# Snappa Buyer's Checklist: 50 Things to Check Before You Pay

Fifty things to check before you pay for Snappa, grouped by topic. Each answer comes from Snappa's own pages, read on
10 October 2026, from archived copies of its pricing page, or from review sites. Arithmetic is ours. Work through the
list on the free Starter plan, which costs nothing and has no time limit, before you enter a card.

## Plans and prices

## 1. Do you know the monthly price, not just the yearly rate?

Pro is US$15 a month on monthly billing and US$10 a month on yearly billing; Team is US$30 and US$20 [2]. Some
feature pages quote only the lower figures, as in "The Pro ($10/month) or Team ($20/month)" [46].
If you plan to pay month by month, budget for US$15 or US$30.

## 2. Have you worked out the yearly total?

US$120 for Pro and US$240 for Team, paid in one charge, our arithmetic from the yearly rates [2]. Twelve monthly
payments come to US$180 and US$360. The difference, US$60 or US$120, is a third of the monthly cost.

## 3. Will you keep it for more than eight months?

Eight monthly payments equal one yearly payment on both plans, our arithmetic. Under eight months, monthly is cheaper.
You can start monthly and use the "switch to annual billing" link later, so there is no need to guess at sign-up
[115].

## 4. Are three downloads a month enough for you?

That is the whole Starter allowance [2]. It was five until 2019 [56] [57]. Three a month is
36 a year; a blogger posting twice a week with one image each needs about 104, our arithmetic.

## 5. How many people need access?

Pro is one user; Team is five [2]. At two people the two options cost the same, US$240 a year; from three people,
Team is cheaper than separate Pro accounts, and at five it is US$48 per person a year, our arithmetic.

## 6. Could your team grow past five?

There is no public price above five users: "Need more than five users on your team plan? Please contact us."
[2] Ask for the sixth-user price in writing before you commit to a yearly plan for a growing team.

## 7. Do you need a trial of Pro?

There is none. Snappa's maker pages answer the trial question with "You can use Snappa for as long as you like
without paying a dime." [44] If you want to test background removal or Buffer, pay for one
month and cancel.

## 8. Is there a discount for you?

We found no education, nonprofit or startup pricing on the site, and no coupon field on the pricing page [2].
Several rivals in our design category run free or reduced programs for schools and charities, so compare before you
buy [25] [27].

## Billing and refunds

## 9. Do you know when you will be charged?

"Payments are charged on the day you sign up and will continue on a recurring basis until you cancel." [5] A
yearly plan therefore renews on the anniversary of the day you subscribed, at whatever the price is then.

## 10. Do you know the refund window?

"To be eligible for a refund, you must contact Snappa’s support within thirty (30) days of signing up for a premium
service." [5] Renewals are not mentioned. Assume a renewal charge is final unless support tells you otherwise.

## 11. Will you get a renewal reminder?

We found no promise of one on any page. The Terms say only that payments continue until you cancel, and that "Snappa
may provide you with notices by e-mail." [5] Put the renewal date in your own calendar.

## 12. Can you pay the way you want?

Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit cards: "Unfortunately we cannot accept PayPal as a method of payment."
[117] Snappa also advises "avoiding debit cards since they tend to get declined more frequently." [132] If a valid
card is refused, the fix is a call to your bank.

## 13. Will receipts reach you?

The April 2025 Trustpilot review warns that receipts and invoices were not delivered to an email address at an
educational institution [17]. Under Billing you can download each invoice as a PDF with your company details, so
you do not depend on email [109].

## 14. Do you know how to cancel?

My Account, Billing, then "Cancel Subscription", and confirm. "Your subscription will remain active until the end of
your billing cycle." [88] Snappa asks you to contact it first, but you do not have to.

## 15. Do you know how to delete the account?

Under the My Account menu, Account settings, then "Delete Account" [99]. The article does not say what happens
to saved designs or uploads afterwards, so download anything you want to keep first.

## Devices and setup

## 16. Do you work on a laptop or desktop?

The troubleshooting article is explicit: "Snappa won’t run properly on mobile devices or non Windows/Mac operating
systems." [89] There is no iOS or Android app. A 2021 reviewer called this the reason "many users have
shifted to Canva" [18].

## 17. Is your computer Windows or Mac?

The same article tells you to "Ensure you’re on a laptop/desktop computer running Windows or MacOS." [89] A
Chromebook or a Linux machine is outside the supported list, even though the pricing FAQ says "any laptop or desktop"
[2].

