Wistia charges per account, not per seat. Business, the plan most teams need, costs $79 a month billed annually or $99 billed monthly, with 3 users, 250 GB of storage and 5,000 credits a month included.[1] Free costs $0 but keeps Wistia branding on the player and leaves out CTAs, forms, heatmaps and A/B tests. The real bill grows with extra users, storage blocks and AI credits, then jumps twice, for Signals and for webinars. Our verdict is simple. Buy Business on annual billing if you will keep it ten months or more.

Every current Wistia plan and its price

Wistia rebuilt its lineup on 17 March 2026. Current plans are sized by storage, while Pro, Advanced, Premium and Plus became legacy plans with media-count limits that new customers cannot buy. Many help and blog pages still use those old names, so treat any price quoted for a Pro or Advanced plan as outdated. Annual billing saves 20% on every self-serve paid plan, and Business comes with a 14-day trial that needs no card. Enterprise has no published price.

Plan Billed monthly Billed annually What it includes
Free $0 $0 25 GB, 1 user, 3,000 one-time credits, 200 GB bandwidth a month, branded player
Business $99 a month $79 a month 250 GB+, 3 users, 5,000 credits a month, 1 TB bandwidth a month, CTAs, forms, heatmaps, A/B tests
Business + Signals $412 a month $329 a month Business plus marketing-automation sync and lead scoring
Webinars $537 a month $429 a month Business and Signals, 500 attendees, 90-minute streams
Webinars Plus $1,037 a month $829 a month 1,000 attendees, 3-hour streams, simulcast, embedded webinars
Enterprise Quote Quote 1 TB+ storage, 12,500+ credits a month, 2 TB bandwidth a month, SSO, SCIM

Read the storage figure as a starting point. The plus sign after 250 GB means more can be bought, and Enterprise adds SAML single sign-on, SCIM with Okta and dubbing included. Bandwidth counts more than plays: player and thumbnail loads, internal views and downloads all draw on it, and an autoplaying thumbnail streams as soon as the page loads. On Free, embeds keep playing for a few days past the 200 GB monthly limit, then stop until the monthly reset. Paid plans pay overage instead.

What extra users, storage and bandwidth add

Users

Business includes 3 users, and a paid account can have up to 3 Account Owners (Free has one). Each extra user costs $25 a month on annual billing or $31.25 on monthly billing, while viewer contacts are non-billable. A six-person team on annual billing pays $154 a month, or $1,848 a year, by our arithmetic. The same team on monthly billing pays $192.75 a month. Per-account pricing helps most at three users. Beyond that, each person adds a flat monthly amount.

Storage

Storage beyond the plan is billed monthly in blocks, even when the plan itself is paid annually. Wistia sells 100 GB for $15 a month ($12 on annual billing), 250 GB for $31.25 ($25 annual) and 1 TB for $93.75 ($75 annual). Archived media still count toward storage. A 500 GB library on annual billing needs one 250 GB block on top of the included 250 GB, for $104 a month in total by our arithmetic. Three 100 GB blocks would cost $36 instead.

Bandwidth

Usage resets each billing month, and Wistia emails a warning when an account is on track to exceed its allowance. Paid plans are billed per-GB overage on the monthly billing date;[2] we did not find the per-GB rate on the pages we checked. The alternative is prepaid bandwidth, starting at $150 a month for an extra 1 TB ($280 a month for 2 TB, $390 for 3 TB), which only an Account Owner can manage. Try two cheap fixes first. Set viewer downloads to the SD MP4 file, and avoid looping autoplay thumbnails, which Wistia's usage guide calls a major bandwidth drain.

Toolkit tip
Pay annually only past ten months

Twelve months on annual billing cost $948, and ten monthly payments of $99 already pass that. Shorter projects should pay monthly.

Credits: where the AI work gets metered

Credits sit in one pooled balance. Business adds 5,000 a month that do not roll over, Free gets 3,000 once for the life of the account, and Enterprise is custom. Hosting and playback never spend credits, and automated transcripts at about 95% accuracy are free on every plan. On Business, dubbing and AI audio descriptions are an add-on (included on Enterprise, not on Free), and credits are spent per minute on top of it: 800 for dubbing, from 400 for AI audio descriptions and 1,000 for professional captions. A monthly grant of 5,000 credits covers about six minutes of dubbing.

Top-ups run from 4,000 credits for $25 one-time to 50,000 for $250 one-time and expire after 12 months, while credit subscriptions run from 5,000 a month for $22.50 to 250,000 a month for $906.25. Dubbing one 10-minute video into one language takes 8,000 credits, 3,000 more than the monthly grant, so one top-up of 4,000 covers it. The first dub of a video up to 15 minutes is a free test on paid accounts, though. Dubbing, audio descriptions and transcription cannot be cancelled once started. Our guide to Wistia AI covers which jobs earn their credits.

Trim bandwidth before buying more

Set viewer downloads to the SD MP4 file, since downloads draw on monthly bandwidth. Wistia's usage guide also calls looping autoplay thumbnails a major bandwidth drain.

