The short answer
Calendly is the closest all-round alternative to YouCanBookMe, and unlike YouCanBookMe it includes 250 texts per seat a month [1]. Cal.com has the most generous free plan. TidyCal sells a one-time license for people who dislike subscriptions. Setmore is the cheapest for staff teams, and Acuity Scheduling is the pick for clinics that need a signed BAA. The right choice depends less on list prices than on what you pay outside the plan. We read every price from each vendor's own pricing page on 13 October 2026, from a US connection, and kept only tools that cover YouCanBookMe's core job: a booking page tied to calendars. We did not test text delivery on any tool.
Why people look beyond YouCanBookMe
The usual reasons are costs outside the plan and missing features. Texts are never included, and Stripe payments carry a 1% commission on every plan [2]. There is no mobile app, no HIPAA option and no custom domain, since links always end in youcanbook.me. Support is email on weekdays. None of these gaps shows up in the list price, which is why a buyer who compares only the plan grid can end up paying more than expected. A five-member team sending 250 texts each a month adds $1,050 a year in credits to YouCanBookMe's $972 Team bill, by our arithmetic.
So one question decides most switches. What will you pay outside the plan? Add texts at $0.07 each and 1% of your payments to YouCanBookMe's price, then compare the total with tools that include them. For any business that reminds clients by text, that row matters more than the price row, because 500 texts a month cost $35 a month on YouCanBookMe, or $420 a year, our arithmetic. YouCanBookMe also takes Stripe only, so if your bookers expect PayPal, it is out.
Add texts at $0.07 each and 1% of your payments to YouCanBookMe's price, then compare with tools that include texts. For text-heavy businesses, that row matters more than the list price.
The alternatives at a glance
Eight tools made the cut. The first table shows how each one charges and what it includes, and the second puts team prices side by side, per person a month on yearly billing. Read the pricing unit carefully: several rivals price per user, while YouCanBookMe sizes plans by calendars and pages, so a fair comparison starts from your headcount and your calendar count.
| Tool | Free plan | Paid pricing unit | Texts included | Mobile app |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Calendly | Yes | Per seat | 250 per seat a month | Yes |
| Cal.com | Yes | Per user | Email and SMS notifications on Free | Yes |

|---|---|
| YouCanBookMe Team | $16.20 |
| Calendly Teams | $16 |
| Cal.com Teams | $12 |
| Setmore Pro | $5 |
For solo buyers, entry prices sit close together. Billed yearly, YouCanBookMe Individual is $8.10 a month, Calendly Standard $10 a seat, Setmore Pro $5 a user and Acuity Scheduling Starter $16, while TidyCal Pro works out to $8.25 a month on its $99 yearly plan. Cal.com's paid tier is for teams. Beyond price, a few structural rules separate the field:
- Calendar connections: YouCanBookMe allows 1, 2, 6 or 10 per user; Calendly allows 1 on Free and 6 on paid plans; TidyCal allows 1, 10 or unlimited; SavvyCal and Cal.com Free list unlimited calendars.
- Round robin: YouCanBookMe puts it on Team, with three modes; Calendly and Cal.com put it on Teams; TidyCal on Agency Lifetime and Pro; Zoho Bookings offers four methods.
- API: YouCanBookMe needs Team; Calendly works on every plan, with published rate limits; Acuity Scheduling needs Premium; Setmore needs Pro; SavvyCal includes an API and webhooks on Basic.
- Custom domains: TidyCal Pro and SavvyCal Premium offer them, and Cal.com Organizations offers a company subdomain. YouCanBookMe never does.
Several rivals price per user, while YouCanBookMe sizes plans by calendars and pages. Compare on your headcount and calendar count, not the headline number.
Calendly: the closest all-round match
Calendly is the best-known scheduler and the closest match to YouCanBookMe's feature set. Its free plan covers one event type and one calendar, with no payments. Paid seats add automations, payments through Stripe or PayPal, packages, invoices, round robin and AI notes, and there is a mobile app. Standard is $10 a seat a month billed annually or $12 monthly, and Teams is $16 or $20. Standard Plus and Teams Plus add AI features, and Enterprise starts at $15,000 a year.
Where Calendly wins
Included texts are the big one: 250 SMS credits per seat each month on paid plans. Valued at YouCanBookMe's own rate of seven cents a text, those credits are worth $17.50 per seat every month, or $210 a year, our arithmetic. That is more than the whole difference between the two tools' team prices. Calendly also takes PayPal, sells packages, publishes API limits and offers 24/7 support by chat or ticket. Its AI Notetaker and Callie have no YouCanBookMe equivalent, and for sales teams it leads on routing, with Salesforce lookup on Enterprise.
Where YouCanBookMe still wins
YouCanBookMe gives more control over the booking page: themes, backgrounds, password protection and approval-required bookings. Its free plan takes Stripe payments, which Calendly Free does not. It checks 10 calendars per user on Team, offers two-year billing and publishes a WCAG 2.2 AA statement. That control matters most when the booking page is a client's first impression. Our YouCanBookMe vs Calendly comparison goes through the rest feature by feature.
