Revenue teams weighing Avoma usually land in one of two camps. If a CRO needs enterprise forecasting or one platform across sales engagement, Gong, Chorus and Clari are the serious alternatives, none publishes a price, and Gong's own pages list ISO 27001 among its certifications. If the job is notes, transcripts and CRM updates, Fireflies, Otter, Fathom, Read AI, Granola and Krisp sell cheaper entry seats. The deciding number is how many people only watch. Avoma bills recorder seats alone: Startup costs $19 per recorder seat per month billed annually, or $29 per recorder seat per month billed monthly, and viewers, listeners and collaborators are free [1]. Most lighter tools bill every member. That gap decides most cases.

Gong, Chorus and Clari: quote only

Gong, when the buyer sits in the CRO's chair

Gong's case is scale, not price. Gong publishes no prices; its pricing page says licenses are priced per user plus a platform fee based on the number of users, quoted through a custom proposal [2]. What it does show is breadth: Forecast tiers with deal boards, an AI Deal Reviewer, win-loss insights and an AI Revenue Predictor, Engage with a dialer that records and logs calls, and custom agents written in plain English. Security is the second draw. Gong says it holds ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, ISO 27701 and SOC 2 Type II, runs its AI models in-house without public large language models, and supports customer-managed encryption keys.

Avoma says it holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 42001, but its trust center lists no ISO 27001, and its subprocessors include OpenAI and Anthropic. A procurement team with a hard ISO 27001 requirement has its answer. Avoma's Gong comparison page, read in November 2026, claims Gong offers no monthly billing and no built-in scheduler or lead router, and opens calls to the whole organization by default. Avoma's October 2026 pricing post adds that Gong runs sales-managed pilots, while Gong's own page invites buyers to discuss trial options. Weigh those as a rival's pitch.

For a sense of scale on Avoma's side: by our arithmetic, ten Organization recorder seats billed annually, with the Conversation Intelligence add-on on five of them, cost $5,220 a year. Teams moving the other way get help. For eligible migrations, Avoma brings over the previous 12 months of Gong recordings and transcripts at no additional cost; notes and scorecards stay behind, and longer history may cost extra [3]. Its comparison pages also advertise two free months with that migration, without published conditions. Our Avoma vs Gong comparison goes deeper.

Toolkit tip
Count viewers before comparing seats

List everyone who only reads notes or watches clips. On Avoma they cost nothing; on Fireflies, Read AI, Granola and Krisp each one is a paid seat.

Chorus, Clari and Jiminny: other quote-only platforms

Chorus now lives inside ZoomInfo and is sold through a demo request, with no price on its product page [4]. ZoomInfo describes it as capturing calls, meetings and emails, explaining why deals are won or lost, and forecasting. Avoma's own comparison post says Chorus suits companies already invested in ZoomInfo, and its Chorus page claims Chorus has no built-in scheduling or routing. If your prospect data already runs through ZoomInfo, one vendor is a fair reason to stay there.

Clari is harder to evaluate alone. Its pricing address serves a Salesloft talk-to-sales page with no public prices, Clari Forecast and Conversations logins sit under Salesloft, and that platform's conversation intelligence surfaces battlecards live on calls. In an August 2026 post, Avoma concedes it is not built for the largest, most complex enterprise forecasting hierarchies, pointing those toward Clari and Salesforce. That admission matters. If Salesloft already records and analyzes your calls, compare the two side by side before adding a second tool.

Jiminny comes closest to Avoma's viewer logic. It quotes bespoke prices by seat type, with Recording seats for reps, Insights seats for managers and Listener seats for people who read transcripts and summaries. It asks for a 12-month minimum contract plus a one-time setup fee, charges no platform fee, and offers a 14-day trial with no card. Avoma's trial also runs 14 days without a card, on Organization with every add-on switched on.

Fireflies and Otter: lower seat prices, free plans, everyone counted

About these prices

Prices shown are what Avoma lists for visitors in the United States, in US dollars. Your price can differ by country, currency and local taxes such as VAT.

Fireflies Pro costs $10 per seat per month billed annually or $18 billed monthly. Fireflies Business costs $19 per seat per month billed annually or $29 billed monthly, and Enterprise $39 per seat per month, billed annually only. Fireflies keeps a free plan. Avoma does not. After the 14-day trial an Avoma account becomes a viewer that keeps past recordings but cannot record, as our free-plan explainer details. The catch is who counts: Fireflies charges for every teammate added, so managers and customer success add cost. On annual billing, a Startup recorder seat runs $228 a year against $120 for a Fireflies Pro seat, by our arithmetic.

Otter Pro costs $8.33 per user per month billed annually or $16.99 billed monthly, capped at five billed users. Otter Business costs $19.99 per user per month billed annually or $30 billed monthly at list price, for up to 25 users. Billed annually, an Avoma Startup recorder seat at $19 a month and an Otter Business seat at $19.99 a month sit within a dollar. Otter's Business trial lasts seven days, needs a card and converts unless canceled. Otter keeps SSO and SCIM on Enterprise with a 100-user minimum. Avoma keeps them on Enterprise too, billed annually only with at least 10 recorder seats.

