The verdict, in one line

Ubersuggest is the cheapest serious way into SEO data in 2026. Neil Patel's tool covers keyword research, traffic analytics, a site audit, backlinks, rank tracking and, since September 2025, tracking of how brands appear in AI answers. Individual costs $29 a month, $192 a year or $290 once [1], and its connections to ChatGPT and Claude go further than anything else in its price band. The catch is in the details. Rankings update weekly, backlink data is rented from Moz, there is no public API, and the refund terms are strict. Good value. Not a power tool.

Ownership matters here too. Ubersuggest belongs to Neil Patel Digital, the agency behind NP Digital, and its Terms sit on neilpatel.com. The product pages double as marketing for the agency's services, and the agency's Trustpilot page mixes agency and tool reviews. Read the fine print with that in mind; much of what follows is exactly that.

Who it's for — and who should skip it

Ubersuggest fits beginners and small operators who want SEO data without a big bill. SEO Opportunities shows why. It turns audit findings into a ranked list of quick wins, content gaps and code fixes, sorted by impact and effort, so you get a backlog instead of a wall of errors. Experts may find it shallow.

Each plan has an obvious buyer. Individual suits solo bloggers and owners of one site who need keyword ideas, a weekly rank check and a basic audit. At about $16 a month billed yearly, it costs less than most tools' cheapest monthly plan. Business, the sweet spot, suits freelancers with two to seven sites or a two-person team: 7 projects, a second user, unlimited locations and AI tracking every two weeks for $49 a month, about $7 per site across seven small client sites. Enterprise/Agency suits small agencies with up to 15 client sites and 5 people, adding weekly AI refreshes, 300 tracked keywords per project and Pixel Rank Tracking for $99 a month, or $6.60 per project (our arithmetic).

Skip it if you need daily rankings, an API, white-label reports, a backlink index crawled in-house or SOC 2 paperwork. Each of those is a stated gap, not a guess. Power users will outgrow it. Beginners may never notice.

Toolkit tip
Test on the monthly trial

Only monthly plans have the 7-day trial; yearly and Lifetime have no trial and no refund. Set a reminder for day six.

What you pay: monthly, yearly or once

Ubersuggest is sold per account in three paid plans, plus a free account and a one-time Lifetime option. All prices are in US dollars per the vendor's pricing file:

Plan Monthly Yearly Lifetime (once)
Individual $29 $192 $290
Business $49 $326 $490
Enterprise/Agency $99 $657 $990

Yearly billing, the trial and the free account

Yearly billing is a single upfront charge. Twelve monthly payments would cost $348, $588 or $1,188, so the yearly plan saves $156, $262 or $531, which works out to roughly $16, $27.17 and $54.75 a month (our arithmetic). The trade is flexibility. Only monthly plans have the 7-day trial, which needs a valid card, and if you do not cancel inside the window the first month is charged and cannot be refunded. Yearly plans have no trial and are non-refundable under the Terms. Set a reminder for day six. Trustpilot complaints show why.

The free account is created on sign-up and has no time limit. It allows 3 searches or reports a day, 1 project and 25 tracked keywords with weekly desktop-only updates, while site audits crawl 150 pages weekly and backlink reports show 100 links per site. Enough to look. Not enough to work.

Lifetime: ten monthly payments, with strings

Lifetime costs $290, $490 or $990 once, which equals exactly ten monthly payments on the same tier, or about 1.5 years of yearly billing (our arithmetic). The help center calls Lifetime plans limited-time offers, and upgrades to a higher Lifetime tier charge only the difference. But Lifetime is not the same plan paid differently. Its AI prompts run on demand only, prompt ideas drop to 10 per search, Individual Lifetime gets 200 monthly credits instead of 250, and AI Search Visibility starts as a basic version with monthly updates. The home page says AI features are limited by design because they carry a recurring cost.

