Test it free before you spend anything
Mangools is easy to buy, and it is only hard to misjudge if you check a few limits first. Every answer below comes from Mangools' own pages as of October 12, 2026. The first check costs nothing. The Free plan has no time limit and needs no card, so run your real keywords through KWFinder before paying anything. If the interface does not click, no plan will fix it. New accounts also get Free+ for ten days, and those ten days are the closest thing Mangools offers to a full trial, so plan them rather than letting them run out unused. Our guide to what Mangools gives away free covers the free tier in depth.
- Use the free plan on real work. Put the keywords you actually care about through KWFinder, not demo terms.
- Plan your ten days of Free+. It tracks 50 keywords daily, so add your money keywords on day one and watch how SERPWatcher behaves.
- Try the free mini tools. The location changer, SERP simulator, Reddit Threads Finder and SEO Content Optimizer cost nothing, and some needs end there.
- Install the browser extension. The free extension for Chrome and Firefox shows on-page data such as heading structure and loading metrics from Chrome users while you browse. It may cover your quick checks.
- Ask your hardest questions now. Live chat and email support are offered, reviewers praise them often, and the home page says support speaks SEO. Use them during Free+.
Count every keyword, location and device combination before choosing a plan. Mobile and desktop are separate trackings.
Know the price, the currency and the discounts
Mangools sells three plans, and prices are per account, not per user; our Mangools pricing guide has the full math. Basic is US$49, Premium US$69 and Agency US$129 a month, or US$358.80, US$538.80 and US$1,078.80 a year [1]. By our arithmetic, annual billing saves 39% on Basic, 35% on Premium and 30% on Agency. Pages that still promise 44% are out of date. Pay annually only after a month of use, or after Free+. A blogger who pays monthly for one month to test and then switches to annual Basic spends US$49 plus US$358.80, or US$407.80 in the first year, still well below twelve monthly payments of US$588.
- Check the currency at checkout. The plan data returns US dollars to US visitors; our European server got euros. A wrong region can change the bill.
- Weigh the 10% first-hour offer. New users get 10% off if they subscribe within an hour of registering. On annual Basic that is about US$35.88. Do not let it rush the decision; the free plan lasts longer.
- Ask about course coupons. Mangools offers special coupons for SEO training courses, so teachers should ask before term starts. Few rivals offer this.
- Ask whether the Entry plan still exists. A US$19.90 a month Entry plan launched in July 2023, but the current plan data lists only three plans. The Terms suggest it may be for new users only.
- Buy direct. Cards, bank transfer, crypto and PayPal via Paddle are accepted. Resellers may add a 20% fee.
Match rank tracking to your sites
Rank tracking is where most buyers pick the wrong plan. Basic and Premium update rankings weekly, and only Agency is daily. Weekly suits blogs. Agencies usually need daily. If clients expect daily charts, you need Agency, and moving from Premium to Agency raises the annual bill from US$538.80 to US$1,078.80. The second trap is the keyword count. Basic tracks 200, Premium 700 and Agency 1,500, and every keyword, location and device combination counts. A small agency tracking 60 keywords for each of five clients on mobile and desktop already needs 600 tracked keywords, which rules out Basic's 200 and leaves only 100 spare on Premium's 700.
- Decide on devices first. Mobile and desktop are separate trackings [2]. Tracking 300 keywords on mobile and desktop uses 600 of Premium's 700. Pick one device for most keywords and track both only for key pages.
- Count keywords per site. SERPWatcher allows an unlimited number of domains within the plan's keyword total. Many small sites fit one plan; one large site may not.
- Pick which tool your reports quote. A featured snippet counts as position one in SERPWatcher but not in SERPChecker. SERPWatcher also tracks map pack and featured snippet presence. Keep it consistent.
- Check local depth. KWFinder and SERPChecker cover 65,000+ locations, and SERPWatcher tracks at city level. Listings management is not offered, so pair it with another tool if you need that.
- Connect Search Console early. SERPWatcher imports keywords from Google Search Console, which speeds setup, and the SEO Content Optimizer uses that data too.
Basic and Premium update rankings weekly; only Agency is daily. If clients expect daily charts, you need Agency.
Size your daily research
Lookups are the limit you feel every day. Basic gives 100 keyword and 100 SERP lookups a day, Premium 500 and Agency 1,200. One research session can use 50. A writer who checks 20 seed keywords and scores 30 suggestions spends 20 keyword lookups and at least 30 SERP lookups, so Basic's 100 a day covers about three such sessions before the counter stops. Estimate a busy day. Then add half. Each keyword or domain search counts one keyword lookup, and each SERP loaded counts one SERP lookup, except recent cached ones. Clicking suggestions spends SERP lookups too. Learn this early.