Signals and webinars: the two big jumps

Business does not sync engagement data to a marketing platform. That needs Signals, which writes viewing data to contact records in HubSpot, Adobe Marketo Engage and Pardot, syncs with Eloqua, Klaviyo and ActiveCampaign, and adds lead scoring, triggered nurtures, sales alerts and pipeline attribution. Business + Signals costs $329 a month billed annually or $412 billed monthly, although the monthly view routes you to sales. That is a step of $250 a month on annual billing, or $3,000 a year, by our arithmetic.

Webinars are separate plans, not a toggle. Webinars costs $429 a month billed annually or $537 billed monthly and includes Business, Signals, 500 attendees per event, 90-minute streams and up to 9 presenters.[3] Webinars Plus costs $829 a month billed annually or $1,037 billed monthly for 1,000 attendees, 3-hour streams, embedded webinars, webinar series, RTMP ingest and unbranded webinars. If you already need Signals, the webinar stack adds $100 a month on annual billing. Hosts need a desktop Chromium browser such as Chrome or Edge.

When the bigger webinar plan pays for itself

Going over a limit does not cut the event off. Extra attendees are billed after the event at $0.20 each, and extra minutes are billed after the event at $2.00 each. Recording still hard-stops at 4.5 hours, and events expecting more than 2,500 attendees must contact Wistia first. One 1,000-person event on the smaller plan adds $100 in attendee overage, and running it for three hours adds $180 more. Our Wistia webinars guide covers the setup.

On annual billing the larger plan costs $400 a month extra. It ties at four 1,000-person events a month and wins from the fifth, or from the second event that also runs three hours. On monthly billing the gap is $500: a tie at five such events, or a win from the second long one. Simulcast and embedded webinars can justify it sooner, since the smaller plan has neither at any price.

⚠️
Watch out
Signals is not in Business

Business alone does not sync engagement data to HubSpot, Marketo or Pardot. That needs Business + Signals at $329 a month billed annually, or one of the Webinars plans.

Billing rules that cost money if you miss them

Annual billing saves 20%, but nothing comes back if you leave. Twelve months cost $948 on annual billing against $1,188 on monthly billing, a $240 saving by our arithmetic. Cancellations, downgrades and unused time are never refunded,[4] so the annual plan only wins if you keep it at least ten months. Nine monthly payments total $891. Ten total $990.

Plans renew automatically, and the Terms ask for notice at least 2 months before the term ends to stop auto-renewal. Only the Account Owner can cancel, at once or at the end of the cycle; Enterprise accounts go through their Customer Success Manager. Billing cannot be paused. A paid account cannot drop to Free until storage is under 25 GB, media becomes inaccessible after cancelling, and a final charge for extra usage can still arrive. Export first. US billing addresses may pay state and local sales tax.

Which Wistia plan to buy

Free fits one person testing the player with under 25 GB of video who accepts the branding and no lead capture. Its bandwidth cutoff rules it out for any page that matters. Developers who only need hosting behind their own app should look at the Developer plan, which is free until 25 GB of storage or 200 GB of bandwidth and then charges a $25 monthly platform fee plus usage. That usage runs $0.05 per GB of storage a month and $0.08 per GB of bandwidth used, billed monthly, in the first tiers.

Business is the default for marketing teams of three to about six people who need CTAs, forms, heatmaps, A/B tests and no player branding. Buy it annually unless the project ends inside ten months. Move to Business + Signals only when engagement must reach your marketing automation, and go straight to Webinars if you also plan webinars. Webinars Plus suits large or long events and simulcasting. Enterprise is for SSO, SCIM and dubbing included in the plan.

Vimeo prices per seat instead: Standard is $25 a seat a month billed annually or $41 billed monthly, with 5 seats included, and its pricing page does not show the checkout total, so confirm it at checkout. Wistia Business is $79 a month per account for 3 users, plus $25 a month per extra user on annual billing. Vimeo also refunds a first annual purchase within 14 days, while Wistia refunds nothing. The plans are not feature twins, so price alone should not decide. Our Vimeo vs Wistia breakdown compares what each includes.

Frequently asked questions

I am on a Pro, Advanced or Premium plan. What happens to me?+

Accounts that signed up before 17 March 2026 and have not upgraded stay on their Legacy plan with media-count limits. Legacy plans cannot buy extra bandwidth through the self-service tool.

Who can see and change the Wistia bill?+

Only Account Owners can change billing, change plans and cancel; Managers cannot see statements. A billing contact can receive receipts and late-payment notices without a Wistia login.

What happens if a Wistia payment fails?+

After repeated failed payments and a warning email, the account is cancelled. Content is kept, but embedded media stops playing, analytics stop counting and only Account Owners can still sign in.

Can an agency bill several client accounts together?+

Only on Enterprise or a legacy Premium plan. There, Team Accounts are bought through a Customer Success Manager and all of them are billed to the primary account, with a bandwidth graph per account to help bill clients back.

The bottom line

Wistia is priced for marketing teams, and the sticker price is only the base. Business on annual billing is the right buy for most teams of three to six that will stay at least ten months, since nothing is refunded. Budget separately for extra users, storage blocks and credits if you dub video. Treat Signals and the webinar plans as deliberate upgrades: they carry the lead-scoring and event features that justify the jump, and the overage math decides between the two webinar tiers.
