Zendesk's pricing page lists three self-serve plans, all billed per agent per month: Support Team at $19 billed annually or $25 billed monthly, Suite Team at $55 or $69, and Suite Professional at $115 or $149.[1] Every agent, admin and suspended agent takes a paid seat, so the bill grows with the team. There is no free plan. For most small teams the real choice sits between Suite Team, the cheapest plan with chat, voice and a help center, and Suite Professional, where SLAs and skills routing start. Budget beyond the seat price, too. AI agents, Copilot and phone minutes all bill separately.

**$55** — Suite Team per agent per month billed annually: the cheapest Zendesk plan with chat, voice and a help center.

- **$19-$115** — Per agent per month billed annually, the three listed plans
- **24%** — Largest annual saving per plan (Support Team, our arithmetic)
- **$2.00** — Per automated resolution pay-as-you-go, after the plan allowance

## Three plans on the page, one behind a sales call

The rendered pricing page shows annual prices only and labels them 20% off. Monthly prices exist, and they are what you pay on a month-to-month subscription. The top tier, Suite Enterprise, is sold bundled with Copilot and carries no printed figure, so you get a number only after a sales call. Zendesk accepts cards, PayPal, ACH direct debit for eligible US accounts, and wire transfer or checks on managed accounts, billed in USD, EUR, GBP or BRL.

> **About these prices:** Prices shown are what Zendesk lists for visitors in the United States, in US dollars. Your price can differ by country, currency and local taxes such as VAT. Check your current price — Zendesk: https://api.colosus.site/go/zendesk?to=pricing

| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | What it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Support Team | $19 per agent per month | $25 per agent per month | Email ticketing, macros, triggers, automations, ticket routing |
| Suite Team | $55 per agent per month | $69 per agent per month | Adds messaging and live chat, voice, one help center |
| Suite Professional | $115 per agent per month | $149 per agent per month | Adds SLAs, skills routing, community, up to 5 help centers |
| Suite Enterprise | Quote only | Quote only | Adds custom roles, audit logs, sandboxes |

Some plan names in Zendesk's help center are missing from this page. Suite Growth, Enterprise Plus, Support Professional and Support Enterprise serve existing customers or sales-assisted deals, and the pre-2021 legacy plans are closed. Their gates and older prices do not apply to a new buyer. Zendesk also raised renewal prices in July 2023, so any 2023 price list is history. Ask for a current written quote.

The 14-day trial needs no credit card, starts on Suite Professional for most buyers and admits up to five people including you. Trial data is permanently lost at the end unless you buy or export it. Early-stage startups can apply for six months of the Suite for up to 50 agents, longer only through Zendesk's partner VCs and accelerators. Eligibility rules are in [is Zendesk free](/articles/is-zendesk-free).

## Annual billing saves less than the label, and locks you in

Zendesk labels annual billing 20% off. By our arithmetic, the real saving is about 24% on Support Team, 20% on Suite Team and 23% on Suite Professional. Per agent per year, annual billing comes to $228, $660 and $1,380, against $300, $828 and $1,788 for twelve monthly payments. Put the other way round, paying monthly costs about 32%, 25% and 30% more. The gap is real.

The catch is the contract. Annual charges are non-refundable, and you cannot downgrade or drop agents during the term. So the honest break-even is time. On every listed plan, one annual payment equals between nine and ten months of monthly billing for the same seat. If you might stop, shrink or switch plans within nine months, monthly is cheaper overall. Moving from annual to monthly later needs approval and starts at the next cycle, so one month into an annual term you wait eleven months.

> 💡 **Go monthly if seats may drop:** Annual billing cannot be downgraded or reduced mid-term and is non-refundable. If seats may drop within nine months, monthly billing costs less overall; a team that only adds seats pays less on annual billing.

## Which plan the job actually needs

Support Team is email ticketing only. It has triggers, automations, macros, views, ticket routing and daily-refresh dashboards, plus public social replies on Facebook and X. It has no messaging or live chat, no help center and no voice. Zendesk sells messaging and the help center to Support plans as separate products, which is why most buyers who want chat land on Suite instead. For an email-only team, it is the cheapest paid step.

Suite Team adds the channels: the Web Widget and mobile SDKs for messaging, WhatsApp with five numbers included, voice with voicemail and group routing, and one help center. That help center runs in one language on the default theme, without community forums or a customer portal for ticket management. Suite Team also lacks SLA policies, skills-based routing and multiple ticket forms. Omnichannel routing is included, but as an oldest-first queue.

Suite Professional opens most of those gates: SLA policies, skills and priority routing, custom queues, multiple ticket forms, hourly custom reports, up to five help centers in 40-plus languages, community forums and the customer portal. It also includes up to 100 light agents and Admin Copilot. **Buy it for SLAs or skills routing**, not for extra help centers alone. Suite Enterprise adds custom roles, audit logs, two sandboxes and group SLAs, which matter mainly when security reviews demand them.

## The meters on top of the seat price

### AI agents bill per automated resolution

AI agents come with every plan, but they bill per **automated resolution**: a request an AI agent resolves without handing it to a human. Each plan includes a small allowance, 5 per agent per month on Support Team and Suite Team and 10 on Suite Professional, up to 10,000 a year. Beyond that, Zendesk charges $1.50 each when bought ahead (committed), or $2.00 pay-as-you-go.[1] Included resolutions do not roll over. At the limit, admins either allow overage or pause the AI agents.[2]

Ten agents on Suite Professional include 100 automated resolutions a month. A month with 300 means 200 extra: $400 pay-as-you-go or $300 committed, by our arithmetic. Committed resolutions are 25% cheaper each, so commit only volume you are confident you will use, and start on pay-as-you-go for a measured month. Assisted escalations, where a human finished the job, do not count against the allowance, and testing in sandboxes consumes nothing. Our [Zendesk AI playbook](/articles/zendesk-ai-playbook) covers what else counts.

