How TidyCal support works, and how fast it answers

TidyCal support runs by email and an in-app Help chat that starts with an AI assistant, backed by a detailed help center and a public feedback board [1]. There is no phone line on any plan. Email support comes with every plan, Free included, with a typical 8-hour response [2]. TidyCal does not publish a guaranteed reply time, and we found no published weekend hours. In practice, a host who emails at 9am can reasonably expect a reply by mid-afternoon, while a problem reported late on a Friday may wait until the next working day.

That model suits a solo host whose problems can wait a working day. A practice that takes payments every hour may need answers faster, which is where Pro comes in. Pro includes priority support, where emails are flagged as priority, and the pricing page describes it as faster response times. Lifetime plans do not include it, and Agency Lifetime does not either. Pro costs $99 a year, and for a host already on a lifetime plan it also buys no branding and no platform fee. Support speed is one of several reasons to add it, and rarely the deciding one. Our TidyCal pricing guide covers the plans.

The channels: email, the Help chat and AppSumo

The listed channels are email at support@tidycal.com, the in-app Help chat, the help center, the feedback board and AppSumo's help center for license purchases [1]. The sensible order is to start in the app and email for anything complex. Several help articles point to the email address for problems the app cannot solve, and some jobs go only through it, such as deleting a booking or deleting a paid account. Write from your account email, because it speeds identification.

The Help chat and its AI assistant

The Help chat sits in the TidyCal logo menu and is run by the TidyCal Assistant, an AI help chat that draws many of its answers from the help center. When it cannot help, it hands off to email support. That handoff matters, because a YouCanBookMe blog quotes a TidyCal user who felt support was only a chatbot. Ask it first. If it stalls, ask for a human, and email reaches people.

Answers on AppSumo

AppSumo's TidyCal page has a questions tab with 1,441 questions, and the team answers there too, usually within 24 hours. The answers cover brands, calendars, payments and team members, so many buyers will find their question already asked. AppSumo is also where lifetime licenses live. Activation always starts on AppSumo, and AppSumo handles refunds for AppSumo purchases, while TidyCal support handles the account side.

Toolkit tip
Write from your account email

Email support@tidycal.com from the address on your account and include the booking link, the time and a screenshot.

The help center and the feedback board

The help center at help.tidycal.com runs on Help Scout and holds 78 articles plus FAQ pages. Its categories cover getting started, booking types and availability, core features, integrations, team and agency management, billing and plans, the API, bookings and troubleshooting, and the FAQ pages answer plan and limit questions. The most popular articles start with booking types, the FAQ and embedding, alongside a TidyCal vs Calendly comparison. Most articles carry a Last updated date, mostly from September 2026, which helps when pages disagree.

Some still disagree. The MCP plan requirement is described differently in two places, and one email variable showing 0 is called fixed in one article and intended in another. When that happens, trust the newest dated page and ask support if it still matters. The help center also documents known issues, such as a plan still showing Free after activation and an SMS fix for Chinese characters in November 2025.

The feedback board is not a promise

Feature requests and the roadmap live on a public board where users vote, available on all plans. Votes are anonymous and there are no guaranteed delivery dates. A feature that matters to your business today, such as webhooks or a mobile app, should be treated as absent when choosing a plan, however many votes it collects. Even the board's platform is unclear: the help center says Atomic Feedback, while the board itself says ProductLift. It does not change how you vote. Bugs, by contrast, go to support by email, and the board asks users to email support for high-priority bugs. Mixing the two slows both.

Fixing sign-in problems yourself

Many tickets can be skipped, starting with logins. TidyCal supports email and password, Google and LinkedIn sign-in. Device verification is on by default on every plan, so a new browser needs a 6-digit emailed code valid for 15 minutes, with up to 3 resends allowed per hour. Reset links work for 60 minutes. A host locked out on a new phone between sessions usually has three quick routes back in: the emailed code, a password reset link, or Google or LinkedIn sign-in, which skips the code. Check the spam folder before anything else.

There is no password field in Settings, so passwords change only through the reset email. Resetting logs out all other sessions and sends a notification, and passwords need at least 8 characters. Up to 30 email changes are allowed in 24 hours. Changing the email on a Google sign-in account disconnects Google sign-in, so set a password first, then change the email. All of this works the same on every plan.

When a lifetime plan still shows Free

Lifetime licenses match TidyCal accounts by email. If your plan still shows Free after buying, the AppSumo purchase email and the TidyCal account email probably differ. There is no code field inside TidyCal that support could use to apply the license by hand, so the fix is usually an email change on one side. Activation is instant once they match. Refresh and check again.

Fixing availability, calendar and meeting problems

When dates or times go missing, use Troubleshoot availability before contacting support. It labels every blocked slot with a reason, such as calendar events, limits or rules, and it is visible only to the owner while logged in. After saving, TidyCal checks 30 days ahead and warns if no slots exist. A host who sees no slots on Thursday after setting a daily limit of three bookings should check whether three sessions are already booked, because limits count only that booking type and exclude cancellations. Check overrides too, then fix and save again.

Toolkit tip
Run Troubleshoot availability first

It labels every blocked slot with a reason, so check it before reporting missing dates or times.

Calendar connections fail more quietly. A calendar needing reconnection for over 30 days stops blocking time, and events from a broken connection keep blocking for 30 days, so reconnect early. Microsoft work accounts may need admin approval, and iCloud needs an app-specific password. Microsoft Teams links need a Microsoft 365 Business or Education account, and personal accounts usually fail. TidyCal emails you when Teams meeting creation fails. Switch to Meet or Zoom if needed, then retest. Manual resync runs once a minute.