- Know when limits reset. Limits refresh every 24 hours from your first request, not at a fixed time. Start work at the same time each day to avoid surprises.
- Plan imports around SERP lookups. Imports allow 200 keywords 100 times a day on Basic, and 700 keywords 500 or 1,200 times on Premium and Agency. Each import counts as one keyword lookup, but scoring difficulty still costs SERP lookups.
- Use lists to feed tracking. KWFinder lists can be sent straight into SERPWatcher, turning research into tracking in a click. It is the main workflow advantage of the bundle.
- Check competitor rows. Search by domain shows 25 rows on Basic and 2,000 on Premium and Agency. If competitor research matters, buy Premium.
- Check your country. Search by domain covers 17 countries, including the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Keyword search covers far more locations, but smaller markets may be missing from domain search.
- Accept the data lag. Mangools says it usually has the data with a one-month lag. Trending topics will not show current volumes, so use Google Trends for fresh spikes and Mangools for steady demand. KWFinder does show historical volumes and long-term trends, which is enough for seasonal content if you plan two months ahead.
- Price one-off bulk jobs separately. Custom data exports deliver bulk search volumes or up to 700 ideas per seed as CSV, priced on request. For a single large project that can be cheaper than a bigger plan.
Count people and logins
Seats look generous until you read the fine print. Basic has no sub-users, Premium includes 3 and Agency 5, and all of them share the account's limits. Count people, then lookups per person. On Premium, an owner and three sub-users sharing 500 keyword lookups a day get about 125 each, which is barely more than a single Basic user receives alone for US$20 a month less. Sessions are the other half of the question. Basic allows 1 simultaneous session, Premium 3 and Agency 10, and a second login on Basic ends the first. Laptop and phone users feel it.
- Count people, then divide the lookups. Teams need Premium or more.
- Check sessions before buying Basic. One login at a time means one device at a time.
Sub-users share the account's daily limits, so an owner and three sub-users on Premium get about 125 lookups each.
Check links, audits and client reports
Mangools covers backlinks and reporting, but not everything an agency might expect. LinkMiner shows 100,000, 500,000 or 1.2 million backlink rows a month by plan, and its 9.5 trillion backlinks come from Majestic's fresh and historic index. Large sites exhaust Basic quickly, so filter by referring domain. Totals and lists can differ. If you already use Majestic, you know the data; if not, compare. There is no technical audit tool, even though Mangools' comparison pages still mention audits. Plan a separate crawler.
- Know what "new" means. LinkMiner counts links found in the past 90 days as new, and lost links are listed too. That suits monthly link reports, not daily alerts.
- Treat Link Strength as a shortcut. It is Mangools' own backlink score, combining Majestic's Citation Flow and Trust Flow, follow attributes and referring domains. Compare it with your own judgment before you trust it.
- Test white-label reports on Free+. Mangools advertises white-label SEO reports for SERPWatcher. Check the logo, colors and domain; clients notice details.
- Plan Looker Studio reports around rankings. The connector brings SERPWatcher data into dashboards, but keyword research data is not part of it. The privacy policy says the Looker integration does not store data from Google APIs.
- Look at SERP snapshots. Mangools stores downloadable snapshots of real SERPs, with 30 million SERPs in its database. They help explain ranking changes to clients, and few budget tools keep them. Check the history depth during Free+.
Decide how much AI tracking you need
AI Search Watcher reports visibility as the share of runs in which a brand appears for a prompt, with average position, a score and the top 10 cited domains, and prompts are run several times. The method is sound. Five prompts limit it. The main plans include 1 AI monitor and 5 prompts, which is a test, not a program. Watching 50 prompts across a brand and its two main competitors would need AI Search Watcher Pro, which adds US$588 a year billed monthly or US$418.80 billed annually on top of any SEO plan. Budget for Pro if AI matters.
- Check the engines. AI Search Watcher covers ChatGPT, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Mistral and Llama. That is broad.
- Test sharing once. It offers sharing, a Looker Studio connection, email reports, and API and MCP access. Check that the shared view hides what clients should not see.
- Ask what your plan includes. A September 2026 guide says the SEO plans include AI Search Watcher Pro; the plan data says five prompts. That one changes what you get.
Read the fine print on refunds and terms
The refund rule is the strictest part of the deal: "If you are not satisfied we will issue a full refund within 48 hours of your payment." [3] It does not apply to two consecutive subscriptions. Two days. Set a reminder. Because the window is counted from the payment and not from the first login, an annual buyer who pays on a Friday evening and only tests on Monday has already lost the right to a full refund. The Terms give EU consumers 14 days to withdraw, unless they have already used the paid service [4]. Using the tools ends the right, so count on 48 hours.
