CapCut Teams in one answer
CapCut's US pricing page lists Teams at $12.49 per seat a month billed monthly for the default 2 seats, with Pro features, 1,200 monthly AI credits per seat, a Brand Kit and 1 TB of shared space storage.[1] That figure is for reference only, because CapCut shows the final price, taxes and offers after sign-in and prices other seat counts at checkout, as our CapCut pricing guide explains. Teams fits two or more people who edit the same branded videos every week. Only the Team Owner can buy it. A solo editor gains nothing here.
The yearly side needs a warning. CapCut's US pricing page also has a Yearly tab, but like the monthly figures it is labelled reference-only and CapCut runs time-limited yearly offers, so we don't quote a yearly price; check the Yearly tab after you sign in. The Teams card also says signing in can save up to 80% on Teams, and CapCut tests limited-time promotions on selected users, so two owners may see different checkout figures for the same seat count.
Buying Teams and filling the seats
The owner buys it
Teams starts with one person: the Team Owner, acting as billing administrator, subscribes for the whole team. The mobile app has no Teams option anywhere, although invited members can still reach shared content from their phones.
Teams also needs a personal CapCut account, since a social-login-only account without a verified email may be blocked, and business or reseller accounts may need special onboarding. Pick the owner's login method with care. CapCut treats each sign-in route (Google, email, TikTok, Facebook, Apple ID, phone number) as a separate account, even when the email address matches, so a team bought under a Google login will not appear when the owner signs in with email. The subscription cannot move later either. CapCut does not transfer an active Teams plan, its remaining time, its seats or its assets to another team, even one with the same owner, because the benefits are tied to the team ID and the owner account.
Each sign-in method is a separate CapCut account, and a Teams plan never transfers to another team, so buy under the login the owner will keep.
Seats go up any time, down only at renewal
Seats are chosen at checkout, with 2 as the default on the pricing page and larger options listed in help. Adding seats works at any point in the cycle: CapCut charges a prorated fee for the rest of the billing period, and the new seats activate immediately.[2] Cutting seats waits for renewal. The new seat count must also be higher than the number of people already in the space, so a team with six members cannot pick a five-seat plan. Seat management lives only in the Team Owner Edition.
Who can do what inside the team
Invites come from the admin, by email or through a shareable link. Pending invitations get nothing. Benefits start when a member accepts, and every accepted member then receives all Pro features and premium assets, co-editing, the Brand Kit and team-only templates. Help describes two layers of control. The owner assigns Admin or Member roles and decides who can upload, edit or delete shared assets, while project roles such as Editor or Viewer change editing rights but never change access to premium content.
The Brand Kit holds the team's colors, logos and fonts, and only Admins can edit it.[3] Members build from Brand Templates and the kit but cannot change the kit itself. For a five-person marketing team, a sensible setup gives Admin to the brand lead and the producer and Member to everyone else who edits. Usage rights are a separate question, and our CapCut for business guide covers music licensing and the rest of that ground.
A working week in the shared space
The pricing page lists 1 TB of space storage, and help describes a 1,000 GB Team Space shared by all members, with materials, projects and finished work backed up to the cloud. Members create the Teamspace, add people by email, import media and edit together in real time. When that terabyte fills, only the owner can buy more: add-on packs of 100 GB or 1,000 GB, up to 3,000 GB in total, priced only at checkout, never in the mobile app, and only while the plan is active.
AI credits behave differently. Each seat brings 1,200 monthly subscription credits, and help says Teams subscription credits are shared at team level, so one heavy user of AI video generation can draw down the pool for everyone. Activity credits and purchased credits stay personal. Subscription credits expire at the end of their grant period, never roll over, and cannot pay for seats or storage. Give one person the job of checking the balance before a big generation day; only CapCut Web shows the full breakdown, expiry dates and history.
Extra Teams seats are prorated and active immediately; reductions wait for renewal, and the new seat count must exceed the current member count.
Platform matters more for teams. Help says Teams features are fully supported on Web and Desktop while the mobile app has limited access, so manage the team from CapCut Online or Desktop, not the phone. Reviews can run through links, since CapCut's Creative Suite page describes sharing a video link that reviewers can comment on and annotate. That page names no plan, so do not count review links as a Teams-only perk. Desktop also validates team access online at each launch, which means team privileges do not work offline on a laptop without a connection.
