The short answer: one flat bill against a bill per seat
Sendible and Sprout Social both schedule posts, collect messages and build reports, but they are built for different buyers. Sendible sells plans with unlimited users, so the bill follows the number of brands you run, not the number of people who log in. Sprout Social sells seats, and every person who works in it adds a full plan price. That single difference decides most comparisons before features enter the picture. Sprout is the deeper product. Sprout's Smart Inbox, customer care tools, listening, analytics add-ons, AI agent, documented API and security certificates go well beyond the other side. Sendible answers with workspaces, client approvals by email and a price that barely moves as a team grows.
So the question is not which tool is better in the abstract. It is whether your team needs Sprout's depth enough to pay for it once per person. For an agency, a franchise or a small marketing team with many reviewers and modest care needs, Sendible usually wins on cost by a wide margin. For a brand that answers customers on social all day, wants listening and needs a vendor with named compliance certificates, Sprout earns its price. The rest of this page shows where that line falls.
How the two price models work
Sendible has five plans, each priced for the whole account. Sendible moved to these workspace plans in August 2026 and is rolling them out progressively; some help pages and older accounts still use the earlier per-user plans. Core costs $35 a month billed monthly, or $29.75 a month billed yearly, and Plus costs $99 a month billed monthly, or $84.15 a month billed yearly [1]. Growth is bought in workspaces, and each workspace holds six social profiles for one client, brand or location. Sprout Social has four published plans plus a quoted Enterprise tier, and each published price is per seat [2]. There is no free plan on either side. Sendible offers a 14-day trial with no card to start, and Sprout a 30-day trial without a card.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed yearly | What sets the size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sendible Core | $35 a month | $29.75 a month | 1 workspace, 6 profiles |
| Sendible Plus | $99 a month | $84.15 a month | 3 workspaces, 18 profiles |
| Sendible Premium | $199 a month | $169.15 a month | 7 workspaces, 42 profiles |
| Sendible Elite | $299 a month | $254.15 a month | 15 workspaces, 90 profiles |
| Sprout Social Essentials | $99 per seat a month | $79 per seat a month | 5 social profiles |
| Sprout Social Standard | $249 per seat a month | $199 per seat a month | 5 social profiles |
| Sprout Social Professional | $399 per seat a month | $299 per seat a month | Unlimited profiles |
| Sprout Social Advanced | $499 per seat a month | $399 per seat a month | Unlimited profiles |
List who works in the tool every day versus who only reviews or reads reports. A small daily core with many reviewers favors a flat plan; a large care team favors per-seat depth.
Every row in the table is a list price before any add-on. On one side of the table the price stays put as people join, and the plan you need depends on workspaces and on which features you must unlock. On the other side the price is multiplied by headcount, and the plan you need depends on features and on how many profiles you connect. Enterprise tiers sit outside the table on both sides. One is published at $750 a month billed monthly, the other is quoted through a demo, so neither belongs in a small-team budget.
What 3, 5 and 10 people really pay
Take a common case: a marketing team running one or two brands, where a junior drafts posts and a manager signs off before anything goes live. On Sendible that means Plus, the first plan with approvals, at $99 a month billed monthly whether three people log in or thirty. On Sprout Social, approval workflows arrive on Professional, which is also the first plan with unlimited profiles. Professional is the realistic Sprout plan for this team, and its price is multiplied by every seat.
By our arithmetic, three seats on Sprout Social Professional come to $1,197 a month billed monthly, or $897 a month billed annually, against Sendible Plus at $99 a month billed monthly or $84.15 billed yearly. Five seats on the same Sprout plan come to $1,995 a month billed monthly, or $1,495 a month billed annually. Ten seats reach $3,990 a month billed monthly, or $2,990 a month billed annually, which is $35,880 a year. Even if that ten-person team moves Sendible up to Premium for multi-step approvals and branded reports, the yearly bill is $2,029.80. The gap is large. It is not a rounding error.
Seats are not the whole story, though. On Advanced, up to three external approvers can review posts, so a client can sign off from outside the team on that plan. A Sendible team pays more when it adds brands (each extra workspace on Plus costs $30 a month billed monthly) or needs a feature from a higher plan, never for adding people. If your ten people each need Sprout's inbox, listening or analytics every day, the per-seat price buys real work. If most of them only draft, review or read reports, a flat plan is far cheaper.
Approvals: which plan you actually need
Approvals trip up more buyers than any other gate, so check them before you compare totals. On Sendible, Core lacks approvals entirely. Plus brings assignment and simple approvals, and Premium adds custom multi-step workflows. Reviewers can approve by email without a login, which suits clients who will never learn another dashboard, and since June 2026 the tasks view plays video so a reviewer can watch a clip before sign-off. Inside a workspace, clients can hold their own role to view and approve posts.
