Why people leave TidyCal, and how we picked

Most reasons to leave trace to gaps TidyCal admits itself. There is no native mobile app and no webhooks [1]. It signs no HIPAA BAA, it has no routing forms and no built-in Salesforce or HubSpot sync, and its round robin has no rotation. Lifetime terms also changed in 2026. For a sales team that needs leads routed to the right rep and synced to a CRM, the missing routing forms and webhooks are not small gaps but the whole job. That is why the alternatives below are sorted by what they add rather than by price.

We chose tools that cover at least one of those gaps. Prices come from each vendor's own pricing page wherever the text showed them. For Cal.com, SavvyCal and Zoho Bookings, the captured pages showed no prices, so there we quote TidyCal's own comparison pages and say so. Read every one of those figures as a competitor's claim, and confirm it on the rival's site before you decide anything.

Tool Free plan Entry paid price Best for
TidyCal yes Pro $99 a year solo hosts selling sessions
Calendly yes $10 a seat a month, billed annually teams that route leads
Acuity Scheduling no $16 a month, billed annually health and wellness
Setmore yes $5 a user a month, billed annually staff teams
YouCanBookMe yes $8.10 a month, billed yearly calendar-driven pages
Cal.com see vendor see vendor open source teams
SavvyCal see vendor see vendor one-to-one polish
Zoho Bookings see vendor see vendor Zoho users

Read the table as a list of trade-offs. The rivals that add webhooks, lead routing or a signed BAA all bill monthly or yearly, while TidyCal's lowest paid price is a single $29 payment with no renewal. Its Free plan already takes paid bookings, packages, subscriptions and coupons [2], the lifetime plans cost $29 or $79 once, Pro covers unlimited seats for $99 a year, and it imports from Calendly on every plan. Few switches save money. Most add cost.

Toolkit tip
Leave only for a real gap

Switch for something TidyCal cannot fix: HIPAA, webhooks, CRM routing or a mobile app. Otherwise most switches add cost.

Calendly: for teams that route leads

What it adds

Calendly fits teams that qualify and route leads. Its Teams plan adds round robin, routing and Salesforce sync, and forms can screen invitees and route them from Calendly, HubSpot, Pardot or Marketo forms [3]. Calendly also offers apps for iOS and Android to book meetings, get notifications and change availability, and its pricing page lists the mobile app and browser extension on every plan, Free included. TidyCal has neither. Phone-first hosts notice that daily. Paid plans automate reminders and follow-up outreach, and non-Enterprise plans include 250 SMS credits per seat each month, while TidyCal texts reach only US and Canadian numbers.

For AI, Calendly sells Notetaker, which records meetings and drafts recaps, and Callie, which schedules over email. Both need Standard Plus or Teams Plus and are available in English only. Calendly also runs an MCP server, while TidyCal's AI stays basic. Calendly Free connects one calendar and allows unlimited one-on-one meetings, but it has no automated reminders, no round robin and no payments. Every new Calendly account gets a 14-day trial. TidyCal offers none.

What it costs

Calendly Standard costs $12 a seat a month or $10 billed annually, Teams costs $20 or $16, and Enterprise starts at $15,000 a year with 50 seats [3]. Seats are needed only for people who host meetings, so invitees need nothing. A five-person sales team on Calendly Teams billed annually pays $960 a year by our arithmetic, against $99 a year for TidyCal Pro with unlimited seats. The routing, CRM sync and mobile apps cost that team about $861 a year more.

Where it falls short

Calendly's Customer Terms forbid protected health information, and it no longer accepts new iCloud calendar connections since August 20, 2024. Subscriptions are not listed on its pricing, per TidyCal, and per-seat pricing grows with every host. Switch if leads must be routed to the right rep, synced to Salesforce or HubSpot, or booked from a phone app; teams that need webhooks get them on Standard. Solo sellers of packs and subscriptions should stay, because Calendly costs them more. Our TidyCal vs Calendly comparison covers the pair in depth.

Acuity Scheduling: for health and wellness providers

What it adds

Acuity Scheduling suits clinics, therapists and wellness studios. An Acuity account can be made HIPAA-enabled on Premium [4], and the Business Associate Addendum covers Acuity, not other Squarespace features. TidyCal points therapists to Acuity Premium for exactly this reason. That is a clear handoff. Acuity also sells packages, memberships and gift certificates, runs an appointment waitlist, and lists payments via Stripe, Square, PayPal and Venmo. TidyCal offers no waitlist or gift certificates, although it does take Stripe and PayPal. Acuity sends automated text reminders on Standard and Premium with no additional fees, though not during free trials, and email reminders come on every plan. TidyCal's texts need Agency Lifetime or Pro.

