What CapCut costs right now
CapCut's US pricing page lists four plans: Free at $0, Pro at $19.99 a month billed monthly, Ultra at $79 a month billed monthly and Teams at $12.49 per seat a month billed monthly for the default 2 seats.[1] The page calls those figures reference only, and your final price, taxes and any offer appear only after you sign in. Pro is the answer for most solo creators. It unlocks every premium template, 4K and 60 fps exports and 1,200 AI credits a month. Teams fits two or more people, and also a heavier solo AI user, as the credit math below shows.
Prices shown are what each vendor lists for visitors in the United States, in US dollars. Your price can differ by country, currency and local taxes such as VAT.
| Plan | Listed price on the US page | Monthly AI credits | Cloud storage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | none (a few free uses of some tools) | 0 GB for spaces created since 25 Mar 2026 |
| Pro | $19.99 a month billed monthly | 1,200 | 1 TB |
| Ultra | $79 a month billed monthly | 8,645 | 1 TB |
| Teams | $12.49 per seat a month billed monthly, 2 seats by default | 1,200 per seat | 1 TB shared team space |
The help center adds that the Pro price can vary by region, device and promotion, and that different accounts can see different prices because limited-time campaigns are tested on selected users. The Monthly tab itself carries an up-to-40%-off label, so read these as listed figures, not regular prices. Ultra adds what the card calls exclusive AI features on top of Pro, without listing them. Teams gives every seat Pro features plus a Brand Kit. Its per-seat figure moves with seat count on the page, so any size other than two is priced at checkout.
What a year costs, and why there is no yearly price here
CapCut's US pricing page also has a Yearly tab, but like the monthly figures it is labelled reference-only and CapCut runs time-limited yearly offers, so we don't quote a yearly price; check the Yearly tab after you sign in. Billed monthly for twelve months, Pro comes to $239.88 a year billed monthly and Ultra to $948 a year billed monthly, by our arithmetic. A two-seat team on the monthly card runs $24.98 a month billed monthly, while two separate accounts on the $19.99 card would run $39.98 a month. For a pair, the team plan wins by $15 a month. For one person who needs only 1,200 credits, it loses.
For Teams, the Team Owner picks the seat count at checkout, then manages members from CapCut Online or Desktop rather than the phone app. Seat rules, roles and pooled credits are covered in our CapCut for teams guide.
Pro plus credit packs, Teams, or Ultra?
Ultra costs about 4 times as much as Pro each month for about 7.2 times the monthly credits (8,645 against 1,200). With the help center's example pack of 100 credits for $4.99, eleven packs on top of the cheaper card reach 2,300 credits for $74.88 a month, and a twelfth pack pushes the total to $79.87. So against Ultra alone, Pro plus packs costs less up to 2,300 credits a month, and Ultra costs less above that. That pack price is only an example. Check your own store.
The route solo buyers tend to skip is Teams. At the default 2 seats it lists at $24.98 a month billed monthly by our arithmetic, each seat carries 1,200 credits, and Teams subscription credits are pooled at team level, so the team holds 2,400 credits a month. One pack on the cheaper card ties it at 1,300 credits; from there to 2,400, Teams is the cheapest listed route, even for one person paying for an unused second seat. The conditions matter. Teams needs at least two seats, and activity and purchased credits stay personal. Beyond 2,400, a 2-seat team can add packs too: at the help center's example price it stays under Ultra's $79 up to about 3,400 credits a month ($74.88 by our arithmetic, with the packs staying with the member who buys them), and larger seat counts are priced only at checkout, so compare both before choosing Ultra.
CapCut's US pricing page lists Seedance 2.0 Mini generation of up to 240 seconds at 720p on Pro and up to 1,700 seconds at 720p on Ultra, reference figures like the prices beside them. Seedance 2.5 appears only on the paid cards, and CapCut rolled it out to subscriber accounts of users over 16, so don't plan on it with Free.
At the help center's example pack price, a 2-seat Teams plan with 2,400 pooled credits costs less than Pro plus packs or Ultra from about 1,300 to 2,400 credits a month. Ultra beats Pro plus packs only above 2,300.
Credits and storage: what expires and what you can't buy
Credits are not the plan. Subscription credits arrive each cycle, expire at the end of their grant period, never roll over and disappear when the plan ends; after you cancel, they stay usable until the paid cycle closes.[2] Credits can't pay for Pro, Teams or storage, carry no cash value and can't be transferred. CapCut also asks you to subscribe before you buy credits. Buy them on CapCut Web, where the full balance, history and expiry dates live; Desktop's Buy More button redirects there.
