## Vimeo pricing at a glance

Vimeo sells four self-serve options and a quoted Enterprise tier. Free costs nothing, Starter is $12 per seat a month billed annually, Standard is $25 per seat a month billed annually and Advanced is $75 per seat a month billed annually [1]. Paying month to month raises those rates to $20, $41 and $125 per seat a month. **The pricing page labels every price per seat**, and each plan includes a different number of seats, so the figure on the plan card is not always the figure on your invoice. Enterprise has no published price at all. This guide covers what each plan unlocks and the four line items that push the real bill up.

Some context matters before the numbers. Bending Spoons has owned Vimeo since November 2025, and the lineup is in motion. The help center already describes a new set of plans that some accounts see, while the pricing page still sells the options above. Vimeo's pages also disagree with each other, because older product pages still carry earlier prices and storage figures. We read the pricing page from the United States on 18 October 2026 and treat it as the reference, with the help center filling in the billing rules. Prices are in US dollars, and Vimeo adds sales tax in a list of states that includes New York, Texas and Pennsylvania.

## What each plan costs, and per what

| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Seats included | Storage |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 | $0 | 1 | 3 GB for embeddable and non-public videos |
| Starter | $12 per seat a month ($144 a year) | $20 per seat a month | 1 | 2TB |
| Standard | $25 per seat a month ($300 a year) | $41 per seat a month | 5 | 4TB |
| Advanced | $75 per seat a month ($900 a year) | $125 per seat a month | 10 | 7TB |
| Enterprise | Not published | Not published | Custom | Custom |

> 💡 **Price the whole year first:** Annual billing costs about 40 percent less, but it is charged upfront. Pay monthly for a short project and switch to annual once the team is stable.

The annual discount is real, at about 40 percent on Starter and Advanced. By our arithmetic, twelve monthly payments of $20 come to $240 for a Starter seat, against $144 billed annually. Twelve monthly payments of $41 come to $492 for a Standard seat, against $300 a year. On Advanced, twelve monthly payments of $125 add up to $1,500 a seat, against $900 billed annually. Annual plans are charged in full upfront, while monthly plans bill every 30 days, so the lower rate asks for the cash on day one. **Monthly billing still has a place.** A team that needs Advanced for one quarter of live events pays three monthly payments of $125, or $375 a seat.

The page data also shows a weekly rate for Standard: $14.99 a week. It pays off only for a job of one or two weeks. By our arithmetic, three weeks come to $44.97, more than one month billed monthly at $41. It is a poor way to pay for a year. Vimeo does not say whether the weekly rate is per seat. If it is, 52 weeks at $14.99 add up to $779.48, more than one and a half times the $492 of monthly billing and more than two and a half times the $300 annual rate. The weekly option sits in the page data, not on every plan card. Check your checkout before planning around it.

## What each plan unlocks

### Free and Starter: hosting before branding

Since 7 October 2026, public videos with embedding switched off have unlimited storage, while embeddable and non-public videos share 3 GB and 1TB of monthly bandwidth. You get one seat, no ads, recordings up to 30 minutes each and automatic captions and transcripts. You do not get password protection, embed domain privacy, player customization or live streaming. The new Free plan is not currently offered in Italy and Austria. Our guide to [whether Vimeo is free](/articles/is-vimeo-free) covers the limits. Starter is the first paid step: password and unlisted privacy, a custom URL, player customization and unlimited showcases. The Free plan page lists chapters and version history, while older pages put them on Starter.

### Standard: the brand and marketing plan

Standard is built for teams that publish under their own brand. It adds player branding, third-party player support, a custom watermark, a brand kit with custom fonts, text-based editing, stock assets, the AI script generator for the teleprompter, custom cards and calls to action, and lead capture. Storage doubles to 4TB and five seats are included. Vimeo's help page for Standard still lists selling through Vimeo On Demand, but On Demand stopped new subscriptions and renewals on 21 September 2026 and shuts down on 20 November 2026. Treat that line as history. Support response also improves with each plan, with a first-response estimate of eight hours on Starter, six on Standard and two on Advanced.