When someone leaves or the plan lapses
Offboarding is instant. Leaving or being removed from a team immediately revokes shared cloud storage, team projects, Brand Kits, team-only templates and the premium assets the subscription unlocked.[4] A former member without a personal Pro subscription drops back to free features, and on Desktop that means no AI effects and no 4K export. Drafts that use Pro materials will not export until someone renews or replaces those elements. Before removing a freelancer, export their finished videos and move the raw footage they uploaded into folders the team keeps.
If the whole plan lapses, assets are not deleted. Content beyond the free allowance is frozen, so nobody can open, edit, download or share it until the team renews or trims usage; add-on storage freezes with the plan, returns on renewal within one year and is lost after that. Teams renews automatically, so the owner cancels at least 24 hours before renewal, keeps access to the end of the cycle and should expect no refund as a rule, as our guide to cancelling CapCut explains. A cancelled Teams license cannot be reused for another team.
A member who leaves or is removed loses team projects, shared storage, Brand Kits and team-unlocked premium assets at once, so export finished videos first.
Distributed teams face one more limit. Cloud collaboration runs on regional servers, so invitations and shared Cloud Spaces may fail when a member sits in a different region from the space owner, shared links may not open and shared projects may not appear. Pro may also be disabled for accounts created in China, India or Russia, or when the current IP address is in a Pro-restricted region. Send a contractor abroad a test invite before paying for their seat.
Teams or separate accounts for a small team
Two people can start without Teams. In a newly created space, the owner can invite 1 member for free collaboration, and newly created spaces get little or no free cloud storage (0 GB since 25 Mar 2026, per help). That invite is not a Teams seat, and Pro is tied to each account, so premium assets need the member's own Pro. CapCut's US pricing page lists Pro at $19.99 a month billed monthly per account. Like the Teams figure, that is a reference price that can change after sign-in, which the pricing guide explains. CapCut's Free plan ("Start for free with the basics you need to create") covers free templates and basic editing tools; premium templates, premium features and monthly AI credits need a paid plan. So the free route suits a pair where only the owner pays for Pro and only the owner needs premium assets.
By our arithmetic, two separate Pro subscriptions come to $39.98 a month and the two-seat Teams default to $24.98 a month billed monthly, a gap of $15 a month that also buys pooled credits, the Brand Kit and a shared space. Two Pro accounts do keep 1 TB each instead of one shared terabyte. For any other team size, read the per-seat price that checkout shows: Teams stays cheaper than separate Pro plans while that per-seat figure stays under $19.99 a month. Above it, individual Pro accounts cost less.
Rivals price teams on different units, so compare per person and per month. Canva Business costs $25 per user a month billed monthly for each person, or $250 per user a year invoiced every three months, with no seat minimum. On Canva's seat-based billing, a seat is billed before the invite is accepted. Descript Business costs $65 per seat a month billed monthly, with up to 5 seats. VEED charges per editor seat, and every workspace member counts as a paid seat, pending invites included. The choice turns on the work itself: Canva leans toward design, Descript toward transcript editing, and CapCut Teams toward a shared credit pool and template-led editing, managed from Desktop and Web with limited access on phones.
Frequently asked questions
Can one owner run two CapCut teams?+
Yes, but each team needs its own Teams subscription. Benefits are tied to the team ID and the owner account, and seats, remaining time or assets can't move between teams.
What happens to team AI credits after cancelling Teams?+
Subscription credits expire at the end of their grant period and never roll over. Activity and purchased credits stay personal.
Can members use CapCut Teams on their phones?+
Partly. Help says Teams features are fully supported on CapCut Web and Desktop while the mobile app has limited access; members can reach shared content there, but the app can't buy or configure Teams.
Where can the team's storage be expanded?+
Only the team owner can expand team storage, on CapCut Desktop or Web rather than in the mobile app, and add-on packs work only while the Teams plan is active.
The bottom line
CapCut Teams is the cheaper and tidier option for two or more people who already edit in CapCut every week and need one brand library, one shared terabyte and one credit pool. Only the owner buys it, seats rise mid-cycle and fall only at renewal, and nothing transfers between teams. Confirm the checkout price for your seat count, check every member's login method and region, and export finished work before anyone leaves. Solo editors and loose freelancer networks are better served by individual Pro accounts.
