Visme is a browser-based editor for business visuals: presentations, infographics, reports, documents, charts, forms and interactive pages, all built in one place. It does that broad job well, and it is unusually good at two narrow ones, data visualization and training content that has to land in a learning management system. The weak side is not the editor. It is the path from a finished design to a file you can use, and the path out of a subscription.

Our composite score for Visme is 3.57, third in our design category behind Canva (4.14) and Figma (3.95). Every figure below comes from Visme's own pages and help center, read for the United States on 9 October 2026, from the app stores and Trustpilot, or from our arithmetic on them, labelled as ours.

What Visme is

Visme describes itself as a platform teams use to create, manage and scale presentations, infographics, documents, videos, forms and other branded content [3]. In practice it is one drag-and-drop editor with templates for each of those formats, a stock library, an AI toolbox and a publishing layer that turns any project into a shareable link, an embed or a download.

It runs in the browser, as a desktop app for Mac and Windows, and as mobile apps [12].

Test the export format you need before you pay.

## Who makes it

Visme is the trading name of Easy WebContent, LLC, based in Maryland [5]. Payman Taei founded it in 2013 after a decade running a web design agency, and he is still CEO [6]. Visme says paid plans launched in 2014 and the company was profitable nine months later, with no outside funding until Gearbox Capital invested in 2025 [6].

Visme describes itself as a distributed team working across more than 190 countries [6].

That investment was announced on 3 June 2025 as a growth investment to accelerate product development and enterprise adoption [7]. Expect the enterprise push to continue.

Who it is for

Visme fits people who have to explain things with visuals and are not designers: marketers building reports and one-pagers, sales teams sending decks, HR and learning teams producing onboarding and training, teachers, and nonprofits. Its own FAQ calls the learning curve low to medium [3].

It fits less well a professional designer, a video editor, or anyone who needs a free tool that downloads. For quick social posts on a free plan, Canva, which we score separately, is the simpler choice [112].

💡
Toolkit tip

Buy annually only if you will stay five months or more.

## The plans in one paragraph

Basic is free. Starter costs US$29 per person per month, or US$147 a year. Pro costs US$59 per person per month, or US$297 a year. Enterprise is quoted and starts at 10 users [2]. Students pay US$48 a year and educators US$96 a year [2]. Nonprofit and government pricing is quoted [65].

The price the page shows first

The pricing cards open on annual billing, so the first numbers a visitor sees are US$12.25 and US$24.75 per person per month [2]. Those are monthly equivalents of a bill paid once a year. The month-to-month prices, US$29 and US$59, appear only after switching the toggle and in the page's structured data [2].

By our arithmetic, a year of month-to-month Starter costs US$348 and a year of Pro costs US$708.

💡
Toolkit tip

Download everything before your renewal date if you plan to leave.

## What the free plan does and does not do

Basic has no time limit and needs no card. It gives unlimited projects, 500 MB of storage, up to 50 slides or pages per project, a limited template set and 10 AI credits a month [2].

It does not download. JPG, PNG and PDF downloads start on Starter [2]. The help center says download options, premium assets and advanced sharing features are on paid plans [69]. You can publish a free project as a link, with Visme branding on it.

Why that matters more than it sounds

Fourteen of the 40 one-to-three-star reviews in our 100-review Trustpilot sample describe the same moment: someone found a template through search, spent an hour or two editing it, and met the paywall at download [109]. One reviewer wrote that they had to pay $48 for a yearly subscription to download an infographic [109].

The product is not hiding this. The pricing table lists download formats by plan. But the order of discovery punishes casual users.

⚠️
Watch out

The free plan cannot download.

## The editor

The editor is a canvas with layers, grouping, alignment guides and snapping, and a left-hand library of templates, photos, icons, illustrations, 3D characters, charts and widgets. Long-time reviewers praise the alignment tools and the ability to mix slides from different templates [109].

Visme recommends Chrome or its desktop app to avoid any unintended saving or rendering experiences [77]. That advice is worth taking.

Formats

One account covers presentations, infographics, documents and reports, printables, social graphics, video, whiteboards, forms and microsites [6]. The microsite builder launched on 21 April 2026 and publishes responsive web pages with public or private access [10].

Visme Forms launched in May 2024, with templates, responsive layouts and integrations into marketing tools [11].

⚠️
Watch out

Payments are not refunded.

## The asset library

Paid plans unlock the full library: the pricing table lists a photo library of more than 5 million images and more than 2 million video and audio assets, with animated illustrations, animated icons and 3D characters [2]. Basic gets a limited share of each [2].

For training and nonprofit teams without a stock budget, that library is a large part of the value.

Data visualization is the strongest part

Charts, graphs, maps, tables and data widgets sit in the same editor, including animated and 3D widgets. Charts and tables can link to a Google Sheet and update when the sheet changes; the published page has to be refreshed to show it [3]. Power BI and Tableau dashboards can be embedded by URL or iFrame [3].