Cal.com: the most generous free plan
Cal.com's free plan for individuals has no usage limits [3]. It includes unlimited event types and calendars, email and SMS notifications, 100+ app integrations, a mobile app, a browser extension, Stripe and PayPal payments and two-way Salesforce and HubSpot sync. That is far more than YouCanBookMe Free. For a solo YouCanBookMe user paying for reminders and payments, Cal.com Free covers both at no cost. Test the booking page design before switching.
Teams costs $12 per user a month on yearly billing, a 25% saving, and Organizations costs $28 per user a month on yearly billing. Enterprise is custom, and paid plans come with a 14-day free trial. On yearly billing a Cal.com Teams user costs $144 a year against $194.40 for a YouCanBookMe Team member, our arithmetic, so a ten-person team would save $504 a year by switching. Teams get round robin, collective events, recurring events and routing forms. Organizations lists SOC 2, HIPAA and ISO 27001 compliance, SAML SSO and a company subdomain, which gives teams that need HIPAA something YouCanBookMe never offers.
TidyCal: pay once, skip the subscription
TidyCal is the budget pick for people who dislike subscriptions, and the only tool here sold as a lifetime license, through AppSumo. Its free plan includes unlimited bookings, unlimited booking types, paid bookings, recurring and package bookings and your own booking page. The Individual Lifetime license costs $29 once and adds automatic Zoom, Meet and Teams links, group bookings, an AI booking assistant and 10 calendar connections. Agency Lifetime costs $79 once and adds round robin, collective meetings and 10 SMS reminders a month. It fits solo users and small agencies that want low lifetime cost.
The lifetime license changes the math for solo users. The $29 Individual Lifetime deal costs $68.20 less than one year of YouCanBookMe Individual billed yearly, our arithmetic. Pro costs $12 a month, or $99 a year billed annually, and adds unlimited calendar connections, a custom domain and no branding. Watch the platform fee. TidyCal charges 1% on Stripe payments on its Free and Lifetime plans, while Pro has none and YouCanBookMe charges its 1% on every plan. That makes TidyCal Pro the only plan here with neither a platform fee nor a per-seat charge for a solo user, and at $99 a year it costs $41.40 less than YouCanBookMe Professional billed yearly, our arithmetic.
Setmore: the cheapest way to equip a staff team
Setmore's Free plan covers up to 4 users with unlimited appointments and payments. Pro adds unlimited users, SMS reminders and two-way calendar sync, and it includes 500 SMS credits per team member each month, where YouCanBookMe includes none. Setmore offers human support around the clock on every plan and mobile apps, takes Square, Stripe, PayPal and LawPay, and says it never takes a cut of payments. It also offers a HIPAA version, Setmore Health, with a signed BAA on Pro. What it lacks is round robin and YouCanBookMe's calendar logic.
Pro is $5 per user a month billed annually or $12 monthly. Ten users on annual billing cost $600 a year, our arithmetic, against $1,944 a year for ten YouCanBookMe Team members on yearly billing. At five staff the difference is already $672 a year, $300 for Setmore Pro against $972 for YouCanBookMe Team, and Setmore's price includes 500 texts per member each month while YouCanBookMe sells every text separately. For staff teams, the gap is large. Salons, clinics, tutors and other service businesses with several staff fit Setmore best.
Acuity Scheduling: for clinics and client businesses
Acuity Scheduling is built for businesses that book clients, such as salons, therapists and trainers. It offers intake forms, memberships and packages, gift certificates, a waitlist and payments through Stripe, Square or PayPal. There is no free plan. It is priced per account: Starter is $16 a month billed annually or $20 monthly, Standard $27 or $34, and Premium $49 or $61, and the free trial lasts 7 days for standalone accounts. Text reminders come with Standard and higher at no extra fee per text.
The decisive feature is compliance. Acuity Scheduling offers a signed Business Associate Agreement for HIPAA compliance [4], the single biggest reason for a health business to choose it over YouCanBookMe, which cannot claim HIPAA compliance. Starter billed annually costs $192 a year, $51.60 more than YouCanBookMe Professional, our arithmetic, but Starter sends one reminder email and no texts. The comparison usually ends at Standard for any practice that wants text reminders. Consultants who only need a meeting link will find it heavier than YouCanBookMe.
YouCanBookMe and Calendly do not support HIPAA. Start with Acuity Scheduling or Setmore Health, which offer a signed BAA.
Three more worth a look, and one footnote
SavvyCal: built around time defense
SavvyCal focuses on time defense, with optimized and ranked availability, time blocking and frequency limits. Every plan includes unlimited calendars, links and teams, with collective, round robin and group modes. Basic includes meeting polls, workflows, Zapier, an API and webhooks, and Premium adds custom domains, paid bookings and branding removal, both priced per user. You can try it free and pay when you activate, with a 30-day money-back guarantee; we could not confirm its prices by billing period from the page text. Its clearest edge is calendars. Unlimited connections on every plan beat YouCanBookMe's 2 or 6, which removes the main reason a consultant juggling client and personal calendars moves from Individual to Professional.
