# SavvyCal vs Calendly: Same Entry Price, Very Different Tools

> SavvyCal vs Calendly: both start at $12 a seat, but SavvyCal bundles round robin and an overlay while Calendly adds a free plan, SMS, Salesforce and AI.

**$360** — A year saved by a five-person team on SavvyCal Basic instead of Calendly Teams, billed annually, by our arithmetic.

- **$12 / $10** — entry seat on both, monthly / annual
- **250** — Calendly SMS credits per seat a month
- **0** — SavvyCal native SMS, mobile or AI features

## The short answer

SavvyCal and Calendly charge the same entry price, $12 per seat a month or $10 billed annually, and then head in opposite directions. SavvyCal spends its effort on the person receiving the link: a calendar overlay, ranked availability and team features such as round robin on its cheapest plan. Calendly spends its effort on breadth: a free tier, SMS reminders, routing forms, Salesforce, mobile apps, AI and an enterprise plan. **SavvyCal wins on recipient experience and team value; Calendly wins on almost everything else.** Which matters more depends on who books with you and what your stack already runs on. The sections below take each area in turn, with prices from both pricing pages.

## What the recipient sees

This is the reason SavvyCal exists. When someone opens a SavvyCal link, they see a week view and can overlay their own calendar on top of the host's, so mutual free time is visible at a glance. Hosts can also rank their availability, so preferred windows are presented first and guests are nudged toward the times that suit the host best. One link can offer several durations that the recipient picks on the page, according to SavvyCal's own comparison page [8]. Personalized links can prefill a recipient's name and email, and single-use links archive themselves after one booking.

### Calendly's booking page

Calendly's booking page is the familiar model: invitees pick a time from the host's open slots, on a customizable page that can be embedded inline, as a popup widget or as popup text. It also offers one-off meetings and meeting polls. Invitees never need a seat or an account. Calendly's advantages lie further back in the process, in routing, reminders and integrations, rather than in the booking screen itself. If the people you book are busy executives, candidates or podcast guests juggling their own calendars, the overlay is a genuine courtesy. If they are customers booking a quick call, the difference is smaller than SavvyCal's marketing suggests.

## Prices per seat, monthly and annual

Both tools bill per seat, and both offer a discount for annual billing [1] [16]. The entry plans match exactly, down to the annual discount. Above that, the two vendors split the features very differently, and that split matters more than any sticker price. SavvyCal has just two paid plans, Basic and Premium, and puts nearly all scheduling features on the cheaper one. Calendly has five paid tiers and moves team scheduling, AI and enterprise controls up the ladder. The table lines up the plan each feature needs on each side.

| Plan detail | SavvyCal | Calendly |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Free scheduling | None (polls and account only) | Free plan, one event type |
| Entry seat, monthly / annual | $12 / $10 (Basic) | $12 / $10 (Standard) |
| Round robin and collective | Basic, $12 / $10 | Teams, $20 / $16 |
| Branding removal | Premium, $20 / $17 | Standard, $12 / $10 |
| Card payments at booking | Premium, $20 / $17 | Standard, $12 / $10 |
| AI features | None | Standard Plus, $24 / $18 |
| Top tier | Premium, $20 / $17 | Enterprise, $15,000 a year, 50 seats |

### What a real team pays

The split above decides the bill. A five-person team that needs round robin pays $600 a year on SavvyCal Basic against $960 on Calendly Teams, a gap of $360, by our arithmetic. A solo consultant who wants to take Stripe payments and remove branding pays $204 a year on SavvyCal Premium against $120 on Calendly Standard. **So SavvyCal is cheaper for teams and dearer for paid solo bookings.** Refund terms differ too. SavvyCal offers a 30-day money-back guarantee and 25% off for students, educators and non-profits, while Calendly's Customer Terms make fees non-refundable and let renewals rise by CPI plus 3%.

> 💡 **Price the plan you need:** Compare SavvyCal Basic with Calendly Teams if you need round robin, and SavvyCal Premium with Calendly Standard if you need payments or branding removal. The cheaper tool flips between the two cases.

## Free plans: polls versus a real free tier

This is Calendly's clearest win. Calendly Free is permanent for one user, with one event type, one connected calendar, unlimited one-on-one meetings, a customizable booking page, the mobile app and the browser extension. Every new account also starts with a 14-day trial of paid features before dropping to Free. The free tier has real limits: no group, collective or round-robin events, no automations or reminders, no payments and no CRM or Zapier connections. Still, a freelancer can share a working booking link for years without paying anything.