⚠️
Watch out
Monthly billing stops paying off

On Avoma, monthly billing is cheaper than annual only if you stop within 7 months on Startup or 8 months on Organization, by our arithmetic.

Fathom, Read AI, Granola and Krisp: when notes are the whole job

Fathom

Fathom's free plan records unlimited meetings, though advanced summaries cover only the first five calls a month. Premium costs $16 per user per month billed annually or $20 billed monthly, for one person. Team costs $15 per user per month billed annually or $19 billed monthly, and Business $25 or $34 on the same terms, each with a two-user minimum. Recordings can be shared with people who have no Fathom account. For regulated teams on a budget, Fathom's pricing lists a standard BAA on Team and Business. Avoma says it supports HIPAA only on Enterprise.

Read AI

Read AI Pro costs $15 per user per month billed annually or $19.75 billed monthly. Enterprise costs $22.50 per user per month billed annually or $29.75 billed monthly; Enterprise+ costs $29.75 per user per month billed annually or $39.75 billed monthly, with a five-license minimum. The free plan stops at five meeting reports a month and meetings up to an hour. Every Workspace member needs a license. That rule is what hurts a viewer-heavy team.

Granola and Krisp

Granola has no meeting bot and stores no audio, so a manager has no recording to replay. Granola Business costs $14 per user per month, billed monthly only, and every active member is a paid seat. On monthly billing, a Startup recorder seat runs $348 a year against $168 for Granola Business, by our arithmetic. Krisp pairs a bot-free note taker with its noise cancellation app. It has no free Meeting AI plan, only a 7-day trial. Krisp Core costs $8 per user per month billed annually or $16 billed monthly, and every teammate is a seat.

Toolkit tip
Trial the add-ons, not just notes

Avoma's 14-day trial runs Organization with every add-on and needs no card, so test scorecards and forecasting before deciding a lighter note taker is enough. Avoma's pricing FAQ says you can email help@avoma.com to ask for a longer trial.

Picture five reps who record and twenty managers, CSMs and executives who read notes. By our arithmetic, those five recorder seats on annual billing cost $1,140 a year on Startup or $1,740 a year on Organization, and the twenty viewers add nothing. Organization is the plan to price if you need the API, webhooks or translation. Unlimited 1:1 scheduling links are on every paid plan, and group, round-robin and embedded scheduling are included from Organization, or come on Startup with the Lead Router add-on. That add-on costs $19 per seat per month billed annually or $25 billed monthly. Every recorder must sit on one plan, as our pricing breakdown explains.

Seat all 25 people on Fireflies Pro and, by our arithmetic, the bill is $3,000 a year billed annually, against $1,140 a year for five Avoma Startup recorder seats billed annually. By our arithmetic, Krisp Core for the same 25 comes to $2,400 a year billed annually, and Read AI Pro to $4,500. With five recorders, the lighter tools stay cheaper only up to six people in total on Read AI Pro, nine on Fireflies Pro and eleven on Krisp Core. Flip the shape. A five-person team where everyone records pays $480 a year on Krisp Core billed annually, by our arithmetic, against $1,140 a year for five Avoma Startup recorder seats billed annually.

Coaching changes the math again. Scorecards, AI coaching and Global Ask Avoma need the Conversation Intelligence add-on, and forecasting, deal risk and two-way CRM field updates need Revenue Intelligence; each costs $29 per seat per month billed annually or $35 billed monthly, assigned only to people who use it. Review volume will not settle this choice either. Of Avoma's own review profiles, only G2 carries enough reviews to read as a signal.

Frequently asked questions

Can different Avoma reps sit on different plans?+

No. Every recording user must be on the same plan (Startup, Organization or Enterprise); only add-ons are assigned to individual users.

Does Avoma record without a bot?+

Only where the platform allows it: on Zoom when your company hosts, or through Zoom Cloud on a paid Zoom license; Microsoft Teams cloud recording (a Microsoft cloud-recording license and tenant admin approval); Google Meet native recording; Webex cloud recording as host on a paid Webex license; the desktop app's Local Recording; and in-person recording on mobile. Otherwise the Avoma bot joins. Since October 2026 Avoma records Zoom meetings only when Zoom is connected to Avoma (a calendar connection alone is not enough); when another company hosts, the bot joins only if someone from your organization with Zoom connected is in the meeting.

What happens if we cut Avoma seats mid-contract?+

Seat removals and downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle, and Avoma typically gives no credits or refunds for unused licenses mid-subscription.

Which Avoma plan do you need for API access?+

Organization or Enterprise: API access, webhooks and the MCP connector start on Organization. Zapier works on every paid plan.

The bottom line

Stay with Avoma when a handful of reps record and a crowd of managers and leaders only read and watch, because those viewers cost nothing and the intelligence add-ons sit only on the seats that need them. Look at Gong, Chorus or Clari when the CRO wants one enterprise platform or deep forecasting hierarchies and accepts a quote-only process; Gong's own pages list ISO 27001. Pick Fireflies, Otter, Fathom, Read AI, Granola or Krisp when nearly everyone records and nobody needs scorecards or deal risk. Count your viewers first.
