Freshsales publishes three prices. There are four plans.

That is not a trick of phrasing. The pricing page shows Growth, Pro and Enterprise. A separate comparison page on the same site shows those three plus a free plan for up to three users, and the pricing page's own search description says a free plan is available[2][1]. If you landed on the obvious URL, you have already been shown an incomplete ladder.

OUR TAKE: The published rates are fair and the entry price is genuinely low. What the pricing page does not carry is most of what decides the bill: which plan your data model actually needs, what the add-ons cost once they are no longer optional, what happens to the price at renewal, and that the thing most buyers dislike about this product cannot be bought away at any tier.

The Toolkit take
4.3x
The jump from the advertised entry price to the plan where automation, AI, reporting and relational fields actually begin.
20% claimed
The flat annual-saving badge. The real figures are 18.2%, 17.0% and 16.9% — the claim is met on no plan.
$19 a seat
The branded documents add-on, offered identically on all three paid plans. On the entry plan it more than doubles the per-seat cost.
$0.013/min
The incoming local call rate once the included minutes run out. Not available on the free plan or during the trial.
## The four plans

Every figure is per user, per month. The page loads showing the annual rate.

Plan Month to month Billed annually Features included
Free nothing nothing 44 of 136
Growth $11 $9 82 of 136
Pro $47 $39 124 of 136
Enterprise $71 $59 133 of 136

The feature counts are not our estimate. Freshworks publishes a comparison with 136 rows, each carrying an explicit included-or-not flag per plan, and those are the totals[2].

💡
Toolkit tip

Work out your custom field needs before choosing a plan. Lookup and formula fields start at Pro, and fields above a plan's limit must be deleted before you can move down.

## The advertised saving is not the real saving

A badge beside the billing toggle states a flat twenty per cent for paying annually. Not "up to twenty per cent", twenty per cent[1].

Worked from the vendor's own monthly and annual figures, the actual savings are 18.2 per cent on Growth, 17.0 per cent on Pro and 16.9 per cent on Enterprise. The claim is not met on any of the three plans. The shortfall is small in dollars and it is a flat statement of fact that is not true, which is a different kind of problem from an optimistic range.

Where the money actually steps

The ladder has one cheap step and one expensive one, and the pricing page frames neither.

Free to Growth costs nine dollars a seat and brings 38 features, including the first workflows and the first API access. That is the step from a list to a system.

Growth to Pro costs thirty dollars a seat: 4.3 times the entry price; and brings 42 features. It is where every Freddy AI insight, advanced workflows, multiple pipelines, sales sequences, custom reports, territory management, multi-currency, sales forecasting and the webhook and data APIs all arrive[2]. If you are budgeting from the advertised entry price, this is the step that will break the budget.

Pro to Enterprise costs twenty dollars a seat and brings nine features. Per feature gained, that is three times the price of the step below it. You are not buying capability there; you are buying governance, field-level permissions, audit logs, record types, custom modules[2].

💡
Toolkit tip

Ask for the telephony rates for the countries you actually call, in writing. The vendor publishes a starting price for credits and an overage rate, but no tariff and no rounding rule.

## The add-ons, which are never included

Three add-ons are offered identically on all three paid plans, which means no amount of spending makes them part of the product.

Branded documents, nineteen dollars per user per month. On the Growth plan that more than doubles the per-seat cost[1].

Freddy AI Agent, forty-nine dollars per hundred sessions. A session is every interaction with one end user inside a twenty-four-hour window, so the unit is a day of one person's attention rather than a message. Previewing a bot while you build it consumes sessions, whether or not the bot is ever published. And the documentation states that an unlimited number may be purchased, with no spending ceiling documented anywhere[7].

Additional workflows, five dollars for ten. Every paid plan has a workflow cap, twenty, fifty, a hundred; and every paid plan, including the top one, sells more[2].

The five hundred chatbot sessions that appear as a plan feature in the comparison matrix are worth a separate warning. They look like a monthly allowance because of where they sit. The pricing page's own FAQ says they are limited to once per account[1].

Telephony is a separate purchase on every plan

Phone credits are prepaid and start at five dollars, on every plan including the free one[2].

The paid plans include free local incoming minutes: 2,000 a month on Growth, 3,000 on Pro, 5,000 on Enterprise: after which incoming local calls cost $0.013 a minute. Those free minutes apply to local numbers only, not to mobile or toll-free, and they are not available on the free plan or during the trial[8].

Two things the vendor does not publish: whether call time is billed per second or rounded up, and what a phone number costs to rent. The telephony pages name a renewal charge without attaching a figure to it. If calls are a large part of your use, that is the number to ask for in writing before you sign.

⚠️
Watch out

The master agreement reserves an explicit right to adjust the fee at renewal, with thirty days' notice. A budget built on today's per-seat rate is built on a figure the contract does not hold.

## The limits that decide which plan you need

The pricing page publishes almost none of these. They live in the help centre.

Limit Free Growth Pro Enterprise
Custom fields per entity none published 150 250 630
Lookup and formula fields none none yes yes
Basic workflows none 20 50 100
Advanced workflows none none 50 100
Sales pipelines one one 10 25
Sales sequences per user none none 10 25
Bulk emails per user per day none 250 1,000 5,000
File storage per user none 2 GB 5 GB 100 GB
API calls per account per hour — 1,000 2,000 5,000
API calls per minute — 400 400 400
Support 24x5 24x5 24x5 24x5

Three rows in that table do most of the work.

