What SocialBee plugs into, and what it does not

SocialBee is a scheduler built around content categories, and its integrations follow that design. Almost every connection exists to get content into a category: automation platforms create posts, RSS feeds and a curation service import articles, Canva, Unsplash and GIPHY supply the visuals, and link shorteners tidy the URLs on the way out. Its help center lists four automation platforms (Zapier, Pabbly, Make and Boost.space), three design sources and seven URL shorteners [1]. What it lacks is a front door for developers. There is no public API and no n8n node, and we found no connection to AI assistants, so every custom workflow runs through someone else's automation tool.

Integration Type What it actually does
Zapier Automation One action, Create Post, into a chosen category and workspace; a profile can also post via Zapier (a Zap runs when content is shared)
Make Automation Create a Post, a Watch Post trigger and an API-call module
Pabbly Automation Create Post, plus a trigger when a post is shared
Boost.space Automation Create a Post, an API-call action and a post-shared trigger
Canva Design Imports finished designs; editing inside SocialBee ended
Unsplash and GIPHY Media Stock photos and GIFs inside the post editor
Bitly, Rebrandly and 5 others Links Short links set per category, with UTM tags
RSS feeds and Quuu Content Articles imported into categories
cPanel Hosting A strategy built in cPanel moves into a SocialBee trial
Pocket Content Ended on July 8, 2025

The cPanel entry reflects ownership. WebPros, the group behind cPanel and Plesk, bought SocialBee in August 2024. Inside cPanel, a hosting customer can generate a social strategy with SocialBee's AI and then start a 14-day SocialBee trial. Once profiles are connected, the posting schedule built in cPanel transfers across on its own. It is an on-ramp, not a daily tool. The cPanel page says only that all features are available during the trial; SocialBee's standard trial is Pro for 14 days without a card, after which the account locks until you choose a paid plan.

Watch out
Outages stop your automations

SocialBee's changelog reports an API outage that took down Zapier and Make, and missed posts from a later incident were not re-sent.

Zapier: one action, but the right one

Zapier is the integration SocialBee mentions most often, and it is narrower than many buyers expect. With SocialBee as the action step, the only action available is Create Post [2]. Within that single action, though, the fields are the ones that matter in SocialBee's model. The Zap picks the workspace, the content category, the posting time and an expiry, and it sets the new post as Approved or Draft. So a Zap does more than drop text into a queue. It decides when the post stops and whether a person sees it first.

Approved or Draft is the real decision

Approved posts are shared at their posting time, while drafts wait until someone approves them. For anything generated by another app, such as a form entry or a new product in a store feed, Draft is the safer choice. The Content Approval tab can be filtered by profile and by import source, and Zapier is one of the listed sources, so a reviewer can see exactly what the automation brought in. One more switch matters. An approved post is only shared if the profile toggle on the dashboard is set to running, so a paused profile quietly holds back everything a Zap sends to it.

When a Zap stops working

The most common fault has a documented fix. A 401 error from Zapier means the SocialBee account must be reconnected inside Zapier. That's it. If you need SocialBee to start a workflow when a post goes out, a profile's Posting Setup can be switched to post via Zapier, which runs a Zap each time content is shared; Make, Pabbly and Boost.space also document a post-shared trigger, covered below. Our Zapier review covers Zapier's own plans and limits. Older changelog posts describe using Zapier to publish to Instagram, a workaround SocialBee no longer needs.

💡
Toolkit tip
Send automated posts as Draft

Set Zaps and Make scenarios to create posts as Draft in a dedicated category. Drafts are not shared until approved; Content Approval can filter Zapier imports by source (Make posts by category or profile), and the approval system starts on Accelerate.

Make, Pabbly and Boost.space: where the triggers live

Make

Make gets the fullest treatment in SocialBee's help center. Its Create a Post action takes the workspace, social profiles, content category, text, a media URL, posting times, an expiration time and the approval status. A Watch Post trigger fires each time a post is scheduled and shared on SocialBee, which lets a scenario react to publishing. There is also a module that sends authenticated requests to the SocialBee API. SocialBee says that module is managed within Make and sends users to Make Support for help. It is not a public API. A 401 error in Make means the connection must be re-authorized.

Pabbly and Boost.space

Pabbly mirrors the Zapier pattern on the action side. Its only action event is Create Post, but it adds a trigger: SocialBee can start a Pabbly workflow each time a post is scheduled and shared. Boost.space, a no-code automation platform that SocialBee announced in its changelog, offers two actions, Create a Post and an API call, plus the same post-shared trigger. In practice the three platforms do one of two jobs. They push new posts into categories, or they react when a post has gone out. Make and Boost.space add an API-call module, which those platforms manage.

Webhooks and the Buffer route for custom publishing

SocialBee has one more outbound hook that rarely appears in comparisons. A custom webhook can serve as a posting route. After enabling the advanced posting setup in Workspace Settings, your webhook is activated each time a post is scheduled to be published. In plain terms, SocialBee hands the post to your own endpoint at its scheduled time, and your system decides what to do with it. That suits a developer who wants SocialBee's categories to feed a destination it does not publish to. It only goes one way. Still, it gets scheduled content out.

