Fireflies.ai charges per seat per month, and every workspace member counts as a seat. Free is $0 with no card and no time limit. Pro costs $10 per seat per month billed annually or $18 per seat per month billed monthly. Business costs $19 per seat per month billed annually or $29 per seat per month billed monthly, and Enterprise costs $39 per seat per month, billed annually only [1]. For most small teams the real choice is Pro versus Business, and storage usually decides it. Budget for a second meter, too. AI features run on credits.

Four plans on one per-seat price list

Every teammate added to the workspace takes a seat on the workspace's plan, whether admin, member or editor. Sharing a recap link with a client or a candidate adds no seat and costs nothing. One person on several devices is still one seat, but under the Terms seats cannot be rotated or shared. In the table, storage means the total minutes kept on the account, not a monthly allowance that refills.

About these prices

Prices shown are what Fireflies.ai lists for visitors in the United States, in US dollars. Your price can differ by country, currency and local taxes such as VAT.

Plan Price Storage (running total) Recording limit per meeting AI credits (one-time, team)
Free $0, no card, no time limit 400 minutes per team 2 hours 20
Pro $10 per seat per month billed annually, $18 per seat per month billed monthly 8,000 minutes per seat, pooled 2 hours 20
Business $19 per seat per month billed annually, $29 per seat per month billed monthly Unlimited 3 hours 30
Enterprise $39 per seat per month, billed annually only Unlimited 4 hours 50

Each step up adds more than storage. Pro unlocks 720p video capture, downloads, AI Skills, the Personal Assistant, Voice Agents and most integrations; a few (Redtail, WhatsApp, Amazon S3, Snowflake, Affinity) need Business, and Free has no app integrations, though the API and MCP server work on every plan. Business adds Multi-language Mode (in beta), conversation intelligence, user groups, integration rules, priority support and three bot meetings at once instead of one. Enterprise adds SSO and SCIM, the Rules Engine, 1080p video and Private Storage. HIPAA sits only on Enterprise, and only with Private Storage switched on and a signed BAA.

Annual or monthly: what a year really costs

Fireflies says annual billing saves up to 44%, and that holds for Pro only. By our arithmetic, one Pro seat costs $120 a year billed annually against $216 billed monthly, a $96 saving. By our arithmetic, one Business seat costs $228 a year billed annually against $348 billed monthly, a saving of $120, or 34.5%. By our arithmetic, one Enterprise seat runs $468 a year, since there is no monthly option. Annual plans are paid upfront, so they win only if the team keeps the tool.

Short projects flip the math. By our arithmetic, six months of monthly Pro costs $108, still under the $120 annual price, and a seventh month tips it over. By our arithmetic, seven monthly Business payments stay below the $228 annual bill, and the eighth crosses it. So pay monthly for anything shorter than seven months on Pro or eight on Business. A pilot that might end early belongs on monthly billing. A tool the team already relies on belongs on annual.

Seats multiply everything. By our arithmetic, a five-person team pays $600 a year on Pro or $1,140 on Business, both billed annually, and $1,080 or $1,740 billed monthly. The step from Pro to Business is $9 per seat per month on annual billing, or $11 per seat per month on monthly billing. Above 50 members, Fireflies asks teams to contact it for volume pricing and publishes no discount percentages. Prices exclude taxes.

Price a pilot on monthly billing

Under seven months on Pro or eight on Business, monthly billing costs less than a full annual plan. Switch to annual once the team commits.

Storage, meeting length and the per-minute charge

Storage is the limit that pushes teams upward. The 8,000 minutes on Pro are a running total per seat, pooled across the team, so three Pro seats share 24,000 minutes [2]. They never reset. By our arithmetic, a seat recording five hours a week fills its share in roughly six months, and one recording two hours a week lasts about fifteen months. Free gets 400 minutes for the whole team, under seven hours of meetings.

At the limit nothing stops. New meetings are still captured, but older ones must be deleted before the new ones open, and each deletion returns its minutes. Meeting length is the second hard limit: the bot leaves after 2 hours on Free and Pro, 3 hours on Business and 4 hours on Enterprise. It can be re-added, but the meeting then shows as two parts. Long workshops point to Business even before storage does.

The only per-minute charge applies to files, not live calls. Uploads and external imports above the monthly limit cost $0.01 per minute, billed in the next cycle with an in-app notice, and processing does not stop. Recordings from the bot, the Chrome extension or the mobile app are never charged per minute. Teams moving an old archive in after upgrading should count those imports first.

AI credits: the second meter

AskFred, AI Skills, the Personal Assistant, Voice Agents, Autofill CRM, Live Assist answers and the Slack and Email Assistants all run on AI credits. Transcription, standard summaries and summary templates do not. Each plan comes with a one-time allotment shared by the whole team, never multiplied by seats: 20 credits on Free and Pro, 30 on Business and 50 on Enterprise. Upgrading replaces the allotment rather than adding to it. A ten-seat Business team starts with 30 credits in total. That runs out fast.

