Why teams look beyond Sendible

Sendible is built for agencies, multi-brand teams and franchises, and its model is easy to explain. Every current plan includes unlimited users, and capacity comes in workspaces of six social profiles, one per client, brand or location. These plans were announced on August 18, 2026 and are still rolling out, so older accounts may sit on legacy plans with per-user allocations. Core costs $35 a month billed monthly or $29.75 a month billed yearly for one workspace, and Enterprise reaches 50 workspaces. Few teams leave over publishing. They leave because of what sits around the calendar: the inbox, the reporting window, the AI and the developer story. Each gap points to a different rival. Name yours before you compare.

An inbox with gaps

Priority Inbox gathers comments and messages, with sentiment, for Facebook Pages, Instagram and LinkedIn pages, and YouTube comments come in too [1]. It leaves out X, TikTok, Google Business Profile and personal LinkedIn profiles. Items arrive with a lag of one to two hours, and it covers engagement within about four days of a post. Instagram direct messages are a gray zone: Sendible's own pages disagree on them, so confirm before relying on them. X reports and monitoring were removed in November 2023. Social Feeds show each profile in real time, but without sentiment. A team that answers customers on TikTok or X needs another desk.

Ninety days of reporting

Reporting has a similar shape: solid, inside a short window. Sendible stores report data for 90 days as standard, and anything older has to be exported before it rolls off [2]. There are no Google Business Profile or personal LinkedIn reports, and Bluesky has no reporting yet. Quick (pre-built) reports and Google Analytics 4 come on every plan; custom branded reports of up to 30 modules in the Report Hub start on Premium, and scheduled report emails apply to those custom reports only. For a quarterly review that is enough. For a year-on-year story it is not. Agencies that pitch on annual growth feel it first.

Text-only AI and a closed API

AI Assist arrived in June 2024. It runs on OpenAI, writes text only (captions and ideas), has no usage limit and lives only in the main Compose box, not in the inbox, the bulk importer, the content library or the Chrome extension. There are no AI replies and no AI images. On the developer side, Sendible describes API access for software partners and large organizations, but no public API documentation exists on its site or help center, and no MCP server is mentioned anywhere. Zapier support has been in beta since January 2026. Teams wiring social into their own stack will want more.

The entry ticket and the branding bill

Sendible has no free plan. The trial lasts 14 days with no card to start, but users and profiles cannot be added during it, and the pricing FAQ says a card is requested at the end [3]. There are no refunds for prepayment or proration. White label is a paid option on Elite and Enterprise only: with white label, Elite costs from $349 a month in total and Enterprise from $800 a month in total, per the pricing FAQ. Facebook Groups were removed in April 2024, and we could not find a current Sendible app in the App Store or Google Play. Each of these points sends a different buyer elsewhere.

⚠️
Watch out
Check the inbox networks first

Priority Inbox leaves out X, TikTok, Google Business Profile and personal LinkedIn, and Sendible's own pages disagree on Instagram direct messages.

Agorapulse: the closest agency rival

Agorapulse sells to the same agencies Sendible does, and it answers several of the gaps above head-on. Its inbox gathers organic and paid post comments, mentions, private messages and reviews in one place. On Professional and above, ad comments from Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok ads sync in too, once the ad accounts are connected. Data retention runs 6, 12 and 24 months across Standard, Professional and Advanced, against Sendible's 90 days. It has an MCP connector for ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot, in beta with pricing subject to change, which creates drafts but does not publish, excludes Legacy plan holders and needs a paid AI-assistant subscription. An Open API (reporting data, drafts, calendar notes and inbox sync) comes on the Custom plan only, priced by demo, and there is an app for iOS and Android. It also claims SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification. The trial runs 15 days on the Advanced plan, plus an optional 15-day extension (30 days in total), without a card.

The catch is the pricing unit. Agorapulse charges per user: Standard is $79 per user a month billed annually or $99 monthly, Professional $119 or $149, and Advanced $149 or $199 [4]. Each plan includes 10 social profiles, and extra profiles cost $10 a month billed annually or $15 monthly. For a team of five on Advanced billed annually, that comes to $745 a month by our arithmetic (5 x $149), before any extra profiles, and annual billing is a 12-month commitment billed upfront. Listening is a separate add-on priced by demo. Agorapulse ended its Free plan on July 6, 2026 (some of its pages still mention one); only a free Archie plan for AI content remains, so after the trial you pick a paid plan. Agorapulse is not in our scored catalog, so read these as its own claims.

