Freshdesk's pricing page lists three plans, each charged per agent per month: Growth at $19 per agent per month billed annually ($228 per agent a year) or $23 billed monthly, Pro at $55 per agent per month billed annually ($660 per agent a year) or $66 billed monthly, and Enterprise at $89 per agent per month billed annually ($1,068 per agent a year) or $107 billed monthly.[1] Every agent on an account sits on the same plan. New buyers get no self-serve free plan. Our verdict: Growth is a fair entry price for an email-first team, but the real bill depends on which Pro features you need and on add-ons metered outside the seat.
Growth, Pro or Enterprise: what each seat buys
Prices shown are what Freshdesk lists for visitors in the United States, in US dollars. Your price can differ by country, currency and local taxes such as VAT.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
Growth covers the basics a small team needs: business hours, one default SLA policy, custom ticket fields, scenario automations, multiple support mailboxes, marketplace apps and an API allowance of 100 calls a minute. What it lacks is the coordination layer. Automatic round-robin and load-balanced assignment, multiple SLA policies with reminders and escalations, custom roles, collaborators, custom dashboards (up to 15) and a multilingual help desk all start on Pro. If your managers assign tickets by hand today and plan to keep doing so, Growth holds up. Once you need routing rules or separate SLA targets for different customers, Pro becomes the realistic floor. Decide this first.
Enterprise is a compliance and scale tier. It adds skill-based routing with up to 180 skills, a sandbox for testing changes, an audit log, IP allow and block lists, and Freddy AI Insights, the reporting assistant that is Enterprise only. It is also the only plan with a HIPAA business associate agreement and the PCI card field. Healthcare and payments teams have no cheaper route. Everyone else should treat Enterprise as optional until a security review asks for one of those items.
What a team really pays in a year
Billing monthly for a full year costs $276 per agent on Growth, $792 on Pro and $1,284 on Enterprise, against $228, $660 and $1,068 billed annually. That is about 17% less on each plan, by our arithmetic, slightly below what the page's headline badge suggests. The trade-off is commitment. Annual payments are non-refundable, so the break-even matters. If you might leave within nine months, monthly costs less on every plan. From ten months on, annual costs the same or less on all three.
The same-plan rule drives team totals. A five-agent team on Growth billed annually pays $1,140 a year, by our arithmetic. A ten-agent team on Pro billed annually pays $6,600 a year. Moving those ten agents from Growth to Pro adds $4,320 a year, or $432 per agent. You cannot keep eight agents on Growth and put two leads on Pro. One Pro feature lifts every seat. Before upgrading for a single capability, check whether a workaround on Growth costs less than that gap.
If you might leave within nine months, monthly billing costs less on every plan, by our arithmetic. From ten months on, annual billing costs the same or less.
Occasional agents and collaborators: the cheaper seats
Not everyone who touches tickets needs a full seat. Occasional agents, available from Growth, have no license and consume a day pass each time they log in; a pass stays valid until 23:59 that day. Passes cost $2 per pass on Growth, $7 per pass on Pro and $12 per pass on Enterprise, and every plan includes 3 free day passes. There is no limit on the number of occasional agents. An admin can also convert a departing agent into an occasional agent to free a seat without losing ticket history.
The arithmetic decides who gets a pass. Against a seat billed annually, a seat becomes cheaper from 10 log-in days a month on Growth and from 8 on Pro and Enterprise, by our arithmetic, not counting the 3 free passes. Against a seat billed monthly, a seat becomes cheaper from 12, 10 and 9 days. On an annual plan, a seat added mid-term is billed until the term ends and cannot be removed, so for one busy month passes usually win. Collaborators are cheaper still. Pro and Enterprise include up to 5,000 of them at no seat cost, which suits engineers or finance staff who only add notes.
Add-ons metered outside the seat price
The Freddy AI Agent meter is the one that surprises buyers. New customers on Growth, Pro or Enterprise get the first 500 sessions once per account, not every month, and they last until used. After that, sessions cost $49 per pack of 100 sessions, added to the current billing cycle.[2] An email session covers 72 hours from the customer's first email, however many replies follow. Unused purchased sessions do not carry over to the next billing cycle, and at zero the AI agents stop taking new queries. A thousand sessions beyond the free 500 cost $490, by our arithmetic. Budget for packs early. Standalone Freshdesk offers the Email AI Agent only.