What it costs

Acuity prices per account, not per user. Starter costs $20 a month or $16 billed annually, Standard $34 or $27, and Premium $61 or $49, with plan size set by calendars, meaning staff or locations. Trials last 7 days. A three-therapist practice on Standard billed annually pays $324 a year for up to six calendars, which is less than three Calendly Teams seats at $576 but more than TidyCal Pro at $99. For a practice that needs a signed BAA, Acuity Premium costs $49 a month billed annually, or $588 a year by our arithmetic.

Where it falls short

Acuity has no free plan for new accounts, and its Starter plan connects one calendar. There is no Acuity importer in TidyCal, and no TidyCal importer is documented on the Acuity pages we read. Moving means rebuilding. Plan a weekend. Switch if you handle health information and need a signed BAA, or if you need a waitlist, memberships or gift certificates. Stay on TidyCal if you only need paid one-to-one sessions, since Acuity costs at least $16 a month.

Setmore: for staff teams on a budget

Setmore suits salons, studios and staff teams who want apps and texts cheaply. Its Free plan covers up to 4 users, each with their own login, calendar and booking page, plus unlimited appointments, while TidyCal Free has no team seats. A small team can start free on Setmore. That is unusual. Setmore lists iOS and Android apps, and its pricing page lists SMS and email reminders, recurring appointments and Google Reviews on Pro. It never takes a cut of payments, and its integrations reach 40+ tools. Staff who manage bookings on the move gain most here.

Setmore Pro costs $5 a user a month billed annually or $12 billed monthly, and adds unlimited users, SMS reminders and two-way calendar sync. For a solo host the yearly math favors Setmore Pro at $60 over TidyCal Pro at $99. A second user already brings Setmore to $120 a year and past TidyCal, whose Pro price never rises with headcount, by our arithmetic. For teams, TidyCal wins.

Setmore also offers Setmore Health with a signed BAA on Pro, but it must be chosen when the account is created and cannot be reverted later. A small physiotherapy practice weighing it against Acuity Premium has to decide before any booking pages are built. Where Setmore falls short is selling: its pricing page lists no packages, subscriptions or digital products, which TidyCal sells on Free. Switch to Setmore if several staff need apps, texts and a free start, or if you want no payment cut. Stay on TidyCal if you sell packages, subscriptions or digital products.

YouCanBookMe: for calendar-driven booking pages

YouCanBookMe suits hosts who want deep booking-page control tied to their calendars. It says it is compliant with SOC 2 Type II with no control exceptions and also cites ISO/IEC 27001:2022, while TidyCal mentions no such certification. Buyers facing a security review gain here. Its pricing page lists webhooks and API access among its plan features, with webhooks arriving on Professional, and it connects HubSpot natively. TidyCal has neither webhooks nor a built-in HubSpot connection, so developers who want push events get them here.

Individual costs $9 a month or $8.10 billed yearly, Professional $13 or $11.70, and Team $18 per member or $16.20 billed yearly, with plans sized by calendar connections and booking pages. Two-year billing cuts more. A four-person team on YouCanBookMe Team billed yearly pays $777.60 a year by our arithmetic, almost eight times the $99 that TidyCal Pro costs, in exchange for webhooks, HubSpot sync, round robin and a SOC 2 Type II report. On the free tier, YouCanBookMe Free covers one calendar and one booking page, while TidyCal Free covers one calendar with unlimited booking types. Both take Stripe payments on Free, and TidyCal adds a 1% fee on Stripe.

YouCanBookMe is not HIPAA compliant by its own help center, has no native mobile app and sells no lifetime plan. Switch if you need webhooks, HubSpot sync or a SOC 2 report, or if booking-page control matters more than price. Stay on TidyCal for packages, subscriptions and a storefront, which YouCanBookMe sells none of natively.

Cal.com: for teams that want open source

Cal.com appeals to teams that want depth and control. TidyCal's own comparison says Cal.com has a mobile app and a self-hosted community edition for personal, non-production use, or on-premises enterprise, while TidyCal is hosted only and not open source. That candor suggests the two aim at different buyers. The same page says Cal.com Teams costs $12 per user a month billed yearly and Organizations $28, as of September 2026, and that Cal.com has no lifetime plan. It describes Cal.com Free as covering 1 user with unlimited event types and calendars. Cal.com's pricing page did not show prices in the text we captured.