SavvyCal has no free scheduling plan. A free account lets you set up, run unlimited meeting polls without ads or a card, overlay your calendar on other people's links and be booked as a guest. External people can also share their availability with you for free. But your own scheduling links stay inactive until you pay, and the same rule applies to anyone who acts as an organizer on someone else's link or joins a round robin pool. **If a free plan is a requirement, the choice is already made.** If you would pay anyway, the 30-day refund window lowers the risk of trying SavvyCal.

## Team scheduling and routing

SavvyCal's team offer is generous for the price. Basic includes collective links, where only slots that work for every included teammate are offered, round robin and a group mode with several schedulers per slot. Round robin can optimize for availability or for evenness, pool members can be given priority, and specific attendees can be excluded from the pool so they join every call. Seats are billed automatically as teammates join, and a person in several teams of one organization is not charged twice. Admins and assistants can book on behalf of others, a feature added in November 2025, though delegated account access needs Premium.

Calendly holds team features back for its Teams plan, but it goes further once you are there. Teams adds round robin with the Distribution Engine, managed event types, groups and admins, team analytics and routing forms that work with Calendly, HubSpot, Marketo and Pardot forms. Enterprise adds routing by Salesforce lookup. **SavvyCal has no routing forms at all.** For a sales team that qualifies leads before assigning a rep, that gap is decisive, and Calendly is the stronger pick. For a small team that simply shares calls fairly, SavvyCal delivers round robin for less.

## Reminders, SMS and workflows

SavvyCal's workflows automate messages at five points in a meeting's life: after it is scheduled, before it starts, after it starts, before it ends and after it ends. Workflows can copy extra recipients, such as a colleague who should know about a booking, and since July 2026 they can be duplicated and reassigned to another person or team. Every action is an email. There are no native SMS reminders, and SavvyCal's own suggestion is to collect phone numbers and text through Zapier. That workaround costs a second subscription and some setup time.

Calendly includes automations and reminders from Standard upward, with up to 50 automations per user or team. Paid plans below Enterprise carry 250 SMS credits per seat a month, so text reminders work without another tool. For businesses where a missed meeting costs real money, such as sales demos or client consultations, native text reminders are a strong argument for Calendly. For internal meetings and calls between professionals who live in their inboxes, SavvyCal's email workflows will usually be enough.

> ⚠ **No texts without Zapier:** SavvyCal workflows send email only. If your no-show rate depends on SMS reminders, budget for Zapier and a texting service, or choose Calendly.

## CRM, payments and AI

On CRM, SavvyCal connects to HubSpot and Close. The HubSpot integration creates contacts and logs meeting activities on the links you choose, but it does not update properties or the owner of existing contacts, and SavvyCal meetings do not appear in HubSpot's own Meetings tool. There is no Salesforce. Calendly offers HubSpot on Standard, Salesforce and Marketo sync on Teams, routing by HubSpot assignment, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 on Enterprise. **For Salesforce shops, Calendly is the only one of the two that fits.**

Payments run through Stripe in SavvyCal, on Premium only. The slot is held for ten minutes during checkout, pay-what-you-want prices are supported, cards can be saved, and refunds for cancelled meetings are left to the organizer. Calendly takes Stripe and PayPal on Standard and adds payment links, meeting packages and invoices. On AI, the gap is total. SavvyCal has no AI features. Calendly sells Notetaker, which records and transcribes Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams calls, and Callie, an assistant that schedules over email, on Standard Plus and Teams Plus, in English only. It also launched an official MCP server in March 2026.

## API, apps and integrations

SavvyCal's developer platform is small but clean, and it comes with Basic. The REST API v1 accepts personal access tokens or OAuth 2, with access tokens that last two hours and refresh tokens. It covers events, scheduling links, the current user, time zones, webhooks and read-only workflows, and ranked availability is exposed in the slot data. The developer docs list 16 webhook event types, signed with HMAC SHA-256 and retried with exponential backoff. No rate limits are published. Calendly runs API v2 with webhooks, OAuth and personal access tokens, publishes a limit of 50 requests per user per minute on Free, and keeps its Scheduling API for creating invitees on paid plans.

### Apps and the wider stack

Apps are another clear split. SavvyCal has no native iOS or Android app; it offers a Chrome extension that also works in Brave and Microsoft Edge and proposes times inside Gmail. Calendly includes a mobile app and browser extensions even on Free. Calendly also lists more than 100 integrations, including Webex, GoTo Meeting, Slack, Intercom and LinkedIn. SavvyCal's integrations directory is shorter: Google, Outlook, iCloud and Fastmail calendars, Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Whereby, HubSpot, Close, Stripe, Slack and three Zapier triggers. If your work happens on a phone between meetings, that difference will be felt daily.