On Sprout Social, Essentials has no approvals, and approval workflows are listed among the features added on Professional. Advanced adds approvals with up to three external approvers, which is the closer match to a client signing off from outside the team. So recommend Plus or Premium on one side and Professional or Advanced on the other, never Core or Essentials, to any team that needs sign-off. That rule holds for both tools. A cheaper plan without approvals is not a saving if someone has to approve posts in a chat thread instead.
Sendible gives no refunds for prepayment or proration, and Sprout gives none on cancellation or downgrade, with annual contracts that renew automatically. Settle the plan during the trial.
Inbox and customer care: where Sprout pulls ahead
Sprout's Smart Inbox, available from Standard, pulls messages, comments, mentions and reviews into one stream. Advanced adds sentiment and spam detection, cases, chatbots, automated rules and connections to Salesforce Agentforce, Zendesk, HubSpot and Dynamics 365. WhatsApp is supported with 1,000 conversations a month included, then from $100 per 1,000, and saved replies start on Professional. That is a customer care desk, not just a comment feed. A brand that answers hundreds of messages a day will feel the difference.
Sendible's Priority Inbox is narrower. It gathers comments and messages from Facebook Pages, Instagram and LinkedIn pages, plus YouTube comments, scores them with a simple good-word versus bad-word sentiment ratio, and lags one to two hours because of that analysis [3]. It covers engagement within about four days of a post. It leaves out X, TikTok, Google Business Profile and personal LinkedIn, and Sendible's own pages disagree on Instagram direct messages, so confirm that before relying on it. Social Feeds show each profile in real time, without sentiment. For an agency replying to a moderate volume of comments, that is enough. For a support team, it is not.
Listening, analytics and reports
Listening is a clear divide. Sprout sells it as an add-on through sales on any plan from Standard, with topics, sentiment, Smart Categories, spike alerts and 30 days of automatic backfill, and it is not available during the trial. Sendible removed its X monitoring and live search in late 2023 after X closed its data endpoints, and while some of its pages still list a Listening feature in the menu, that link now leads back to the homepage; mentions reach Sendible only through its inbox on the networks it supports. Sprout wins this round outright. Teams that track their brand across the open web should treat Sprout as the only real candidate of the two.
Reporting is closer than the price gap suggests. Sendible offers quick reports on every plan and Google Analytics 4, while custom branded reports of up to 30 modules come through its Report Hub from Premium, and scheduled report emails apply to those custom reports only. Data is kept for 90 days as standard, and there is no Google Business Profile reporting. Sprout provides profile and post reports on every plan, with competitor, tag and paid reports among the features of Professional, team and care reports on Advanced, and a Premium Analytics add-on for custom reports, drilldowns and custom metrics. Sprout's reporting goes deeper; Sendible's is built to send to clients. Neither add-on on the Sprout side has a published price.
AI, the API and automation
Sendible's AI Assist is built on OpenAI, writes text only and has no usage limit, but it lives only in the main Compose box. It does not draft inbox replies or create images. The Terms, updated in March 2026, say customers own AI content and customer data is not used to train public AI models. Sprout goes much further with Trellis, an AI agent that comes with 100 credits per seat a month, plus Trellis Studio (a limited release to select customers) and AI Assist features that enhance posts on Professional and replies on Advanced. Trellis Plus costs $28 per user a month billed annually or $35 billed monthly, for 1,000 credits a month under a fair-use cap.
Read Sprout's AI Features Terms before you rely on its AI: the OpenAI integration is on by default, and an Account Owner can turn it off. Dated July 2026, they let Sprout train its own AI features on customer inputs and outputs, during and after the contract term, while its AI providers may not, and we found no opt-out on that page. Sendible's Terms read differently. Conversation summaries run on Claude hosted in Sprout's AWS environment, alt text comes through OpenAI, and inbound message translation goes through Google Translate. Sprout supports its MCP server for ChatGPT only, on Professional and above per the newer help page; Claude and other assistants are not supported or documented. For a legal or compliance team, the training clause may matter more than any feature list. Ask before you sign.
On the developer side, Sprout's public API comes with Advanced, for users the Account Owner grants the API Permissions permission, at 60 requests a minute and 250,000 a month. It creates posts only as drafts and returns no paid, competitor or X Listening data; X analytics data is available once a user with API Permissions accepts the X Content EULA and X approves the use case. Sendible describes API access for software partners and large organizations but publishes no API documentation on its site or help center, and we found no MCP server. Its automation route is Zapier, in beta since January 2026, which creates posts from apps such as Airtable, Notion and Monday. If your stack depends on a documented API, the choice is made.
Agencies and multi-brand teams
This is where Sendible was built to win. Here the flat price shines. Each workspace keeps one client's profiles, messages, reports and queues apart, and Client Connect lets a client link their own accounts through a secure link without sharing passwords. Premium adds content libraries and campaigns, and Elite adds dynamic fields that drop a location name or city into one bulk post. White label is a paid option on Elite and Enterprise only: Elite with white label costs from $349 a month in total, per the pricing FAQ, $50 above the Elite plan price rather than an add-on on top of it. An agency with ten clients can run them all on one flat plan with unlimited logins for staff and client reviewers.
