VEED's AI video generator is four tools, and they all spend one pool of AI credits. Type a prompt in the VEED AI dashboard and you get an editable script, then a finished video with a voice, footage and, if you want, an on-screen character. AI Playground produces short clips from third-party models such as Veo 3.1, Kling and Seedance. Fabric 1.0 turns a photo plus audio into a talking clip of up to 30 seconds. Writing the script is free. Generating is not. On Creator's 500 monthly credits, one Veo 3.1 clip costs 310, so the right plan depends on how many generated clips you need each month.

The Toolkit take
240 credits
Cost of one 30-second Fabric 1.0 talking clip at 720p (8 credits a second).
5,000
Characters per dashboard script
310 credits
One Veo 3.1 generation in AI Playground
3 free
Fabric tries of up to 10 s each (not India, Pakistan, Bangladesh)

Pick the right generator before you spend a credit

The four entry points overlap in the menu, and that overlap is where wasted credits start. The VEED AI dashboard, the default home screen for all accounts since 21 August 2026, is the prompt-to-video path for explainers and social posts. AI Playground generates new footage from a text prompt or an image. Gen-AI Studio assembles a video from stock clips, avatars, text to speech and music, and VEED's help says it does not generate AI video itself. Fabric 1.0 is VEED's own model for talking heads.

Tool What it produces What spends credits
VEED AI dashboard A script, then a full video with voice, footage and an optional character Generating the video; a voice with no character is free
AI Playground Short text-to-video or image-to-video clips Every successful generation, priced per model
Gen-AI Studio A video assembled from stock clips, avatars, voice and music Avatars, text to speech, replacing clips
Fabric 1.0 A lip-synced talking clip from an image and audio 8 credits a second at 720p

For a narrated explainer, start in the dashboard. For one striking shot in an ad or a gap that needs B-roll, open Playground. When a person has to speak to camera, use Fabric or an avatar. Everything lands in the same editor, so you can combine outputs from all four in one project and trim, caption and animate them on the timeline. That shared timeline is the real advantage over single-purpose generators: the clip is a starting point, not the final file.

From prompt to finished video in the VEED AI dashboard

The dashboard flow has three stages, and only the last one costs credits. Creating a project and writing or generating a script are free [1]. You type a prompt, and AI Studio Lite drafts a script you can rewrite before anything renders. Paste your own script instead and VEED uses it exactly as written, up to 5,000 characters. Scripts and voices work in 30 languages.

  1. Set the brief: video type, platform, audience and tone of voice, or start from a template (the Templates tab is on Studio and Enterprise only).
  2. Set a target duration if you started from a prompt. It only guides script length, so the video can run shorter or longer depending on the voice.
  3. Edit the script, pick a voice (a workspace voice clone sits at the top of the list) and choose a character or none.
  4. Generate, then download, share or open the result in AI Studio to change scenes, characters, subtitles and footage.

The character choice drives the bill. A VEED AI video with a voice and no on-screen character uses no AI credits, so narrated explainers over footage are the cheapest generated output on the platform. New workspaces in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and most of the EU also get three free character-video generations before credits apply. You can build a custom character from a photo and a short voice recording and reuse it in every video, which suits a founder or trainer who appears in a weekly update.

Skip the character to save credits

A VEED AI dashboard video with a voice and no on-screen character uses no AI credits. Add a character only where a face helps.

Generating clips in AI Playground

AI Playground is available on every plan, Free included, and every generation spends credits; the exact cost shows on the Generate button before you commit. Credits leave only when a generation succeeds. A failed render is free. A result you dislike is charged anyway, which is the best reason to test a prompt on a cheaper model first. Generated clips are typically a few seconds long, so anything longer means stitching several clips on the timeline.

VEED's rate table sets the prices [2]. Veo 3.1 costs 310 credits a generation and Veo 3.1 Fast 150. Kling 3 costs 20 credits a second for clips of 3, 5 or 8 seconds, and Seedance 2.5 costs 59.2 credits a second. Hailuo 2.3 is 70 a generation, VEED Motion 10 and LTX Video 4. By our arithmetic, an 8-second Kling 3 clip costs 160 credits and a 5-second Seedance 2.5 clip about 296. Premium models such as Nano Banana Pro, Kling 2.6 and VEED Motion need a paid plan with a credit add-on, according to their model pages.

Two settings change results more than wording does. The Enhance toggle is on by default and rewrites your prompt before the model sees it [3]. Switch it off when a character must say your dialogue word for word. Speech runs at roughly 2.5 words a second, so about 12 words fit a 5-second clip and 25 words a 10-second one. For image-to-video, you upload an image and pick an aspect ratio, and VEED warns when the ratio does not match the image.

Content filtering is applied by each model provider, and VEED cannot override it. Veo filters more strictly. VEED says Sora 2 blocks some prompts and handles talking scenes unreliably, that Kling's lip sync works for short clips but not long dialogue, and that Pixverse v4.5 has no realistic lip sync yet. Choose the model for the shot. A dialogue scene belongs on a model with reliable lip sync, or on Fabric.

⚠️
Watch out
Disliked results still cost credits

Credits are charged on every successful generation, even one you never use; only failed generations are free.

