**30 days** — Full refund window: run every check below inside it, since booking links cannot be tried without a paid plan.

- **$10** — Basic per user a month, annual
- **3 languages** — for booking pages
- **0 SMS** — native text reminders

## Free versus paid: what you can test before you pay

SavvyCal is a meeting scheduler from a small independent company in Minneapolis, built around one idea: the person booking can overlay their own calendar on your link and pick a time that suits both of you. Before you compare features, settle what you can try without a card. The answer is less than the word *free* on the site suggests. You can sign up and set up your account for free, and meeting polls are free with no ads. But your own booking links only go live on a paid plan, and there is no time-limited trial. The safety net is a 30-day refund instead.

- Confirm that the person evaluating can set up links, availability and integrations on the free account before anyone pays.
- Plan your real test inside the 30-day refund window: a full refund applies when you cancel within 30 days of starting a subscription.
- Note that after 30 days, refunds are partial or full at SavvyCal's sole discretion.
- If your team mainly needs group polls, check whether the free, unlimited, ad-free polls cover you on their own.
- Ignore older SavvyCal blog posts that describe other offers; the current pricing FAQ says sign up free, then upgrade to activate links.

## Plan fit: Basic or Premium

The plan decision is narrower than in most scheduling tools, because team scheduling sits on the cheaper plan. Basic costs $12 per user a month billed monthly or $10 billed annually, and Premium costs $20 or $17 [1]. Both include unlimited links, polls, calendar connections and teams. Premium adds five specific things, and if none of them is on your list, Basic is the right answer. Run through these checks before you choose, and count seats carefully, because SavvyCal bills every invited teammate as a user.

- Do you need to charge at booking? Paid bookings through Stripe are Premium only.
- Do links need to live on your own domain, or emails come from your own address? Custom domains and sender profiles are Premium only.
- Must the SavvyCal name disappear from your pages? Branding removal is Premium; colors, avatar and banner are on Basic.
- Does an assistant manage your calendar? Delegated access is Premium, though the assistant does not need a paid account.
- Count every person who will host or join a round robin pool: each is a paid seat, and seats sync automatically as people join or leave.
- Ask support whether the 25% discount for students, educators and non-profits applies to you.

For a sense of scale, five people on annual Basic pay $600 a year, while the same five on annual Premium pay $1,020, by our arithmetic. Seats move up together, so one person's need for payments or a custom domain can raise the bill for everyone on the subscription if the whole team sits on Premium. Ask support before upgrading everyone. For the full math by team size and billing period, see our [SavvyCal pricing guide](/articles/savvycal-pricing).

## Team scheduling modes

SavvyCal covers the three team patterns most buyers need, and all three are on Basic. Collective links show only times when you and every included teammate are free and add everyone to the invite. Round robin links spread meetings across a pool. Group mode lets several people book the same slot, for webinars, office hours or group coaching. **What it does not have is routing forms**, so you cannot send a booker to a different person based on their answers. Sales teams that qualify leads with a form will feel it first; the nearest substitute is a prioritized round robin pool. Test the mode you will use most against your own team's calendars. Do it early.

- Round robin: decide between optimizing for availability (the next available person) and evenness (cycling through the pool for equal distribution).
- Check whether you need priority ordering. It lets a sales pool go first and fall back to support, but works only in the availability mode.
- Collective: check optional attendees, who are invited but whose free and busy time is ignored.
- Confirm that people outside your company can share their availability on a collective link; they can, as guests, for free.
- Check whether admins and assistants need to book on behalf of others; a dedicated booking screen for this arrived in November 2025.
- If you need routing by form answers, stop here. SavvyCal has no routing forms.

## Reminders, workflows and the SMS gap

Reminders are where SavvyCal is thinnest. Workflows send email: reminders, follow-ups and extra notices to internal addresses, triggered when an event is created, starts or ends, with offsets in minutes, hours or days. There is no native SMS reminder. SavvyCal can always collect a phone number, and the vendor itself suggests texting through Zapier. For businesses where no-shows cost money, that is a real gap. **Price the extra automation before you sign.**

- Confirm that email reminders alone are acceptable for your bookers.
- If you need text reminders, budget for a Zapier workflow and test it; SavvyCal does not send SMS.
- Turn on phone number collection if you plan to text; the field can be required or optional.
- Check calendar reminder defaults, which you can set under Settings, Links, Calendar Reminders.
- Use the option to block last-minute changes, added in May 2026, which locks booker reschedules from 15 minutes up to a week before the start; hosts can still change.
- If several people share workflows, note that workflows can be duplicated and reassigned since July 2026.

