Read AI works for a sales team as a meeting assistant that files every external call into the CRM. On Pro and above it logs call notes to Salesforce and HubSpot, creates missing leads or contacts, turns action items into CRM tasks and suggests deal-stage moves, while Speaker Coach scores each rep's talk. The real entry price is Pro at $15 per user per month billed annually, or $19.75 per user per month billed monthly, because Salesforce and HubSpot are premium integrations that Free does not get [1]. Call playback starts on Enterprise. It is a strong fit for small teams selling over Zoom, Teams and Meet. Phone-heavy teams should look elsewhere.

What Read AI writes into Salesforce and HubSpot

In Salesforce, Read logs each meeting as a Call task on the matching Contacts, Leads, Accounts and Opportunities, including matched open opportunities, and it can do this automatically or one meeting at a time. A setting creates a new Lead for any external participant who is not in Salesforce yet, and a one-time sync pushes past meetings. The first person to connect must be a Salesforce administrator, the org needs API access, and Person Accounts are not supported [2]. Action items can also become Salesforce tasks linked to a Contact, Lead, Account or Opportunity.

HubSpot gets a little more. Read syncs notes, action items and transcripts to Contacts, Companies and Deals, can create a contact that does not exist yet, and recommends when a deal you own is ready to move stage [3]. A HubSpot card shows up to five recent meetings on a record; playing the recording inside HubSpot needs Enterprise. A Workspace admin can connect HubSpot once for the whole team, which replaces individual connections and lets every member search every CRM record, whatever their own HubSpot permissions.

Two rules decide what actually lands in the CRM. Only external participants sync, meaning people on a different email domain. And automatic logging relies on the calendar invite, so a meeting where a rep pastes the link, opens the Zoom App or uses the extension must be pushed by hand. Book it on the calendar, or it stays out of the CRM.

Book every call on the calendar

Automatic Salesforce and HubSpot logging relies on the calendar invite; a meeting started from a pasted link or the Zoom App must be pushed to the CRM by hand.

Templates and call coaching for every rep

Read AI's stock report templates include the SPICED, BANT and MEDDPICC sales frameworks plus a discovery-call template, and teams can write custom ones. Each report has a shared view for every viewer and a personal view. Since July 2026, CRM auto-push for HubSpot or Salesforce uses a chosen push template, so a discovery call can land in the CRM as a qualification summary while the rep keeps their own layout. Two details matter for managers. A manual push sends the personal view. And changing the push template later does not rewrite reports already sent. Template rules are capped at 10 per user, with 2 conditions each.

Coaching is free on every plan. Speaker Coach is private to each attendee and tracks talk time, pace (Read recommends 130 to 175 words a minute), filler words (under 4%), engagement and sentiment, and Read AI's sales articles add what it calls power dynamics. Read builds coaching only for people with an active Read account, so give every rep their own. Jumping straight to a coaching moment needs playback, which means Enterprise. Outside the EU and UK, engagement uses facial and gaze analysis; inside them it does not, and bias and charisma scores are unavailable there.

Ask Read, Prepare and the sales agents

Ask Read is the search-and-chat layer across meetings, Gmail or Outlook, and Slack or Teams, with unlimited questions on every plan. Adding HubSpot and Salesforce as sources needs Pro. A manager can then ask about a stalled deal and get an answer with citations drawn from calls, threads and CRM data. Reports shared with you become searchable even when you skipped the meeting. Read connects to only one HubSpot account, and tickets, files, tasks and custom objects are not searchable.

Ask Read Actions cover four jobs: CRM update, email, calendar and scheduled updates. The CRM update action needs a HubSpot or Salesforce connection on Pro or above, and an email goes out only after the user confirms it. In March 2026 Read AI introduced Ask Read Actions for Sales, which Read AI says can move a HubSpot deal stage, send follow-ups, book calls, build shared deal-room folders and run a weekly pipeline briefing from one prompt.

Then come the agents. The Sales Funnel agent needs a paid plan or the trial plus a connected Salesforce or HubSpot account, and suggests when a deal is ready for its next stage. Monday Briefing summarizes the week ahead on paid plans, in English. Prepare builds private pre-reads from email, CRM and Slack in the web app. One warning applies here. Once switched on, agentic features act without approval for each action, and Read AI's Terms disclaim liability for what they do. Read AI says (May 2025) that sellers in its Sales AGI pilot updated opportunities 28% more often. That is a vendor pilot, not a benchmark.

⚠️
Watch out
Agents act without asking

Once a user switches on Read AI's agentic features, they act without approval for each action, and Read AI's Terms disclaim liability for those actions.

