Tools that do it

Each one's way of doing it, and the point where it stops.

SE Ranking Does it

Backlink Checker shows referring domains, anchors and a 0-100 toxicity score per link; Backlink Gap Analyzer lists domains linking to up to 5 rivals but not to you, and Backlink Monitoring rechecks your own links every week. Where it stops: Tables show a capped sample of large profiles; the full list needs the Data API. No free plan, a 14-day trial.

Serpstat Does it

Backlink reports show Domain Rank, referring domains, anchors and new and lost links; Link Intersect lists sites linking to up to three rivals but not to you, and Link Tracker follows your own placements. Where it stops: The Free account allows 10 searches a day with 10 results per report.

Semrush Does it

Backlinks and Backlink Gap show who links to you and to rivals; Backlink Audit flags toxic links, sends removal emails through Gmail or Outlook and builds a disavow file for Google. Where it stops: Backlink index size claims are hard to verify from outside; compare referring domains for your own site against another tool.

Ahrefs Does it

Site Explorer lists referring domains and backlinks for any domain, folder or URL with Domain Rating and URL Rating; Alerts email new and lost links, and Link Intersect and Broken backlinks turn rivals' links into outreach targets. Where it stops: Ahrefs Free shows backlink data only for sites you verify; the free Backlink Checker shows the top 20 links of any site.

Mangools Does it

LinkMiner lists a domain's or folder's backlinks with Link Strength, dofollow or nofollow, a live preview and category filters, so you save the best prospects to favorite lists; SiteProfiler adds an authority snapshot. Where it stops: Data licensed from Majestic, not its own crawler; built for prospecting, not auditing millions of links.

The Links report shows the external links Google found to your site by linked page, linking site and link text; export Latest links monthly to spot new and lost links, and upload a disavow file when needed. Where it stops: Own verified sites only, a sample of links, 1,000-row tables, no nofollow flag; disavow does not support Domain properties.

Ubersuggest Partly

Backlinks overview shows new and lost links over 30 days, three years of history, Page Authority and Spam Score, with Backlink Opportunities pointing to sites that link to competitors. Where it stops: Free shows 100 backlinks per site; data comes from the Moz API; no toxic-link scoring or disavow workflow.