Hootsuite: the networks Sendible's inbox skips

Hootsuite closes the network gap most directly. Its Nest workspace brings messages from Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, WhatsApp and Google Business Profile into one stream, with saved replies, automation and routing, though TikTok messages are not available in the EEA, Switzerland or the UK. Basic listening comes on every plan, with seven days of quick search on Standard and 30 days above, and ads management is included everywhere. Wisdom, its AI, drafts posts and images and answers questions on your social data. Hootsuite also offers MCP connectors for Claude and ChatGPT, plus a REST API with webhooks. It lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. A trial runs 14 days: its pricing page says no card and no automatic charge, while its Terms and help center say a trial with a payment method on file converts and is charged.

The trade is cost and contract. Hootsuite prices per user: Standard is $99 per user a month billed annually, Professional $199 and Advanced $399, and no month-to-month rate is published. Approval workflows, with up to three layers, wait on Advanced, so a five-person team that needs approvals pays $1,995 a month billed annually by our arithmetic. Every Sendible plan from Plus includes simple approvals for unlimited users. Annual Hootsuite plans are non-refundable, and its inbox keeps conversations for six weeks. Pick it when networks and listening matter more than headcount. Our Sendible vs Hootsuite comparison runs the numbers in detail.

Sprout Social: deeper care, priced per seat

Sprout Social is the pick when social media is a customer-care channel. Its Smart Inbox gathers messages, comments, mentions and reviews in one place, and on Advanced it adds sentiment, cases, chatbots, automated rules and helpdesk and CRM integrations with Zendesk, Salesforce, HubSpot and Dynamics 365. WhatsApp is supported, with 1,000 free conversations a month. Sprout lists SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001 and ISO 27701, offers SAML SSO and SCIM, and ships iOS and Android apps. Against Sendible's text-only AI, it brings the Trellis agent and AI Assist for posts and, on Advanced, replies. The trial runs 30 days without a card.

Every Sprout price is per seat. Essentials costs $99 per seat a month billed monthly or $79 billed annually, but it has no Smart Inbox and no approvals. Standard costs $249 per seat a month billed monthly or $199 billed annually and adds the inbox, while Professional costs $399 or $299 per seat a month on the same terms and adds approvals and bulk scheduling. Five seats on Sprout Standard billed annually come to $995 a month by our arithmetic, while every current Sendible plan includes unlimited users. Sprout's annual plans renew automatically and carry no refunds on cancellation. There is also a policy difference. Sprout's AI Features Terms let it train its own AI features on customer inputs and outputs, while Sendible's Terms say customer data is not used to train public AI models.

Buffer: a free start and an open API

Buffer answers the two complaints small teams raise first: the missing free plan and the closed API. Its free tier covers 3 channels, 1 user and 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time, with no card. Every plan, the free one included, comes with API access, and Buffer runs an official MCP server, so posts can be handled from AI assistants. Paid plans keep analytics with unlimited history, which beats a 90-day window, and export CSV, Markdown and PDF reports (the pricing page lists branded reports on Team only; the help center describes a PDF with your own cover logo on any paid plan). The Community inbox handles comments across 10 networks and adds AI reply suggestions. Sendible's AI Assist offers no replies at all.

Buffer bills per channel. Essentials costs $6 per channel a month billed monthly or $5 billed yearly, for one user, and Team costs $12 or $10 with unlimited team members, approval workflows and branded reports. Six channels on Buffer's Team plan billed yearly come to $60 a month by our arithmetic, against $29.75 a month billed yearly for Sendible Core with six profiles, though Core has no approvals or branded reports; with approvals, Sendible starts at Plus, $84.15 a month billed yearly. Buffer has no social listening, ads management or sentiment analysis and no Google Business Profile analytics. It mentions no SOC 2, ISO 27001 or SSO. Agencies juggling many clients will miss workspaces. Our Sendible vs Buffer breakdown goes deeper.