## Security, compliance and the vendor behind each

SavvyCal publishes a plain security page. Traffic is encrypted with TLS 1.3, third-party access tokens are encrypted before storage, and the app runs on Fly.io in Virginia with its database on AWS in the US east region [5]. A data processing agreement names the Irish regulator for EU GDPR matters. But SavvyCal holds no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certificate of its own, offers no SSO or SAML and runs no bug bounty. Calendly sells SAML SSO as an add-on on annual Teams and includes SSO, SCIM, domain control, an audit log and a Data Deletion API on Enterprise. Neither suits health data: SavvyCal's Terms forbid protected health information, and Calendly does not comply with HIPAA.

### Vendor size and reviews

The vendors could hardly be more different. SavvyCal is an indie company in Minneapolis, founded by Derrick Reimer, a co-founder of Drip, and backed by TinySeed and a few angels. Its company page lists him and two support staff, and its home page claims over 2,000 customers. Support is email only on weekdays, with replies within 24 hours, and the changelog has slowed from 37 entries in 2021 to four in 2025. Calendly sells an Enterprise plan with onboarding and implementation, dedicated account support and phone support, on an annual contract. For a buyer, size cuts both ways. A tiny vendor answers to its customers directly and keeps the product focused. It also ships fewer features each year, and the gaps listed above are unlikely to close soon.

**What users rate it, by platform**

_Rendered from our current record; these are other platforms' user scores, separate from our own Toolkit Score._

SavvyCal's public reviews are too few to judge: only a handful on Capterra, Software Advice and Product Hunt, no Trustpilot listing and no indexed G2 rating. The praise SavvyCal publishes on its own site centers on the overlay, including a founder who says he cancelled Calendly for it, but a testimonial is not a sample. Treat the review cards with that imbalance in mind. A thin record is not a bad record. It is an unknown.

## Who wins for which buyer

Most buyers can settle this with one question: does your process end at the booking page, or does it continue into a CRM, a phone and an automation stack? The more it continues, the more Calendly's breadth pays off. The more the booking itself matters, the more SavvyCal's design does. Team size counts as well, because SavvyCal's round robin on Basic saves real money as seats are added.

- **Small teams sharing calls fairly:** SavvyCal, because round robin comes with Basic.
- **Hosts booking busy outsiders:** SavvyCal, for the overlay and ranked availability.
- **Freelancers who will not pay:** Calendly, the only one with a free plan.
- **Sales teams on Salesforce or with routing forms:** Calendly Teams.
- **Anyone who needs SMS reminders, a mobile app or AI:** Calendly.
- **Companies that need SSO or SCIM:** Calendly.

For a deeper look at either tool, read our [SavvyCal review](/articles/savvycal-review) and our [Calendly review](/articles/calendly-review). Both go plan by plan with the same scoring method, so the trade-offs above sit in a wider context of ease, value, support and integrations. If you lean toward SavvyCal, check the absences against your process before you buy: SMS, Salesforce, routing forms, a mobile app, AI and SSO. If none of them appears on your list, its lower team price and kinder booking page are hard to beat.

> 💡 **Use the refund window:** SavvyCal has no free scheduling plan but offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Run real bookings through it in that month before you commit a team.

## FAQ

**Is SavvyCal cheaper than Calendly?**

For teams that need round robin, yes: SavvyCal includes it on Basic at $10 per seat a month billed annually, while Calendly needs Teams at $16. For solo users who want Stripe payments, Calendly Standard is cheaper than SavvyCal Premium.

**Does SavvyCal have a free plan like Calendly?**

No. SavvyCal's free account covers meeting polls and calendar overlay, but booking links need a paid plan. Calendly Free gives one user one event type and unlimited one-on-one meetings.

**Does SavvyCal integrate with Salesforce?**

No. SavvyCal's CRM integrations are HubSpot and Close. Calendly syncs with Salesforce on Teams and routes by Salesforce lookup on Enterprise.

**Which has better team scheduling?**

SavvyCal offers collective, round robin and group links on its entry plan. Calendly offers more depth, including routing forms, managed events and the Distribution Engine, but only from Teams.

**Does SavvyCal have a mobile app?**

No. SavvyCal has no native iOS or Android app, only a Chrome extension. Calendly includes a mobile app even on its free plan.

**Can either tool be used for HIPAA data?**

No. SavvyCal's Terms forbid protected health information, and Calendly does not currently comply with HIPAA.

## The bottom line

SavvyCal is the better tool for the person receiving your link and the better value for small teams that need round robin, because Calendly holds team scheduling back for a pricier plan. Calendly is the better tool for nearly everything around the booking: a free tier, SMS, routing forms, Salesforce, mobile apps, AI, SSO and a vendor large enough to sell enterprise contracts. Choose SavvyCal if your meetings are calls between professionals and your stack is light. Choose Calendly if scheduling feeds a sales process, or if you need a free plan.
