**10M+** — Social profiles searchable in Creator Search, with no Sprout plan required.

- **3 report depths** — Brand Safety: First Pass, Spotlight, Complete
- **10 years** — of posts covered by a Complete report
- **Quote only** — platform fee; creator fees paid separately

## What Sprout Social Influencer Marketing actually is

Sprout Social Influencer Marketing is the creator platform Sprout bought as Tagger and relaunched under its own name on April 14, 2025, with AI-powered search, new creator profiles and upgraded reporting. **It is a separate product, not a tier of the scheduling suite.** You do not need any Sprout plan to buy it, the platform has no published price, and the fees you agree with creators are paid on top [1]. Sprout calls it a premium solution and sells it through a demo. On your invoice it shows up as its own add-on product subscription, next to things like Employee Advocacy and Trellis Plus.

That separation shapes everything in this guide. The tool covers the whole creator workflow: finding people, checking them, recruiting them, running campaigns, paying them and measuring what they sold. It shares a security program and some data with the main Sprout app, but it has its own login and you can run it without ever scheduling a post in Sprout. Agencies meet it too: the partner program lists it beside the core app, Spike Crisis Management and Employee Advocacy. The steps below follow the order a brand team would work in, from the first demo to the final report.

> ⚠ **No refunds on add-on removal:** Sprout's annual plans renew automatically; invoiced plans and annual plans paid monthly need 30 days' notice by email unless your Service Order says otherwise. Removing an add-on brings no refund.

## Before the demo: settle the budget lines

Because nothing is priced publicly, the first job is to separate the costs you will face. There are three. **The platform fee**, which only sales can quote. **Creator fees**, which you negotiate per partnership and pay yourself. And, optionally, the core Sprout suite if you also want publishing and an inbox. That last one is the only part with a list price: Essentials starts at $79 per seat a month billed annually, or $99 billed monthly, and Professional is $299 per seat a month billed annually. None of those plans is required for the creator product.

Read the billing rules before you sign anything. Sprout's annual plans renew automatically. Plans paid upfront in the app are cancelled in the billing page before the renewal date, while annual plans paid monthly and invoiced plans need 30 days' notice by email, unless the Service Order says otherwise. There are no refunds on cancellation, downgrade or the removal of an add-on. One quirk matters here. Customers who pay in the app can normally move themselves from monthly to annual billing, but not when the account carries a premium add-on such as Influencer Marketing. That change then goes through Sprout's team. Ask in the demo how the platform fee scales, whether it depends on workspaces or creator volume, and what the renewal terms look like in writing.

> 💡 **Run First Pass on everyone:** First Pass reads captions only and is free. Use it to screen a long list, then run Spotlight or Complete reports on finalists, and ask in the demo how those deeper reports are billed.

## Step one: find creators who fit

Discovery starts in Creator Search, which draws on more than 10 million social profiles. **Search works by meaning, not by keyword.** Sprout's AI help page says the newer search uses semantic matching with vector embeddings, powered by OpenAI, and that it replaced the earlier keyword and category filters [2]. In practice you describe the kind of content you want, and the tool surfaces creators who make it. The solutions page calls this topic-led search powered by AI Assist, and Sprout's own comparison pages add natural-language search and creator suggestions.

Two other pieces help before you open the app. Sprout publishes an Influencer Directory with lists by topic and by city, which works as a free preview of the kind of data inside. Inside the product, Creator Lists turn your finds into a working CRM of brand-aligned partners, so the shortlist from one campaign becomes the starting pool for the next. Sprout says the lists can also automate discovery of similar high-quality partners. Build lists by theme early, because every later step (vetting, outreach, payment) runs from them.

### Brand Fit Scores

Each creator can carry an AI-powered **Brand Fit Score**. According to the product page, it weighs how well the creator resonates with your audience, how their content performs and who they have partnered with before. It is a sorting aid, not a verdict. Teams with several brands get separate scores, because Workspaces (added in the third quarter of 2025) give each brand, region or business unit its own Brand Fit settings, safety thresholds and creator lists. A beauty brand and a gaming brand under one parent company can therefore judge the same creator very differently.

## Step two: vet them with Brand Safety

Vetting is where the platform does its most distinctive work. Brand Safety scans a creator's public posts and assigns a risk level based on criteria you customize. Sprout now runs a second generation of it, with **three report depths**. First Pass reads captions only and is free. Spotlight is fully multimodal and covers the last year. Complete is also multimodal and reaches back ten years. The help page names Google Gemini and OpenAI as the models behind these reports. Sprout does not say how Spotlight and Complete reports are billed, so ask in the demo.

