Visme Starter and Visme Pro look alike at first: both unlock all premium templates and assets, and both remove the Visme logo. The difference is what you can take out of Visme and how much brand control you get. This guide compares the two on Visme's own pages, read on 9 October 2026, in US dollars, with our arithmetic labelled.

The short answer

Choose Starter if you only need JPG, PNG and PDF files. Choose Pro if anyone needs editable PowerPoint, HTML5, video or GIF, a Brand Kit, analytics or privacy controls [2]. Pro costs US$150 more a year per person, by our arithmetic.

💡
Toolkit tip

Buy Pro if anyone needs an editable PowerPoint file.

## Prices
Plan Month-to-month Annual Annual equivalent per month
Starter US$29 US$147 US$12.25
Pro US$59 US$297 US$24.75

From the pricing page [2]. Both are priced per person.

The gap in dollars

By our arithmetic, Pro costs US$30 more a month on monthly billing and US$150 more a year on annual billing. Over twelve months of monthly billing, Starter costs US$348 and Pro US$708.

⚠️
Watch out

Download PPTX and HTML5 files before downgrading from Pro.

## How Visme describes each

The pricing card describes Starter as being for solo creators who want premium visuals [2]. It describes Pro as being "For teams that need branding collaboration and deeper control." [2] The help center calls Pro "Visme’s most popular plan for professionals" and lists a separate Pro for Teams [65].

Downloads, the main difference

Format Starter Pro
JPG, PNG, PDF Yes Yes
PPTX Not editable Editable
HTML5 No Yes
MP4 video No Yes
GIF No Yes
SCORM, xAPI No No (Enterprise)

From the pricing page and the help center's limits page [2] [113] [3].

Starter's PowerPoint export

The comparison table lists PowerPoint export on Starter as limited and not editable [2]. A client receiving a Starter PPTX can view the slides but not change the text. For decks that others must edit, the gap between the two plans is exactly this row.

Why HTML5 matters

HTML5 export keeps animations and interactive elements and opens offline in any browser [69]. If you build interactive content, Starter can only share it as a link; Pro can hand over a working file.

Why PowerPoint matters

Editable PPTX export lets colleagues open and change your slides in PowerPoint; animations do not carry over [3]. A consultant or salesperson whose clients live in PowerPoint needs Pro.

Brand Kit

Pro adds the Brand Kit: logos, colors, fonts and guidelines in one place, applied across projects [81]. The Brand Wizard builds branded templates from your website or brand assets [82]. Starter has no Brand Kit [2]. For anyone producing content for a brand, that alone may decide the plan.

Everything else Pro adds, from the comparison table

Feature Starter Pro
Privacy settings and controls No Yes
Password-protected projects No Yes
Custom animation and animation timeline Basic only Yes
Video and audio hotspots No Yes
Folders and shared folders No Yes
Analytics and lead collection No Yes
Upload own fonts and brand palette No Yes
Hide Visme templates No Yes
Branded publish page and brand URLs No Yes
Master layout No Yes
Slide Library No Yes
Dynamic Fields No Up to 8 fields
Content calendar No Yes
Workflows and slide management No Yes
Integrations No Yes
Remove Made with Visme on forms No Yes
Premium support No Yes

From the pricing page's feature table [2].

What the two share

Both include premium templates and assets, no Visme logo on projects, hyperlinks, sharing with team members or particular emails, comments and live editing, presentation notes, custom content blocks, branded templates, and embedding by link or iFrame [2]. Both include the same AI tools, at different credit levels [2].

Animation and interactivity

On Starter, animation is limited to basic presets and the animation timeline to basic use; Pro adds custom animation, the full timeline and video and audio hotspots [2]. For interactive training, sales or product content, those three rows are the reason to choose Pro.

Organizing work

Starter has no folders and no shared folders [2]. For one person with a few projects that is fine; for anyone keeping dozens of client or campaign projects, Pro's folders matter more than they look.

Analytics

Pro includes analytics on published projects [2]: views, unique visits, time spent and completion, with visitor IP and location [75]. Per-viewer and per-slide analytics need Enterprise [76].

Privacy controls

Pro adds privacy controls [2]. Published projects can be kept private and password-protected from the Share panel [114]. For client work and internal reports, that control matters.

Social scheduling

The content calendar, Visme's social media scheduler, is marked as a Pro feature [2]. The scheduler publishes to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest and Slack [48]. A social media manager on Starter would design in Visme and schedule elsewhere.

Translation, workflows and the content calendar

Project translation is available on Pro and Enterprise only [154]. So are workflows, which assign slides and tasks to team members, and the content calendar for scheduling [155] [156]. Starter has none of the three. Pro has all three.