The Terms define Lifetime as lasting for as long as Ubersuggest exists, at the discretion of Neil Patel Digital, and they let the owner change features at its discretion. Lifetime subscriptions cannot be transferred, not even to another email you own, and Lifetime plans cannot be downgraded. Lifetime means the product's life, not yours.

⚠️
Watch out
Lifetime cuts the AI features

Lifetime plans run AI prompts on demand only, get fewer prompt ideas and credits, and cannot be refunded, transferred or downgraded.

Add-ons, credits and currency

Seven add-ons cost $5 a month each: 500 extra daily searches, a project, 250 tracked keywords, competitor domains, a user, AI prompts and 500 monthly credits. They bill monthly even on yearly and Lifetime plans and cannot be refunded. Plans include 250, 500 or 1,000 a month, spent when refreshing keyword data and AI responses, and a full Content Studio article takes 100. So Individual can generate at most two articles a month and still refresh a few keywords (our arithmetic). Finally, the live pricing page localizes prices by IP address and served euros to us from Europe, and the currency is locked in at checkout. Check it before you pay. Our Ubersuggest pricing guide runs the full plan math.

Keyword research and traffic data: the core

Keyword tools and their limits

Keyword research is the heart of the product: volume, CPC, SEO Difficulty and search intent for any keyword, with expansion across autocomplete, related terms, questions, prepositions and comparisons, drawn from what the home page calls a 2.2B+ keyword database. Searches per day scale by plan to 150, 300 or 900. That is the real limit. Keyword Ideas sorts suggestions into those five tabs, paid plans export them to PDF or CSV, and suggestions cap at 20,000, 50,000 or 100,000 a month. AI Keyword Overview adds an AI summary on top, useful for beginners, though experts will want the raw SERP too.

Two newer pieces round it out. AI Prompt Ideas lists prompts people type into AI assistants around a keyword, with intent filters, brands mentioned and top sources, at 25, 50 or 75 per search. It is still early. Bulk analysis scores 50, 200 or 1,000 keywords at a time by plan, although the feature guide still says up to 200 for everyone, which is only the Business figure. Neil Patel also owns AnswerThePublic, but the two are separate subscriptions, and Ubersuggest includes only a sample of it through Keyword Visualization. Do not buy one expecting the other.

Traffic estimates and competitor research

Traffic Overview estimates organic and paid traffic, top pages and keywords for any domain, rebuilt monthly from Google data. You can connect your own Google Analytics or Search Console for real numbers, and you should treat rival traffic as direction, not fact. The rebuild is heavy, at 19.94 terabytes per monthly overview, so the newest month may show no traffic data during the first six days of each month. Competitor analysis compares traffic, keywords and backlinks against rival domains and shows a keyword gap, with 5, 10 or 15 competitors per project and extra domains as a $5 add-on. Top Pages by Traffic and Similar Websites, capped at 2,000, 5,000 or 10,000 rows, are good for content audits.

Rank tracking went weekly

Rank tracking covers the top 100 results per keyword, desktop and mobile on paid plans. But updates are weekly on every plan, and the help center says it plainly: "Daily updates are no longer available" [2]. For a rank tracker, that is the single biggest limit in this review. The vendor blames Google's changes to how SERP data can be collected, which raised the cost of gathering it across the industry, and a status page updated in January 2026 says the team is exploring options to reintroduce daily tracking. No date. Plan on weekly.

Each project tracks 125, 150 or 300 keywords, which across all projects comes to 125, 1,050 or 4,500, since Business has 7 projects and Enterprise 15 (our arithmetic). Extra blocks of 250 keywords cost $5 a month, up to five per project. Tracking runs for a maximum of three years from a project's creation, then stops. Enterprise also gets Pixel Rank Tracking, in beta, which measures how far down the page a listing appears, so ads and AI Overviews that push a third place below the fold show up. Clever idea. Top plan only.

⚠️
Watch out
The home page still says daily

The home page still promises daily rank tracking, but rankings update weekly on every plan.

