**200** — Seats a paid self-serve Vimeo plan (Starter, Standard, Advanced) can reach; beyond that, Vimeo requires Enterprise.

- **$25/seat/mo** — Standard, billed annually
- **100 registrants** — per webinar on Advanced
- **12-month renewals** — Enterprise default, non-refundable

## Where Vimeo sits in a company's week

Most companies that buy Vimeo are not buying a place for one video. They are buying one library that serves three jobs: marketing videos embedded on the website and in campaigns, broadcasts and training for staff, and the security paperwork that lets both pass review. The ad-free player is the common thread, so a product demo or a leadership update plays without anyone else's ads beside it. **The plan you need follows the job you run.** Marketing alone fits Standard, webinars and town halls start at Advanced, and anything that needs single sign-on, data residency or a signed health-data agreement means Enterprise.

The self-serve plans are priced per seat, and Enterprise has no published price; it is sold through the sales team [1]. Any paid self-serve plan (Starter, Standard or Advanced) can grow to 200 seats, and more than that requires Enterprise. Viewers can be added at no extra cost but still count toward the 200, while contributors and admins take paid seats. This guide follows an ordinary business week on Vimeo: the marketing team's launch, the internal communications team's town hall, the training team's courses, and the afternoon when IT, security and procurement send their questions.

## Marketing: product videos that collect leads

### From the embed to the lead form

A marketing team's day on Vimeo starts with the embed. A product demo sits on the pricing page, a testimonial on a landing page, a tutorial in the help center, and every copy plays from one file in the library. **Standard is where the marketing tools begin**: player branding, a brand kit with your fonts, custom cards and calls to action, and lead capture forms inside the player. The downgrade rules show the line. Moving from Standard to Starter strips branding, custom cards and lead capture. A form can carry up to 20 custom fields, and Vimeo's marketing pages describe three placements for a gate: before playback, paused at a timestamp, or on the end screen.

### Where Advanced earns its price

Collecting an email is half the job. Sending it somewhere is the other half. Advanced adds the marketing integrations, with Constant Contact, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Keap and Campaign Monitor on the list, and it is also the tier where Google Analytics tracking and the engagement panel for forms, cards and calls to action open up. Some older help pages place HubSpot lower. Follow the current plan page. Enterprise goes further with Marketo, Marketing Cloud and Salesforce Sales Cloud, and with analytics down to the individual viewer, though the Marketo webinar sync needs the webinar feature added to the Enterprise plan. IDEMIA, on its customer page, describes using gated content for lead generation alongside live events and explainer videos.

### Webinars and what the numbers show

Webinars live on Advanced, with two concurrent events of up to 12 hours each, 100 registrants per event and up to seven guest speakers. That suits a product demo or an onboarding session. It is tight for a launch. Advanced webinars also show no attendee-specific analytics: you see how many watched, while Enterprise shows how much of the event each registrant saw. Watch the CRM sync too, since a HubSpot webinar sync stops when the event ends or passes two hours, which can miss late registrants. Ivanti credits Vimeo AI with 80 percent less production time and six assets per video. Our [live streaming guide](/articles/vimeo-live-streaming) covers event setup in detail.

> 💡 **Map the job before the plan:** List what video does for marketing, internal communications and training. Lead forms point to Standard, webinars and town halls to Advanced, and SSO or data residency to Enterprise.

## Internal communications: the town hall and the library

### Running the town hall

For an internal communications team, the big day is the town hall. On Advanced you can stream from OBS, vMix or a hardware switcher over RTMPS or SRT, run polls, and schedule simulive replays for staff in other time zones. The stream embeds in SharePoint, Confluence [p1], Notion or a custom intranet with playback restricted to your domains. Advanced lacks the corporate layer. On Enterprise, every live feature needs the Events add-on, and with it come single sign-on gating, moderated question queues, backup streams and fail-safe streaming. Vimeo's help center still lists SSO login inside an embedded live event as coming soon; today it works on embedded on-demand video. Vimeo says Rite Aid reached 3,000 employees at a recent virtual town hall, against 500 at an earlier in-person gathering.