Zapier can fill the same role: a profile's Posting Setup can be switched to post via Zapier, so a Zap runs each time content is shared. The Buffer integration works on the same principle. With Buffer set as the posting route, the content and posting settings stay in SocialBee and only the publishing is done through your Buffer account. SocialBee originally used it for direct posting to Instagram. It now publishes to Instagram itself, so the help center says Buffer is no longer needed for that, though the integration remains available. Few teams will want two schedulers in a chain.

Content sources: RSS feeds, Quuu and the end of Pocket

How RSS feeds behave

RSS is the oldest and most useful content source in SocialBee. Each plan caps the number of sources: 10 on Bootstrap, 30 on Accelerate, and unlimited on Pro. Feeds are checked for new posts every hour. A new feed imports the latest 10 posts by default, up to 100, and you can import them to the top or the bottom of the category queue. A failed feed is retried after 60 minutes and again after 72 hours, and it pauses itself after 3 consecutive failed fetches until you resume it by hand. Comment feeds are not accepted, and YouTube feeds show only the 10 most recent videos.

The options that shape the post text are gated. The advanced RSS settings sit on Accelerate, Pro or higher. The Add as image option uses the page's preview image and is the default for Pinterest and Instagram, but it does not work for Facebook profiles. Expiry works on imported content too, so a feed of news items can age out instead of recycling forever. That matters in an evergreen tool. Otherwise stale news returns.

Quuu and Pocket

Quuu supplies curated content in over 500 categories, and SocialBee's pricing page still lists it among the integrations; Quuu also appears as a source filter in Content Approval. Pocket is gone. The integration stopped working on July 8, 2025, when Pocket shut down, and Pocket allowed exports until October 8, 2025. The pricing page still names Pocket in its feature list, so ignore that line. SocialBee's own browser extension, which once replaced the Pocket route for saving articles, was retired in March 2026 and is no longer supported.

⚠️
Watch out
Canva no longer edits inside

The old Canva integration that let you design inside SocialBee was retired. The new one imports finished designs only, and only in the New Post Editor.

Canva, Unsplash and GIPHY in the post editor

What changed with Canva

The Canva integration is the one most likely to surprise long-time users. SocialBee built its old integration on the Canva Button API, which let you create and edit designs without leaving SocialBee. Canva announced that API's retirement for December 31, 2025, and creating or editing designs inside SocialBee ends, leaving only imports from Canva [3]. Canva then extended support for a while. When the old integration was finally retired, the changelog warned that Canva could not be used in SocialBee until the new integration went live. Plan for designing in Canva itself.

The new integration connects your Canva account directly through OAuth from the post editor and imports JPG, PNG, PDF, PPTX, GIF and MP4 files. It works only in the New Post Editor. New or updated designs can take a few minutes to appear in SocialBee. Be patient. You can disconnect Canva from Workspace settings, and our Canva review covers Canva on its own.

Unsplash and GIPHY

Unsplash gives you copyright-free stock images inside the post editor, one click to add. GIPHY is more limited than it looks. GIFs are not available for Instagram (any profile type), Threads, Google Business Profile, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube or Bluesky. Where they do work, the help center lists a 15 MB limit on X and LinkedIn and 4 MB on Facebook. Check the network first.

SocialBee has its own shortener, sbee.link, plus seven integrations: Bitly, Rebrandly, Replug, Switchy, RocketLink, BL.INK and JotURL. The pricing page claims more than 10 shorteners, and the changelog once mentioned PixelMe, but the help center names seven, so plan around those. Connection methods differ. Bitly and Rebrandly connect through Workspace Settings and can be set as the default short link. BL.INK and RocketLink need an API token pasted in, Switchy needs an API key, and Replug and JotURL import your custom domains once connected.

The useful part is where the settings live. Link shortening and UTM parameters are set per category, with fields for medium, campaign, content, ref and term, and the UTM source can be tagged automatically per network. A blog category and a promotions category can therefore carry different campaign tags without anyone editing a link. Two caveats come from the help center. A new shortener only affects links added after it is set up, so older posts keep their old links. And shortening fails for sites that block iframes, which Replug, cited in SocialBee's help center, puts at 1-3 percent of popular sites.

💡
Toolkit tip
Put UTM tags on the category

Shortening and UTM parameters are set per category, so every link imported by RSS or Zapier after you set it up gets the right campaign tag without manual edits.

What is missing: API, n8n, MCP and white label

The gaps are easy to state. SocialBee has no public API, and its help center says a public API and more integrations are on the long-term roadmap with no timeline. There is no direct n8n integration either; SocialBee suggests Zapier, Make or Pabbly instead. We found no MCP server or ChatGPT/Claude connector on SocialBee's site or help center, nothing that lets those assistants read or schedule your posts, even though SocialBee's own Copilot runs on OpenAI's API inside the app. There is no white label, so the platform cannot be rebranded for clients, although ConciergeBee services can be resold.