Zoho Bookings: inside the Zoho suite
Zoho Bookings is free for one user and priced per user above that. Basic is $6 per user a month billed yearly or $8 monthly, and Premium $9 or $12, with yearly billing saving over 25%. Premium adds online payments and integrations for multi-location teams. It offers four round robin methods, routing forms, a mobile app, and a customer portal and recurring one-on-one bookings, which fill two gaps in YouCanBookMe. Its booking pages offer less visual control. A Basic user billed yearly costs $72 a year, less than half of YouCanBookMe Professional's $140.40, our arithmetic. Teams already on Zoho CRM or Zoho One get the most from it.
SimplyBook.me: plans sized by bookings
SimplyBook.me sizes plans by bookings and providers. The free plan includes 50 bookings and one provider. Basic is $11.90 a month billed annually or $13.90 monthly, with 100 bookings and 5 providers; Standard is $24.90 or $29.90, with 500 bookings and 15 providers; Premium is $49.90 or $59.90, and annual billing saves 17%. It offers a booking website, admin and client apps, payments with deposits and tips and a point-of-sale option, and its pricing page lists HIPAA and SAML SSO among Standard plan options. Basic billed annually comes to $142.80 a year, almost exactly the price of YouCanBookMe Professional, our arithmetic. The booking caps suit a small studio better than a busy advisor.
Microsoft Bookings
For teams on Microsoft 365, Bookings comes with the suite. YouCanBookMe's own comparison says it has no standalone free plan and is bought through Microsoft 365 business plans; that detail comes from YouCanBookMe's page, not from Microsoft. It suits internal Microsoft shops more than client-facing businesses, and for university departments already on Zoho or Microsoft, those suites may be cheaper than a separate scheduler.
Which alternative fits which buyer
On free plans alone, the field is wide. YouCanBookMe Free gives one calendar and one page with payments, Calendly Free one event type and no payments, Cal.com Free unlimited event types and calendars, TidyCal Free unlimited booking types, and Setmore Free covers 4 users. Acuity Scheduling has none. If you need more than one calendar or event type for free, Cal.com and TidyCal offer far more, while YouCanBookMe Free is the stronger choice only if you want Stripe payments with a single page. Beyond free plans, the fit looks like this:
- Solo professionals: Cal.com Free covers most solo needs at no cost, and TidyCal Lifetime suits those who want to pay once. Choose YouCanBookMe Individual or Professional if booking-page design and calendar rules matter most.
- Small teams: Calendly Teams and YouCanBookMe Team cost about the same, and Calendly adds included texts and a mobile app. For five people on yearly billing, Calendly Teams costs $960 and YouCanBookMe Team $972, our arithmetic. Cal.com Teams costs less per user, and Setmore is cheapest for staff who need little more than booking.
- Sales teams: Calendly leads, with routing, Salesforce lookup on Enterprise and AI notes. Cal.com offers routing forms on Teams and Salesforce sync on Free. YouCanBookMe works for small HubSpot teams.
- Clinics and therapists: Acuity Scheduling, with its signed BAA, intake forms and packages, is the natural choice, and Setmore Health is the cheaper HIPAA option. YouCanBookMe and Calendly do not support HIPAA, so YouCanBookMe should not hold health data.
- Education: YouCanBookMe remains strong for universities, with a 30% educator discount, a VPAT and a parent-teacher plan. Cal.com lists education among its use cases.
- Coaches: Calendly and TidyCal both sell packages, and Acuity Scheduling adds memberships. YouCanBookMe suits coaches selling single sessions with add-ons.
- Tight budgets: Cal.com Free and Setmore Free cost nothing and do more than most free plans. TidyCal's $29 one-time license is the cheapest paid option.
When to stay, and how to switch cleanly
Stay with YouCanBookMe if you rely on its calendar rules, approval-required bookings, password-protected pages, polls with payments on Free or the WCAG 2.2 AA statement, or if two-year billing suits you. Its reviewers rate it highly on G2. Staying also avoids switching costs that rarely appear in comparisons, such as rebuilding every booking page, retraining staff and updating links that clients have saved. A working setup should be replaced only for a clear gain.
How to switch without losing bookings
- Export bookings to CSV first; exports need Professional or Team.
- Rebuild appointment types and questions in the new tool.
- Reconnect calendars and video.
- Downgrade YouCanBookMe to Free rather than deleting it, so old links keep working.
- Keep both tools live for at least one full booking cycle, and cancel the old subscription only once no bookings have arrived through it for several weeks.

Check texts, payments, HIPAA and apps first, because they decide the switch more than list prices do.