Talking videos: Fabric 1.0, avatars and your own character

Fabric 1.0 takes an image and an audio track and returns a lip-synced talking video [4]. The audio can be an upload, a microphone recording or an AI voice, and clips run up to 30 seconds, with audio capped at the same length. At 8 credits a second at 720p, a full 30-second clip costs 240 credits. Every user gets three free Fabric generations of up to 10 seconds each, except in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. One 30-second clip holds about 75 words of script, by our arithmetic.

Stock avatars are the other route. VEED lists 70+ AI characters speaking 80+ languages, and each avatar generation accepts up to 20,000 characters of script. Avatars use credits, and regenerating charges again. An avatar's appearance cannot change on regeneration, and only one avatar or talking character can be on screen at a time. Avatars are not available in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Pakistan or the Philippines, and a set of legacy avatars retires at the end of 2026.

Personal avatars of yourself are recorded in the browser with an on-screen teleprompter, plus a voice-identification and consent step that VEED says prevents unauthorized use. A workspace holds one voice clone. Inside Gen-AI Studio, avatar videos are 9:16 only, and video length is capped at 1 minute on Creator, 5 minutes on Pro and 30 minutes on Studio. Opening a Gen-AI Studio project in the editor is one-way. Finish the script first.

Enhance is on by default and rewrites your prompt. Switch it off when a character must say your lines word for word.

What each plan's credits actually buy

Credits come in one pool per workspace. Free gets 50 a month, in some regions only; Creator gets 500, Pro 2,500 and Studio 15,000 a month on monthly billing, or 6,000, 30,000 and 180,000 a year on annual plans. Nothing rolls over. Monthly credits expire at renewal, and annual ones reset once a year. On the web, more credits means moving to a higher-credit variant of your plan, which counts as an upgrade.

Here is the math for talking clips. At 240 credits per 30-second Fabric clip, a 500-credit allowance covers two clips a month, 2,500 credits cover ten and 15,000 cover 62, by our arithmetic. The Free plan's 50 credits buy about 6 seconds. For Veo 3.1 at 310 credits a clip, the same three allowances give one, eight and 48 clips. That gap matters. A team planning one premium clip a week on Creator billed monthly can afford the first one; the second week's clip already needs a bigger allowance.

Creator costs $25 per editor seat billed monthly, or $12.25 a month billed annually ($147 a year). On monthly billing, Creator's 1,500-credit variant at $35 per seat a month covers six 30-second Fabric clips (1,440 credits). Above six clips, skip the bigger Creator tiers: the 2,500-credit variant costs $45 per seat a month, the same as base Pro, which adds 4K export on the same credits. On annual billing, skip the Creator variants entirely. The 1,500-credit variant costs $267 a year per seat, while base Pro costs $265 a year and carries 30,000 credits plus 4K. Every workspace member, pending invites included, is billed as a seat; our VEED pricing guide has the full plan math.

Rules to check before you publish

Exports on the Free plan carry a hardcoded watermark at 720p, so a video generated on Free must be re-exported from the original project after upgrading. Creator exports up to 1080p, and Pro up to 4K. VEED's help says it places no restrictions on commercial use of videos created on the platform, but for generated clips and images, check the model's licence on its VEED model page. FLUX Dev, for one, is non-commercial only. The Code of Conduct bans impersonation with avatars or text to speech, AI content that falsely depicts a person, and removing the provenance marks that identify AI content. Content uploaded on the Free plan is used to improve VEED's products, including training AI models, according to its privacy policy.

Generation inside your own product is a different purchase. The VEED API is a separate account with its own prepaid credits, and editor plans never cover API jobs; our VEED API guide covers its rates. In the editor, AI tools such as text to speech, subtitle translation, AI Rephrase, AI Transitions and AI Background Expand draw on the same workspace pool as generation, so budget for both. Magic Cut, Clean Audio and Eye Contact spend no credits. Magic Cut works on every plan, Free included; Clean Audio and Eye Contact are a one-time try on Free and unlimited on paid plans. Our VEED AI guide explains what each tool costs.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free trial of VEED's paid plans for AI video?+

No. VEED offers a Free plan rather than a trial: AI credits in some regions (50 a month), three free Fabric tries of up to 10 seconds (not in India, Pakistan or Bangladesh) and watermarked 720p exports. The only free trial is for Enterprise, with at least 3 users.

Can I generate AI video on my phone?+

Yes. The iOS app runs the same VEED AI flow, and the Android app has been on the Play Store since 21 September 2026, with one account across web and mobile. VEED Lite is a separate iOS captions app with its own Apple subscription.

Can I buy extra AI credits without changing plans?+

Not on the web. One-off credit top-ups exist only in the iOS Lite app; on the web you move to a higher-credit variant of your plan, which is an upgrade that resets the billing period.

Which languages does VEED AI support?+

VEED AI scripts and voices work in 30 languages. Voice cloning, powered by ElevenLabs Eleven v4, covers 90+ languages, and stock avatars speak 80+ languages.

The bottom line

VEED's generator is strongest as a script-first explainer tool: the script is free, a voice-over video without a character costs no credits, and every generated clip drops straight into a full editor. The costs sit in characters and premium models, and a result you dislike is still charged. Test on the Free plan and on cheap models, then count the talking clips you need each month. Up to two fit base Creator. On monthly billing, up to six fit the 1,500-credit Creator variant; on annual billing, go straight to base Pro, which covers up to ten. Beyond ten, pick a higher-credit Pro variant or Studio.