Data going out is also manual. Content export is not self-service: support exports chosen categories to CSV when you email a request. Analytics export is a PDF on Pro and higher, one profile at a time. For a developer or an agency that wants to wire scheduling into its own systems, that is the decisive limit, and no plan removes it. For a small team that only needs posts flowing in from other apps, the four automation platforms cover most of the ground. Our SocialBee alternatives guide matches rivals to each of these gaps.

Three recipes built from documented behavior

A blog feed that ages out on its own

Create a category for your blog posts, add the blog's RSS feed as a content source, and choose whether new articles join the top or the bottom of the queue. Set an expiry on the category's imported posts so each article recycles for a fixed period and then archives instead of resurfacing forever. Add UTM tags and your default shortener in the category's URL settings, and every shared link carries the same campaign label. Keep an eye on the feed's status. After 3 failed fetches it pauses, and nothing new arrives until you resume it.

Outside content into a review queue

Point Zapier or Make at a dedicated category and set every new post to Draft. Reviewers then open Content Approval, filter by the Zapier source or by profile, and approve or delete. On Bootstrap there is no post approval system, so the formal approval flow starts on Accelerate, at $49 a month billed monthly or $490 a year billed annually. Drafts still hold posts back on any plan, because a draft is not shared until it is approved. A second reviewer needs extra users or Pro.

A log of everything that went out

Use the Watch Post trigger in Make, or the post-shared trigger in Pabbly or Boost.space, and send each shared post to another app your team already checks. That gives a running record outside SocialBee, which helps because analytics history is capped by plan and content export goes through support. It also gives you an early warning. When the log goes quiet on a day that should be busy, check the queue before your audience notices.

When integrations break: the outage record

SocialBee's changelog is candid about failures, and several of them hit integrations directly. The SocialBee API was down from July 18 at 08:46 UTC to July 20 at 05:46 UTC [4] (the changelog post gives no year), about 45 hours by our arithmetic, and the mobile app, Zapier and Make were all affected. A separate DNS incident caused intermittent disruptions to the mobile app, Analytics, Engage and external integrations, with Zapier, Pabbly and Make named. RSS and import background processes have also had a degraded-performance incident, with some import tasks failing.

The posting side matters too. After an outage on July 27 and 28 (again, the changelog post gives no year), about 12 hours of scheduled posts were not published, and SocialBee said they would not be sent retroactively; users had to recreate or reschedule them. Nothing catches up by itself. Build that into your habits: read the changelog when posts look thin, check the Failed Posts tab after any incident notice, and reconnect Zapier or Make if they start returning 401 errors. For a launch that cannot slip, do not rely on an automation alone.

How rivals handle API and MCP

The gap shows most clearly next to rivals. Buffer offers a GraphQL API with API keys or OAuth, an official MCP server and a command-line tool, and Buffer gives API access with 1 key and 3,000 requests per 30 days even without paying; it has no webhooks, though. Metricool ships an official MCP server that works on every plan including Free, with Claude and ChatGPT connectors (its manual ChatGPT connection to the newer MCP version is described for paid accounts), while its REST API, Zapier and Make connections need Advanced or Custom. RecurPost says it has an official MCP server with 10 tools and a verified n8n community node. We found none of that in SocialBee today. If your automation stops at sending posts into categories, that hardly matters.

Frequently asked questions

Does SocialBee have a public API?+

No. Its help center says a public API is on the long-term roadmap without a timeline, and it suggests Zapier, Make or Pabbly instead.

What can the SocialBee Zapier integration do?+

SocialBee offers one Zapier action, Create Post. The Zap chooses the workspace, category, posting time and expiry, and sets the post as Approved or Draft. A profile's Posting Setup can also be switched to post via Zapier, so a Zap runs each time content is shared.

Does SocialBee work with n8n, ChatGPT or Claude?+

No. There is no direct n8n integration, and we found no MCP server or ChatGPT/Claude connector on SocialBee's site or help center.

Can I still design in Canva inside SocialBee?+

No. Editing designs inside SocialBee ended with the retirement of the Canva Button API. The new integration imports JPG, PNG, PDF, PPTX, GIF and MP4 files from your Canva account.

Which URL shorteners does SocialBee support?+

Its own sbee.link plus Bitly, Rebrandly, Replug, Switchy, RocketLink, BL.INK and JotURL, set per content category with UTM parameters.

Does SocialBee support webhooks?+

Yes, as a posting route. After enabling the advanced posting setup in Workspace Settings, a custom webhook fires each time a post is scheduled to be published.

The bottom line

SocialBee's integrations are built to feed its categories, and at that job they work. Zapier, Make and Boost.space can create posts with the right category, expiry and approval status, Pabbly creates posts too, RSS feeds keep a blog flowing, and shorteners with per-category UTM tags keep links tidy. Canva now only imports, Pocket is gone, and the outage record shows integrations stall when SocialBee's own API does. The hard limit is the missing public API and n8n node, and we found no MCP connection either. Teams that want to script or ask an AI assistant to run their scheduling should look at Buffer, Metricool or RecurPost; everyone else will find SocialBee's set sufficient.