- Know how to cancel. Disable auto-renewal in the dashboard; the plan runs to the end of the paid period, no call is needed, and renewal can be re-enabled.
- Protect an old price. Annual prices are guaranteed until you cancel, and past increases spared subscribers who kept auto-renewal on. Switching off renewal can cost that price.
- Save the plan page. The Terms let Mangools change plan parameters or cancel a plan, and add or create new limits at any time. Material Terms changes need 30 days' notice.
- Note where disputes go. Slovak law applies; businesses go to the District Court Bratislava I, and consumers may also use their own EU courts. US buyers have no US forum in the Terms.
- Read the Terms next to the plan data. The Terms are marked as last updated on June 20, 2023, and the plan data is newer. Limits live in the plan data.
- Request data deletion explicitly. Mangools says it does not sell personal data and deletes it on email request within about 10 days, though retention after closing is possible for legitimate purposes.
- Get API terms in writing. The API page offers free token access to all six tools, while the FAQ mentions separate API plans. Prices and rate limits are unpublished.
Weigh the vendor's own pages and reputation
You are buying from CodeCat s.r.o. in Bratislava, Slovakia, a small company since 2014. It has been stable so far, but keep exports of your tracking data. The bigger practical risk is that Mangools' own pages disagree. Discount, affiliate and comparison pages trail the current plans, still showing 44% savings, a free trial and site audits. Trust plans.json, and verify any number that looks generous. We found seven contradictions, among them the user count (2.8 million or 2 million), API access (free or separate plans) and the AI Search Watcher Pro question above. Even the SERPWatcher guide still mentions a 10-keyword, 10-day free trial, while Free+ now tracks 50 keywords daily.
Reviewers rate Mangools highly, and the platforms agree with each other, though the review counts are modest. In our own sample of 100 Trustpilot reviews, 94 gave five stars and 5 gave one, and support is the main theme. Read the one-star ones. They are few. The outage history on record is old news: a May 2018 outage left about 15% of SERPWatcher positions unprocessed for five days, and the company explained it openly. Ask about uptime today rather than judging on that.
Compare it with Semrush, Ahrefs and SE Ranking
Semrush's SEO plan costs US$139 a month and tracks 500 keywords daily, and its free plan tracks 10 keywords. Mangools Premium is half the price, while Semrush has more tools. Billed annually, Semrush's SEO plan costs US$1,407.96 a year against US$538.80 for Mangools Premium, a gap of US$869.16 that would pay for AI Search Watcher Pro twice over.
Ahrefs Lite costs US$129 a month and tracks 750 keywords weekly, while Mangools Agency costs the same and tracks 1,500 daily. A rank-tracking buyer gets twice the keywords and seven times the update frequency from Mangools, though Ahrefs has the bigger link index. Choose by need.
SE Ranking Core costs US$129 a month, tracks 2,000 keywords daily, offers a 14-day trial and includes audits. Billed annually, it costs US$1,238.40 a year for 2,000 daily-tracked keywords, while Mangools Agency costs US$1,078.80 for 1,500. The price per tracked keyword is close, about 62 cents against 72 cents a year, so compare the two at the Agency tier.
Know which buyer you are
Mangools' testimonials come mostly from bloggers and affiliate marketers, and KWFinder suits long-tail research. That is the sweet spot, and Basic or Premium fits it. Agency gives 5 seats, 10 sessions and daily tracking of 1,500 keywords, but many agencies need more keywords, so price per keyword decides against SE Ranking Core. From Basic to Agency, the price rises 2.6 times and tracking 7.5 times, and upgrades are prorated. Start small. Upgrade when limits bite. Before you buy, list what you would miss: no site audit, no own backlink crawler, weekly tracking below Agency and small AI allowances.
Frequently asked questions
Which Mangools plan should I buy?+
Annual Premium for most users; Agency only if you need daily tracking.
Can I buy KWFinder alone?+
No. All tools come together in every plan.
Can I get a refund from Mangools?+
A full refund within 48 hours of your payment, not for two consecutive subscriptions. The EU 14-day withdrawal right ends once you use the paid service.
Do sub-users get their own limits?+
No. Basic has no sub-users, Premium includes 3 and Agency 5, and all share the account's limits.
Does Mangools have a site audit?+
No. Mangools has no technical audit tool, so plan a separate crawler.
Is annual billing worth it?+
It saves 39% on Basic, 35% on Premium and 30% on Agency. Pay annually only after a month of use or after Free+.
Your decision
If the free plan felt right, weekly tracking is enough and you need no audits, buy annual Premium. If you need daily data on many sites, compare SE Ranking first. Either way, decide within the free period, because the refund window is short and annual plans renew automatically until you switch renewal off. For the tools themselves, our Mangools review has the full verdict.