### Advanced: where live begins

**Live events and webinars start at Advanced**, and nothing below it streams live. The plan runs two concurrent events of up to 12 hours each, with up to 100 registrants per event and seven guest speakers. It adds simulcasting to 10 integrated destinations plus 20 custom RTMP targets, DVR, simulive, Q&A, polls and chat, one Livestream Studio license, AI summaries and chapters, and chat support during events. Marketing integrations arrive here too, covering Constant Contact, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Keap and Campaign Monitor. Storage rises to 7TB with ten seats included. If live video is the reason you are shopping, budget for this plan from the start, because a lower tier cannot be stretched to cover a webinar.

### Enterprise: a contract, not a price

Enterprise is bought through a sales form. It adds SSO and SCIM, DRM, geo-blocking, data residency in the US or the EU, audit logs, a SOC 2 Type II report, a HIPAA BAA, an enterprise CDN, the AI API, an account manager, phone support and a 99.9% uptime SLA. Live extras need Enterprise with the Events add-on: backup streams, the Live API, three concurrent events and more than 100 registrants (the pricing page shows 500+, the help center up to 500 per event). The terms differ from self-serve. Agreements renew for 12-month periods unless the order form says otherwise, and payments are non-cancelable and non-refundable. To stop one, give written notice at least 30 days before it begins.

## Seats: the line that grows with the team

Every paid plan is priced per seat, and the plans include one, five or ten seats. **The pricing page does not state the checkout total for those included seats**, so do not assume one. Build your cart and confirm the total at checkout before you commit. Beyond the included seats, any paid plan can add seats up to 200, and anything larger needs Enterprise. Added seats are pro-rated for the rest of the billing cycle. Only the account owner can buy them, and multi-seat purchases have to happen on the website, not in the mobile apps.

Count roles, not people. Contributor and Admin roles take paid seats on Starter, Standard and Advanced. Viewers can be invited at no cost, but they still count toward the 200 limit. Review links are the cheap route for clients and approvers, because they can be shared with people who have no Vimeo account or team seat; Free gets one link per video, and Vimeo's help center allows more from Standard. Removing seats later is not symmetrical either. Monthly subscribers can delete seats themselves, while annual subscribers have to contact support. Plan the team before you pay annually.

> ⚠ **Extra seats are not refundable:** Seats added after your first purchase cannot be refunded, and annual subscribers must contact support to remove them. Add seats only when someone will use them.

## Why bandwidth, not storage, sets the ceiling

Storage is the number on the plan card, and it is lifetime storage: 2TB on Starter, 4TB on Standard and 7TB on Advanced. Each file can run up to 300GB and 24 hours, though the help pages advise keeping files within 200GB. Bandwidth is the quieter limit, and it does not grow with the tier. **Starter, Standard and Advanced share a 2TB monthly bandwidth threshold**, while Free gets 1TB for embeddable and non-public videos and Enterprise is custom [2]. A team that upgrades from Starter to Advanced gets more storage and seats, but not more monthly delivery.

Passing it does not stop playback. Vimeo reaches out only after a pattern: more than 2TB in a month at least twice in 12 months, or more than 10TB in a single month once. After that contact you have seven days to respond and reach a resolution, and nothing changes on the account in the meantime. Without a resolution, Vimeo can require an upgrade or suspend the account temporarily, which stops playback everywhere your videos are embedded while you keep access to them. Opening several self-serve accounts does not raise the limit.

Vimeo says over 99% of its users never reach the threshold, and it ties the policy to its ad-free model, which recovers delivery costs only through subscriptions. The heavy users are the ones to plan for: a popular public course, a product video on a busy site, a large live audience. Live viewers carry no overage charges while the account stays under the 2TB monthly limit. Vimeo's custom contract plans, such as Enterprise, are annual, with extra bandwidth priced per GB and volume discounts, so a monthly spike does not change the yearly price. The bandwidth report shows usage over time, though its data can lag three to four days.