More credits are a paid add-on on paid plans, from $5 a month for 50 credits in a team pool, with annual billing 20% lower [3]. By our arithmetic a credit costs $0.10 in the smallest monthly pack and $0.048 in the largest annual one. Voice Agents use 1 credit per minute, so a 10-minute screening call takes 10 credits, a third of the Business allotment. AskFred queries are priced dynamically by how many meetings and sources they read.

Watch the moment credits run out. A Free account meets a paywall and is never charged. On a paid plan without a credit subscription, Fireflies automatically puts the account on the lowest paid add-on tier and shows a banner, while existing subscribers move up a tier. Auto-Upgrade can be switched off in billing settings, after which credit features pause until the next cycle or a purchase. AI credits are non-refundable, and purchased add-on credits do not roll over.

⚠️
Watch out
Credits auto-subscribe on paid plans

When the one-time AI credits run out on a paid plan, Fireflies subscribes the account to the lowest paid credit tier unless Auto-Upgrade is switched off in billing settings.

Free plan, trial, discounts and cancelling

The Free plan changed in September 2026. Accounts created since then get a few transcription credits, 3 when signing up on the web, unless calendar auto-join is on for all meetings, your own or teammates' meetings; then transcription is unlimited. Invite-only mode does not count, and older accounts keep unlimited free meetings. Free still has no downloads, video or app integrations, and our guide to whether Fireflies.ai is free covers every limit.

The trial is 7 days of Business, not Pro, and it needs a credit or debit card even though nothing is charged upfront [4]. Unless you cancel before day 7, the card is charged for Business automatically, at the monthly or annual billing chosen when starting the trial (monthly is preselected). Each account gets one trial, and a cancelled trial cannot be restarted. Teammates who accept invites during the trial become billed seats when it ends. NGOs, students and non-profits can get 10% off any paid plan by signing up with the organization's email domain and asking support.

💡
Toolkit tip
Cancel the trial a day early

The card is charged for Business on day 7 unless you cancel first, at the monthly or annual billing picked when the trial started (monthly is preselected). An AI-credit trial taken alongside it must be cancelled separately.

The custom notetaker name add-on costs $5 a month or $60 a year for an individual; a team sharing one name pays $5 a month for up to 5 users plus $5 a month per extra user. It is sold on Pro and Business, and Enterprise includes it free. Upgrades apply immediately with a prorated charge; downgrades start at the next cycle, with unused value turned into account credit. Removing a teammate returns nothing for the current cycle unless the seat goes within 7 days of being added. Under the Terms, cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.

One trap remains. Cancelling does not stop the bot: the account drops to Free at the end of the cycle and keeps auto-joining calendar meetings until you change the auto-join setting yourself. The AI-credit subscription is cancelled separately. Our Fireflies.ai review covers the bot's default behavior and recording consent, a duty the Terms place on you rather than on Fireflies.

⚠️
Watch out
Cancelling leaves the bot running

A cancelled subscription drops to Free, and the Free account keeps auto-joining calendar meetings until you change the auto-join setting.

How the price compares with Otter and Granola

Against Otter.ai, the gap is small and flips by plan. On annual billing, Fireflies Pro at $10 per seat per month costs $1.67 more than Otter Pro at $8.33 per user per month. Fireflies Business at $19 per seat per month costs $0.99 less than Otter Business at $19.99 per user per month, both billed annually. By our arithmetic, five users on annual Business pay $1,140 a year with Fireflies and $1,199.40 with Otter. Otter Pro is capped at 5 billed users, so bigger teams compare at Business.

Granola sells Business at $14 per user per month, billed monthly only, against Fireflies Pro at $18 per seat per month billed monthly, a $4 gap. The products differ in kind. Granola has no meeting bot and stores no audio or video, while Fireflies keeps audio and, from Pro, video. Teams that want playback or file uploads should weigh that before the price.

Yes. Fireflies allows a monthly-to-annual switch, and upgrades take effect immediately with the difference prorated.

Who can change the plan or see invoices?+

Only the Billing Admin changes plans. Workspace Owners, Admins and the Billing Admin can open the Billing tab and download invoices; standard members cannot.

Is there a free program for developers?+

Approved developers in the Fireflies Developer Program get complimentary Business access for three months, after a manual review.

The bottom line

Fireflies.ai is cheap to start and simple to price per seat, but two meters sit behind the sticker. Pro storage is a running total of 8,000 minutes per seat, and AI features draw on a small one-time credit allotment before a paid add-on starts. Teams recording a few hours a week can live on Pro billed annually for a year or more. Heavy recorders, long meetings and multilingual calls (Multi-language Mode is in beta) belong on Business, and annual billing beats monthly for anyone staying eight months or more.