The sensible routine is to run First Pass across a long list, then pay attention to the deeper reports only for the finalists. A ten-year Complete report is the one to order before a large or long-term deal, when an old post could embarrass the brand. Coverage keeps widening. YouTube creator vetting arrived in the first quarter of 2026, and Sprout listed AI vetting of audio and visual content as coming soon in its second-quarter 2026 update. Treat that last item as a roadmap promise until the demo shows it working.

> ⚠ **Coming soon is not shipped:** Audio and visual vetting and global payments with tax documents were listed as coming soon in the second quarter of 2026. Confirm in the demo what your account will see.

## Step three: recruit, brief and run the campaign

Outbound search is only half the funnel. **Recruit** lets you publish branded, always-on application pages, so interested creators can raise their hand and join your network without an outreach email. Since the first quarter of 2026, those creator applications can be built with AI. Creators themselves join the Creator Hub for free and partner with brands from there, which removes one awkward conversation about who pays for the creator's side.

Once creators are in, one workflow covers outreach, contracting, content approvals and payments. Sprout describes an Influencer CRM and a Creator Hub for approvals and contracts, and a One-Sheet Builder with five default templates and PDF export for pitching a roster to stakeholders. Collaboration has no seat limits, so legal, brand and agency reviewers can join; ask in the demo whether anything in the quote scales with users. Earlier updates added Instagram tap tag mentions inside campaigns and a metrics lexicon with call-outs, which helps when a client asks what a number means.

## Step four: pay creators inside the campaign

Creator fees are yours to pay, but the platform can handle the transfer. **Payouts run through PayPal or Lumanu** directly from a campaign, and Sprout says they are globally compliant [3]. Payments made outside the platform can still be logged, so the campaign dashboard shows total spend in one place. That matters for finance teams, which usually want one ledger per campaign rather than a stack of PayPal receipts.

This part is still moving. Sprout listed more influencer payment options as next in its updates for the fourth quarter of 2025 and again in the first quarter of 2026. Its second-quarter 2026 update then announced global creator payments with tax documentation as coming soon. If you pay many creators abroad, ask whether that feature is live for your account before you plan around it. Until then, the two named payout routes are what you can count on.

## Step five: track sales and report results

The platform measures results in three ways: affiliate links, UTMs and pixels. Conversion tracking with UTMs and pixels is listed on the pricing page itself, and Sprout's brand awareness page also names Shopify and TUNE integrations for tying creator activity to revenue. The aim is to report sales, not just impressions. Sprout's retail page makes that its main pitch, along with campaign management for hundreds of partners at once. One retail customer Sprout features, Care to Beauty, reports cutting profile analysis time by 75% and growing influencer-attributed sales tenfold over the program's previous sales period, a vendor-reported result.

Reporting ends in the **Campaign Summary**, where ROI and insights sit together. You can also request Partnership Ad permissions and boost the best creator posts as Meta Partnership Ads from inside the platform, a feature added in the third quarter of 2025, and then measure the boosted results in the same campaign. Set the tracking links before content goes live. Sprout does not document any way to attribute untracked sales afterwards.

### How it connects with the rest of Sprout

Sprout pitches the product as part of its social intelligence engine, and the links are real if you also run the core suite. Listening, an add-on for Standard and up, includes Influencer Recognition, which ranks voices by following or post impact. Its Smart Categories widget helps spot the top profiles driving a topic, a natural source of creator leads. In the Smart Inbox (Standard and up; Essentials has none), X posts carry influencer indicators, and you can keep up to 60 Contact Lists to flag important profiles. Listening has no published price. It also needs at least the Standard plan. Our [Sprout Social Listening guide](/articles/sprout-social-listening) covers that add-on in depth.

## Snapchat, YouTube and what changed when

The creator product has moved faster on newer networks than the core suite has. Sprout's FAQ says Snapchat is supported in Publishing and in the Influencer Marketing product, but core Sprout still offers no Snapchat analytics. On the creator side, Snapchat arrived in 2024 and gained verified creators, demographics and Public Stories reporting in late 2025. The dated changes we found:

| When | Change in Influencer Marketing |
| --- | --- |
| May 2024 | SOC 2 Type 1 completed for Tagger |
| Q2 2024 | Creator tools, Instagram tap tag mentions in campaigns |
| Q3 2024 | Snapchat added; metrics lexicon in campaigns |
| April 14, 2025 | Relaunched as Sprout Social Influencer Marketing |
| Q2 2025 | AI workflows for brand fit, safety and creator lists |
| Q3 2025 | Workspaces; Instagram Partnership Ads |
| Q4 2025 | Snapchat verified creators, demographics, Public Stories reporting |
| Q1 2026 | AI-built creator applications; YouTube creator vetting |
| Q2 2026 | Audio and visual vetting, global payments with tax documents (both coming soon) |

The pattern is steady. Roughly every quarter brings one visible change, and most of them sit in vetting, recruitment or payments. When you read a quarterly update, separate shipped items from those marked as coming soon or next. Several payment items carried that label for more than one quarter, so a demo is the only reliable check on what your account will see.

