Fathom charges per user per month, and the right plan depends mostly on headcount. Free costs $0 and has no time limit. Premium, the plan for individuals, costs $16 per user per month billed annually or $20 per user per month billed monthly. Team costs $15 per user per month billed annually or $19 per user per month billed monthly, with a minimum of 2 users. Business costs $25 per user per month billed annually or $34 per user per month billed monthly, also with a 2-user minimum. Enterprise is listed at $35 per user per month, billed annually only, and is sold through Fathom's sales team.[1] One person should buy Premium; two or more should start at Team.

Every plan, Free included, records, transcribes and stores calls without a cap, and downloads and clips are unlimited too. What Free rations is the AI layer. Advanced AI summaries cover your first 5 calls each month; after that, calls still get summarized with the General/Enhanced template. Ask Fathom works on Free in limited form, with no published quota. AI action items, AI follow-up emails, a custom bot name and hiding the in-meeting banner all start at Premium. Our guide to what Fathom's free plan covers walks through those limits. Prices are in US dollars, and taxes come on top.

Watch out
Guarantee versus Terms

Fathom advertises a 90-day money-back guarantee on paid plans without publishing its conditions, while its Terms of Service say fees are non-refundable.

Why Team undercuts Premium, and the seat rule behind it

Fathom's price ladder is not in order. Team costs $1 less per user per month than Premium on either billing term, yet it sits above Premium in features. The reason is the seat rule. Team needs at least 2 users, and so does Business. A solo buyer who picks Team pays for two seats, including one nobody will ever log into, and gains features built for people who share calls.

Run the numbers for one person. Premium comes to $192 per user a year billed annually or $240 per user a year billed monthly, by our arithmetic. The same person on Team pays for 2 seats at $15 per user per month billed annually, which comes to $360 a year, or at $19 per user per month billed monthly, which comes to $456 a year. That is close to double. For a single user, Premium is the cheapest paid plan by a wide margin, and most of what Team adds (folders, comments, team playlists) is built for people who share calls.

At two users the order flips. By our arithmetic, two separate Premium subscriptions at $16 per user per month billed annually cost $384 a year, and $480 a year at $20 per user per month billed monthly, while a two-person Team plan costs $360 and $456 a year on those same terms. Team wins on both billing terms from the second seat, and it adds the shared workspace. Two people means Team. Team and Business are both priced per user with a 2-user minimum. Seat counts and plan changes need Account Admin access.

Count heads before choosing

One person should buy Premium, since Team bills at least 2 users. From two people, Team costs less per user than Premium on either billing term.

What each step up the ladder adds

Premium over Free

Premium lifts the Free limits for one person: advanced summaries on every call, AI action items, AI follow-up email drafts, fuller Ask Fathom, including the account-wide version across your own calls (in beta), a custom bot name and the option to remove the recording banner. By our arithmetic, that costs $192 per user a year billed annually. Nothing in it is shared, so a second colleague would need a separate subscription.

Team over Premium

Team turns individual recordings into a shared library. It adds team folders, comments and mentions, team playlists, team search, Trackers that tag calls by meaning, Customer view, AI Search, Meeting Types and a custom transcription dictionary. Zapier and Make (the automation platform) move from limited to full use. On health data, Fathom's pricing lists a standard BAA on Team and Business and eligibility for a custom BAA on Enterprise. One limit stays: CRM sync with HubSpot, Salesforce or Close is still capped at 3 users per email domain.

Business over Team

Business is the sales and coaching tier. It removes the CRM cap and adds CRM field sync, Deal view, coaching metrics and AI Scorecards. By our arithmetic, the step costs $10 more per user per month billed annually, which is $120 more per user a year billed annually. On monthly billing, Business at $34 per user per month is $15 more per user per month than Team at $19 per user per month, both with a 2-user minimum, which by our arithmetic is $180 more per user a year billed monthly.

For a 10-person team, by our arithmetic, that means $1,800 a year on Team at $15 per user per month against $3,000 a year on Business at $25 per user per month, both billed annually. Launch Assist, which Fathom describes as hands-on implementation help, is a paid add-on on Business with no published price.

Enterprise over Business

Enterprise adds $10 per user per month on annual billing, which is $120 more per user a year billed annually, by our arithmetic. It buys SSO (SAML, for example Okta or Microsoft Entra ID), SCIM provisioning, custom data retention, custom BAA eligibility, custom-built summaries, Launch Assist included, priority support SLAs and a dedicated Success Manager. Admin controls such as access to any meeting and blocking downloads or deletion are Enterprise only.