Payments, refunds and billing

A declined card, and a host who is not told

A declined Stripe card holds the slot about four hours and emails the client a payment link, with two emails in total. TidyCal does not email the host. A Payment failed badge appears in the bookings list instead. A coach who does not check that list can miss a client whose slot is held and then released, so a daily look at the badges pays off.

⚠️
Watch out
Failed payments do not alert you

When a client's card is declined, TidyCal emails the client but not the host. Check the bookings list for Payment failed badges.

Refunding a client

TidyCal has no refund button; refunds are done in Stripe or PayPal, and support cannot do them for you [3]. Canceling a paid booking does not refund it either. The 1% fee returns with Stripe refunds, so a host refunding a $100 Stripe session in full returns the $1 platform fee to the client automatically, while Stripe's own processing fee follows Stripe's rules. Stripe refunds take 5 to 10 business days to show. Tell clients. The payments history page has no sidebar link, and platform fee questions are answered in the help center.

Refunds, cancellation and invoices for your own plan

Pro is fully refundable within 7 days of purchase through support, and after 7 days payments are non-refundable. Pro has no trial. Lifetime plans bought on AppSumo can be refunded there for 60 days, with no self-service refund button inside TidyCal, while legacy direct purchases have a 60-day self-service refund. A refund returns the account to Free. That gap is large: a lifetime buyer has 60 days, a Pro subscriber has 7. Anyone testing TidyCal seriously should do it on Free or on a lifetime license first. Our TidyCal lifetime deal guide covers that route.

Canceling Pro needs no ticket. You cancel in the Stripe customer portal or billing settings, Pro stays active until the period ends, and the account falls back to Free or a lifetime plan with data preserved. For invoices, AppSumo issues them for lifetime plans, Stripe emails receipts for Pro, and the Pro billing portal lets you download invoices. It has no field for a VAT number, and support cannot add one.

Deleting bookings, accounts and client data

Hosts cannot delete bookings themselves; removal requires emailing support. Deleting the calendar event does not cancel the booking, so cancel in TidyCal first and then ask support to remove it. Free users can delete their own account, while paid users must contact support. Deletion removes booking pages, types, bookings, contacts and connected calendars, but the privacy policy says underlying records are kept unless permanent deletion is requested. A paid user who wants every trace removed should ask for permanent deletion explicitly.

For client contact data, a public Data Erasure Request form at tidycal.com/gdpr lets anyone ask for removal without logging in, rate limited to 3 requests a minute. The DPA promises deletion within 10 business days after services end. TidyCal is operated by Sumo Group Inc., says it is designed to comply with GDPR, offers a public DPA on all plans and notes that data may be processed outside the EEA. On security, it uses email device verification, invisible reCAPTCHA and rate limiting, keeps server logs for 15 days and has no authenticator-app 2FA. Trusted devices can be removed.

Bugs, outages and abuse

Email support@tidycal.com for bugs, and give support everything up front: write from your account email, name the booking type and include its link, give the date, time and time zone, attach a screenshot and say which plan you hold. Clear reports help. One AppSumo buyer saw lost features restored within hours after reporting a bug. Suspicious booking pages should be reported to support too. TidyCal added automatic phishing detection and user banning against malicious booking types, and multiple accounts are against the guidelines and may lead to termination.

Outages are harder to follow. Users affected by a September 2025 outage were automatically given 14-day free trials as compensation, which shows TidyCal acknowledged it. But TidyCal publishes no status page in the pages we read, so the first sign of trouble is often a missing booking or an unhappy client rather than an official notice. Report outages to support and keep evidence. Beyond email, TidyCal documents no escalation path. Pro flags your emails as priority, AppSumo buyers can also ask on the questions tab, and payment disputes belong with Stripe or PayPal.

What users and rivals say about support

Our own sample tells a calmer story than the reputation of email-only support might suggest. Among the 100 most recent Trustpilot reviews, 74 are five-star and 14 one-star by our count [4]. Support appears in 15 of them, price in 23, and login and account topics in 9. That means roughly one recent review in seven mentions support at all, against nearly one in four mentioning price. Complaints are a minority.

Outside Trustpilot, the picture is mixed. An AppSumo tutoring business noted no phone support but praised responsive email. The critical voices come from rivals and partners. Zapier's comparison says TidyCal tiers its support and some customers report slow responses, and the YouCanBookMe post quotes the user who felt support was only a chatbot. Both have angles. Weigh them against TidyCal's own figure of 8 hours.

TidyCal support next to Calendly, and who should worry

Calendly lists 24/7 email support and a help center on every plan, adds 24/7 chat on paid plans and keeps phone support for Enterprise. Calendly offers more channels. A team that needs an answer at 2am can open a chat with Calendly on a paid plan, while a TidyCal team writes an email and waits for the typical 8-hour reply. That gap matters most for businesses booking clients around the clock.

Solo coaches, tutors and consultants with simple setups will be fine. They can lean on the help center, the Help chat and email. Practices that take many paid bookings a day may need faster answers than 8 hours, and teams that need phone support will not find it. Developers get email only, with no developer forum among the channels; our TidyCal API guide covers what the documentation answers on its own. In teams, members on Free keep Free support and priority follows Pro, so owners should hold Pro.

The bottom line

TidyCal support is email-first, with an AI chat, a strong help center and no phone. A typical 8-hour reply suits most solo hosts, and most problems, from logins to missing slots to a plan that still shows Free, can be fixed without a ticket. For a solo host paying $29 once or nothing at all, that is a fair deal. A busy team should add Pro for priority, or choose a rival with chat or phone support if urgent answers matter. It is fine for small businesses and thin for urgent needs.