> ⚠ **Set the AI overage switch early:** With overage allowed, each automated resolution beyond the allowance bills at $2.00 pay-as-you-go. Choose pause if you want a hard cap; AI agents then hand requests to live agents.

### Copilot and the other add-ons

Copilot is a $50 per agent per month add-on, paid yearly, for Suite Professional and higher.[3] You cannot buy it for a few agents. It covers every agent seat or none. Suite Professional plus Copilot comes to $165 per agent per month billed annually. Without the add-on, Suite Professional still includes capped writing and summary tools: 5 uses per agent a month, pooled, at most 500 per account, pausing at the cap with no overage charge.

The Workforce Engagement Bundle, which packages workforce management with Zendesk QA, costs $50 per agent per month, paid yearly, and covers all agents in the account. Contact Center, an AI voice add-on built on Amazon Connect, costs $83 per agent per month, paid yearly, plus separate AWS usage invoices. Zendesk does not publish monthly prices for these add-ons. Budget them as annual commitments.

### Channels carry their own fees

Voice is usage-priced. In the US a number costs $1 a month and a toll-free number $2 a month, with inbound calls at $0.016 a minute and recording at $0.003 a minute. Voicemail, transcription and AI agent minutes bill separately. Since 1 October 2026, Meta charges its own fees for some WhatsApp replies and utility templates sent inside the 24-hour service window. Sunshine Conversations, the messaging platform included at low volume from Suite Professional (1,000 monthly active users), costs $50 per extra pack of 2,500 monthly active users.

## Seats, renewals and the fine print

Every agent, admin, the account owner and even suspended agents use a paid seat, and agent and admin seats cost the same. Contributors are free, and light agents take no paid seat; Suite Professional includes up to 100 (Suite Enterprise up to 1,000), while Support Team and Suite Team get them only through an add-on. Either role takes a seat if it holds an agent role in another product. On those plans, give view-and-comment colleagues a light seat. New agents take effect at once with prorated charges. Adding a Suite seat adds it in every Suite product. Seat count also sets your data and file storage.

Reductions work the other way. Removing seats, downgrading or changing the billing cycle creates a pending change for the next cycle, and you keep paying the current rate with no prorated refund. The Customer Agreement bars downgrades and agent cuts during a subscription term.[4] Charges are non-refundable outside narrow exceptions, such as an uncured warranty breach by Zendesk.

Renewal is automatic, at then-current rates, unless written notice arrives at least 30 days before the term ends. Set a reminder 45 to 60 days ahead. Only the account owner can cancel, effective at the end of the billing cycle. Export your data within 30 days of the term end; permanent deletion starts 90 days after cancellation. Missed payments move fast. Card-paying accounts are suspended 22 days after the renewal date and cancelled 29 days after it.

> 💡 **Give viewers a light agent seat:** Light agents take no paid seat; Suite Professional includes up to 100 (Suite Enterprise up to 1,000), while Support Team and Suite Team get them only through an add-on. Contributors are free. Keep paid seats for people who answer customers.

## What a team actually pays, and how rivals compare

Five agents on Support Team billed annually cost $95 a month, or $1,140 a year. Ten agents on Suite Professional billed annually cost $13,800 a year, and Copilot on all ten seats adds $6,000. Those ten seats include 100 automated resolutions a month, so a busy AI agent adds overage, and phone minutes come on top again. The seat price is the floor of the bill. Rarely the whole bill.

Against Freshdesk, the entry price matches but the features do not. Freshdesk Growth and Zendesk Support Team both list $19 per agent per month billed annually, yet Growth includes a knowledge base while Support Team has no help center. On their higher plans, Freshdesk's Freddy AI Copilot (Pro and Enterprise) can be bought for chosen agents, while Zendesk's Copilot (Suite Professional and higher) covers every seat. Our [Freshdesk pricing breakdown](/articles/freshdesk-pricing) lists its full plans.

Intercom prices per seat instead, with Essential listed at $29 per seat a month and $0.99 per Fin AI Agent outcome on all plans. Compared overage to overage, after Zendesk's included allowance runs out, a Zendesk automated resolution costs $1.50 committed or $2.00 pay-as-you-go. HubSpot Service Hub, Salesforce Service Cloud and Zoho Desk are the other usual shortlist names. Check their own pricing pages.

## FAQ

**Does Zendesk charge extra for data storage?**

Storage scales with seats: 10 GB plus 50 MB per agent on Support Team and Suite Team, 10 GB plus 100 MB per agent on Suite Professional. Going over does not slow the account, but extra fees apply.

**Is 24/7 support included in any Zendesk plan?**

No. Standard support on Suite plans is web and phone during local business hours, 8 to 5, five days a week. Round-the-clock support needs a paid Premier plan, and Zendesk does not publish its price.

**Can I try a higher Zendesk plan before upgrading?**

Selected existing accounts can try a higher plan or feature for 30 days, after which what was built becomes read-only. The Copilot add-on has its own 30-day trial, started by the owner or a billing admin.

**Do Zendesk's listed prices include tax?**

No. Zendesk's prices exclude taxes, which are added to the invoice.

## The bottom line

Zendesk is a per-agent bill with meters attached. Support Team is the cheapest door but covers email only; Suite Team is the real starting point for chat, voice and a help center; Suite Professional earns its price when you need SLAs, skills routing or a multilingual help center. Choose monthly billing if seats may drop or you may leave within about nine months, annual billing if you will only keep or add seats, set the AI overage switch on purpose, and calendar the renewal notice. Read that way, the pricing is predictable.