Sprout handles many brands through unlimited profiles on Professional and Advanced, and it covers more networks for publishing, including Reddit and Snapchat, with scheduling up to 13 months ahead and, from Professional, bulk scheduling of up to 350 posts. Its costs scale with the agency's staff, though, not its client list. That suits an in-house team at a large brand better than a ten-person agency. Two details matter for daily work: Sprout cannot edit a post once it is published, and Instagram profiles connected through Meta need reauthorization every 90 days.
Approvals start on Sendible Plus and on Sprout Social Professional. Price those plans, not the entry plans, if anyone signs off on posts.
Security, trials and contracts
Sprout lists SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and CSA STAR Level 1, makes multifactor authentication mandatory since April 15, 2025, and offers SAML single sign-on with SCIM. Servers sit in the US and the EEA. For a buyer whose procurement team asks for certificates, that list settles a lot. Sprout leads here. Sendible hosts on AWS servers in the US under standard contractual clauses, lets admins restrict logins to specific IP addresses and offers single sign-on on Enterprise. No SOC 2 or ISO certificate is named on Sendible's site or help center, so ask its sales team directly if you need one.
Contract terms are strict on both sides. Sendible gives no refunds for prepayment or proration, and a cancelled plan keeps working until the day before the paid period ends [4]. Its trial asks for a credit card at the end, and you cannot add extra users or profiles to the subscription during the two weeks. Sprout's annual plans all renew automatically: those paid upfront in the app are cancelled in the billing page before the renewal date, while annual plans paid monthly and invoiced plans need 30 days' notice by email. Sprout gives no refunds on cancellation or downgrade. Sprout's trial is longer, but listening is switched off during it. Test before you prepay. On mobile, Sprout offers iOS and Android apps, while we could not find a current Sendible app in the App Store or Google Play.
What users say, and who should pick which
Sendible's reviews are warm on the large software review platforms and cooler on TrustRadius, which is the one site where its standing looks merely average. On Trustpilot, where it has few reviews, its low-star complaints cluster around billing, refunds, support and cancellation. Those themes fit the strict refund rules above. Read reviews as a map of what goes wrong, not as a trend. For Sprout's side in detail, see our Sprout Social review.
Pick Sendible if you run several brands, clients or locations, need approvals from people who will not log in every day, and want a bill that does not grow with headcount. It suits agencies, franchises and small teams with light inbox traffic. Pick Sprout Social if your team handles customer care at volume, wants listening, needs a documented API or CRM connections, or must show certificates to procurement. Then budget per seat, starting on Professional if anyone approves posts. Our Sprout Social pricing guide and Sendible pricing guide work through the plan math.
Frequently asked questions
Is Sendible cheaper than Sprout Social?+
For most teams, yes. Sendible prices each plan for unlimited users, while Sprout Social multiplies every plan by the number of seats, so the gap grows with every person who needs access.
Which plans include approvals?+
On Sendible, simple approvals start on Plus and multi-step workflows on Premium; Core has none. On Sprout Social, approval workflows start on Professional, and Advanced adds up to three external approvers.
Does Sendible have social listening like Sprout Social?+
Not as a product we could find: some Sendible pages still list a Listening feature, but that link now leads to the homepage, and its X monitoring was removed in 2023. Sprout sells Listening as an add-on from Standard, through sales.
Which has the better inbox?+
Sprout Social. Its Smart Inbox, from Standard, covers messages, comments, mentions and reviews, with cases, chatbots and CRM connections on Advanced. Sendible's Priority Inbox covers Facebook Pages, Instagram and LinkedIn pages plus YouTube comments, lags one to two hours and leaves out X, TikTok, Google Business Profile and personal LinkedIn; its own pages disagree on Instagram direct messages.
Do Sendible and Sprout Social have free plans?+
Neither does. Sendible offers a 14-day trial with no card to start, and Sprout Social a 30-day trial without a card, with Listening unavailable during it.
Which is better for agencies?+
Usually Sendible: workspaces keep each client apart, Client Connect links client accounts without passwords, and reviewers approve by email from Plus up, with unlimited users on every plan.
The bottom line
Sendible and Sprout Social are not close substitutes. Sprout is the deeper platform, with a real care desk, listening, richer analytics, an AI agent, a documented API and named security certificates, and it charges for that depth on every seat. Sendible is the cost-efficient choice for teams whose work is publishing, client approvals and branded reports across many brands, with unlimited users on every plan. Count the people who truly need the tool every day. If that number is small and care is light, Sendible costs a fraction of the price. If care and listening are the job, Sprout is worth it.
