Zendesk connects to most of the tools a support team already runs, and the core connectors cost nothing. Our count of the Marketplace API on 2 Nov 2026 found 1,823 published listings, of which 506 are paid and 55 are built by Zendesk itself.[1] The apps most teams install first (Jira, Salesforce, Slack, Shopify) are free and built by Zendesk. The real work is in the setup rules: admin rights on both sides, a paid seat for some connectors, one-way data flows, and a hard switch to OAuth for custom code. Here is how each major integration works and where it stops.

What the Marketplace holds, and what apps cost you

The Marketplace is less uniform than its size suggests. Of the 1,823 listings we counted, 1,766 list Zendesk Support, 85 list Sell and 70 list Chat, while 196 are marketing-only listings that point you to a partner. Zendesk Sell is a separate CRM retiring on 31 Aug 2027, so skip Sell-only listings. Zendesk quotes larger app counts in its marketing; treat those as its claim. It names Slack, Jira, Salesforce, Workday and Shopify as its most popular integrations. Every trial account can install Marketplace apps, so you can test a connector before paying for a seat.

Paid apps bill separately from your plan. An admin cancels one by uninstalling it, and Zendesk prorates the remaining cost back to the payment method on file. That is gentler than the plan itself, which has no refunds. Credentials are the hidden cost. Apps set up with a downgraded admin's credentials can fail until another admin reauthorizes them, and the Microsoft 365 Copilot connector stops outright. Residency matters too: data shared with Marketplace apps falls outside the Data Center Location add-on, even when your Zendesk data is pinned to one region.

App Built by Price on the Marketplace What it does in Zendesk
Jira Zendesk Free Link and create Jira issues from tickets
Salesforce Zendesk Free Salesforce records in the ticket, tickets in Salesforce
Slack Zendesk Free Notifications, tickets from Slack, approvals
Shopify Zendesk Free Orders and order actions from the ticket
Microsoft Teams for Support SoftServe Free Create and update tickets from Teams

Watch out
Admin changes break connectors

If the admin who installed the Jira integration, or its dedicated user, is suspended or downgraded, the integration stops working.

Jira: escalating tickets to engineering

The Jira app shows 9,849 installs on the Marketplace.[2] It supports Jira Cloud and Jira Data Center; Jira Server is no longer supported, and the integration does not work in the Jira Cloud mobile app. Setup needs administrator rights in both Jira and Zendesk Support, plus membership of the jira-administrators and jira-software-users groups. Agents then create or link Jira issues from the ticket. The default issue fields (project, issue type, reporter, assignee, summary, description) cannot be removed, but a Support admin can add more Jira fields.

The detail that catches teams is ownership. You can run the integration under a dedicated integration user, which creates a verified admin and takes an agent seat no other agent can use. That user costs whatever an agent seat costs on your plan. Skip that option and the integration runs under the admin who installed it. Either way, one risk remains. If that admin, or the dedicated user, is suspended or downgraded, the integration stops working. Reinstalling against the same two accounts keeps linked issue data intact.

Toolkit tip
Install connectors during the trial

Every Zendesk trial account can install Marketplace apps, so test Jira, Salesforce or Shopify setup before you buy seats.

Salesforce and HubSpot: bringing CRM data to the ticket

Zendesk is not a CRM, so customer records reach agents through connectors, and these two behave very differently. The Salesforce app is free and built by Zendesk.[3] It works with Salesforce Performance, Unlimited, Enterprise and Developer editions, or other editions with API access. Setup needs both a Zendesk Support admin and a Salesforce admin, and an API-only Salesforce user cannot be used. The Zendesk sidebar app only views Salesforce records. It cannot edit them.

In the other direction, the ticket view on a Salesforce case page queries Zendesk in real time, stores no Zendesk data in Salesforce and uses no API calls. It is view-only. If your matching criteria pass 4,000 characters, a Salesforce query limit returns no tickets at all. Ticket sync to Salesforce is on every current plan, from Support Team up, with firm gaps: attachments and closed tickets do not sync, ticket comments do not sync to a case field (the ticket view can show them), and multi-line, credit card, regex and lookup fields are unsupported. Zendesk recommends testing in sandboxes first.

The HubSpot integration is one-way, from Zendesk to HubSpot.[4] Connecting creates three triggers and one webhook automatically. Tickets appear only on the HubSpot contact timeline, not on company or deal views. Do not press the test button on that webhook in Admin Center. Testing it breaks the integration. If agents need HubSpot data inside the ticket, this connector will not give it to them; it serves the sales side, not the support desk.

⚠️
Watch out
Never test the HubSpot webhook

Testing the webhook that the Zendesk Support for HubSpot integration creates in Admin Center breaks the integration.