## Payments at booking

Payments run through Stripe and need Premium. A link can be tied to a Stripe product so the booker pays before the time is reserved, and any payment method you enable in Stripe works, including cards, bank transfers, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Stripe Tax can calculate sales tax, VAT or GST. There are two operating details that catch buyers out. Canceled paid meetings are not refunded automatically, and the slot is held for only 10 minutes during checkout. Plan for both.

- Confirm you have, or will open, a Stripe account; SavvyCal offers no other processor.
- Decide how you will handle refunds, since they are left to the organizer.
- Check whether pay-what-you-want pricing helps; Stripe products with a customer-chosen price are supported.
- Consider saving cards on file in your Stripe account for repeat clients.
- Budget Premium for every seat that needs to take payment.

## CRM and integrations

The integration list is short and focused. Calendars cover Google, Microsoft Outlook, iCloud and Fastmail. Conferencing covers Zoom, Google Meet and Whereby. On the CRM side there are two native options, HubSpot and Close, plus Kit for email marketing, Slack notifications, Fathom Analytics and a native Zapier app with triggers for new, rescheduled and canceled events. **There is no Salesforce integration.** If your pipeline lives in Salesforce, this check ends the evaluation.

- CRM: confirm you use HubSpot or Close; there is no Salesforce connector.
- HubSpot: note that SavvyCal meetings do not appear in HubSpot's Meetings tool, and that existing contacts' properties and owners are not updated.
- HubSpot: match each user's SavvyCal email to their HubSpot email, or new contacts get an unassigned owner.
- HubSpot: watch for duplicate events if HubSpot's own calendar sync is also on.
- Zoom: turn off the personal meeting ID setting so each booking gets a unique meeting.
- iCloud: plan for an Apple app-specific password with two-factor authentication.
- Group events in Zapier: use the New Event Attendee trigger, because New Event carries empty scheduler data.

## API and webhooks

The developer platform is usable but small. The REST API at api.savvycal.com accepts personal access tokens or OAuth 2, and anyone can register an OAuth app in settings. It covers events, scheduling links, the current user, time zones, webhooks and read-only workflows. Webhooks are signed with HMAC SHA-256 and retried with exponential backoff, and the developer docs list 16 event types [10]. Gaps show up at the edges. Our [SavvyCal API guide](/articles/savvycal-api) goes deeper.

- Check that the endpoints you need exist: there is no API section for polls or contacts, and workflows are read-only.
- Note that no rate limits or plan requirement are published; ask support before building anything heavy.
- Plan token refresh for OAuth, since access tokens last two hours.
- Verify webhook signatures from the x-savvycal-signature header.
- Use UTM parameters on links if you track campaigns; they are stored on the event and exposed through webhooks, the API and Zapier.
- Export the OpenAPI specification to speed up client code.

## Security and compliance gaps

This is the section that rules SavvyCal out for some buyers. Read it closely. The company does not hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification itself; it points to its infrastructure providers, which do [5]. There is no SSO or SAML, and sign-in runs through Google, Microsoft or Fastmail accounts. There is no bug bounty. The Terms forbid collecting protected health information through the service, so it is not for HIPAA work [3]. On the plus side, calendar event data is never stored persistently, and third-party tokens are encrypted before storage.

- If procurement asks for a SOC 2 report or ISO 27001 certificate, SavvyCal cannot supply its own.
- If you need SSO or SAML, rule it out.
- Healthcare and any use involving health data: the Terms forbid it.
- Review the data processing agreement, which includes standard contractual clauses and a UK addendum and was last updated January 16, 2023.
- Note that data is processed in the United States, with hosting mainly in Virginia.
- Check the sub-processor list, last updated July 9, 2025, and the 30-day notice for changes.
- Note that the security page itself was last updated January 16, 2023.