Site audit and the WordPress plugin

Site Audit crawls 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000 pages per project weekly and returns an SEO health score with issues ranked by priority. The home page says limits run up to 150,000 pages on the top plan, which matches 15 projects of 10,000 pages each (our arithmetic), so no single site gets 150,000. A WordPress plugin runs the audit inside wp-admin and applies AI fixes for missing meta descriptions, titles and H1s with a before-and-after preview. It works alongside Yoast SEO and Rank Math, and fixes stay in the database if you remove it. Each fix spends credits, and the cost shows first.

Backlinks come from Moz

Backlink reports show referring domains, anchor text, and new and lost links over 30 days, with 3 years of link history. The data is not Ubersuggest's own: "Our backlinks data is sourced exclusively from the MOZ API" [3]. So the index is Moz's index. Backlink Opportunities lists sites linking to your competitors but not to you, a ready prospect list for small outreach campaigns. The gaps are stated openly. There is no toxic-link scoring, no disavow-file workflow and no published backlink total. If link audits are your job, look elsewhere. Even Ubersuggest's own comparison page credits Ahrefs with an extensive backlink index.

The AI layer: visibility tracking, Content Studio and MCP

AI Search Visibility

AI Search Visibility tracks how often your brand appears in AI answers, with a visibility score, share of voice, the full answer for each prompt and per-platform sentiment. It launched in September 2025 and is included in monthly and yearly plans, with one project equal to one brand. Individual tracks 10 prompts per brand refreshed monthly, Business 15 every two weeks, and Enterprise 20 weekly with 3 responses per prompt. That tops out at 105 prompts across 7 brands on Business and 300 across 15 on Enterprise. Small samples. Changing keywords, industry or location also counts against a monthly edit limit.

Which engines it tracks is where the pages disagree. The home page FAQ says ChatGPT and Gemini on paid plans, plus Google AI Overview on Enterprise, and says Perplexity, Claude, Grok and Copilot are not tracked today. The pricing page lists ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overview with no split by plan. Yet the hero banner offers Perplexity in the trial. Ask support in writing which engines your plan covers.

Content Studio, AI Chat and the MCP server

Content Studio turns a keyword into a full article draft with an editor, title suggestions, a featured image and Markdown or PDF export, at 100 credits per article, and AI Writer word packs cost $9, $24 or $99 a month. Edit before you publish. AI Chat puts the reports behind one conversation and runs on the same MCP server, though the vendor warns that AI responses can be inaccurate. Verify numbers before acting.

The MCP server is the standout. It exposes all 42 SEO tools to AI assistants, across domain analysis, keyword research, backlinks, site audit, AI brand visibility, content and projects, and connects to Claude, Cursor, Windsurf and Codex over OAuth 2.0 with no API key. An official ChatGPT app runs the same 42 tools on web, mobile and desktop. The Claude plugin adds nine ready-made skills, such as an SEO action plan and a content brief, plus a background SEO strategist agent in Claude Code. Both work on a free account, and your plan changes how much data comes back, not which tools run. No rival in this price band offers more.

No public API

There is no API to script against. The pricing FAQ says no API access plans are available at the moment, and the help center says Ubersuggest supports neither APIs nor webhooks. MCP fills part of the gap. Developers still lose out.

💡
Toolkit tip
Ask about AI engines in writing

The vendor's pages disagree on which AI engines each plan tracks. Ask support by email before you pay, and keep the reply.

Teams, agencies, data and support

Individual has one user, Business two and Enterprise five, admin included, and extra seats cost $5 a month each. Invited users cannot edit projects, connect Google Analytics or Search Console, buy add-ons or receive email alerts, and their searches count against the admin's daily limit. Fine for pairs. Agencies should note what the home page says outright: there is no white-label reporting, no branded client portal, no account switcher and no SSO. Enterprise covers 15 projects and 5 users, with CSV and PDF exports for client reports. That suits a small agency. Branded deliverables need another tool.