## Creator data, privacy and security

Buyers rarely read this part. **Sprout's privacy policy says it sells personal information about creators to its customers** through the Influencer Marketing platform, and that, for this platform, it is a data broker under Texas law [4]. It also says some creator insights, such as estimated audience demographics, engagement analysis and content categories, are generated with AI and machine learning. Treat those demographics as estimates. The policy's request figures show three deletion requests received and honored in 2024, and none in 2025.

On security, the creator product sits inside Sprout's main program. The ISO certification covers it across all global locations, Tagger completed a SOC 2 Type 1 audit in May 2024, and SOC 2 Type 2 reports were updated in November 2024 for the core app, Employee Advocacy and the creator platform. It has its own real-time status page. One gap stands out. Mandatory multifactor authentication, in force for Sprout logins since April 15, 2025, does not extend to the Influencer Marketing platform, so turn on whatever login protection your account offers. Sprout's AI Features Terms, effective July 7, 2026, also let Sprout use customer AI inputs and outputs to train its own AI features, while its AI providers may not.

> 💡 **Set tracking before content goes live:** Attach UTMs, a pixel or affiliate links before the first creator post. Sprout does not document attributing untracked sales afterwards.

## Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

The product suits **brands and agencies that run creator programs as a steady channel**, not as a one-off. Retail and e-commerce teams that need sales attribution, companies with several brands or regions that need Workspaces, and agencies in Sprout's partner program get the most from it. Teams on Sprout's Standard plan or higher gain the most from the Listening and Inbox links, although the creator product never requires a plan. Its standing with analysts is solid: Sprout says it was named a Leader in an IDC MarketScape for influencer platforms aimed at large enterprises.

Look elsewhere if you need a published price to budget against, or if you work with a handful of creators a year and can manage them by email. Small teams that only want scheduling should compare the core plans first in our [Sprout Social pricing guide](/articles/sprout-social-pricing). The closest like-for-like rival in our files is Later Influence, formerly Mavrck, a separate, quote-only platform with creator search, campaigns, payouts in more than 25 currencies and affiliate links. Neither publishes a price. Compare them on vetting depth, payout coverage and contract terms.

## FAQ

**Do I need a Sprout Social plan to use Influencer Marketing?**

No. Sprout's pricing page says no Sprout plan is required; the creator platform is sold on its own through a demo.

**How much does Sprout Social Influencer Marketing cost?**

Sprout does not publish a price for the platform. You get a quote through a demo, and the fees you agree with creators are paid separately.

**Is Sprout Social Influencer Marketing the same as Tagger?**

Yes. Sprout acquired Tagger and relaunched it as Sprout Social Influencer Marketing on April 14, 2025.

**What are the Brand Safety report types?**

First Pass reads captions only and is free, Spotlight is multimodal and covers the last year, and Complete is multimodal and covers the last ten years. Sprout says they use Google Gemini and OpenAI.

**How are creators paid?**

Payouts can be released from a campaign through PayPal or Lumanu, and off-platform payments can be tracked in the same dashboard. Sprout's second-quarter 2026 update listed global payments with tax documentation as coming soon, with no date; confirm in the demo whether your account has it.

**Does Sprout sell creator data?**

Its privacy policy says Sprout sells personal information about creators to its customers through the Influencer Marketing platform and is a data broker under Texas law for that platform.

## The bottom line

Sprout Social Influencer Marketing is a full creator workflow sold on its own: semantic search across more than 10 million profiles, Brand Fit Scores, three depths of Brand Safety reports, branded recruitment pages, PayPal and Lumanu payouts, and sales tracking through UTMs, pixels and affiliate links. Its strengths are vetting and attribution. Its weaknesses are an unpublished platform fee, payment features that are still arriving, and a privacy policy that treats creator data as something Sprout sells. Book the demo with your creator volume, payout countries and renewal questions ready, and judge it on what is live today.