Metricool: long history and an MCP on every plan

Metricool targets the reporting gap. Paid plans keep unlimited analytics history, track up to 100 competitors per network and export PDF and PowerPoint reports, with ads reporting for Meta, Google and TikTok and a Looker Studio connector on Advanced. Its official MCP server works with Claude and ChatGPT on every plan, the free one included, and Advanced adds a REST API used by Zapier and n8n. Advanced also brings unlimited users, roles, post approval and a link that lets clients connect their own networks, close to what Client Connect does. Data sits on servers in the European Union. Its AI providers are contractually barred from training on customer content.

Metricool prices by brand. Starter costs $25 a month billed monthly or $20 billed annually for up to 5 brands, and Advanced costs $67 or $53 for up to 15 brands. Fifteen brands on Metricool Advanced billed annually cost $53 a month, against $254.15 a month billed yearly for 15 workspaces on Sendible Elite. The gap is large. X needs an add-on at $10 a month per connected account, prices exclude VAT, and white label is sold only on Custom. The inbox has no assignment, no auto-replies and no comment hiding, and there is no standard trial. Reporting-led agencies will like it. Care-heavy teams will find it thin.

SocialBee: content recycling with AI images

SocialBee suits small teams that live on evergreen content. Posts sit in content categories that fill a weekly schedule, and evergreen posts are re-shared automatically. Its AI goes further than Sendible's: captions and variations with no monthly cap under fair use (SocialBee says this may change), up to 4 images per request, and Copilot, which builds a strategy, categories, a schedule and ten draft posts from a website. Universal Posting sends mobile reminders for networks it cannot post to directly, including Facebook Groups, which Sendible removed in April 2024. The 30-day money-back guarantee on a first purchase is also gentler than Sendible's rule of no refunds for prepayment.

SocialBee charges per plan. Bootstrap costs $29 a month billed monthly or $290 a year, with 5 profiles and one user, and Accelerate costs $49 or $490 a year and adds post approval. Pro costs $99 a month or $990 a year for 25 profiles, 5 workspaces and 3 users per workspace, and the agency plans run up to Pro150 at $449 a month for 150 profiles. Extra users cost $10 a month each. There is no public API or white label, we found no MCP server on its site or help center, and its inbox leaves out TikTok, Pinterest, Bluesky and Google Business Profile. Teams that need unlimited logins should stay put.

Later: visual planning for Instagram and TikTok

Later is built for brands whose social life runs through Instagram and TikTok. Its visual calendar, Instagram grid planner, shoppable Link in Bio page and UGC collection are designed around that kind of team. Growth adds a social inbox for Instagram and Facebook direct messages plus Instagram, Facebook and TikTok comments, which covers TikTok where Sendible's Priority Inbox does not. Analytics reach one year of history on Growth and two years on Scale. Scale also adds brand mentions (Instagram and TikTok), sentiment (Instagram, TikTok and Facebook Pages) and benchmarking of up to 20 competitors on Instagram. Later Influence is a separate influencer platform sold through demos.

Later prices by Social Set, a bundle of eight profiles with one per platform. Starter costs $25 a month billed monthly or $18.75 billed yearly, with one user, and Growth costs $50 or $37.50 with two users. Scale costs $110 or $82.50 with four users, and extra users cost $5 a month. Plans renew automatically and are non-refundable, and the 14-day trial needs a card and converts to paid unless cancelled. The limits are sharp for agencies. Later removed X support in August 2025, has no public API, does not support Google Business Profile or Bluesky, and its inbox is a desktop-only beta. Monthly post caps per profile apply below Scale. Choose it for a creative, Instagram-first team, not for an agency with many logins.

