VEED's screen recorder is a browser tool that captures your screen, your camera and your voice without any download, and it comes with every plan, Free included. Each recording can run for up to 60 minutes on any plan.[1] The catch sits at export, not at capture. On the Free plan, finished videos leave at 720p with a hardcoded watermark and a 10-minute export length, so a long free recording cannot leave VEED in one clean piece. Pick it for short walkthroughs you want to tidy with AI in the same tab. Skip Free for long sessions.

**60 min** — Maximum length of one VEED recording, the same on every plan, Free included.

- **All plans** — Recorder and teleprompter, Free included
- **720p + watermark** — Free exports, capped at 10 minutes
- **1080p / 4K** — Creator up to 1080p; 4K from Pro

## What each plan lets you record and export

Recording itself costs nothing. The recorder and its teleprompter are identical on every plan, so the plan you choose only changes what happens after you stop recording. Free gives you the full recorder plus Magic Cut, but only one try each of the other cleanup tools, a 720p ceiling and a watermark. Paid plans remove the watermark and raise the resolution, and that is where most screen-recording buyers feel the difference. Prices are per editor seat, in USD for VEED's default market, and local prices can differ.

| Plan | Price per editor seat | Export | Cleanup tools |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 720p, watermark, 10-minute exports | Magic Cut in full; one try of Eye Contact, Clean Audio, Remove Silences |
| Creator | $25 a month billed monthly, or $12.25 a month billed annually | Up to 1080p, no watermark | All unlimited |
| Pro | $45 a month billed monthly, or $22.08 a month billed annually | Up to 4K | All unlimited |
| Studio | $79 a month billed monthly, or $38.75 a month billed annually | Up to 4K | All unlimited |

Two billing rules matter before you upgrade. **Every workspace member is a billed seat**, including the owner and any pending invite, so inviting a colleague to watch your recordings costs a full seat unless you use a free single-project viewer invite instead. There is a Free plan rather than a trial: self-serve plans have no free trial, and refunds stop once you have used the service, as our [VEED pricing guide](/articles/veed-pricing) explains.

## Before you hit record: browser, permissions and sound

VEED recommends Chrome, and the editor needs hardware acceleration switched on in the browser. Without it, you get an error saying your device is not supported, which usually means a settings toggle rather than old hardware. The teleprompter also needs camera and microphone access, so allow both when the browser asks. If you clicked Block by mistake, fix the site permission before recording, because the recorder cannot capture what the browser refuses to share.

System audio is the quirk most people hit. **On Windows, tick the Share system audio box** when you choose what to share, or the recording will be silent apart from your microphone. On macOS, system audio works only when you record a specific browser tab. That means a Mac demo of a desktop app will carry your voice but not the app's own sounds. Plan around it. Run the demo in a browser tab where you can, or narrate over the silent parts.

VEED's business recording guide counts six recording setups, including camera only, screen and camera, and slides and camera, and it recommends the last two for business videos. You can also place a background behind your camera feed: a solid color, one of VEED's preset images or an image you upload. Custom themes are not supported yet, so brand colors come from the background image rather than from a saved layout.

## Recording: scenes, the teleprompter and the save step

Long walkthroughs are easier to fix when you break them up. The New Scene button splits a recording into parts, and **each scene lands in the editor as a separate clip**. A flubbed step then costs you one scene, not the whole take. It also helps with the 60-minute cap per recording. Anything longer than an hour, such as a full training session, has to be planned as separate recordings and joined on the timeline afterward.

The teleprompter is on every plan. It works only inside the recorder.[2] You paste your
script, record, and read while looking near the lens. Scroll speed and text size come from a fixed
set of default options, so you cannot fine-tune either one. Rehearse once at the default speed
before a client-facing take. If you read slightly off-camera, Eye Contact Correction can adjust
your gaze afterward, on the plans that include it in full.

The step that loses the most work is the last one. **A recording is not saved until you click Edit or Finish Recording.** Close the tab or the window before that and the recording is gone, and support cannot recover it. Do not record your only take of a one-off meeting in a browser with crash-prone extensions. Keep the tab alone in its window while you record. Click Finish before you do anything else.

> ⚠ **Unsaved recordings are lost:** A VEED recording is saved only when you click Edit or Finish Recording; closing the window first deletes it for good.