How the rates sit next to rival note-takers

Fathom Team at $15 per user per month billed annually matches Read AI Pro at $15 per user per month billed annually, although Read AI adds audio and video playback only from its Enterprise plan. Fireflies Pro costs $10 per seat per month billed annually or $18 per seat per month billed monthly, with 8,000 minutes of storage per seat. Otter Pro costs $8.33 per user per month billed annually or $16.99 per user per month billed monthly, for up to 5 billed users, with 1,200 transcription minutes per user a month. Fathom records and stores calls without a cap on every plan.

Granola sells Business at $14 per user per month, billed monthly only. Against Fathom Team at $19 per user per month billed monthly, that gap is $5 per user per month billed monthly, or $60 per user a year billed monthly, by our arithmetic. Granola keeps no audio for playback, though, which our Fathom vs Granola comparison weighs in full.

What the annual toggle really saves

The pricing page labels annual billing as saving 25% or more. That holds for one plan only. By our arithmetic, billing annually instead of monthly saves $48 per user a year on Premium, which is 20%. On Team, billing annually saves $48 per user a year, about 21%. On Business, billing annually saves $108 per user a year, about 26.5%. Only Business clears 25%. Enterprise has no monthly option at all, so there is nothing to compare.

Annual billing pays off only if you keep the plan long enough. Nine months of Premium billed monthly comes to $180 per user, still under the $192 per user a year billed annually, by our arithmetic. Ten months would cost more. The same nine-month threshold holds on Team. On Business, monthly billing stays cheaper only if you would cancel within 8 months. Unsure buyers should start monthly and switch once the habit sticks.

💡
Toolkit tip
Start monthly if unsure

By our arithmetic, monthly billing stays cheaper if you would cancel within 9 months on Premium or Team, or within 8 months on Business.

Free seats, startup deals and switching offers

Fathom runs three programs that cut the bill to zero for a while. Nonprofits can apply for 10 free seats; the pricing page does not name the plan those seats sit on. Startups backed by select VCs and accelerators can join the Qualified Portfolio Program, which gives up to 2 years of Fathom Team free. The program page describes special pricing on Team and Business, lists 77 partners including Y Combinator, a16z speedrun, Susa Ventures and TinySeed, and lets companies backed by unlisted VCs apply.

The third offer targets buyers locked into another contract. Teams switching from Gong or a similar tool can get Fathom Business free until that contract ends, plus data migration. Fathom's own comparison pages extend similar offers, as of November 2026, to teams leaving Fireflies or Granola. Ask sales to confirm the terms in writing before you plan a budget around them.

Trials, renewals and what cancelling does

New accounts get a free Premium preview for 30 days after sign-up, then drop to Free.[2] A referral stretches that preview to 60 days and gives the referrer 30 extra days of Premium, for individual users only. Teams of two or more can start a free Team trial instead. Fathom does not publish the Team trial length or whether either trial needs a card. When a Team trial ends without a purchase, the team account goes inactive and Team Calls are disabled for everyone until someone checks out.

Fathom advertises a 90-day money-back guarantee on paid plans but does not publish its conditions; its Terms of Service say fees are non-refundable.[3] Confirm the guarantee with support before you pay for a year. Subscriptions renew automatically on the term you chose, and you can cancel before renewal without penalty. Fathom can change fees with notice before the next billing cycle.

Cancelling works differently by plan. Premium ends at the close of the billing period with no further charges; immediate cancellation needs an email to support.[4] Team cancellation is not self-serve and goes through success@fathom.video. Note the trap here. An individual account falls back to Free after cancellation, and Free still records. Turn off auto-record if you want the bot to stop joining calls.

⚠️
Watch out
Cancelling does not stop recording

A cancelled individual account falls back to Free, which still records calls. Turn off auto-record if you want the bot to stop joining.

The bottom line

Fathom's pricing is simple once the seat rule is clear. A solo user pays $16 per user per month billed annually for Premium, the cheapest paid plan for one person, and should skip Team. Two or more people should start on Team at $15 per user per month billed annually, with its 2-user minimum, then move to Business only for CRM field sync, Deal view and coaching. Enterprise suits buyers who need SSO and retention control. Read the guarantee and the Terms side by side, and see our full Fathom review for the product beyond the price.