### Why eCDN matters for the big broadcast

When thousands of employees watch from the same offices, the company network becomes the bottleneck. **Vimeo's Enterprise eCDN is a peer-to-peer delivery layer** that shares the stream between viewers on the network, runs in the browser with no plugins or hardware, works with single sign-on, and integrates with Kollective and Hive Streaming [2]. Where a platform is unsupported, delivery falls back to regular servers without interrupting playback. Three limits deserve a note. The Vimeo mobile app is not supported, though mobile browsers are. DVR lowers peering efficiency, and eCDN overrides low-latency streaming.

### The library after the broadcast

Then the recording becomes an asset. Wise, which streams town halls every two to three weeks and reports 66 live streams a year, has folders archive each recorded event automatically and added captions to live and on-demand events. Content can also come in from Zoom, Webex, Google Drive, Dropbox and Box. Enterprise transcribes every upload so staff can search by any spoken phrase, and its Anyone at my company setting, released in March 2026, lets only colleagues who log in watch. Jamf says single sign-on was a big factor because its weekly Jamf Report carries internal-only news, and Ivanti says it stops videos being scraped from the intranet.

## Training and learning for a global workforce

### The training library and the LMS

Training teams use Vimeo as the hosting layer behind their courses. Starbucks serves training to more than 350,000 partners with Vimeo as its hosting and deployment center, uses user-level analytics to see how much of a video each person completed, and reports about 90% completion on some of its most watched videos. Coles left the video hosting built into its learning platform because it consumed bandwidth and felt clunky, and it now reports 7M annual views and 173K unique viewers from 40 team seats. Canvas, Cornerstone, Workday Learning and Docebo take an iframe embed. Sending completion data through SCORM, xAPI, AICC or cmi5 is available on select Enterprise plans; scored quizzes also need the Interactive tool and learner seats.

### Captions and translation for staff abroad

A global company needs the same video in many languages. Vimeo creates captions automatically, translates subtitles into 36+ languages and, on Enterprise only, dubs into 29. Below Enterprise, only the account Owner can run subtitle translation, so trainers cannot translate their own videos. Both cost AI credits on paid plans: 10 a minute per language for subtitles and 20 for dubbing. Self-serve paid plans get 250 free credits once, expiring after 30 days, while Enterprise gets a yearly allocation that does not roll over unless the contract says so. A 20-minute training video subtitled into four languages uses 800 credits, by our arithmetic. That outruns the free allowance. Syndigo reports 137K credits spent on Enterprise across 340+ assets. Our [guide to Vimeo AI](/articles/vimeo-ai) covers the credit rules.

> 💡 **Budget AI credits for translation:** Subtitles cost 10 credits a minute per language and dubbing (Enterprise only) 20. Below Enterprise, only the account Owner can translate. Self-serve paid plans get 250 free credits once that expire after 30 days; Enterprise credits are a yearly contract allocation that does not roll over unless the contract says so.

## Workspaces, for companies with many teams

Few big companies start tidy. Neumann describes more than 200 separate self-serve accounts causing operational strain before it consolidated them into one Enterprise account in June 2022; it now reports 37,000+ videos across 600+ schools, with yearly bandwidth growing from 1,500TB to 5,250TB by 2025 without outages. **Workspaces is the add-on built for that shape.** It is not included in any plan by default and is sold to Enterprise customers. An Organization holds users and billing, each Workspace holds a brand, region or department's content, and storage, bandwidth and AI credits are managed centrally and attributed to each Workspace.

The structure has rules that are easier to learn before the migration. Organization settings, brand kits and privacy restrictions flow down and cannot be overridden by a Workspace. Search covers one Workspace at a time. Moving videos between Workspaces is permanent, resets their analytics to zero, breaks review links and works in batches of 50 videos or one folder. Plan the map once. Large moves into Vimeo can run with its engineers: SCAD moved 500K videos through an API integration within two quarters and reports 90 percent adoption, with faculty building nearly 700 showcase pages.

