**$399** — Hootsuite Advanced per user a month billed annually, the lowest Hootsuite plan with approvals.

- **Unlimited users** — on every current Sendible plan
- **Per user** — Hootsuite pricing; only annual rates published
- **Plus vs Advanced** — where approvals start on each

## The short answer: one price for the team, or one price per person

Sendible and Hootsuite both schedule posts, collect comments and build reports, but they charge in opposite ways. Sendible sells plans by the account. **Users are unlimited on every plan**, and you grow by adding workspaces, each one a client, brand or location with six social profiles. Workspaces were announced in August 2026 and are rolling out progressively, so older accounts and some help pages still show legacy plans with per-user allocations. Hootsuite sells seats. Every person who logs in carries the plan price, and the vendor publishes only its annual rates. That one difference settles most comparisons before features even come up. A team of one barely notices it. A team of ten feels it on every invoice.

The feature story runs the other way. Hootsuite is the deeper platform: its inbox reaches more networks and can automate replies, listening comes with every plan, its Wisdom AI drafts images as well as text, and it backs all of this with a documented API, MCP servers and a long list of security certificates. Sendible is narrower and far cheaper per head, built around client separation, client sign-off and white label for agencies. So the honest question is not which tool is better. It is whether you need Hootsuite's depth badly enough to pay for it on every seat.

## How each vendor builds the bill

### Sendible: five plans, workspaces as the unit

Sendible's ladder runs from Core to Enterprise. Core costs $35 a month billed monthly, or $29.75 a month billed yearly, for one workspace [1]. Plus costs $99 a month billed monthly, or $84.15 a month billed yearly, for three workspaces. Premium costs $199 a month billed monthly, or $169.15 a month billed yearly, for seven. Elite costs $299 a month billed monthly, or $254.15 a month billed yearly, for 15. Enterprise costs $750 a month billed monthly, or $637.50 a month billed yearly, for 50 workspaces. Yearly billing takes 15% off, and extra workspaces get cheaper as the plan rises.

### Hootsuite: four tiers, priced per user

Hootsuite's Standard plan costs $99 per user a month billed annually, Professional $199 and Advanced $399, while Enterprise is quoted after a demo [2]. Monthly billing exists, but the pricing page does not publish a month-to-month rate, so the annual figure is the only one you can plan around. Standard connects up to 10 social accounts; Professional removes that cap and adds trend forecasting, custom reports and what the plans page calls automated inbox replies and workflows. Advanced adds content approvals for teams with more than one seat, message assignment, auto-routing, the auto-responders and automation rules its help center lists, and team performance reporting. Enterprise layers on SSO, advanced listening and employee advocacy, with the Salesforce integration through the Advanced Inbox upgrade. Nonprofits pay less through HootGiving.

Both vendors offer a 14-day trial with no card needed to start, and neither sells a no-cost tier. The trials differ in the details. Sendible asks for a card when the trial ends, and a card added during the trial is charged automatically when it ends. Extra users or profiles cannot be added to the subscription during the trial, even though its homepage says you can invite teammates right away. Hootsuite allows one trial per person, caps posting at 10 to 20 posts a day per organization and leaves out bulk scheduling. Its pricing page says you are not charged automatically, while its terms and its help center say a trial with a payment method on file converts and is charged, so cancel before day 14 if you added a card and do not mean to continue. Neither trial shows you the true bill. That needs a headcount and a client count.

| Area | Sendible | Hootsuite |
|---|---|---|
| Billing unit | Per plan, unlimited users | Per user seat |
| Published rates | Monthly and yearly | Annual only |
| Room to grow | Extra workspaces of 6 profiles | 10 accounts on Standard, unlimited above |
| Approvals | Simple from Plus, multi-step from Premium | Advanced and Enterprise, up to three layers |
| Listening | Inbox and feeds only | Basic on every plan, advanced on Enterprise |
| Developer access | No public API docs, no MCP | REST API, webhooks, MCP servers |
| Security certificates | None named on its site | SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and more |

> 💡 **Count reviewers, not just editors:** On Hootsuite every approver who logs in needs a seat. On Sendible, from Plus, clients approve by email without a login, so reviewers add nothing to the bill.