The plan a sales team actually needs

Plan Price What a sales team gets
Free $0 5 reports a month (reports shared with you count), 1-hour meetings, no CRM sync, no Workspace

Every person in a Workspace needs a license, all licenses sit on the same plan, and Free users cannot join one. The sales manager counts too, since there are no admin-only licenses. Free is no sales plan anyway. Shared reports count toward its 5 a month, so a manager on Free who reads a team's calls runs out within days. Pro is the floor, and the real question is whether managers need to replay calls.

By our arithmetic, five reps on Pro come to $900 a year billed annually or $1,185 billed monthly; on Enterprise, $1,350 or $1,785. Nine reps and a manager are 10 licenses: $1,800 or $2,370 a year on Pro, and $2,700 or $3,570 on Enterprise. The Pro-to-Enterprise step is $90 a year per user on annual billing, so playback for a 10-person team adds $900 a year by our arithmetic. Pay it if managers review calls by listening. Skip it if they coach from transcripts and Speaker Coach. Annual billing saves about 24% on both plans. Read AI does not offer refunds, so start monthly if you are unsure; the details are in our Read AI pricing guide.

Price playback per manager need

Moving from Pro to Enterprise costs $90 per user a year on annual billing by our arithmetic; pay it only if managers coach by replaying calls rather than reading transcripts.

Recording prospects without surprising them

On Zoom, Teams and Meet, Read joins as a visible participant and posts a chat notice naming who invited it, with commands any attendee can type to stop it or opt out and delete everything [4]. The desktop and mobile apps are different. They capture audio locally, Read does not appear in the participant list, and the rep must tell the buyer and collect consent, because the product cannot enforce it. Read AI's Terms put that duty on the user. Read AI's own guide says about a dozen US states require all-party consent and that the strictest law applies on multi-state calls.

Paid Workspaces can turn on Advance Notice. Invitees outside the Workspace, which means every prospect, get an email before the meeting with an opt-out button and a reminder 24 hours ahead, and one opt-out stops recording for everyone. Expect some buyers to use it. On Zoom, since November 2026 Read joins only when the rep has connected a Zoom account and is in the call. By default, connecting a calendar sends Read to every event and the recap to everyone with access, so set auto-join to hosted or internal-only meetings before the first demo; our guide on how to remove Read AI covers each setting.

Where a dedicated revenue tool still wins

Read AI is a meeting assistant with CRM sync, not a conversation-intelligence suite built around the pipeline. Phone selling is the biggest gap. Read cannot join Webex, GoTo Meeting, RingCentral or dialer calls, and the mobile app cannot record phone calls. The workaround is the desktop app or an upload, and both lose coaching and speaker attribution. CRM writing is also narrower than its marketing suggests: external participants only, calendar-booked meetings only, stage suggestions only for deals the user owns, and a Workspace HubSpot connection that ignores user-level permissions.

Rivals price and gate this differently. Gong sells per-user licenses plus a platform fee through a custom proposal. Avoma charges only for recorder seats, keeps viewers free and requires the same plan for all recording users. Otter's Salesforce and HubSpot integration covers 1 user on Pro and 5 on Business. For the Fireflies route, see our Fireflies.ai for sales teams guide.

Frequently asked questions

Who has to connect Salesforce first?+

A Salesforce administrator must be the first Read user to connect, and the Salesforce org needs API access. Salesforce Person Accounts are not supported for syncing.

Can a sales team mix Pro and Enterprise licenses?+

No. Every license in a Read AI Workspace is on the same plan and billing cycle, so the whole team moves to Enterprise together if managers want playback.

Does Read AI work on EDU plans for sales training courses?+

Not with a CRM. Read AI's EDU plans support no Workspaces and no premium integrations, so HubSpot, Salesforce, Zapier and webhooks are unavailable there.

Does the trial include CRM sync?+

Every new account gets a 7-day Enterprise trial with no card, and the Sales Funnel agent works during it with a connected Salesforce or HubSpot account. After 7 days the account moves to Free, which has no premium integrations.

The bottom line

Read AI suits a small sales team that books calls on Zoom, Teams or Meet and mostly wants the CRM filled without typing. Pro covers the sync, tasks, templates, Ask Read over CRM data and the Sales Funnel agent; Enterprise adds call playback for managers who coach by listening. It is the wrong buy for dialer-heavy teams or for anyone expecting a full revenue platform. Book every meeting through the calendar, turn on Advance Notice, and judge the deal-stage suggestions in a pilot of your own.
