures only reconcile as the annual price divided by twelve, so a monthly buyer reading them is reading the wrong number.

## The cost of a real account

Five sales people, annual billing, lead capture and documents in use. The list says Growth is
cheaper than Premium. The bill says otherwise.

| | Growth | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| 5 seats | $195/mo | $295/mo |
| LeadBooster | $39/mo | included |
| Smart Docs | $39/mo | included |
| Total | $273/mo | $295/mo |
| Per year | $3,276 | $3,540 |

Twenty-two dollars a month apart, with Premium carrying triple the custom fields, five times the
reports, three times the automations, five times the sequences, three email syncs per seat instead
of one, a team inbox, lead routing, custom scoring and e-signatures[1]. On this shape of
account, Growth is not the economy choice. It is the same money for less product.

## Monthly or annual

The decision is not the same on every plan, which is the point the banner obscures.

On Lite, annual billing takes the rate from $24 to $14, which is 41.7 per cent, and that is a
genuinely large discount for a twelve-month commitment on a cheap plan. On Growth and Ultimate the
same commitment is worth almost exactly 20 per cent.

Set that against what the commitment costs you. Seats release only at the next billing cycle, so on
annual billing a seat freed in month two is paid through month twelve. A team whose headcount moves
during the year is buying the discount with flexibility it may need. At 20 per cent, on a plan
where one departure can waste most of a seat-year, monthly billing is a defensible choice. At 41.7
per cent on Lite it rarely is.

> ⚠ **undefined:** The custom fields pack is priced in the vendor's own pricing data but missing from the top-up table in its documentation. Confirm it is available on your account rather than planning around it.

## Campaigns and the metered add-ons

Two of the six add-ons are not priced per seat at all, which makes them easy to under-budget.

Campaigns, the email marketing add-on, is billed by contact count in bands. Monthly, it runs
$0.016 per contact up to a thousand, $0.008 up to two thousand, $0.006 up to twenty-five thousand,
$0.005 up to forty thousand and $0.003 above that[1]. A list of ten thousand contacts therefore
costs about $60 a month, which is more than a Premium seat.

Web Visitors is billed by identified organizations rather than by contacts or seats: $49 a month up
to 200, $99 up to 500, $299 up to 2,000[4]. The vendor notes that the figure is set from the
average number of unique identified organizations after excluding ISPs, crawlers and irrelevant
traffic, so the band you land in is determined after the fact rather than chosen.

Prospector credits, which reveal contact people at those organizations, are free for the first ten
each month, then $1 each to forty, $0.50 to a hundred, $0.40 to 250 and $0.30 above[1]. On
Premium and Ultimate they are included.

Neither of the metered add-ons has a ceiling you set. Both have a bill that follows your usage, and
both are paid on all four plans.

## A fifteen-seat account

The five-seat case above is the common one. Here is what the same arithmetic does at a size where
the top plan starts to make sense.

Fifteen seats, annual billing, a team that automates, reports and needs organisational structure:

| | Growth | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| 15 seats | $585/mo | $885/mo |
| LeadBooster | $39/mo | included |
| Smart Docs | $39/mo | included |
| 2 automation packs | $100/mo | not needed |
| Total | $763/mo | $885/mo |
| Per year | $9,156 | $10,620 |

Premium costs about $1,460 a year more and brings 150 automations instead of 50 plus two packs,
300 custom fields instead of 100, 250 reports a seat instead of 50, three email syncs a seat
instead of one, fifteen teams and visibility groups where Growth has none, lead routing, custom
scoring, e-signatures and phone support.

At five seats the two plans are a rounding error apart. At fifteen the gap is real, and it is still
the smaller of the two numbers that buys less.

> ⚠ **undefined:** Legacy plan names are still priced in the page's data at up to double the current packs, and appear nowhere public. If you are a long-standing customer, ask which price list you are actually on.

## What is not published

The seat minimum. The price of the meeting intelligence feature, which the comparison table shows
as included while the page's own data prices it at $25 a seat per month. What implementation costs
under $400 a year. The annual saving per plan, as opposed to the maximum. And the rates for the
legacy plan names that still sit priced in the page's data but appear nowhere public, which means
long-standing customers are on price lists nobody can read.

## FAQ

**How much is Pipedrive per month?**

Month to month: $24 a seat on Lite, $49 on Growth, $79 on Premium, $99 on Ultimate. On annual billing those fall to $14, $39, $59 and $79, which is $168 to $948 per seat for the year. VAT is extra.

**Does Pipedrive charge for unused seats?**

Yes. The vendor states you are charged by the number of seats whether or not a user occupies them, and that removing a seat takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle.

**Which Pipedrive add-ons cost extra?**

LeadBooster, Projects and Smart Docs are paid on Lite and Growth and included on Premium and Ultimate. Campaigns and Web Visitors are paid on all four plans.

**Is there a minimum number of seats?**

None is published on the pricing page, in the comparison table or in either billing article. That is silence rather than a stated absence, so ask before signing.

**What happens if I need more automations?**

From Growth upwards you can buy packs of fifty more at $50 a month or $500 a year, up to ten packs. Beyond one or two packs, moving to Premium is usually cheaper.

## Before you sign

Count seats rather than headcount, and ask in writing what happens to a seat you release mid-term.

Price the plan at which your add-ons stop being extra, then compare that number with the plan you
were going to buy.

If you are taking annual billing, check what the discount is on your plan rather than the one on
the banner.

And get the cancellation process in writing. Across a hundred reviews, every single one that
mentioned cancellation was a one-star review. Seven per cent of the corpus, with no exceptions.