## Three teams, three bills

The gap between the two models depends on headcount, client count and one feature: approvals. We priced three common setups, each with the approval workflow it actually needs, using the published rates. Hootsuite figures are annual because that is all it publishes. Sendible figures are shown both ways, since you can choose. One caution before the numbers. A cheaper plan that lacks the gate you need is not a saving, so each setup below is priced on the lowest plan that includes the sign-off step the team described would require.

### A three-person in-house team

Picture one brand, six profiles or fewer, and a manager who must approve posts before they go live. On Sendible, Plus is the lowest plan with approvals, and it costs $99 a month billed monthly, or $84.15 a month billed yearly, with room for three workspaces. On Hootsuite, approvals start on Advanced. By our arithmetic, three Advanced seats come to $1,197 a month billed annually, or $14,364 a year, against $1,009.80 a year for Sendible Plus billed yearly. Drop the approval requirement and the gap narrows. Three Hootsuite Standard seats total $297 a month billed annually, while Sendible Core costs $29.75 a month billed yearly. Core leaves approvals out entirely.

### A five-person agency with 15 clients

Fifteen clients means 15 workspaces on Sendible, one per client, each with its own calendar, inbox and reports. Elite includes exactly 15, plus multi-step approval workflows, dynamic fields and advanced permissions, for $299 a month billed monthly, or $254.15 a month billed yearly. Topping up the seven-workspace plan with eight extra workspaces costs more than Elite itself, so Elite is the sensible route. On Hootsuite, 15 clients will outgrow Standard's 10 accounts quickly, and client approvals need Advanced. By our arithmetic, five Hootsuite Advanced seats come to $1,995 a month billed annually, or $23,940 a year, against $3,049.80 a year for Sendible Elite billed yearly. **That is the widest gap in this comparison.**

The agency case has a second angle. Sendible sells white label as a paid option on Elite and Enterprise; per the pricing FAQ, Elite with white label costs from $349 a month in total, $50 above the plan price, and an onboarding fee may apply. It puts your own brand on the dashboard clients see. Client Connect lets each client link its own social accounts through a secure link, so nobody shares passwords. Our [Sendible for agencies](/articles/sendible-for-agencies) guide covers that workflow in depth.

### A ten-person marketing team

Now take ten people across several brands, with a legal or brand check after the editor's review. That calls for a multi-step workflow. Sendible includes custom multi-step approvals from Premium, at $199 a month billed monthly or $169.15 a month billed yearly, with seven workspaces for the brands. Hootsuite's approvals, with up to three layers, sit on Advanced. By our arithmetic, ten Advanced seats come to $3,990 a month billed annually, or $47,880 a year, against $2,029.80 a year for Sendible Premium billed yearly. Ten Standard seats would total $990 a month billed annually, but Standard leaves out approvals and caps the team at 10 social accounts.

> ⚠ **Neither one refunds prepayment:** Sendible gives no refunds for prepayment or proration, and Hootsuite annual plans are non-refundable. Use the 14-day trial before paying for a year.

## Approvals: where each one draws the line

Approvals are where buyers most often pick the wrong plan, so the gates deserve a plain list. Sendible's Core plan leaves them out. Plus adds assignment and simple approvals, where a post waits for one person's sign-off. Premium adds custom multi-step workflows, so a draft can pass from an editor to a brand lead to the client. Reviewers get a dashboard notification and an email asking for approval [3], and they can approve by email without logging in. Clients who will never learn another dashboard can still sign off. Since June 2026, reviewers can also play videos inside the approval task before they decide.

Hootsuite keeps approvals for its two top tiers. Advanced, with more than one user seat, brings content review and approval workflows with up to three layers, alongside message assignment and auto-routing for the inbox. That bundle is coherent: a team big enough to need formal sign-off often needs routed customer care too. The cost is the seat price. Every reviewer who needs a login carries the Advanced rate, so a client who approves inside Hootsuite adds a seat. Sendible's unlimited users mean a client reviewer costs nothing extra on any plan from Plus.