## AI credits: the meter on translation and live captions

The plan price covers basic AI tools, but translation and live captions run on AI credits, and credits need a paid plan. Subtitle translation costs 10 credits per minute of video per language, and live auto-captions cost 10 credits a minute on live events, which start at Advanced [3]. Audio dubbing, at 20 credits per minute per language, is an Enterprise feature. Live captions moved to credits on 1 June 2026, replacing caption-hour allowances. Paid plans receive a one-time grant of 250 free credits that expires 30 days later and does not renew. Free and trial accounts get none. Outside Enterprise, you cannot pre-buy bundles; the account owner buys exactly the credits a translation needs when starting it.

The meter adds up fast. By our arithmetic, a 10-minute video subtitled into three languages uses 300 credits, more than the whole one-time grant. The 250 free credits cover 25 minutes of subtitle translation in one language, once. A one-hour live event with auto-captions switched on uses 600 credits. Running out mid-event does not stop the stream, but the extra usage may be charged. Credits are non-refundable and cannot move between accounts. Editing a finished translation uses no extra credits, while translating again after you edit the video is not refunded.

> 💡 **Budget AI credits per minute:** On paid plans, subtitle translation costs 10 credits per minute per language, and the 250 free credits come once and expire after 30 days. Multiply by your video minutes and languages before you start a batch.

## Billing rules that decide what you get back

### Renewals and refunds

Every self-serve plan renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly cycle, and completing a purchase means agreeing to that. To stop it, cancel at least one day before the renewal date in your billing settings. You keep paid features until the cycle ends, then the account drops to Free. Refunds are narrow. Vimeo refunds an annual plan within 14 days of the initial purchase and a monthly plan within 3 days [4]. **Add-ons are not refundable**, which covers extra seats and AI credits, except seats bought with the first subscription. Renewals, charges right after a trial ends, partial periods and App Store purchases fall outside the policy too.

### Trials, plan changes and discounts

Free trials exist for every paid plan except Enterprise, and many Vimeo pages advertise seven days. An uncancelled trial converts and charges the card on file, and that first charge is not refundable. Set a reminder. Upgrades are prorated automatically against what you already paid. Downgrades take effect only at the next renewal, so you keep the higher plan until then. Vimeo takes cards and PayPal (PayPal not for extra seats), but not checks, invoices or purchase orders. US 501(c)(3) nonprofits can get a one-time 25% discount code on self-serve plans, and verified US students and teachers can get a one-time code as well. Promo codes cannot apply to trials, renewals, extra seats or Enterprise.

## A new lineup is in testing, and some pages lag behind

Vimeo is testing new plans on some accounts. The help center describes Creator, Core and Professional as rolling out gradually depending on the account, and none of them has a published price. It also describes Studio at $400 a month billed annually with 10 seats, 10TB of storage and 36TB of yearly bandwidth with no monthly cap. Creator, Core and Professional use managed storage, where public videos that cannot be embedded have unlimited room; for Studio, the help center lists 10TB of total storage. The pricing page still sells Starter, Standard and Advanced, so check what your own account offers before you compare.

The second trap is stale information. Several Vimeo product pages still show older prices, smaller storage figures and an older Free plan allowance, and many help articles still use legacy names such as Basic, Plus, Pro, Business and Premium. Those names describe accounts that predate the current lineup. When a help article says a feature needs Premium, the current equivalent is usually Advanced or Enterprise, and the pricing page is the place to confirm it. When figures on two Vimeo pages disagree, trust the pricing page and the checkout over any marketing page.