Visme's pages cannot agree on the chart count. A comparison post says 16+ chart types; the training page says more than 50 charts, graphs, data widgets and maps; the FAQ says over 60 chart and data widget types [3]. Count less, test more.

⚠️
Watch out

Cancelling is complete only after you click a link in an email.

## Interactivity

Projects can carry hotspots, pop-ups, hover effects, links between slides, embedded video and audio, and animation on any object [52]. Presenter Studio records you alongside your slides [3].

Interactive output only works where it is viewed online or as an HTML5 download. HTML5 export keeps animations and interactions and opens offline in a browser [69]. PowerPoint export is editable but drops animations [3].

Recording and presenting

Presenter Studio records up to 3 minutes on Basic and up to 45 minutes on paid plans [113]. Exported MP4 video runs up to 10 minutes [24], and video export needs a canvas of 1366×1366 pixels or smaller [3].

Those limits suit short explainers and course segments, not long webinars.

Training and e-learning

Visme exports to SCORM 2004 4th Edition and to xAPI, so a course built in Visme can sit in a learning management system [24]. That export is an Enterprise feature [3].

The limits are stated plainly: "Visme does not have testing capabilities to grade the score of a learners test within the SCORM file" [24]. Quizzes and graded assessments have to live in the LMS.

AI features

The AI toolbox covers a full design from a prompt (AI Designer), Edit with AI, an AI Writer, an image generator, text-to-speech with six voices, background removal, upscaling, object removal and AI Resize [28]. AI Designer builds presentations, documents and printables of up to 10 pages [70].

Inputs to the AI products are shared with third-party providers such as fal.ai and OpenAI, under the Terms of Service [4].

AI credits

Every AI action spends credits from one monthly allowance: 10 on Basic, 200 on Starter, 500 on Pro and unlimited on Enterprise [70]. An AI Designer generation costs 2 credits; the writer, resize, image generation and image filters cost 1 each [2].

On Pro that is up to 250 AI Designer drafts a month, by our arithmetic. On Basic it is five.

Curious how Visme feels in practice?Try Visme →

What reviewers say about the AI

Reviews are mixed. Some praise the AI file generation and AI voices [109]. Three of the 40 negative reviews in our sample say the AI fell short of the marketing; one called it a tool that distributes key words from the prompt across a template [109]. Treat AI Designer as a first draft, which is how Visme's own launch announcement framed it [8].

Brand control

Pro adds the Brand Kit: logos, colors, fonts and guidelines stored once and applied across projects, set up with the AI-assisted Brand Wizard [81]. Enterprise adds branded templates with locked objects, custom roles, project approvals and an audit log [3].

Only Enterprise workspace admins can manage or disable AI features for their teams [3].

Collaboration and workspaces

A workspace holds a team's projects, files and brand. Admins see every project; members see what is shared with them, and uploaded assets are shared across the workspace [72]. A free workspace can have up to 10 active users [73].

On a paid workspace every active user needs a paid seat, and upgrading means paying for all current active users or removing some first [73].

Forms in practice

Visme Forms take 1,000 responses a month on Starter and 5,000 on Pro [2], and connect to one, three or ten other tools on Basic, Starter and Pro . The person who submits a form currently gets no email, only an on-screen confirmation [94].

Analytics

Published projects record views, unique visits, time spent and completion, with visitor IP and location [75]. Deeper Analytics, which adds per-viewer and per-slide time through a registration form, requires an Enterprise plan [76].

For sales and training teams, that viewer data is the feature they are paying for.

Publishing

A published project is public by default, and Google can eventually index it; it can be set to private or protected by a password [114]. The link stays the same after every edit, so viewers always see the latest version [114].

Integrations

Visme connects to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and Widen for assets; YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, Loom and Vidyard for video; Typeform, JotForm and SurveyMonkey for embedded forms; and Zapier for the rest [27]. Visme Forms sync to HubSpot, Google Sheets, Mailchimp, Klaviyo and ActiveCampaign [3].

We found no public API. Salesforce and HubSpot deal data are Enterprise-only [3], and the integrations page still describes HubSpot as an upcoming integration [27].

Accessibility

Visme now offers alternative text, an accessibility checker, captions, reading order and a visual simulator [26]. An older FAQ on the SCORM page still says Visme does not support alt-tags and is not 508 compliant [24]. Test the export your auditors will check, not the marketing page.

Security and compliance

Visme encrypts data in transit for everyone and offers AES-256 at rest on Enterprise plans, with SSO and two-factor authentication on Enterprise [13]. It claims 99.98% uptime [13].

It is not for health data. Visme's healthcare page says: "Visme is not a HIPAA-compliant platform" [23]. We found no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 claim on the pages we read.

Upload limits

Paid plans accept images, SVGs and PDFs up to 25 MB, video up to 100 MB and PowerPoint files up to 50 MB; Basic cannot upload video at all [113]. Uploads are limited to 10 files per minute [113].