**The rule that keeps you safe:** settle the approval depth first, then the plan. If one sign-off is enough, Sendible Plus or Hootsuite Advanced will do. If you need several stages, look at Sendible Premium or Hootsuite Advanced. Do not price a lower tier and plan to add approvals later.

## Inbox and listening: Hootsuite reaches further

Customer care is Hootsuite's clearest lead. Its unified inbox gathers messages from Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, WhatsApp and Google Business Profile, with saved replies on some plans, and assignment, auto-routing, auto-responders and automation rules from Advanced, per its help center. The plans page also lists automated inbox replies and workflows on Professional, and Enterprise's Advanced Inbox upgrade adds service-level targets, smart replies, sentiment and detection of more than 60 languages. There are limits worth knowing. The inbox keeps conversations for six weeks, TikTok business messages are unavailable in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK, and the Enterprise webchat, Telegram, WeChat and SMS channels stop on February 1, 2027.

Sendible's Priority Inbox is narrower. It brings comments and messages with sentiment from Facebook Pages, Instagram and LinkedIn pages, plus YouTube comments, but it leaves out X, TikTok, Google Business Profile and personal LinkedIn [4]. It lags one to two hours and covers engagement within about four days of a post. Instagram direct messages are a gray area: Sendible's own pages disagree on them, so confirm before relying on them. Social Feeds add real-time streams, without sentiment, for Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn Company Pages; they do not add X, TikTok or Google Business Profile. **If X or TikTok replies are daily work, Sendible's inbox will not carry it.**

Listening widens the gap. Hootsuite includes basic listening on every plan, with seven days of quick search on Standard and 30 days above, and benchmarks up to 5 competitors on Standard and 20 from Professional. Enterprise adds listening by Talkwalker across more than 150 million websites, 30-plus social networks and hundreds of review sites, with 13 months of history. Sendible offers nothing comparable. Its X search and monitoring were removed in 2023 when X cut its data access, and its monitoring now lives in the inbox and feeds.

## Reports, AI and developer access

Reporting is closer than the rest. Every Sendible plan has quick (pre-built) reports with GA4 data. Custom branded reports of up to 30 modules come through the Report Hub from Premium, and scheduled report emails work only for those custom reports. Two limits stand out. Data is kept for 90 days as standard, and Google Business Profile has no reporting at all. Hootsuite covers owned and paid social, exports PDF and PowerPoint on every plan and spreadsheets from Advanced. Its Enterprise add-on brings attribution and ROI analytics. For client-facing reports under your own logo, Sendible does the job at a lower price. For long history and paid media, Hootsuite goes further.

AI is a clear Hootsuite lead. Wisdom drafts posts and images, analyzes performance and answers questions about your social data on every plan. It cannot publish on its own, and the holiday and trending-event captions it writes in the content calendar are English-only and draw on a monthly allowance of 300 tokens. Sendible's AI Assist runs on OpenAI and writes text only, such as captions and ideas, with no usage limit. It lives in the main Compose box and nowhere else. It writes no inbox replies and creates no images. Sendible's Terms say customer data is not used to train public AI models.

Developer access is the starkest difference. Hootsuite publishes a REST API with webhooks, an App Directory of more than 100 apps, and MCP servers for its publishing, inbox, listening and advocacy products. The API is free for approved developers, but which plans include MCP access is not published, and the listening server needs a Talkwalker licence. Its publishing API does not support TikTok, YouTube or Bluesky. Sendible describes API access for software partners and large organizations, but no public API documentation exists on its site or help center, and it has no MCP server. Its Zapier integration, in beta since January 2026, creates posts from other apps. A team that wires social data into its own systems has one realistic choice here.

## Security, contracts and the fine print

Compliance buyers will find far more on Hootsuite's side. It lists SOC 2 Type II, SOC 3, ISO 27001, 27017 and 27701, FedRAMP Tailored and Cyber Essentials, hosts its core platform on AWS in the US (its listening services run on Hetzner, per its data processing addendum), and offers SAML single sign-on and a 99.9% uptime commitment on Enterprise. Sendible keeps data on US servers under standard contractual clauses, supports IP address restrictions and offers single sign-on on Enterprise. No SOC 2 or ISO certificate is named on its site or help center. If a security questionnaire sits between you and the purchase, that difference may decide it.