## Selling video is priced separately

Charging viewers is not part of these plans. That runs through Vimeo OTT, now also called Vimeo Streaming, which has no upfront cost and works on fees. Subscriptions cost $1 per subscriber a month, plus a card fee of 2.5% and $0.30 when Vimeo processes the payment. One-off sales and rentals cost 10% plus $0.50 per transaction. Upload hours are bought separately: the first hour is free, then $99 for up to 10 hours, $149 for up to 25 and $199 for up to 50, with no refunds for unused hours. Branded TV and mobile apps are Enterprise-only. Our [Vimeo OTT guide](/articles/vimeo-ott) covers setup.

The older route is closing. Vimeo On Demand stopped new subscriptions and renewals on 21 September 2026 and shuts down on 20 November 2026. On that day, buyers lose streaming access to the titles they purchased. Vimeo points sellers to OTT instead. Start nothing new there. If you still sell through On Demand, move your catalog to OTT before the shutdown and budget for the fees above.

## How the bill compares with Wistia's

Wistia prices differently. Its Business tier is $79 a month billed annually or $99 a month billed monthly, with three seats included and extra seats at $25 each (period not stated). It also shows 250 GB or more of storage and 1 TB of bandwidth on that tier, and its Free tier is $0 with 25 GB of storage and one user. Wistia's annual toggle saves 20 percent. Wistia lets self-serve customers cancel at any time (not Enterprise or signed order forms) but issues no refund when they do. The two pricing pages label their prices differently, so compare a full year for your real team on both checkouts rather than the headline rates.

The structures differ more. Vimeo gives Starter, Standard and Advanced the same 2TB monthly bandwidth threshold, while Wistia's Business tier includes 1 TB a month. Vimeo refunds a first annual purchase within 14 days (3 for monthly) and nothing after that, while Wistia's page says cancelling never brings a refund. Wistia counts recordings toward storage, while on Vimeo new recordings count only on Free, not on Starter, Standard or Advanced. Vimeo's total is lifetime storage that does not reset. ## FAQ

**How much does Vimeo cost?**

Starter is $12 per seat a month billed annually or $20 billed monthly, Standard is $25 per seat a month billed annually or $41 billed monthly, and Advanced is $75 per seat a month billed annually or $125 billed monthly. Enterprise has no published price.

**Is Vimeo priced per seat?**

Yes. The pricing page labels every price per seat, and plans include one, five or ten seats. It does not state the checkout total for included seats, so confirm the total at checkout.

**Which Vimeo plan includes live streaming?**

Live events and webinars start at Advanced, which runs two concurrent events with up to 100 registrants each. Enterprise with the Events add-on adds three concurrent events and more than 100 registrants.

**Can I get a refund on Vimeo?**

Self-serve plans bought on the website can be refunded within 14 days of the first annual purchase or 3 days of the first monthly one. Renewals, trial conversions, App Store purchases and add-ons such as extra seats and AI credits are not refunded.

**What happens if I go over Vimeo's bandwidth limit?**

On Starter, Standard and Advanced, playback does not stop at once. Vimeo contacts accounts that pass 2TB in a month twice in 12 months or 10TB once (on Free the threshold is 1TB for embeddable and non-public videos), gives seven days to respond, and can then require an upgrade or suspend playback.

**Does Vimeo offer discounts?**

US 501(c)(3) nonprofits can get a one-time 25% discount code on self-serve plans, and verified US students and teachers can get a one-time code. Promo codes do not apply to renewals, extra seats or Enterprise.

## The bottom line

Vimeo's pricing is simple on the card and more involved on the invoice. Starter at $12 per seat a month billed annually covers hosting and privacy, Standard at $25 per seat a month billed annually adds branding and marketing tools, and Advanced at $75 per seat a month billed annually is the only self-serve plan with live events. The real bill depends on seats beyond the included ones, the 2TB monthly bandwidth threshold on self-serve paid plans, AI credits for translation and captions, and whether you pay annually. Pay annually only once your team size is settled, confirm the checkout total, and remember that add-ons cannot be refunded.