## Cleaning the take: Magic Cut, Clean Audio and Eye Contact

**Magic Cut is the strongest reason to record inside VEED**, and it is available in full on Free. It removes complete silences, filler words, repeated mistakes and awkward pauses, and every cut stays editable on the timeline, so you can restore a pause you wanted. The limit is language: Magic Cut supports English only, so recordings in other languages need manual trimming or the Remove Silences tool, which cuts only complete silences and keeps breathing and background noise.

Clean Audio removes noise, enhances speech and evens out volume, but you run it on each clip separately, which matters when you recorded in scenes. Eye Contact Correction works best on sharp, well-lit talking-head footage and switches itself off where your gaze is too far from the camera. Both are one-time tries on Free and unlimited on paid plans. Auto subtitles are metered in minutes, not AI credits: 10 minutes a month on Free and a 50-hour monthly fair-use limit on paid plans.

> 💡 **Record in scenes, not one take:** Use New Scene for each step of a walkthrough; every scene arrives in the editor as its own clip, so a mistake costs one scene.

## Exporting and sharing your recording

Export resolution follows the plan: 720p on Free, up to 1080p on Creator and up to 4K from Pro.[3] VEED never upscales, so a 1080p screen capture exported at 4K stays 1080p. The Free watermark is burned into the file. Upgrading does not clean old exports; you export the original project again, and re-uploading a watermarked file keeps the mark. You can download as MP4, as MP3 audio without a watermark, or as a GIF, but a draft must be exported before it can be downloaded.

Sharing is simpler. VEED hosts the video and gives you a link with access control and comments. Links set to anyone with the link stay out of search engines, but anyone holding the link can watch. Embeds start at Pro. There is no direct publishing to YouTube or social platforms, so you upload the exported file yourself. One privacy point is specific to recordings of your screen: content uploaded on the Free plan can be used to train VEED's AI models, so keep client dashboards off a Free workspace (see [is VEED safe](/articles/is-veed-safe)).

> 💡 **Export again after upgrading:** The Free watermark is burned into old exports. After moving to a paid plan, export the original project again instead of re-uploading the file.

## When paying makes sense, and when another recorder fits better

For one person, the annual question is simple. Twelve months on monthly billing come to $300, against $147 for a year paid upfront, by our arithmetic. Five monthly payments total $125 and six total $150, so annual billing wins only if you will need the paid features for six months or more. For a short project, pay monthly and cancel in time. Remember that every collaborator adds a seat at the same rate, and a team of three on Creator is the most that plan allows.

VEED is not the only browser recorder in our catalog. Vimeo pairs a screen and webcam recorder and a teleprompter with a hosting player built for analytics, which suits teams whose real job is publishing videos; our [Vimeo screen recorder guide](/articles/vimeo-screen-recorder) covers it. Wistia has a browser recording studio inside a marketing-hosting product priced per account rather than per seat. If you need remote guests on the same recording, Descript's Rooms records up to 10 people. VEED's edge over Vimeo and Wistia is the cleanup and AI editing in the same browser tab, with Magic Cut free; Descript also edits recordings with AI, but on per-person paid plans beyond its Free tier.

## FAQ

**Can the VEED AI Agent start a recording for me?**

Yes. VEED says its AI Agent can launch the recorder for a screen, webcam or combined recording, and you can then edit the result with typed commands.

**Is there a free trial of VEED's paid plans for the recorder?**

No. Self-serve plans have no free trial; VEED offers a Free plan instead, and trials exist only through sales (Enterprise, from 3 users).

**What happens to a recording project I delete?**

Deleted VEED projects stay in Trash for 30 days, then they are permanently deleted and support cannot restore them.

**Can I use VEED screen recordings commercially?**

Yes. VEED's help center says it places no restrictions on commercial use of videos made on the platform; Free exports still carry the watermark.

## The bottom line

VEED's recorder is a capable free tool held back by Free exports, not by recording itself. You get 60 minutes per recording, scenes, a teleprompter and full Magic Cut at no cost, but Free exports stop at 10 minutes and 720p with a watermark you cannot remove later. Record short English walkthroughs on Free and trim them with Magic Cut. Move to a paid seat when you need clean 1080p or longer exports, and pay monthly unless the work runs six months or more.
