Read AI is free on its Free plan, and every paid plan is priced per user per month. Pro costs $15 per user per month billed annually, or $19.75 per user per month billed monthly. Enterprise billed annually costs $22.50 per user per month, and Enterprise billed monthly costs $29.75 per user per month. Enterprise+ billed annually costs $29.75 per user per month, Enterprise+ billed monthly costs $39.75 per user per month, and Enterprise+ requires 5+ licenses.[1] Read AI labels annual billing as 25% off; by our arithmetic the real saving is 24.1% on Pro, 24.4% on Enterprise and 25.2% on Enterprise+. Pro billed annually is the default paid pick for one person who keeps it ten months or more. Recordings start at Enterprise.

About these prices

Prices shown are what Read AI lists for visitors in the United States, in US dollars. Your price can differ by country, currency and local taxes such as VAT.

Plan Billed annually Billed monthly Longest meeting Upload minutes a month
Free $0 per user per month, billed annually $0 per user per month, billed monthly 1 hour None
Pro $15 per user per month, billed annually $19.75 per user per month, billed monthly 4 hours 100
Enterprise $22.50 per user per month, billed annually Enterprise $29.75 per user per month, billed monthly 4 hours 200
Enterprise+ (requires 5+ licenses) Enterprise+ billed annually: $29.75 per user per month $39.75 per user per month, billed monthly 8 hours 300

Free needs no card and never expires, but the cap is tight. You get 5 meeting reports a month, and reports other people share with you count toward those five; each meeting can run up to 1 hour. From the sixth report on, a meeting is marked out of quota and has no transcript. Upgrading later reprocesses the past 30 days, so those reports unlock. Free still includes the REST API and the MCP server, both in open beta, and unlimited Ask Read questions. It lacks upload minutes, a Workspace, premium sources in Ask Read and the choice of OpenAI and Anthropic models there. Our guide to the Free plan covers those limits.

Pro removes the report cap and stretches each meeting to 4 hours. It adds the premium integrations (Notion, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Confluence[p1], Zapier and webhooks), custom vocabulary of up to 100 terms, the For You page and a Workspace. Pro has no playback. You get transcripts and reports, not recordings. Enterprise adds audio and video playback, highlight reels, .mp4 downloads and prioritized support. Enterprise+ layers on SAML SSO, SCIM, domain capture, a custom retention policy, EU or Canada hosting and onboarding with a specialist. HIPAA with a signed BAA and Workspace audit logs come only with Enterprise+ billed annually.

Licenses, Workspaces and the 5-license floor

A user and a license are the same thing. Every person invited into a Workspace needs a paid license, and every license in a Workspace sits on the same plan and billing cycle. You cannot put managers on Enterprise and everyone else on Pro. Free users cannot join a Workspace, and Read AI sells no admin-only seat. A license belongs to the seat, not the person, so it can be reassigned when someone leaves. The Workspace owner pays for every license on one bill.

Meeting guests cost nothing extra. Only one person in a meeting needs a Read account to create and share the report, and the report follows the plan of whoever invited Read. Enterprise+ requires 5+ licenses, and Read AI routes it through sales. By our arithmetic its minimum spend is $1,785 a year billed annually, or $2,385 a year billed monthly, for those 5 licenses. A team of three that wants single sign-on still pays for five.

What a year costs, and when annual billing pays off

Annual or monthly

By our arithmetic, one Pro user pays $180 a year billed annually against $237 billed monthly, a gap of $57. By our arithmetic, one Enterprise user pays $270 against $357, a gap of $87. By our arithmetic, Enterprise+ runs $357 against $477 per user. It still needs five licenses. Annual billing cannot be unwound, so the real question is how long you will keep the plan. On Pro and Enterprise, nine months billed monthly still costs less than a year billed annually; at ten months, annual wins. On Enterprise+, annual wins from nine months.

Teams and volume

By our arithmetic, five users on Pro pay $900 a year billed annually or $1,185 billed monthly, and five on Enterprise pay $1,350 or $1,785. Ten Pro users pay $1,800 or $2,370 a year by the same arithmetic. Moving from Pro to Enterprise adds $7.50 per user per month billed annually, or $90 a year, for playback, highlights, 100 more upload minutes and faster support. Volume discounts apply only to annual license counts, through sales: 10% at 100 licenses, 15% at 500 and 20% at 1,000.[2] Below 100 licenses there is no published volume discount (nonprofits seeking 10 or more licenses can ask sales).

⚠️
Watch out
One price, two different plans

Enterprise billed monthly and Enterprise+ billed annually (which requires 5+ licenses) both cost $29.75 per user per month. Check the plan name and billing term on the checkout page.