Billing terms are strict on both sides. Sendible gives **no refunds for prepayment or proration**; a cancelled plan keeps working until the day before the paid period ends, and it takes credit cards only. Its standard plans carry no contract, and monthly billing keeps the exit cheap. Hootsuite's annual plans are non-refundable, and its Enterprise contracts renew automatically unless you give written notice 60 days before the term ends. Read the renewal date before you sign. With no published monthly rate, only the annual commitment can be priced in advance. Our [Hootsuite pricing guide](/articles/hootsuite-pricing) walks through those terms tier by tier.

## How reviewers and our scores see them

**What users rate it, by platform**

| Platform | Rating | Reviews | As of |
|---|---|---|---|

_Rendered from our current record; these are other platforms' user scores, separate from our own Toolkit Score._

Sendible fares well on the big review sites, with TrustRadius reviewers noticeably cooler than the rest. Its Trustpilot sample is too small to read as a trend; the low-star reviews there cluster around billing, refunds, support and cancellation, which matches the strict refund terms above. Our own Toolkit Score puts Hootsuite at 3.79 and Sendible at 3.65. Sendible's strongest axis is sentiment, followed by capability and value, and its weakest is AI, which matches the gaps described above. The two are closer than their prices suggest.

## Which one to pick

Pick Sendible if you run an agency, a franchise or a multi-brand team where many people need access and clients need to sign off. Unlimited users, one workspace per client, email approvals without a login and white label on the top plans fit that work closely, at a fraction of a per-seat bill. It also suits a small team that wants monthly billing without a year's commitment. Skip it if X, TikTok or Google Business Profile conversations are central, or if you need listening, AI images, a public API or named security certificates.

Pick Hootsuite if you run a brand with heavy customer care, need listening and competitor benchmarks, want AI that drafts images and answers questions on your data, or must pass a formal security review. Its depth is real, and Enterprise adds advocacy, long listening history and, with the Advanced Inbox upgrade, Salesforce. Keep the team small or budget for it: every seat carries the plan price, and approvals mean Advanced. For most agencies, the cost per client points to Sendible. For enterprise brands with care and compliance needs, Hootsuite earns the premium.

> 💡 **Pick the approval depth first:** One sign-off means Sendible Plus or Hootsuite Advanced; several stages mean Sendible Premium or Hootsuite Advanced. Then count workspaces or seats.

## FAQ

**Is Sendible cheaper than Hootsuite?**

For most teams, yes. Sendible charges per plan with unlimited users, while Hootsuite charges per user, so the gap grows with every person who needs a login.

**Which plan do I need for approvals?**

On Sendible, simple approvals start on Plus and multi-step workflows on Premium. On Hootsuite, approval workflows start on Advanced.

**Does Hootsuite publish a monthly price?**

No. Hootsuite publishes per-user rates billed annually; monthly billing exists, but the month-to-month rate is not shown on its pricing page.

**Which has the better inbox?**

Hootsuite. Its inbox covers X, TikTok comments, WhatsApp and Google Business Profile, with routing and automation rules from Advanced, while Sendible's Priority Inbox leaves out X, TikTok, Google Business Profile and personal LinkedIn.

**Do Sendible and Hootsuite have an API?**

Hootsuite publishes a REST API with webhooks and MCP servers. Sendible describes API access for partners and large organizations, but no public API documentation exists on its site or help center.

**Can I try both before paying?**

Yes. Both offer a 14-day trial with no card needed to start; neither sells a no-cost tier.

## The bottom line

Sendible and Hootsuite solve different problems at very different prices. Sendible charges per plan with unlimited users, gives each client its own workspace and includes approvals from Plus, which makes it the cheaper fit for agencies and multi-brand teams with many reviewers. Hootsuite charges per user, publishes only annual rates and keeps approvals on Advanced, but it offers a broader inbox, built-in listening, image-capable AI, an open API with MCP and serious security credentials. Count your people, your clients and your approval stages first. The right tool usually becomes obvious from there.