## 18. Is your browser current Chrome, Firefox or Safari?

"Snappa is compatible with the latest versions of Chrome, FireFox and Safari." [114] Edge is not named. An
outdated browser is the second item on the troubleshooting list [89].

## 19. Do you run extensions such as Grammarly or an ad blocker?

Snappa says certain ad blockers and browser extensions, Grammarly among them, "have been known to interfere with
Snappa." [89] Test with them switched off if saving or downloading fails.

## 20. Do you work in private browsing or on several devices?

"Your session may time out if you’ve been inactive or away from the computer for a long period of time." It times out
sooner in incognito mode and may expire when you are logged in on several devices [111]. Save often.

## What you can make

## 21. Do you only need static images?

The download menu has four options: web-optimized JPG, high-res PNG, Retina JPG and Retina PNG [82]. Retina
doubles the pixel size; the help center gives the example of a 400 by 300 image that needs 800 by 600 to look sharp on
a high-density screen [80].

## 22. Do you need PDF, SVG or print files?

None of these is offered [82]. For a flyer, a business card or anything a print shop needs as a PDF, Snappa is
the wrong tool. Its presets are all screen formats [15].

## 23. Do you need video or animation?

Not available on any plan [82] [2]. The YouTube pages cover thumbnails, channel art and end-screen images,
which are stills [44] [43].

## 24. Do you need multi-page documents or presentations?

Snappa makes one image per design. Its template categories run from Facebook posts and Pinterest pins to eBook covers,
infographics, Twitch panels and Zoom backgrounds, but not slides or reports [15]. An infographic is one tall image, not a
document with pages.

## 25. Do you need links inside an image?

"It's not possible to insert a hyperlink within a PNG or JPG image." [76] The help article suggests linking the
whole image where you publish it, for example in WordPress or a Facebook ad.

## 26. Do you need transparent backgrounds?

Yes: tick "Transparent background" in the download menu, with no background image loaded on the canvas
[73]. Use PNG for this; JPG has no transparency.

## 27. Do you need background removal?

Pro and Team only [46]. The help center asks for good lighting, contrast, plain backgrounds and
sharp foregrounds, and to flip or rotate before removing the background [78]. Test it on your own photos in a
paid month.

## 28. Will your text render in your language?

"Not all fonts included in Snappa support foreign characters." The fix is to "upload your own font" [112], which
needs Pro or Team [2]. Check your script on Starter first by typing a test line.

## 29. Do you need your brand fonts?

Pro and Team can upload ".ttf, .otf, and .woff" fonts, which then appear at the top of the font list [86]. On
Team, an uploaded font is shared with the whole team automatically [133].

## 30. Do you need saved brand colors?

Click a hex code, edit the Saved section of the color picker and save [108]. On Team, saved colors "will
automatically be accessible to your team" [134]. There is no wider brand kit with logos and rules.

## Saving and safety

## 31. Do you need version history?

There is none. "any subsequent saves to your design will override existing changes, it will not create a new version
of the design." [84] An accidental save cannot be rolled back.

## 32. Will you remember to duplicate before editing?

That is the only way to keep an earlier version: duplicate from Saved Graphics or with the Duplicate button in the
editor, then edit the copy [119] [84]. Undo works only within the session
[129].

## 33. Where are your uploads kept?

"All the images you upload to Snappa are securely stored on Amazon S3 servers. No other users will be able to access
your uploads." [95] On Team you choose per upload whether it goes to the team library [124].

## 34. Where is your personal data kept?

The undated privacy policy says it "may be stored and processed on our computers in the United States of America &
Canada" [6]. It also promises that Snappa "will never sell or rent any personally identifiable information about
you to any third party." [6]

## 35. Do you need a security certification, SSO or a DPA?

We found none on Snappa's site: no SOC 2 or ISO page, no single sign-on, no data processing agreement, and a privacy
policy that does not mention GDPR [6] [5]. Larger companies should ask before buying.

## Licensing

## 36. Can you use the photos commercially?

Yes. Photos and graphics "can be used for both commercial and non-commercial purposes and you are not required to
provide attribution." [2] Four restrictions apply, set out in the license article [85].