Freddy AI Copilot, the per-agent writing and triage assistant, is sold on Pro and Enterprise only, at $29 per agent per month billed annually or $35 billed monthly. You buy it for chosen agents, and day passes do not cover it. Adding Copilot for ten Pro agents billed annually adds $3,480 a year, by our arithmetic. Freshdesk can also assign unused purchased licenses automatically to all eligible full-time agents after an in-product notice.
Freshdesk can assign unused purchased Copilot licenses to all eligible full-time agents after an in-product notice. Contact support before the notice date if you want to opt out.
Two technical meters matter for teams that integrate heavily. MCP actions, which let AI tools work on tickets, come with 100, 500 or 1,000 included a month on Growth, Pro and Enterprise, then cost $15 per pack of 1,000 actions, a recurring pack added to each billing cycle. Connector app tasks, used by apps such as the Salesforce connector, cost $80 per 5,000 tasks. You can also buy extra API calls to raise the rate limit, but Freshdesk does not publish that price.
Billing rules: trial, renewal and leaving
The 14-day trial runs on Enterprise features with no credit card. When it ends you choose a plan and pay, or the account is suspended, and the Terms say trial data is permanently deleted unless you export it first.[3] There is no self-serve free plan; Freshdesk can move a small account into its Free program, up to 2 agents, through Customer Success. Payment is by Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express. PayPal is not accepted. Prices exclude taxes.
The help center lists monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual cycles, but the pricing page publishes only monthly and annual prices.[4] Added agents and upgrades are charged pro rata and apply at once. Downgrades and seat reductions wait for the end of the cycle, and you must deactivate surplus agents first or every configured agent stays billed. Plans auto-renew unless your written notice arrives at least 30 days before expiry. Freshworks may raise fees at renewal with 30 days' notice. Set a reminder 45 to 60 days before renewal.
The trial is 14 days on Enterprise features with no card. If you do not pay when it ends, the account is suspended and trial data can be permanently deleted unless you export it.
Omni, Zendesk and Help Scout prices in context
Older Freshworks pages still show lower starting prices, a forever-free offer, or Omni's higher prices labelled as Freshdesk. None of those is current Freshdesk pricing. Freshdesk Omni is the bundle that adds live web chat, WhatsApp, Instagram and SMS, which standalone Freshdesk does not offer to new accounts. Omni's own page lists Growth at $29 per agent per month billed annually or $35 monthly. Omni Pro is $79 per agent per month billed annually or $95 monthly. Omni Enterprise is $119 per agent per month billed annually or $143 monthly. On the Growth tier, Omni costs $120 more per agent a year than Freshdesk, by our arithmetic. Our Freshdesk Omni guide covers the channel differences.
Zendesk also bills per agent: Support Team is $19 per agent per month billed annually or $25 monthly, and Suite Team is $55 billed annually or $69 monthly. Its AI agents bill per automated resolution rather than per session, at $1.50 committed or $2.00 pay-as-you-go beyond the included amount. Zendesk accepts PayPal and keeps data exportable for 30 days after the term. Our Freshdesk vs Zendesk comparison lines up the plans. Help Scout's page lists Standard at $25 per user per month (its annual toggle shows 16% off) and keeps a free plan for 5 users. HubSpot Service Hub offers a free plan with ticketing and prices its paid tiers per seat.
Frequently asked questions
How do I cancel Freshdesk?+
An account administrator cancels from Billing in the account. There is no cancellation fee, but the cancellation takes effect only at the end of the paid term and payments are non-refundable. After closure, data stays available for export for 14 days.
Can I change my billing currency later?+
You pick it during the trial. After the first purchase it is fixed in the product, and any change goes through billing@freshworks.com.
Does Freshdesk offer nonprofit, education or startup discounts?+
Freshdesk does not publish one. The help center says discounts by subscription length and agent count are handled through sales.
Who can reactivate a suspended account?+
Only the Account Administrator gets the pay-and-reactivate link. An account is suspended when the trial ends or when a card renewal fails on four successive days.
The bottom line
Freshdesk's seat prices are clear and list-only, and Growth at $19 per agent per month billed annually is the honest starting point for a small team handling mostly email. The real cost sits in three places: the Pro gate for routing and multiple SLAs, which lifts every seat at once; the AI session meter, which is free only for the first 500 sessions; and an annual commitment that cannot be refunded or reduced mid-term. Count your occasional users, decide on Pro before signing, and set a renewal reminder 45 to 60 days early.