Lookup and formula fields are the two field types that let one record point at another, and they do not exist below Pro[4]. If your data has relationships, the nine-dollar plan is not an option at any volume.

The per-minute API ceiling is 400 on every plan[5]. The hourly figure climbs and the per-minute figure does not, so any integration that bursts is governed by the same limit whether you pay nine dollars or fifty-nine.

Support does not move at all[2]. The free plan and the Enterprise plan get the same 24x5.

One more thing about custom fields on the free plan: the vendor gives three different answers. Its limits table shows zero of every field type, its article announcing the free plan says five per module, and the comparison page says "basic limits" with no number[4]. We are not going to pick one for you.

A worked bill for ten people

The per-seat rate is the beginning of the number, not the number. Here is what ten people on Pro, paid annually, actually costs per month.

The licence is $39 a seat, so $390. That is the figure the pricing page gives you.

Add branded documents, if you send quotes or contracts out of the CRM, and that is $19 a seat on top: another $190, which is very nearly half again. Add a hundred Freddy AI Agent sessions at $49 if you run a customer-facing bot past the one-time grant. Add phone credits, which start at five dollars and are consumed by both calls and number rentals.

So the honest range for ten people is $390 if you use the CRM plainly, and around $630 before any telephony if you use the parts the pricing page advertises alongside it. The licence is roughly sixty per cent of that. Nothing here is hidden — every figure is published — but none of it is added up for you on the page where you choose a plan.

The same ten people on Growth would pay $90 for the licence. They would also have no sales sequences, no custom reports, no AI insights, one pipeline, and no way to relate one record to another. That is the comparison worth making, and it is not between $90 and $390. It is between a contact database and a CRM.

⚠️
Watch out

Renewal is automatic at the same seat count unless you give written notice thirty days before the term ends.

## Which page quotes you in which currency

Read from the United States on the same day, Freshworks' pricing page quotes dollars and its comparison page quotes euros, for the same plans at the same numbers[2]. The vendor's own data payload confirms the euro and dollar figures are numerically identical on every plan.

For an American buyer this is invisible. For a European one it means the price in euros is whatever a euro happens to be worth against a dollar that day, with no adjustment — and which figure you are shown depends on which of the vendor's two pricing pages you opened.

The free plan, since the pricing page will not tell you

Up to three users, at no cost, with 44 of the 136 published features[2].

What it has: contacts, accounts, deals, one visual pipeline, two-way email sync, email templates, a built-in phone, the chatbot builder, the mobile app, and import and migration from another CRM.

What it does not have: workflows of any kind, API access, file storage, a sales dashboard, curated reports, record tags, the product catalog, or a choice of data centre region[2]. Free local call minutes do not apply to it either[8].

It is a real product for three people who want to see whether the shape fits. It is not a plan to build on, and the absence of an API means getting your data out again is a manual job.

⚠️
Watch out

The free plan's custom field allowance is given three different answers across three of the vendor's own pages: zero, five per module, and 'basic limits' with no number.

## Downgrading costs you work

Moving to a cheaper plan is not a setting. Custom fields above the lower plan's limit must be deleted first, and the vendor works the arithmetic through with an example: drop from Enterprise to Pro with 300 fields in place and fifty of them have to go before the move can happen[4].

The contract is stricter still. The master agreement states that during a subscription term you may neither reduce your user count nor downgrade your plan, and that payment obligations are non-cancelable and non-refundable[3]. The help centre, meanwhile, publishes instructions for reducing your user count. Both are the vendor's own documents.

What happens at renewal

Plans renew automatically at the same seat count and the same plan unless you give written notice thirty days before the term ends[3].

And the agreement explicitly reserves the right to change the price at that point, naming inflation and product development among the reasons, with thirty days' notice[3]. A multi-year budget built on today's per-seat rate is built on a figure the contract does not promise to hold.

The trial

Twenty-one days of the full product. At expiry the account is suspended rather than downgraded to the free plan unless you choose one[1]. Free local call minutes do not apply during the trial[8], so a trial that involves heavy calling will need prepaid credit.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Freshsales cost?+

$9, $39 and $59 per user per month on annual billing, or $11, $47 and $71 month to month. There is also a free plan for up to three users, which the pricing page does not show.

What is the cheapest Freshsales plan?+

The free plan, for up to three users, with no workflows and no API. The cheapest paid plan is Growth at $9 a seat on annual billing, which has 20 workflows, one pipeline and no AI insights.

Does Freshsales have hidden fees?+

Nothing undisclosed, but several charges sit away from the pricing page: phone credits from five dollars on every plan, $0.013 a minute once included call minutes run out, $19 a seat for branded documents, $49 per hundred AI agent sessions, and five dollars for ten extra workflows.

Can I cancel Freshsales monthly?+

The master agreement states that payment obligations are non-cancelable and non-refundable, and that seats cannot be reduced nor plans downgraded during a subscription term. The help centre publishes a procedure for reducing users, which the agreement appears to forbid. Get the answer in writing before signing.

## What we would do

Budget for Pro. The nine-dollar plan is a real product only for a team whose records never need to point at one another and whose automation fits in twenty workflows, and that team is rarer than the pricing page implies.

If you are at three users or fewer and want to test the shape of it, the free plan is genuinely usable for that and costs nothing — provided you treat it as an evaluation rather than a home, because it has no API to get your data out through.

And whatever tier you land on, get two things in writing before signing: the telephony rates for the countries you call, and what the renewal price will be.