Productivity features

Pro adds the Slide Library, master layouts and Dynamic Fields, which fill in names, companies or job titles across projects, limited to 8 fields on Pro [2] [3]. Starter keeps custom content blocks, notes, guides and find and replace [2]. Teams that reuse the same slides every week save time on Pro.

Curious how Visme feels in practice?Try Visme →

Brand palettes in practice

Visme's help center is plain about it: the Brand Kit is available on Pro and above, and Basic and Starter users can add colors manually within individual projects but cannot save palettes to the Brand Kit [152]. On Starter, every project starts from scratch on color.

Brand details

Pro lets you upload your own fonts, build brand palettes, hide Visme's stock templates from your team, publish on a branded page and set brand URLs [2]. Starter can use branded templates but cannot upload fonts or palettes [2]. For agencies managing several clients, Pro is the minimum.

Storage

The pricing page gives Starter 1 GB and Pro 10 GB [2]. The help center's limits page lists Pro at 5 GB on new plans [113]. Either way, Pro holds at least five times as much. Both plans can buy more: the help center says storage can be raised to 50 GB or 200 GB per user, without a published price [113]. Check the figure on your account if you work with video.

AI credits

Starter includes 200 AI credits a month and Pro 500 [70]. At 2 credits per AI Designer generation [2], that is up to 100 drafts a month on Starter and 250 on Pro, by our arithmetic. Credits are assigned per user in shared workspaces [70].

Upload limits

Upload Starter Pro
Image, SVG, PDF 25 MB 25 MB
Video 100 MB 100 MB
Audio 5 MB 30 MB
PowerPoint import No limit No limit

From the help center's limits page [113]. Pro's larger audio limit matters for narrated presentations.

Recording

Presenter Studio records up to 45 minutes on both Starter and Pro [113]. Recording is not a reason to choose one over the other.

Forms

Visme Forms accept 1,000 responses a month on Starter and 5,000 on Pro [2]. Starter connects a form to 3 integrations and Pro to 10 [117]. For lead generation at any scale, Pro's limits are the realistic ones.

Integrations

The pricing page lists most integrations on Pro [2]. Visme's directory covers storage, video, forms and Zapier [27]. Salesforce and HubSpot deal data stay on Enterprise [3].

Collaboration

The help center lists comments on projects among Pro's additions over Starter [65]. Pro for Teams adds simultaneous editing, Slide Library and Dynamic Fields, and admin control over templates, colors and fonts [65].

Collaboration, as the table shows it

The comparison table marks collaboration as limited on Basic, not included on Starter, included on Pro and advanced on Enterprise [2], while live editing and comments are included on every plan [2]. The two rows do not sit easily together; in practice, Starter users can co-edit and comment, but folder sharing and workflows start on Pro [2].

A single-user plan stays single-user

On a Starter or Pro subscription you can send invitations, but invited users do not gain access until the workspace is upgraded to a multi-user subscription [153]. Until a seat is activated, they cannot use premium features [153]. Buying one Pro seat and sharing it is not how Visme works.

Reviews and comments

Anyone with a Visme account can comment on a published project [151]. Private links for collecting comments and email invitations to review need Pro [151]. For client feedback rounds, that settles the choice.

Team bundles

Pro is also sold in bundles: three users for US$119 a month or US$864 a year, five for US$159 a month or US$1,440 a year [2]. By our arithmetic, the annual bundles cost US$24 per person a month, below Pro's single-user US$24.75, and the monthly bundles save more.

Teams of six to nine

The structured data prices Pro bundles for three and five users and quotes six or more [2], while Enterprise starts at 10 users [2]. A team of six to nine has no published price at all. Ask sales for a Pro quote in writing, and compare it with five-user bundle pricing at US$24 per person a month.

Starter for a team

Starter has no bundles on the pricing page [2]. Five Starter seats cost US$735 a year, by our arithmetic, but without a Brand Kit, editable exports or analytics [2]. For teams, the realistic comparison is five Starter seats against a Pro bundle of five at US$1,440.

What neither plan includes

SSO, enforced 2FA, custom roles, approvals, the audit log, SCORM and xAPI export, data segregation and a dedicated customer success manager are Enterprise-only [3]. Only Enterprise admins can switch AI features off [3].

What only Enterprise adds

The comparison table reserves many rows for Enterprise alone: SCORM and xAPI downloads, published-project expiry dates, team content blocks, slide progression control, image placeholders, dynamic images, duplicate URLs, XLIFF localization, project and folder permissions, project approval, custom roles, user groups and logs, a custom subdomain and the Salesforce or HubSpot connection [2]. If any of those is required, neither Starter nor Pro is the right comparison.