## When IT, security and legal join the conversation

### Identity: SSO, SCIM and audit logs

The security review usually starts with identity. Enterprise single sign-on uses SAML 2.0 with Okta, Entra ID or Google Workspace, and Vimeo recommends testing with 5-10 users before enforcing it. Entra ID's free tier won't work. SCIM provisioning, version 2 only, creates accounts without invitations and removes departing employees automatically. Force SSO blocks password logins entirely, admins can set session lengths, and signing out of the identity provider signs people out of Vimeo. Audit logs show who accessed what content, from which domain and when, at the level of the whole organization or a single Workspace.

### Where the data lives

Data residency is a feature an Enterprise customer buys and adds to the plan, and it keeps content in the US or in Europe, where Vimeo stores it in Germany and Belgium [3]. Source files, transcripts, captions, the search index and live streams stay in the EU, while video metadata, user profiles, analytics and logs, comments and webinar registrants are stored outside it. Vimeo's pages disagree on whether transcoding and thumbnails have moved yet, so ask the account team. Migration takes up to 2 weeks with no downtime, and accounts with several Workspaces can turn it on per Workspace. It needs a custom subdomain and the account team. There is no dedicated UK region.

### Certifications, the Enterprise BAA and retention

Vimeo's trust center lists SOC 2, ISO 27001:2022, ISO 27701, HITRUST, PCI DSS 4.0.1 and TX-RAMP. The SOC 2 Type 2 report requires an NDA, and security questionnaires go through the account manager. **HIPAA support exists only on Enterprise**, through a business associate agreement that covers the account on the order form, and it requires SSO, two-factor sign-in, disabled comments and no third-party integrations lacking their own agreement. Vimeo AI tools and early-access features are not automatically covered. On Enterprise packages with the Data Retention module (not Essentials), retention policies run from 7 days to 50 years, and legal hold blocks deletion of videos listed in a CSV. Welcome to the Jungle chose Vimeo for these GDPR tools.

## Reading the Enterprise contract

Enterprise is a negotiated agreement, and its terms differ from the self-serve checkout in ways procurement should flag. The agreement renews automatically for successive 12-month periods unless the order form says otherwise, and ending it takes written notice at least 30 days before renewal. **Payments are non-cancelable and non-refundable**, and the website refund policy does not apply [4]. Invoices are due within 30 days, late payments can carry interest of up to 1.5 percent a month, and Vimeo may charge overage fees when usage passes order form limits without any duty to warn you first.

The uptime promise needs the same attention. The Enterprise service level agreement applies only when the order form says the subscription is subject to it, so ask for that line in writing rather than assuming it from the sales deck. Support comes in Silver, Gold and Platinum packages with their own response targets. The self-serve plans work differently: they renew automatically, and refunds are available within 14 days of an initial annual purchase or 3 days of an initial monthly one, never for renewals, trial conversions, App Store purchases or add-ons bought later, such as extra seats or AI credits; seats bought with the initial subscription are refunded with it. One more clause deserves notice. Vimeo may list their name and logo among its customers.

> ⚠ **The SLA lives on the order form:** The Enterprise uptime commitment applies only if the order form says the subscription is subject to it. Ask for that line in writing before you sign.

## Standard, Advanced or Enterprise: how to choose

| | Standard | Advanced | Enterprise |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Billed annually | $25 per seat a month | $75 per seat a month | Contact sales |
| Billed monthly | $41 per seat a month | $125 per seat a month | Contact sales |
| Seats included | 5 | 10 | Quoted |
| Storage | 4TB | 7TB | Quoted |
| Live events and webinars | No | 2 at once, 100 registrants | With the Events add-on: 3 at once, over 100 registrants (500+ on the pricing page, up to 500 per the help center) |
| SSO, SCIM, eCDN, data residency | No | No | Yes (data residency is a purchased add-on) |

Start from the job, not the feature list. A team that only embeds videos and collects leads fits the first column, a team that runs webinars or town halls needs the second, and a company whose IT department requires single sign-on, regional storage or a health-data agreement belongs in the third. The prices are labelled per seat, and the pricing page does not state a checkout total for the included seats, so confirm the total at checkout before you commit.