## Languages, booking pages and embeds

Booking pages are SavvyCal's strongest area. The booker sees a week view, can overlay their own calendar, and can pick among several durations on one link. Links can be personalized for a recipient, limited by date ranges or capped by frequency. Embedding works through a JavaScript library, inline or as a popover, with dark mode. The weak spot is language. Since March 2026, booking pages detect the visitor's language, but only English, French and Dutch are supported.

- If your bookers speak Spanish, German or another language, booking pages will not be translated for them.
- Test the calendar overlay with a few real clients; it is the main reason buyers choose SavvyCal.
- Check custom questions: short text, checkboxes, radio buttons, select menus and website URLs.
- Check approval-required links if you vet bookings before they reach your calendar.
- On Wix, redirecting to a custom confirmation page is not supported.
- Confirm that a booking page with SavvyCal branding is acceptable on Basic.

## Support, company size and release pace

Buy SavvyCal knowing who stands behind it. It is an indie company funded by TinySeed and a few angels, founded by Derrick Reimer, and its company page lists him plus two support staff. The home page claims over 2,000 customers. Support is email only, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm US Central, with replies within 24 hours, plus a knowledge base and status page. The public changelog shows a slowing pace: 37 entries in 2021, 25 in 2022, 16 in 2023, 11 in 2024, 4 in 2025 and 7 so far in 2026.

- If you need phone support or weekend coverage, it is not offered.
- Check whether 24-hour email replies fit your booking-critical hours.
- Note there is no native iOS or Android app and no AI features.
- Read recent changelog entries to judge whether the features you need are moving.
- Public reviews are too few to judge; weigh your own trial more heavily than ratings.

## Migration and switching costs

Moving to SavvyCal is mostly about replacing links. The help center offers a migration checklist of places to swap old scheduling links: your website, your emails, your product and your support content. Plan the cutover so old links keep working until bookings made on them are done. Leaving is clean too. Cancelling keeps your data until you reactivate, and the Events page exports your history as a CSV file, so a failed trial inside the refund window costs you little more than the time spent setting up links and workflows.

- List every place your current booking links appear before you switch.
- Ask support whether existing bookings and event types can be carried over, or plan to rebuild links by hand.
- Export upcoming, past and canceled events as CSV before any change, including scheduler emails, phone numbers and answers.
- Cancel rather than delete if you might return; deletion is permanent.
- Compare the shortlist in our [SavvyCal alternatives](/articles/savvycal-alternatives) before committing a large team.

> 💡 **Test the overlay with clients:** Send a few real bookers a link during the refund window. The calendar overlay is the main reason to choose SavvyCal, so see whether your clients use it.

> 💡 **Map every seat first:** List who hosts, who joins a round robin pool and who only needs polls. Only the first two groups need paid seats.

> ⚠ **Compliance is a hard stop:** SavvyCal has no SSO, no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 of its own and forbids health information. If procurement asks for any of these, look elsewhere.

## FAQ

**Can I try SavvyCal before paying?**

You can sign up, set up your account and use meeting polls for free. Activating booking links needs a paid plan, backed by a full refund if you cancel within 30 days.

**Does SavvyCal send SMS reminders?**

No. Workflows send email only, and SavvyCal suggests texting through Zapier.

**Does SavvyCal integrate with Salesforce?**

No. Its native CRM integrations are HubSpot and Close, plus Zapier for other tools.

**Is SavvyCal SOC 2 certified?**

Not itself. Its security page says its core infrastructure providers hold SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications.

**Which languages do SavvyCal booking pages support?**

English, French and Dutch, with automatic detection of the visitor's language since March 2026.

**How do I reach SavvyCal support?**

By email at support@savvycal.com, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm US Central, with replies within 24 hours.

## The bottom line

SavvyCal passes this checklist for small teams that book meetings by email, live in Google or Outlook, use HubSpot or Close, and value a polished booking page with calendar overlay. Team scheduling on the cheaper plan and a 30-day refund lower the risk of trying it. It fails the checklist for anyone who needs text reminders, Salesforce, routing forms, SSO, a SOC 2 report, HIPAA coverage, booking pages in more than three languages or support by phone. Run the checks above inside the refund window, and decide on facts, not on the overlay demo alone.