Ready to put Visme to the test?Try Visme →

Forms on both plans

Starter and Pro both allow unlimited forms and unlimited form questions, with all design and animation settings [2]. The differences are responses (1,000 against 5,000 a month), integrations (3 against 10) and removing the Made with Visme mark, which needs Pro [2].

Embeds and apps

Both plans embed external content by link or iFrame; HTML embeds are Enterprise-only [2]. Apps are limited on Starter and included on Pro [2].

Upgrading from Starter to Pro

The Terms allow pro-rated fees when a user upgrades to a different plan mid-cycle [4]. Nothing else is prorated. If you start on Starter and need Pro, upgrade rather than cancel and repurchase.

Downgrading from Pro to Starter

Downgrading mid-term returns nothing; Visme does not refund early termination [68]. Make the change at renewal. Before you downgrade, download any PPTX, HTML5 or video files you need, because Starter cannot export them [113].

Education alternatives

The Student plan at US$48 a year includes JPG, PNG, PDF and non-editable PowerPoint downloads; the Educator plan at US$96 adds editable PPTX, HTML5, GIF and video export [2]. A teacher who would otherwise need Pro saves US$201 a year on Educator, by our arithmetic, but only for non-commercial use [4].

Buying in the app changes what you can do

If you upgrade to Starter or Pro from the mobile app, you can use the premium features on the web and desktop, but you cannot add users or create a team plan [157]. The separate Mobile/Tablet Pro plan gives the same access and restrictions as the free plan on the website [157].

What downgrading locks

When a subscription ends, projects stay in the account, but premium features and assets used in them may become locked until you upgrade again [159]. Visme says re-upgrading lifts any watermarks and reopens all download and sharing formats [158].

In-app prices

Buying in the iOS app costs a little more: Starter $149.99 and Pro $299.99 a year [110]. Buy on the web. It is cheaper.

Smaller differences worth knowing

Starter and Pro both get a selection of carousel styles [160], and both can let viewers download published projects, which requires a premium subscription [103]. The Visme Forms FAQ says Basic and Starter have reduced features and fewer allowances, while Pro users get full access and can remove the Visme badge [117].

Old plan names in the help center

Some help articles still describe paid workspaces as Standard or Business plans [73], and the Deeper Analytics page compares itself with analytics included with the Business plan [76]. Those are older names; read them as Starter or Pro, and confirm the feature on the current pricing table [2].

Referrals

Paying users on Starter, Pro or Team plans can join Visme's referral program . Basic users cannot. Referral terms sit in the help center.

Support

Premium support is included on Pro and not on Starter [2]. All paid plans get email and chat support, with an AI agent first [2] [3]. Visme's FAQ says urgent issues get a response target of two hours on weekdays [3].

Three buyers

Buyer Plan
A freelancer sending PDF proposals Starter, annual
A consultant whose clients edit decks in PowerPoint Pro, annual
A marketing team of five with a brand Pro team of 5

Our reading of the pricing page [2].

A three-month project

For a project that lasts three months, by our arithmetic month-to-month Starter costs US$87 and Pro US$177, both less than the annual price (US$147 and US$297) [2]. Cancel through the email link before the fourth renewal [66].

AI credits across a team

Credits are assigned per user in shared workspaces [70]. By our arithmetic, five Starter users have 1,000 credits a month between them and a Pro team of five 2,500, but no user can borrow another's allowance. Heavy AI users need Pro individually.

What reviewers say about plan choice

A reviewer in our sample upgraded and found that important features needed the next, more expensive plan, then received an upgrade email at once [109]. Another upgraded twice in an hour for AI features [109]. Both point the same way: check the comparison table for the exact feature before you pay, because Starter lacks more than it seems.

Our recommendation

Most business users should buy Pro. The editable PowerPoint export and the Brand Kit are the features people expect from a business design tool, and Starter has neither. Starter is right for individuals who produce static images and PDFs and never need to hand over an editable file.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Visme Starter and Pro?+

Pro adds editable PowerPoint, HTML5, video and GIF export, a Brand Kit, analytics, privacy controls, more storage, 500 AI credits and higher form limits.

Is Visme Pro worth it?+

For business users who hand over editable decks or work to a brand, yes; for static images and PDFs, Starter is enough.

## The verdict

Starter is a download license for images and PDFs. Pro is the business plan: editable exports, brand control, analytics and higher form limits. Decide by the file you need to deliver, and buy annually if you will stay more than five months.