Slack, Teams, Zoom and Workday: where the rest of the company works

The Slack app covers more than alerts. Admins send ticket notifications through triggers, and people create tickets from Slack. Approvers act on a request in Slack and the decision is recorded on the ticket, though approvals work in one Slack workspace only. Side conversations can run in Slack too, but on Support plans they need the Collaboration add-on. A reply to a Slack side conversation on a closed ticket opens a follow-up ticket.

Microsoft Teams for Support is free, built by SoftServe and commissioned and funded by Zendesk. Users create, view and update tickets, add notes and public replies, and get notifications; importing ticket views as tabs is for agents only. Zoom Meetings lets agents launch calls from a ticket, with recordings posted as private comments. The Workday app serves employee service: a Workday admin creates an OAuth 2.0 client whose secret is shown only once, and agents see only the Workday data they are allowed to see, cached for one hour.

Shopify and commerce apps

The Shopify app shows 16,495 installs on the Marketplace. It is free, built by Zendesk and works with Support and Chat. Agents view orders and process Shopify order refunds and cancellations from the ticket sidebar, and one Zendesk account can connect several storefronts. The integration adds the Web Widget to each store automatically, but only for the default brand; other brands need code pasted into the Shopify theme. Disconnecting a storefront removes the sidebar apps, the storefront widget and the Zendesk app in Shopify together.

Two partner apps round out commerce support. Klaviyo's app shows WhatsApp consent expiry and lets agents send follow-ups asking the customer to continue. TikTok Shop's app needs a seller account and keeps every conversation from one buyer in a single ticket. Both are free. The old Chat for Shopify app is gone from Shopify's store, and messaging is on by default for the storefront widget. For storefront setup in depth, see our Zendesk for Shopify guide.

Remove a storefront with care

Disconnecting a Shopify store also removes the Zendesk sidebar apps, the storefront Web Widget and the Zendesk app inside Shopify.

When no app fits: build it yourself

Action Builder, from Suite Team, creates no-code action flows of up to 60 steps. On Suite Professional and above, Admin Copilot can also build a flow from a plain-text description. AI agents can call those flows, but only ones using the Run on demand trigger. App Builder writes custom sidebar apps from plain-language prompts and can reach internal APIs or services such as Jira. It starts on Suite Professional, capped at 5 app conversations. Zendesk's pricing page lists Suite Professional at $115 per agent per month billed annually, or $149 billed monthly. Billing is per agent and every seat is paid; see our pricing breakdown.

For developers, the Zendesk Apps Framework builds iframe apps for Support, Chat and Sell, publishable on the Marketplace as free or paid public apps. Zendesk's built-in MCP client connects Zendesk to public or private MCP servers, such as Asana, Stripe or GitHub, and exposes their tools in action flows; Zendesk's announcement lists it on Support Team and on Suite Growth and above. For the reverse direction, the Marketplace lists Swifteq's MCP Server app, a third-party product free for 500 calls a month per account. Swifteq's Team plan costs 49 EUR a month including the first user, plus 9 EUR per extra user.

One deadline covers all custom work. All Support API tokens stop working on 30 Apr 2027, and no account has been able to create new ones since 27 Oct 2026. Accounts created since 28 Jul 2026 cannot use tokens at all. Scripts and webhooks that call your own Zendesk with a token must move to OAuth before then, or they stop working on that date. Our Zendesk API guide walks through the migration.

Frequently asked questions

Can Zendesk apps be installed during the free trial?+

Yes. Zendesk says all trial accounts can download and install apps from the Marketplace, so connectors can be tested before buying.

Does the Salesforce ticket view use Zendesk API calls?+

No. The ticket view on a Salesforce case page queries Zendesk in real time, stores no Zendesk data in Salesforce and does not consume API calls; it is view-only.

Does Zendesk integrate with Atlassian tools besides Jira?+

Yes. Zendesk lists free pre-built integrations with Trello, Statuspage and Opsgenie as well as Jira; with Opsgenie an agent can raise an alert from a ticket and receive updates back on it.

Is there an official Zendesk MCP server for AI assistants?+

The MCP Server app on the Zendesk Marketplace is built by Swifteq, a third party, not by Zendesk. Zendesk's own MCP client works the other way, connecting Zendesk to outside MCP servers.

The bottom line

Zendesk's integrations are broad and mostly free at the core. Jira, Salesforce, Slack, Shopify and Teams cost nothing to install, and the Marketplace holds 1,823 listings on our count. The limits sit in the mechanics. Jira can take a paid seat. Salesforce sync skips attachments and closed tickets. HubSpot only receives data. Custom builds need Suite Professional for App Builder and OAuth before 30 Apr 2027. Map each connector's direction, owner and plan gate before rollout, and the integrations will hold up.