Billing choice matters as much as the tier. On Standard, twelve monthly payments of $41 per seat come to $492 per seat against $300 per seat paid upfront, by our arithmetic. On Advanced, the same year costs $1,500 per seat billed monthly against $900 per seat billed annually. Then check traffic. Starter, Standard and Advanced carry a 2TB monthly bandwidth threshold (Enterprise bandwidth is custom), and Vimeo contacts accounts that pass 2TB in a month twice within 12 months or 10TB once, gives seven days, and can then require an upgrade, charge for excess usage or suspend playback. Most users never reach it. US 501(c)(3) nonprofits can get a one-time 25% off code on self-serve plans, and our [Vimeo pricing guide](/articles/vimeo-pricing) has the full plan math.

## What changed after Bending Spoons bought Vimeo

Bending Spoons completed its acquisition of Vimeo in November 2025, adding it to a portfolio that includes Brightcove, StreamYard, WeTransfer, Evernote, Meetup and AOL, and Marco Castello now leads Vimeo. The first public plan set priorities through July 2026: a simpler core product, better reliability, and Enterprise and OTT roadmaps built from talks with over 50 customers, with one or two small improvements shipped each week. The Enterprise updates since then point the same way. The August release added registration forms translated into up to 8 languages and AI credit usage pages, and the September release brought plain-language library questions and custom event landing pages.

Other changes touch business buyers directly. The Enterprise Terms were updated in March 2026. Vimeo On Demand stopped new purchases and renewals on September 21, 2026 and shuts down on November 20, 2026, so a company that sells training or video content must move to Vimeo OTT or elsewhere. Vimeo is also testing a new plan lineup, with names such as Creator, Core, Professional and Studio, on some accounts while the pricing page still sells Starter, Standard and Advanced. Check your own account first. Vimeo's post-acquisition roadmap post listed enhanced audit logs and new multi-video engagement analytics as in development, though the Engagement tab already aggregates retention across videos.

## FAQ

**Which Vimeo plan is best for a business?**

Standard fits teams that embed branded videos and capture leads, Advanced adds webinars, live events and marketing integrations, and Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM, eCDN and a HIPAA agreement, with data residency and the Events add-on (needed for any live event on Enterprise) sold on top.

**How much does Vimeo Enterprise cost?**

Vimeo publishes no Enterprise price; it is quoted by the sales team. Unless the order form says otherwise, agreements renew automatically for 12-month periods (cancel with written notice at least 30 days before renewal), and payments are non-cancelable and non-refundable.

**Can Vimeo run company town halls?**

Yes, from Advanced, with polls and simulive replays for other time zones. On Enterprise, every live event needs the Events add-on; SSO-gated streams, eCDN for large internal audiences, backup streams and moderated Q&A are Enterprise features on top of it. SSO login inside an embedded live player is still listed as coming soon.

**Does Vimeo support SSO and SCIM?**

On Enterprise only. Single sign-on uses SAML 2.0 with providers such as Okta, Entra ID (paid tiers only) and Google Workspace, and SCIM version 2 adds and removes users automatically.

**Where does Vimeo store business data?**

Enterprise customers who buy the data residency feature (set up with the account team, with a custom subdomain) can choose US or European storage, with European hosting in Germany and Belgium and no separate UK region. Some data, such as user profiles, analytics and comments, stays outside the EU.

**Is Vimeo HIPAA ready?**

Only on Enterprise, for eligible customers who sign a business associate agreement covering the account on the order form. The setup requires SSO and two-factor sign-in, disabled comments and third-party integrations without their own agreement, and Embed-only privacy for videos shared with patients; Vimeo AI tools and early-access features are not automatically covered.

## The bottom line

Vimeo works for business when you match the plan to the job. Standard covers marketing teams that embed and brand product videos and capture leads. Advanced adds the webinars, town halls and marketing integrations that most mid-size teams eventually want, within limits of 100 registrants and two events at once. Enterprise is where single sign-on, SCIM, eCDN and a HIPAA agreement live. Data residency and the Events add-on, which every live event on Enterprise needs, are sold on top, and legal hold comes with packages that include the Data Retention module. The contract is non-refundable, auto-renews in 12-month periods unless the order form says otherwise, and carries an uptime promise only if the order form says so. Read that contract closely, and confirm seat totals at checkout.