All of these claims come from a competitor, so verify them before deciding, and test the app yourself. TidyCal has no Cal.com importer, and teams that want SSO or sub-teams find neither on TidyCal. Consider Cal.com if you want a mobile app or a self-hostable community edition for personal use, or if SSO and sub-teams matter. Stay on TidyCal if a one-time price matters more.

SavvyCal: for polished one-to-one scheduling

SavvyCal focuses on the invitee's experience. TidyCal says it offers invitee calendar overlays, ranked availability, time blocking and delegated assistant access, none of which TidyCal has. Overlays let a booker see their own calendar over the host's open times, and ranked availability lets a host mark preferred times. Overlays matter most when the person booking is as busy as the host, because seeing both calendars at once removes the back-and-forth of proposing times. TidyCal's mutual availability, shown only to signed-in bookers, is a narrower substitute. Sales calls benefit. So do executives.

TidyCal also says SavvyCal has no free plan, that paid bookings need its Premium plan, checked September 30, 2026, and that it offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Its comparison prices SavvyCal per user, so teams should multiply, and there is no SavvyCal importer. Verify all of it on SavvyCal's site. Consider SavvyCal if invitee experience and preferred times matter more than price; stay on TidyCal if you sell packs, subscriptions or digital products on a budget.

Zoho Bookings: for Zoho users and room booking

Zoho Bookings suits businesses already on Zoho. TidyCal says it offers resource booking, workspaces and Zoho CRM integration, which TidyCal does not. TidyCal books people, not rooms, and has no resource or inventory management for room rentals beyond group bookings and ignoring calendar conflicts. Studios renting space should check room booking first. TidyCal's page also says Zoho Bookings puts online payments on Premium and is priced per user, and there is no Zoho Bookings importer. Consider Zoho if your team already runs Zoho CRM or needs rooms and workspaces. Per-user pricing grows with the team, while TidyCal Pro does not, so compare at your headcount.

Matching the alternative to the gap

Most people leave TidyCal for one specific reason rather than a general wish for more. Start from that hard requirement, because it usually narrows the field to one or two names. This is where each gap leads:

Without webhooks, a developer who wants new TidyCal bookings in a CRM within a minute must poll the API every minute. That uses 1,440 requests a day before any booking details are fetched, while Calendly, Acuity and YouCanBookMe can push each booking as it happens. For a therapy practice, the shortlist is effectively two names long.

Price rivals at your headcount

Calendly, Setmore and YouCanBookMe charge per seat or per user, so price them for your real team size before comparing them to $99 a year.

What each option costs at one seat and at five

For one person, TidyCal Free costs nothing and Individual Lifetime costs $29 once. Setmore Pro costs $60 a year billed annually, YouCanBookMe Individual costs $97.20 a year billed yearly, and Calendly Standard costs $120 a year. For five people, TidyCal Pro costs $99 a year, Setmore Pro $300, Calendly Teams $960 and YouCanBookMe Team $972, all billed annually. TidyCal leads.

Team of five, billed annually One year Three years
TidyCal Pro $99 $297
Setmore Pro $300 $900
Calendly Teams $960 $2,880
YouCanBookMe Team $972 $2,916

All of these totals come from our own arithmetic on each vendor's prices. Over three years only Setmore stays within reach of TidyCal. What the extra money buys on Calendly and YouCanBookMe is routing, CRM sync, webhooks and a security report, not more bookings.

Leaving TidyCal cleanly, or staying

CSV export of bookings and contacts is available on paid plans, with a column per question for intake answers, and the API can read bookings, contacts and booking types. Free accounts cannot export. A host leaving from the Free plan may need to buy Individual Lifetime for $29 just to take bookings and contacts along, which is still cheaper than re-entering a year of client contacts by hand. Before leaving, write down each booking type's duration, price, questions, buffers and limits. TidyCal's own switching guides note that moves without an importer take about 15 minutes per tool, from TidyCal's side. Expect longer the other way, and remember to reconnect calendars and payments.

Staying is often the smarter move. Stay if you sell paid sessions, packs or subscriptions as a solo host or small team, if a one-time price or $99 a year matters most, and if you do not need webhooks, an app or a BAA. Then switching only adds cost. If you are unsure what TidyCal's plans already cover, our TidyCal pricing guide lays them out.

Our verdict on TidyCal alternatives

No rival here matches TidyCal's entry price. Calendly wins on depth, routing and apps, Acuity on health compliance, Setmore on staff apps and a free team plan, and YouCanBookMe on webhooks and security reports. Choose by gap. Put simply, a solo host who leaves TidyCal will usually pay more for what they gain, so a switch makes sense only when the gain is a hard requirement, such as a signed BAA, lead routing, webhooks or a phone app the business uses daily.