## 37. Will you sell products with stock photos on them?

"You cannot sell unaltered copies of a photo", for example as a stock photo, poster, print or on a physical product
"without adding any value" [85]. A T-shirt shop or print-on-demand seller should design its own artwork.

## 38. Will a recognizable person or brand appear in an ad?

"You cannot imply endorsement of your product by people or brands on the image." [85] Identifiable people may
also not appear "in a bad light or in a way that is offensive." [85]

## 39. Do you own what you make?

The Terms say "You are authorized to download and share unlimited copies of your designs for your personal or
commercial use" [5]. Snappa does not say whether a logo made from its graphics can be trademarked; ask if that
matters to you.

## Sharing and teams

## 40. Do you post to Instagram?

"We do not have a direct integration with Instagram but we do have an integration with Buffer." [103] Snappa
suggests a free Buffer account to queue Instagram posts [103]. Buffer itself has its own plans and limits.

## 41. Do you post from a personal Facebook profile?

Not since Facebook's July 2018 API change: "You will no longer be able to connect your personal Facebook profile to
your Snappa account." [125] Facebook business pages still connect [98].

## 42. Do you use Buffer already?

In the editor, click Share, then Buffer, log in, and post to any page linked to your Buffer account [100]. This
is a Pro and Team feature: "Buffer / Social media integrations" is not on Starter [2].

## 43. Do you need LinkedIn, Pinterest or TikTok posting?

The help center's integration articles cover Facebook, Twitter, Instagram through Buffer and Buffer itself [98]
[121] [103] [100]. For other networks, download and upload, or let Buffer carry the post.

## 44. Who will administer the team?

To add someone, open Team Settings and click "Add a team member"; they accept by email [110]. "Administrators
have the authority to invite / delete team members and to view billing information." [135] Make at least two.

## 45. Do team members need to edit at the same time?

Snappa describes sharing through team folders: "Any designs that are saved in a team folder will be accessible to your
team." [113] It does not describe live co-editing, comments or approvals [4].

## Vendor and support

## 46. Is email support enough?

That is the only contact channel listed: "video tutorials, detailed help docs categorized by topic, answers to FAQs,
and email support." [44] Gartner reviewers rate support 4.1 out of 5 [18].

## 47. Are you comfortable with 2017 terms?

The Terms end "These terms were last updated on February 15, 2017" [5]. They cap liability at six months of
fees or CA$100, whichever is greater, under Ontario law [5].

## 48. Do you need AI tools?

None appear on Snappa's pricing, home, maker or feature pages [2] [3]. If you want AI image generation or
writing help in the same tool, compare Canva or VistaCreate [21] [25].

## 49. Do you mind a product that changes slowly?

The pricing page text has been the same since October 2021 [64] [2], and 56 of the help center's dated
pages were last modified in 2020, our count from its sitemap. Stability is fine for a simple tool; just do not buy it
for a roadmap.

## 50. Have you read the reviews by source?

Gartner 4.4 from 27 reviews, none below four stars; Trustpilot 3.3 from 3, two of them two-star [18] [17]. Both
samples are small and mostly from 2021 to 2023, so weigh your own test on Starter more than either.

## The items that rule Snappa out most often

In our reading, five answers end the evaluation early: you need a phone or tablet (item 16), anything other than JPG
or PNG (items 21 to 23), version history (item 31), Instagram posting without Buffer (item 40), or AI tools (item 48).
None of these depends on the plan you pick; no Snappa plan has them [89] [82] [84] [103].

If none of the five applies, the remaining questions are about money and paperwork, and Snappa's answers there are
simple: three plans, one price list, card payment and a 30-day refund window from sign-up [2] [5].



## FAQ

**Can I get a refund from Snappa?**

The Terms allow a refund request within 30 days of signing up for a paid plan; renewals are not covered.

**Does Snappa export PDF?**

No. Downloads are JPG and PNG, at normal or Retina resolution.

## A one-afternoon test on Starter

Sign up with the email address that will receive invoices. Open the preset you use most, for example "YouTube
Thumbnail" or a Facebook post, and rebuild one real image you published last month from a template
[44]. Upload your logo and a photo, type a line in every language you publish in, and resize
the result to a second preset [81].

Download it as Retina PNG and check it at full size on the screen your audience uses [82]. That uses one of your
three free downloads. If the image is right and the work took minutes, Snappa fits; if you missed a tool, the
checklist above tells you whether any plan adds it.