Upload minutes, the only add-on

Uploads cover meetings Read could not join, such as in-person sessions. One minute of audio or video uses one credit. Pro includes 100 minutes a month, Enterprise 200 and Enterprise+ 300; monthly minutes reset and never carry over. Free and trials include none. Extra minutes cost $20 per 500 minutes, or $0.04 a minute, and purchased minutes never expire.[3] A Pro user who needs 200 minutes a month is 100 short, and one pack covers that gap for five months. Buy packs for minutes. Upgrade for playback.

Toolkit tip
Buy minutes before upgrading

Extra upload minutes cost $20 per 500 minutes and never expire. If minutes are all you need, a pack beats moving from Pro to Enterprise.

Trial, EDU and Zoom: three ways to pay less

Every new account starts with a 7-day trial of Enterprise, with no card. It begins at sign-up, runs once per account and then drops to Free on its own; it never turns into a paid plan. Trials include no upload minutes. Once a calendar is connected, Read joins every meeting on it by default, trial included, and sends the recap to everyone with access, so set your preferences first with our guide to removing Read AI. Teams can also request a Workspace trial of up to 50 licenses.

💡
Toolkit tip
Count months before choosing annual

On Pro and Enterprise, monthly billing costs less if you keep the plan nine months or fewer. From ten months on, annual billing wins.

Students and staff with a .edu email can buy EDU for $60 a year or EDU + Video for $100 a year, billed annually only. EDU tracks Pro and EDU + Video tracks Enterprise, with 4-hour meetings and 100 or 200 upload minutes a month. By our arithmetic, EDU saves $120 a year against annual Pro, and EDU + Video saves $170 against annual Enterprise. There are no Workspaces and no premium integrations. Joining someone else's Workspace replaces EDU, with no refund for unused time.

Zoom One Pro, Business and Business Plus customers get Read through Zoom Essential Apps, a separate plan that is free for 12 months. It covers transcripts and summaries for the first 5 meetings a month, recordings up to 60 minutes and a Workspace of up to 10 users, with no playback. After 12 months the account falls back to Free unless someone upgrades. Nonprofits can ask sales for a discount only when they need 10 or more licenses.

Billing, renewal and cancellation rules

Paid plans renew automatically at the then-current price for the same term, and taxes are added at checkout. Read AI does not offer refunds, including when you cancel mid-period; access simply continues until the period ends.[4] Upgrades are charged at once with a prorated credit for time already paid. Downgrades, including a switch from annual to monthly billing, take effect at the end of the period with no credit. Adding a license is prorated, while removing one stops charges from the next cycle, and only unused licenses can be removed.

To cancel, the Workspace owner opens Plan & Billing and downgrades to Free; members cannot cancel. Past reports stay, but premium integrations stop, an owned Workspace is deactivated and Enterprise playback disappears from old reports. Cancelling does not stop Read joining your meetings. Only the auto-join settings, disconnecting your calendars and Zoom, or deleting the account do that, and other attendees can still bring their own Read. Taking a person out of a Workspace does not shrink the license count by itself, so free the license as well.

Which plan fits which buyer

Stay on Free if you hold a handful of meetings a month, each under an hour, and few people share reports with you. A solo consultant with steady calls should take Pro billed annually if the plan will run ten months or more; for a shorter project, monthly billing costs less. A team that needs to rewatch calls, clip highlights or download video needs Enterprise. Five or more people who need SSO, SCIM, domain capture or HIPAA belong on Enterprise+ billed annually. Students and university staff should start with EDU.

Rivals price the same job differently. Otter.ai Pro costs $8.33 per user per month billed annually or $16.99 billed monthly, and caps out at 5 billed users. Fireflies.ai Pro costs $10 per seat per month billed annually or $18 billed monthly. Billed annually, Read AI Pro costs $6.67 per user per month more than Otter Pro. Our Read AI vs Otter.ai comparison weighs what that difference buys.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay for Read AI with PayPal?+

No. Read AI accepts credit cards, Cash App, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link and Pix (Brazil only), and offers bank transfer for large group purchases through support.

Do meeting guests need a paid Read AI license?+

No. Only one person in the meeting needs a Read account to create and share the report. Recipients need a free account to view it unless the report is shared with anyone who has the link.

Does a price increase hit me mid-subscription?+

No. Under Read AI's Terms, a price change applies only after your current paid period ends, and renewal happens at the then-current price for the same term.

Can I move from EDU to a regular plan?+

Yes. EDU users can upgrade to another paid plan at any time and get a prorated credit for unused EDU time, but a paid-plan user cannot downgrade to EDU.

The bottom line

Read AI's pricing is simple on the card and stricter in the fine print. Pro at $15 per user per month billed annually covers most individual buyers, and Pro at $19.75 per user per month billed monthly wins only for nine months of use or fewer. Teams should decide on playback first, because that alone separates Pro from Enterprise. One Workspace means one plan for everyone, and Enterprise+ requires 5+ licenses. Read AI does not offer refunds. Pick the term first.