Pricing models side by side

Tool Billed by Entry paid price Trial
Sendible Plan, workspaces of 6 profiles $29.75 a month, billed yearly 14 days, no card to start
Hootsuite User $99 per user a month, billed annually 14 days; no card per its pricing page, but its Terms say a trial with a payment method converts
Sprout Social Seat $79 per seat a month, billed annually 30 days, no card
Buffer Channel $5 per channel a month, billed yearly 14 days of Team; charges if a card is on file, else drops to Free
Metricool Brands, 5 on Starter $20 a month, billed annually Promo codes only
SocialBee Plan $290 a year 14 days, no card
Later Social Set $18.75 a month, billed yearly 14 days, card required, converts to paid unless cancelled

The unit in the second column decides the bill more than the headline figure does. Per-user and per-seat plans grow with headcount, per-channel plans grow with networks, and per-brand or per-workspace plans grow with clients. Count three numbers before comparing: the people who need a login, the profiles you publish to and the clients you report on. Then price each finalist on those numbers for two years, and add the extras you will need, such as white label or more workspaces. Our Sendible pricing guide shows how extra workspaces change the total.

Toolkit tip
Count logins, profiles and clients

Each alternative bills a different unit. Price your shortlist on all three numbers for two years before comparing headline rates.

When staying with Sendible is the right call

Stay if your team is large and your clients are many. Unlimited users on every plan means freelancers, account managers and client reviewers never move the bill, and growth comes in workspaces of six profiles, each with its own messages, reports and queues. Client Connect lets clients link their own social accounts through a secure link, with no password sharing, and TikTok, Bluesky and Threads joined it in 2025. Reviewers can approve posts by email without a login. On Elite, dynamic fields let one post swap in each location's name, address, link or hashtag, a feature built for franchises and multi-location brands.

Ratings support the stay case. Business-software review sites rate Sendible well, and their reviewers mostly describe daily work. TrustRadius is cooler. Trustpilot carries too few reviews to count, and its low-star themes are billing, refunds, support and cancellation. Read that as a map of where friction shows up, not as a trend. The map matches the terms above: no refunds for prepayment or proration, and a card requested when the trial ends. The product holds up well. The paperwork is where buyers trip, so read it before you commit to a year.

💡
Toolkit tip
Export before you leave

Sendible keeps 90 days of report data as standard, so export reports and posts before cancelling or switching.

Before you switch, check the cost of leaving. A cancelled plan keeps working until the day before the paid period ends, and a subscription suspended for more than a month is terminated with its data lost, so export your reports and posts first. Reports older than 90 days are not kept as standard, which makes an export worthwhile anyway. Then trial two finalists on your real profiles for a full cycle of publishing, replying and reporting. A team that mainly schedules and reports can save money elsewhere. A busy agency with many reviewers rarely finds a better fit.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to Sendible?+

It depends on the gap. Agorapulse and Hootsuite widen the inbox, Sprout Social adds customer-care depth, Buffer and Metricool cost less, SocialBee recycles content and Later suits Instagram-first brands.

Does Sendible have a free plan?+

No. It offers a 14-day trial with no card to start, and a card is requested at the end. Buffer and Metricool both have free tiers.

Which Sendible alternative has an MCP server?+

Buffer and Metricool each run an MCP server, Agorapulse has an MCP connector in beta that creates drafts only, Hootsuite offers MCP connectors, and Sprout Social supports its MCP server for ChatGPT only (Professional and above per its newer help page). Sendible mentions no MCP and has no public API documentation.

Which alternatives keep more than 90 days of reports?+

Metricool and Buffer keep unlimited history on paid plans, SocialBee keeps two years from Accelerate, Later one year on Growth and two on Scale, and Agorapulse 6, 12 or 24 months by plan.

Is any alternative cheaper for a large team?+

Per user, rarely. Hootsuite, Sprout Social and Agorapulse charge per user or seat, while every current Sendible plan includes unlimited users, as do Buffer's Team plan and Metricool's Advanced plan.

Can I get a refund if I leave Sendible?+

Sendible gives no refunds for prepayment or proration, and a cancelled plan keeps working until the day before the paid period ends.

The bottom line

Sendible remains a sensible choice for agencies and multi-location brands that need many users, many workspaces and simple client approvals at a plan price. Its weak spots are specific: a Priority Inbox without X, TikTok or Google Business Profile, 90 days of report data, text-only AI and no public API documentation or MCP. Pick Agorapulse or Hootsuite for a broader inbox, Sprout Social for customer care, Buffer for a free start and an open API, Metricool for long history at a low price, SocialBee for recycling with AI images and Later for Instagram-first planning.