Customer data is stored in the United States on AWS us-east-1, with no choice of region. The help center says Ubersuggest holds no publicly available SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certifications and does not share penetration test reports. Enterprise buyers will notice. Small sites will not. On the support side, paid plans include email support, a 20-hour step-by-step SEO course, templates and worksheets, plus monthly live Q&A sessions.

Refunds, cancellation and pages that disagree

The Terms, last updated May 20, 2024, are blunt: after the free trial, fees are non-refundable [4]. Annual and Lifetime plans have no trial and are non-refundable too. EU and UK customers keep a statutory 14-day cancellation right, from which a reasonable charge can be deducted, and Brazilian customers get 7 days. Elsewhere, assume no refund. After a self-serve cancellation, access runs to the end of the cycle. Then the account falls to Free, where rankings and historical data are removed and only the oldest project survives, with 25 keywords. Resubscribing does not bring lost data back. Export first.

The vendor's pages also contradict each other more than usual. Our dossier lists 8 contradictions and 22 outdated pages. The home page promises daily rank tracking while help articles say weekly. Older help pages give Lifetime 50 years, one upgrade article prices Lifetime at $499 and $999 in an example, and the changelog stops in November 2025. When pages disagree, trust the pricing file first.

What users say

On the review platforms, Ubersuggest lands in steady rather than stellar territory, and all four platforms we checked clear 30 reviews. Our own read of the 100 latest Trustpilot reviews explains the shape. Of those, 78 gave four or five stars, most often mentioning support (34 of 78), then price or value (13) and the Lifetime deal (12). The 21 one- and two-star reviews center on money: charges after a trial or cancellation (8 mention billing), support (8), Lifetime regrets (7), refused refunds (5) and cancellation trouble (5) (our count). The distribution is bimodal. Read both ends.

Ubersuggest next to Semrush, Ahrefs, Mangools and the daily trackers

Semrush SEO costs $139 a month or $117.33 a month billed annually, so the yearly gap is $1,407.96 against $192, a difference of $1,215.96 (our arithmetic). Semrush is the deeper suite; Ubersuggest is a fraction of the bill. Ahrefs Starter also costs $29 a month, but the two differ in kind, since Ubersuggest's own comparison page credits Ahrefs with an extensive backlink index while Ubersuggest buys its backlink data from Moz. Our Ubersuggest vs Ahrefs comparison goes deeper.

Mangools Basic costs $49 a month or $358.80 a year, which makes Ubersuggest $166.80 cheaper per year at entry level (our arithmetic), but Mangools Basic tracks 200 keywords to Ubersuggest Individual's 125. Cheaper, smaller. SE Ranking Core costs $129 a month with a 14-day trial that needs no card, and Serpstat Individual costs $50 a month billed annually. Both track rankings daily, and both cost more. If you check rankings every morning, Ubersuggest is the wrong tool.

How we score Ubersuggest

We checked this review against the vendor's own pages, help center, Terms and pricing file on 13 October 2026, and we read the 100 latest Trustpilot reviews ourselves. The composite weights eight axes. Value for money and the AI layer score highest. Capability is held back by weekly tracking and Moz backlink data, while support and reliability are held back by the refund terms and the data loss on cancellation.

That lands Ubersuggest at 3.6/5: excellent value and a genuinely strong AI layer, held back by weekly rankings, rented backlink data and strict refund terms.

The bottom line

Ubersuggest is the best price-per-feature entry point in SEO software in 2026, with AI integrations that most rivals charge far more for. It is also a tool whose rankings refresh weekly, whose backlink data is rented and whose refund terms are strict. Pick it if you run a handful of small sites and want keyword research, audits and AI visibility without a big bill. Skip it if you need daily rankings, an API or white-label reports. Buy monthly first and use the trial well: create a project, run an audit, connect Claude or ChatGPT, check that rankings updated once by day five, and decide on day six. Write down the currency before you pay.