Mobile and desktop

Desktop apps for Mac and Windows promise better performance and offline creation [12]. The iOS app holds 4.6 stars from 1,085 ratings [110] and the Android app 4.3 from 3,681 [111].

The download page still says Android is coming soon [12], though Visme announced its Android app on 19 October 2023 [9].

In-app prices differ

Buying inside the iOS app costs a little more. The App Store lists Starter at $29.99 and $149.99, Pro at $59.99 and $299.99, and a Mobile/Tablet Pro plan at $14.99 and $94.99 that the website does not offer [110].

Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play can only be canceled there [67].

Support

Help comes by live chat and email, with an AI agent answering first and a human stepping in when needed [3]. Visme aims to respond to urgent matters within two hours, Monday to Friday [3]. Enterprise customers get a dedicated customer success manager [3].

Support is the most praised thing in our sample: 21 of the 60 four- and five-star reviews name it [109].

Billing: the weak side

Seventeen of the 40 negative reviews in our sample concern renewals, cancellation or refused refunds [109]. The terms back the hard line. Visme will not under any circumstances issue a refund for early termination once a card or PayPal account is charged or auto-renewed [4].

Three reviewers did get full or partial refunds after asking [109]. That is discretion, not policy.

Canceling takes an email

Canceling is done on desktop, from Workspace Settings, followed by a questionnaire. Then Visme emails a confirmation link: "Your subscription isn’t cancelled until you click the confirmation link in the email." [66]. Several reviewers in our sample call the flow a dark pattern [109].

The Cancel Subscription button appears only when the plan is set to auto-renew [66].

What happens after you cancel

Access continues to the end of the paid period, then the account becomes Basic [66]. You can still open what you made, but you cannot download it, and Visme branding appears on published material [2]. Links and embeds tied to a canceled workspace may stop working [3].

Download what you need before the renewal date, not after.

What Visme says about itself, twice

Visme's own pages disagree often enough to matter. The FAQ says "All paid plans are billed annually."; the help center and the pricing page offer monthly billing [3] [66]. The FAQ says annual billing saves up to 50%; on the published prices it saves 58% [3].

The user count appears as 34.3 million and 38 million on different pages [6].

The nonprofit discount, three ways

The pricing page's structured data promises registered nonprofits a 25% discount on the business plan after verification [2]. The help center describes Pro features at a discounted rate based on the number of users [65]. The pricing FAQ says to email support [2].

Ask for the discount in writing before you buy.

How we score it

Axis Score Why
Capability & depth 4.1 Many formats, strong charts, interactivity, SCORM and xAPI
Ease of use 3.8 Built for non-designers; some bugs and timing complaints
AI 3.2 Broad toolbox, small credit allowances
Value for money 2.9 Free plan cannot download; no refunds
Integrations 3.2 Zapier and form syncs; no public API
Docs & learning 4.0 About 400 help articles, free courses; contradictions
Support & reliability 3.0 Praised support, weak billing experience
User sentiment 3.4 Trustpilot 3.1; app stores 4.3 to 4.6
## Ratings at a glance

Trustpilot shows 3.1 from 255 reviews; our 100-review sample averages 3.33, with 29 one-star and 39 five-star reviews [109]. The US App Store shows 4.6 from 1,085 ratings [110] and Google Play 4.3 from 3,681 [111].

The split is by customer, not by product version: long-term users rate it high; one-time visitors rate it low.

Visme against Canva, briefly

Visme's own comparison says Canva is popular for fast everyday design, while Visme is built for teams that create and scale on-brand content [3]. That is a vendor's framing, but the feature lists support it: Visme is stronger on charts, interactivity, analytics and SCORM; Canva is stronger as a free tool that downloads.

Our full comparison and an alternatives list are linked from this hub.

Who should buy Visme

Buy it if your team produces data-heavy reports, interactive decks, or training that has to go into an LMS, and you want one tool for all of it. Annual Pro at US$297 per person is the plan most teams will need, because editable PowerPoint, HTML5 and video export start there [2].

Teachers and students should look first at the US$96 and US$48 education plans [2].

Who should not

Skip it if you need free downloads, if you will use it for one project, or if you need a strict refund policy. Skip it for regulated health data [23]. And skip month-to-month billing unless you will truly use it for less than five months: annual pays for itself after about five months, by our arithmetic.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Visme cost?+

Basic is free; Starter is US$29 a month or US$147 a year per person; Pro is US$59 a month or US$297 a year per person; Enterprise is quoted from 10 users.

Can I download from Visme for free?+

No. JPG, PNG and PDF downloads start on Starter; editable PowerPoint, HTML5 and video start on Pro.

Is Visme good for training content?+

Yes, if you are on Enterprise: it exports SCORM 2004 and xAPI, though it cannot grade tests inside the file.

## The verdict

Visme is a capable, broad editor for business content, with real strengths in data, interactivity and e-learning export, and a support team its customers like. It is let down by a free plan that cannot download, a no-refund policy, a cancellation flow that ends in an email link, and pages that contradict each other. Know those four things before you start, and it is a good buy.