Every paid plan lists 1 TB of cloud storage. Extra packs of 100 GB and 1,000 GB exist on top of Pro or Teams, up to 3,000 GB in total, but no price is published for either. Packs need an active plan and can't be bought in the mobile app. When the plan ends, the extra space freezes rather than vanishing, and renewing within one year restores it. Free accounts get little or nothing: spaces created since 25 March 2026 start at 0 GB.
The old Pro and the Standard plan
Before the March to April 2026 update, Pro carried 550 credits; the upgraded plan carries 1,200 credits and 1 TB of storage.[3] The old Pro price is closed to new subscribers, and existing subscribers were moved up while keeping their price for the active period. You may also read about a Standard plan. It exists only in some regions and works only in the mobile app. It has no US price.
Where you pay sets the rules
The platform you buy on decides how you pay. The iPhone and Android apps take payment only through the App Store or Google Play, in the store country's currency. CapCut Web takes cards, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay, depending on region. In CapCut Desktop, the Pro Join button opens CapCut Web in your browser. CapCut says the desktop Pro price can be higher than mobile on purpose. Compare before paying. Pro may also be unavailable for accounts created in China, India or Russia.
The billing rules are strict. One account holds one active subscription. There is no lifetime purchase and no switching plans mid-subscription: you cancel, let the cycle end, then resubscribe at the current price. A discounted first month renews at the standard rate. CapCut says it has no plans to raise renewal prices for current subscribers and would give notice of future changes.
The 7-day Pro trial is offered in selected regions only, to users who never had Pro. The web trial needs a payment method and charges when it ends, and mobile trials charge your store account after seven days. Windows users who never had Pro may also get a 7-day trial; it converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends, so check the billing period shown at checkout. What Free does without paying, including watermark-free exports, is in our guide to CapCut Free.

Cancelling, and when a refund appeal applies
Pro and Teams renew automatically. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal, in the place you bought: App Store, Google Play, or the account settings on CapCut Web or Desktop.[4] Access runs to the end of the paid cycle. CapCut treats subscriptions as virtual goods and generally gives no refunds, with appeals only for special cases such as double billing. Apple buyers go through Apple's Report a Problem, Google Play buyers through the Play app, and Web or PC buyers through CapCut support or the payment provider. Seeing a lower price on another account is not grounds. The step-by-step version is in how to cancel CapCut.
Cancellation happens in the store or account you paid through, at least 24 hours before renewal, so pick that place deliberately.
How the bill compares with Canva, VEED and Descript
Compare the unit first. Canva Pro costs $18 a month billed monthly for one person, and Canva Business costs $25 per user a month billed monthly per person with no seat minimum. Canva Pro includes far less cloud storage than the 1 TB on every paid CapCut plan. VEED Studio costs $79 per seat a month billed monthly, the same number as Ultra but for a seat rather than an account. VEED Creator costs $25 per seat a month billed monthly. Descript Hobbyist costs $24 per seat a month billed monthly, or $16 per seat a month billed annually. Descript has no mobile editing app, which matters if you cut on a phone.
Two cautions apply to every paid CapCut plan, whichever rival you weigh it against. Templates and materials labelled Commercial Use are cleared for business use. Licensed music can also be removed or muted later, even inside saved projects. For business buyers, those rules decide value as much as the monthly figure does. Read the label first.
Frequently asked questions
Does CapCut offer a student discount?+
Free Pro for students comes only through CapCut's Creative Campus partner universities in the US, UK, France, Germany and Japan. The help center mentions student discounts where applicable on the web but gives no figure.
Why does someone else see a lower CapCut price?+
CapCut tests limited-time promotions on selected accounts, and the final price also varies by region, device and taxes. A lower price on another account is not grounds for a refund.
I paid for Pro but my account shows Free. What happened?+
A common cause is signing in with a different method, because Google, email, TikTok, Facebook, Apple ID and phone logins are separate accounts even with the same email. The help center also lists region blocks, an outdated app and sync delays.
Do gifted CapCut memberships include AI credits?+
Usually not. CapCut says gifted or promotional memberships generally include no AI credits or extra storage.
The bottom line
For one creator, Pro is the plan to price: 1,200 monthly credits, 1 TB and every premium template, at a figure you confirm after signing in. Past 1,300 credits a month, a 2-seat Teams plan with 2,400 pooled credits costs less than packs or Ultra, and it is also the pick once two people edit together. Consider Ultra only beyond about 3,400 credits a month, after pricing Teams plus packs and larger Teams seat counts at checkout. Buy on the platform where you want to cancel, set a reminder a day before renewal, and check any yearly price on the Yearly tab after signing in.
